Eruda stands next to Raidou and glanced around to the guild. Her eyes turn to Griswold before he placed his helmet on his head. Eruda's heart sunk and a not formed in her stomach realizing now that Griswold looked exactly like her father who left oh so long ago. Could it really be him Eruda asked herself as she looks to Raidou as her eyes start to water a bit, repressing her feeling though knowing that there was a larger task at hand, Eruda takes a deep breath as she watches Shiina run off into the large group of people that we're only building in numbers. Eruda wipes her face trying to bring herself back to reality as she runs after Shiina.

Eruda's sword glows and she tries to attach one on the huge boss creatures. She manages to send a large gash of red flying through the air toward him causing a small laceration against his leg. After causing what seemed like very little damage to it, she made haste toward Shiina. Eruda was obviously distracted by seeing what looked like her father but runs to Shiina's side anyway. Trying to get her voice straight Eruda says looking up at the two girls saying "Get down here you two. This may not seem dangerous at the time to either of you but it could go south at any moment. So please GET DOWN!!" Eruda says the last phrase with concern but an almost demanding voice. She didn't want either of them to get hurt. Regardless of her situation, she would protect as many players as she could.

Soundtrack: Arabian yodeling. The bustle of the crowd seemed to quiet as storm clouds suddenly moved in, enveloping the whole of Aincrad. Silence blanketed the expanse as quickly as the darkness

Claim Looked at the even bosses  then back down at the ground in the back of his mind he knew that he might not see the next round. He just didnt want to jump and fall to his own death. He ran past the a few player and straight to Swine Jesus, Slayer of Axioses With both hands gripping the hilt as hard as he could take a swipe at it. The tip of the blade cut across it skin. At first it looked like one but 2 more would appear. He would make it way over to Gob-Gob swing his sword at it. the tip of the blade would barley hit it the monsters arm. He would run over to Rain minion the last of the three and swing his blade. just hitting at the monster leg. He would leap back to but some distance between them there Claim wasn't able to do much damage at all but one dot was able to be place and so did the healing on his armor would go off but not it it did much.

Sam sees everyone around her take their attacks and then some of Firm Anima goes in for blood. Excitement runs through her body as she pulls her weapon out and charges at the boss that Griswold hit. Using the weight of the weapon, Sam runs in next to Griswold with a grand assault in mind. Her weapon glows bright red as she swings violently toward the giant monster. Making contact, she tears swiftly through where her teammate hade hit. Jumping back standing next to Griswold, a large grin paints across her face saying "Let's do this big guy. Where is Gaius? He ran off so quickly I couldn't keep an eye on him." Sam glances around the field full of faces that she didn't recognize and some people that maybe she would want to speak to after this threat was dealt with. Looking around she sees Shiina sitting on one of the huge titan like creature and Eruda slide to her side. Simply nodding her head she focuses back on the thing in front of her.

It seemed that Astralin wouldn't be getting her answer. Before she knew it, the players that gathered were surrounded by clouds, fog, and a sinister feeling...

"Ok...is this normal for all large-scale figh-"

The lightning crashed down, and there was suddenly a hole in the clouds. Then the masses of players suddenly started fleeing? She did what she could to avoid getting shoved or trampled, and when the fleeing players disappeared in the fog, she looked back to the situation.

Three figures would descend, and when they finally came into view...

"What in all of...? ...This can't be real." She uttered out. She proceeded to slap herself in the face, but the tingle of the slap proved this wasn't some weird dream. Was everyone suddenly hallucinating or something? The goblin headed man would flex, and Astralin would feel some sort of unpleasant squeezing sensation. "What is this, some kind of Evocation or the like? I don't see how it could possibly happen any other way..." She thought in disbelief. Then with a deafening squeal from another one of the enemies, the players' HP would be capped at what was remaining. Not good. Whatever the case, she was in the fight now, and she was probably gonna have to fight or die...so she would fight...reluctantly.

She would head over to one of the first players to stand out in her head at first glance. "Hey! I can help!! ...Sort of. I might not be capable of much, but I can heal minor wounds and strike enemies with my innate power! I'll just have to give it a try, is all..."

@tricolor_mina

She would turn towards the threats, and ready her fists... "Agieri Gennai!" She called out as she activated her sword art, Aggressive Twins. She darted back and forth among the bosses. However, she badly misjudged the distance between her and her targets. Stumbling and tumbling as her attacks were dodged by the bosses. As for the one sitting on a throne, however, she tried to lunge at it, but she still failed to strike a single target. So much for a good first impression.

Embarrassed, she ran right back to the side of the player she had spoken to. "Alright...I'll admit, this is my first boss fight and I'm still kind of new to combat..." She confessed.

Elora winced as she felt the effect of one of the Kingsmen's attacks. It was one of the few sensations she could focus on amid the chaos. Players retreated and advanced from every direction, creating a flurry of sounds of metal contraptions banging and scraping against more metal. Yells of horror and calls for reinforcements were quickly overridden by the sound of a deafening scream. The cacophony made Elora's ears ring sharply. Soon, the high pitched noise was replaced by the drumming of her pounding heart. She felt the warmth of her blood...more like pixels...coursing all throughout her body and fueling her anticipation for a fight.

Her eyes scanned the masses, looking for some sort of opening she could exploit in order to attack one of the enemies. When a series of players in front of her rushed forward to barrage the monsters, she knew she had found one. Elora joined them in their assault and, upon reaching the gargantuan Goblin, Hefted her spear up to slash at his chest. He deftly swept out of the way, evading her attack with ease. Stumbling forward, Elora watched as the other players closed in for their attacks.

She quickly scrambled away from the battle before running back into to the crowd of bystanders. Her face burned with embarrassment as she struggled to fight off tears. That was such a pathetic attempt. Why did I even come here? Frantically shoving through bodies, she emerged in a small clearing of individuals. Among them, Elora spotted a familiar figure with long purple hair. "Jackpot?"she called out from impulse. Sh*t. Why did I day that out loud. I don't want to reconnect with him looking like this.

Almost as if out of reflex, the sound of Arabelle's voice behind him caused his heart to sink. There was something about the way the girl held herself that rubbed him the wrong way. And it wasn't just the habitual extortion. It was something much deeper than that -- something he couldn't quite place his finger on. But there was no point dwelling on the thought.

"Oh." The eloquent response fell flat as he accepted the Incarceration, his eyes locked onto the crystal. They were hard to get a hold of -- that much was true. And they were very useful for the way he fought. He almost relied on them, but more often than not had to make do without. But why was she giving them to him-? Pinball was hesitant, skeptical, but would ultimately deposit the debuffs in his inventory. "Thank you."

Before she left, though, she offered a casual comment about how his luck was going to run out, sooner than later; to which Pinball quickly snapped, "I know." Then, softer, "I don't expect it to." But she was already walking away, as casually as she'd approached him. It was kind of annoying, and he didn't know why, but he couldn't help the nervous pang in his chest as he watched her go. No matter which way the  fight went, he hoped she'd make it out okay.

And as the sky darkened and mobs fled for dear life, a sense of dread overcame him. Thundering booms rocked the clearing, and every player with a weapon in hand visibly tensed up. Pinball's expression darkened...

...and then immediately fell slack.

Cruel joke it is, then? There was no way in hell these things were the real deal - and just from the ability they used, that reduced his health by half and immediately repaired the damage (whether it was a glitch or intentional, he couldn't tell), Pinball wasn't entirely sure if he even wanted to be there anymore. But on the off chance that these things proved dangerous, he would have to be around to help. Ducking low into the crowds as dedicated players charged into the fight, Pinball would disappear  in the blink of an eye, leaving nothing but the slightest, evanescent shadowy flame in his wake.

For a moment, the earth had fallen silent in awe as the Aincradian Trinity graced its lands with Their glorious presence. The lands trembled. The very air thrummed as it received Them. Deafening cracks of thunder threatened to rend the skies apart once again, and a singular pulse of energy from the three supreme beings was enough to bring even the most capable warrior down to their knees.

Then Aincrad’s Judgment Day began with a devastating flex.

Cries of fear and despair ripped from the throats of the unworthy as they fled. If this was what they had to defeat to earn their freedom, then they’d rather live the rest of their lives in shackles than look upon that awful countenance once again. Soon, all that was left of the crowds outside the safe zone were a scant forty players or so. The bleeding hearts, the foolish, the hopeful–

And Arabelle.

“Oh my.” Unbothered by the sword arts going off left and right, the girl pressed one hand to her cheek and used the other to manipulate her scythe into a lazy twirl. A Sword Art’s green vibrance slowly bled from the tip of its blade to its hilt. Wasn’t it just foolish to unleash an AoE with so many players practically climbing each other for their own chance to hit the Kings of Kings? Ashen eyes flicked up to her halved health bar without concern. “Such muscular figures! I’ve always wanted to cut something like that apart–”

An opening! The reaper shot forward like a bullet, squeezing in where the mayhem was just a little thinner. Her scythe flared a bright green, once, then again, and again – until she released its full force, blazing with all the sharp intensity of a flash bomb. Shock waves erupted from her spinning weapon, and two well-placed swings sent them tearing through the air in Gob-Gob and Swine Jesus’s direction. She raced toward her primary target: a beefed-up version of the Star-Crossed Lovers’ trash mob, complete with sunglasses, a cigar, and a crown. It didn’t even waste any effort moving from its throne. The very picture of arrogance.

Arabelle leaped to the air, Shikama Douji raised high above her head.

"–Look up, King."

Her downwards cleave carved into its scaly face and the shiny gold ornament above it. Damage done. She launched herself back, disappearing past the waves of players who had yet to land their attacks.

"Your crown is falling."

He chortled lightly at Mari “Aye, looks very decent, even got myself a new fancy one, more edgier than before.” he said with a bright smile, hopefully the healing from his sword would show useful today*. “Staggering!” he said as a pun response to Mari’s dagger on a stick, hopefully she would get it, if not he would just bear the cringe for later. “Thanks Mari, it’s good to see you as well.” he replied and took a few steps towards the supposed grounds of trial.

The enemies show themselves

Macradon clicked his tongue, the event for their freedom began faster than he could ready himself, oh well. Seeing how everyone else was also taken aback to what had shown itself in front of them, the pillars of destruction, the pillarmen, the pillarkings. Macradon could but shiver at the presence of these beings, he knew that they were fearsome foes to be dealt with. He only had a few instances where he heard the mention of these creatures, most notably Rain Minion 12 that had somehow shown itself after its entire army, commanders, and king had been obliterated by the frontlines of Aincrad, he had come back. The others he knew nothing about.

The two other present beings showed themselves, and it was like a feeling of dread as he felt his knees being brought down to the ground, but being as smooth as he was, Macradon forced his momentum forward and did a quick roll forwards, bringing his banner with him. With the given sudden momentum, Macradon swirled back up, stuck the banner down into the ground and stroke a pose “Whamuuu …” he muttered, somewhat forced. He wasn’t fully in control, at least it didn't feel like so, something was bugging him the wrong way … something about these creatures … didn’t feel right in the slightest.

The battle begins

As the beings finally descended upon the people of Aincrad, Macradon kept silent, he couldn’t bear any other words than he had already uttered, he wanted to keep on cheering the battlefield but he couldn’t ... was this fear? Slowly backing into a battle stance, Macradon looked at the presence in abject horror. As the green Gob-Gob made its intimidating pose, Macradon felt his vitality quickly shrink, his health bar had gone down to the yellow … but quickly got green again as the swine squealed, reducing his maximum health.

THIS MUST BE THE WORK OF AN ENEMY 「FLEX」!!

Something wasn’t right, his antidote, his preparations, nothing worked against these beings, they broke the rules as if they were the ones who made them. Clicking his tongue once again, Macradon realized that so many had already taken their move before him, he was slowing down, his confidence whittling before these beings.

He finally chuckled and said to himself “Haha, yeah no, this isn’t how we attain our freedom … someone’s toying with us.”. He nodded at Mari and quickly replied to her “Aye!” and used his charge. Preparing a heavy attack, Macradon would put everything into his heavy swing to all the present bosses, an attack aimed at the two that actually did the job while also trying to get his attack on to the one reigning, Rain Minion 12. “What a twisted joke this is …” he muttered with a smirk as his sword began to glow bright orange.

Everyone else before him went in with heavy strikes, some even landing a good stun on Swine Jesus, making him supposedly easier to hit than before. With how nimble he had shown himself at everyone on the battlefield, they all needed all the help they could get to strike down these creatures. With his mighty swing of his sword, Macradon cleaved into the green Gob-Gob and the horrifying Swine Jesus, but his attack was far from reaching Rain Minion 12 who just stood there, sat there, menacingly.

The mob of players all raised their weapons, jumping into battle the moment it began. Most players here seemed to be of the dps category, so looks like the best plan here is to start nuking them down as quickly as possible. The katana user unsheathed her blade from the accompanying saya and tossed the sheath into the air where it disappeared into the ether of her hammerspace with a flash of light. The black bladed katana enveloped in a blood red light as she quickly drew the blade against the Goblin.

The damage was pretty much insignificant compared to what the higher level players were outputting, but with all these lower level players working together to deal heaps of damage, they might be able to match the damage of few level 50 players. Her grip against her katana tightened as she waited for the next moment to move in and strike.

Shye was pulled into battle by the pink paladin, the friend of Shield who he seemed to always be hard on. Like a teacher with a student. This girl continued to get stronger faster than she could believe. Her leveling process had been so slow, but that was probably cause she relied on other people carrying her through fights.

The battle started so quickly that Shye couldn't even process what was happening. When the entirety of the groups hp was lowered completely by half on one turn the, girl healed her tank as soon as possible before realizing that their max HP had been reduced along with the attack. Her eyes widened in shock. If she couldn't heal anyone, how in the hell was she supposed to do anything? If she tried to attack, she couldn't take damage especially with her health pool completely halved. Her breathing was starting to get uneasy again...

Shye heals Zajcica for... uh, nothing.

Oh no, another dance show. Gaius was as terrifying as ever with his stupid tip-toe dance, but maybe he would actually do something if he landed something for once in his life. Megitsune on the other hand, wouldn't miss anything. Rising from her from her seat, the Fox grabs hold of her scythe with both her tiny hands and lets the blade get white hot with power from her sword art.

"Lemme show you how it's done Gaius!" She zoomed past him slashing and spinning into a tornado of death with her weapon. Her damage was nothing compared to someone in the tier above her, but for her level, she was pretty confident that she was one of the strongest players in tier one.

With the damage dealt, the girl moved back a bit to stay out of any unnecessary collateral damage, standing next to Gaius. "Show 'em what you're silly little waltz can do."

With a small wave towards Snow, Ariel greeted her and was about to say a few words regarding this situation. That is before the following events occurred, three clowns NPCs appeared and reduced her HP to half. While she still had plenty of HP left, she worried for those of lower level around them who had a lower health pool. She stared at the names of the mobs in disbelief and a urge to just walk away from all this joke overcame her. Yet she remain, seeing the masses assault the trio regardless of the massive debuff they all suffered. 'What was the Cardinal's plan here?' she wondered, double checking she had a teleport crystal at hand in case there were more surprises. She looked at the rest of the people she was with and muttered "Have fun!" as she activated her charge and went for the squealing pigface. With the simple and clean effectiveness of her skills and mods, she was but a red streak across in the sea of people until she came face to face with her target and unleashed her strongest sword art on it. A small smile forming along her features as her spear left went ablaze in a black flame.

I merely nod as the blonde takes off in a blur, for now being concerned more with my heath situation. Checking my group's status it seemed we've all lost half of our hp in a blink without being physically attacked. Even so, this event seemed like a joke on our expense that I for the most part didn't get. "What do you suggest we do?" I asked my assistants, grabbing my two handed sword and unsheathing its blue hued blade. "I don't think we'll make any difference if we're pilled up with the high ranking players." came a spoilsport reply from Darius that pointed towards Ariel and the rest of the frontliners that engaged and were appearing to do a lot of damage on their own. "Keep your teleport crystals close, they already showed that they can damage from a distance." came the more concerned tone of Claudia that didn't fail to add: "We should stay on the sides and see how the situation unfolds. We might want to be here for the end and reap some rewards." This girl... I always liked her way of thinking, so with a nod, I nonchalantly walk towards the one sitting on the throne and slash at his arrogant leg before backing off.

Both Snow and Ariel moved ahead of Assassin, but she didn't want to be left behind. Her tiny body went low to the ground before her burst of speed left a gust of wind between both of her companions. Nothing was going to out pace her, definitely not a trio of big meanies. The blade she wielded with an underhand grip turned into it's normal purple hue, humming with power. This would be the first time she used this stronger level sword art and she was going to make it count.

The blade slashed through the goblin's side, faster than the eye could see and before anyone could find her, she was already next to Ariel after her charging attack. Looking up to her with a smile, Assassin changed her dagger's grip in her hand. "Nee-chan that was really cool! Keep it up and these jerks will regret messing with us, right?!"

From the heavens descended their final adversaries—!

Three trash mobs turned gym bros who'd gotten jacked on protein. With heads horribly disproportionate to their bodies, bulging muscles everywhere, and — and l... loincloths, it was a sight that was now burned into the poor merchant girl's mind. The green ogre man flexed. The boarman squealed. The lizardman wore its crown and seated itself smugly on its throne. And in response, a great majority of players screamed in terror and ran for their lives.

"I..., uh, what?"

Wait, why is everyone running; was there something she was missing--?

Standing slack-jawed amid the shifting masses, the girl was nearly bowled over by a player running for his life. (Oh, that also meant she'd stepped out of the safezone at some point. Oops.) An... just couldn't find the words. Thankfully, some faceless nobody expressed it so eloquently for her.

"That's it; this event's hopeless," dryly remarked the absolutely unimportant person before they disappeared. "Aincrad's gods can't look this f-cking ridiculous."

Now that that was out of the way, An could barely contain her giggles. It was in her brief moment of immaturity when a player emerged from the alley she had come from earlier, and it took only his speech habits to remember his name. "H-heya!" N-no, I'm totally not laughing at an event boss that can kill people— "I remember you," she quickly continued. Truthfully, the girl hadn't been planning on it until he offered a party request, but if she could do something to help... and if this event did give them what it promised, then it would be wonderful to have an ally by her side! Coming to terms with her decision, An clapped her hands together with a bright smile. "'Basket', right?"

A glance at the name beneath hers.

OOPS—

Red-faced, the girl made a show of clearing her throat. "Sorry! Came out wrong. Basuke." Oh my god Harriette, it's literally the end of the world and you can't recall someone's name— She took a quick glance around their cramped surroundings, then found a path where the herd was a little thinner. "If you've got healing crystals, we need to get you to a place where you can see only the players participating in the battle!" An suddenly said, a shimmer of determination in her eyes. She braced herself, then gestured for the crystal supplier to follow as she turned and went against the crowd's flow. "Come on, let's find people of the same level!"

(Also, at some point, she gingerly poked the boarman with her rapier.)

Bahr knew almost instantly that not everyone would be making it out of this fight alive. His eyes scanned the nameplates of their enemies as he felt the life being sapped from his body. Gob-Gob, the Immortal Slayer. Rain Minion 12. And Swine Jesus, Slayer of Axioses. He had a history with each and every one of these mobs. One had nearly slain him. One had slain his best friend. And the last had demonstrated an uncanny ability to remain alive for impossible lengths of time, against all odds. It had taken Kirbs to finish the job last time, and now there was no Kirbs to bring it down again.

"Lessa," Bahr called firmly, slowly unsheathing Blinkstrike while keeping his eyes on their adversaries. "Stay close to me. Do not take your eyes off of them for even an instant. Be quick, attentive, and only strike during moments when you know you won't be struck back. There guys are-" Before he could finish, Swine Bajesus leapt from his inner coat pocket and began scampering toward the heavenly trio. It barreled forth through the chaos, carving a line straight to Swine Jesus, who instinctively picked the small creature up. Reunited with his father at last, Swine Bajesus turned and gave Bahr a very knowing look.

I have to do this, okay? its beady little eyes seemed to plead.

Bahr hitched his breath, but still gave an uneasy nod. I understand, was the intent behind it.

"Damn it," Bahr muttered as he sized up their opponents. Gob-Gob held a special place in Bahr's heart as one of the most atrocious mobs in all of Aincrad, but it seemed to currently had its hands full with a myriad of other characters. Rain Minion 12 literally had a child sitting on its lap, so it was too dangerous to attack. As much as Bahr hated the idea of Swine Bajesus resenting him for killing its father a second time, or worse, accidentally striking Swine Bajesus in the process, it seemed like the best bet.

"Let's move."

Powerful bounds carried Bahr through the sea of veterans and noobs alike, blazing a trail that he hoped Lessa would be able to follow before it closed. Like Moses parting the Red Sea, only infinitely less graceful or awe-inspiring, Bahr dashed straight up to his old nemesis, Blinkstrike raised and seething with crimson energy, before bringing it down and through.

Or so he thought. The beast was just as elusive as he remembered.

Lessa pursed her lips as Bahr began mechanically muttering commands. I wonder if he even realizes he's doing it, she wondered, cocking her head as she studied him. Or maybe he's just in the zone. Tunnel vision. A heat of the moment thing. "I guess I can forgive that," she decided. Besides, it was kind of hot.

With Asia now crooning in her head, Lessa eased Arcturus from it's place on her back. The practiced motion typically came easily, but the players were packed like sardines. In fact, the Guardian nearly decapitated two people just trying to lower her weapon. With a chorus of "sorrys" and "[censored], my bads," Lessa pounded after Bahr. She'd fallen behind, and in her haste to catch up, nearly missed Swine Bajesus' departure. Almost.

"What the [censored]y [censored]?" came her horrified cry as Swine Jesus scooped up her precious pig. All rational thought left her like water loosed from a levee. The color drained from Lessa's face, then rushed back with unbridled fury. Once her cheeks were approximately the shade of Bahr's jacket, the woman plunged back into the throng. "Out of the way, out of the way, move!" she howled, waving her Claymore over her head. Why the hell were there so many people!? They were practically living in sin right there on the battlefield.

But people didn't move. As the trail Bahr had blazed began to close, and he was swallowed up by the crowd, Lessa knew she was in trouble. In her struggle to locate that crimson coat, the girl plowed directly into another player. Or, more appropriately, tripped over them. That chick's like three foot tall, she mused on her way down. Who the hell let this kid out here? Without ceremony, without flourish, Lessa ate dirt, and was subsequently trampled.

"Wh-wh-wh-what the hell?" Jackpot stuttered as he feasted his eyes on the magnificent ghouls before them. No sooner had the foolishness escaped his lips than he felt his energy begin to wane. He fell to one knee, groaning at the discomfort of the whole ordeal. "D-Dederick... I don't know if being here is such a good idea..."

"Jackpot?"

He vaguely recognize the voice, and craned his head in its direction in an effort to discern its source. It was Elora. Of course it was Elora. Here to witness his cowardice for a second time.

"Sh*t," he muttered as he scrambled to his feet. "Uhhh Elora, hey. What, uh, brings you here?"

"Probably the announcement,"
 came his companion's icy response.

"Ahh haha yeah, that would make sense." Jackpot was suddenly keenly aware of how pathetic he likely looked in comparison to his stalwart partner, his cool gaze still calmly transfixed to the demons that threatened their very existence. "This is, uh, Dederick. He's a tank. Tanky boy." He was just rambling nervously now. "But I don't think even he can stand up to something like this."

So this was it, then? Mockeries of gods. Dederick wasn't all that surprised - more so, he was surprised in just how angry it made him. These idols were false, cruel caricatures of true holiness. As Dederick watched his health instantly half, then cap off, he knew they were in for the fight of their lives. But the insult that these creatures carried with them was absolutely unforgivable.

"D-Dederick... I don't know if being here is such a good idea..."

And of course, this fool couldn't handle it.

"Nonsense. We should have expected something like this. The god of this world wouldn't give us an easy way out. It would instead send its false prophets, and make us struggle in futility against them." He lowered his shield. "There's nothing that can be done here but fight with everything we have."

It was then that the slender woman with a verdant mop of hair arrived, accosting the duo after an embarrassing blunder. She seemed to know Jackpot. Which seemed fitting, considering she seemed just as terrified as he was.

"This is, uh, Dederick. He's a tank. Tanky boy." Jackpot announced, introducing Dederick, but neglecting to introduce his green-haired friend. "But I don't think even he can stand up to something like this."

In response, Dederick shifted his position to stand between the pair and the monsters that threatened to snuff them out. He bent at the knees and lowered his center of gravity, holding Tarn Mirror firmly between certain death and their small party. "Probably not, but I can try. Stay behind me."

What a strange time for a joke.

MISERY cackled at the Kings' arrival, his shrill shrieks twisted and contorted by the modulator that rested in his mask. It seemed that Cardinal was even more cruel than he was. What a masterful display of psychological warfare. There was no way that defeating these things would set them free.

Still, the players struggled against them as though victory might actually turn them loose from this cycle of torment. How naive could they be? If anything, this was a lesson for MISERY. The people of this land are gullible, and will latch on to hope with every fiber of their being. They'll execute every molecule of effort they are able, even in obvious futility, to see if their dreams could come true. It was something he could take advantage of easily once this was all over, provided he could survive it.

The mobs had eviscerated his health, so MISERY decided to lay low and blend into the crowd as best he could. There was no use approaching literal gods in this state. He was more than happy to sit back and watch the others do the heavy lifting.
