So many people. It reminded her of a mob after a big sporting event. Everyone went to the same place, but they still pushed and shoved like petulant children. Instead of reflecting on the game/concert/show/etc. that they'd just witnessed, most became irate, focused entirely on being the first to the buses, the cabs, the parking lot. It was honestly an exceptional time to pick their pockets.

Lilik mulled this over as she watched from a distance, back propped against the trunk of a tree. Disinterest rode high on her sharp face, but her ruby eyes continued to skim the spectacle before her. Somehow, amidst the chaos and the commotion, the plum-haired player spotted a familiar form. A grin slashed across Lilik's face, and with a pep in her step, she strode across the battlefield toward the unsuspecting target.

Ignoring the man and woman who stood with him, Lilik smiled coyly at Jackpot. "Have you ever seen so many nerds in one place?" With her hands on her hips, she gazed across the crowd. "It's all so fascinating. They're so into it."

Soundtrack: Arabian yodeling. The bustle of the crowd seemed to quiet as storm clouds suddenly moved in, enveloping the whole of Aincrad. Silence blanketed the expanse as quickly as the darkness

So they had chosen to remain and fight. How foolish. Though, to say that they didn't fare well would be a lie. They utterly crucified the gods that stood before them. But they would soon learn just how they had earned the title in the first place.

They tried many things. Crystals aimed to tarnish their flawless stats, which would of course fail. Attacks that maimed them and drained their health. Many of them missed, despite their targets not putting forth any effort to evade them. Save for Swine Jesus, who maneuvered through the incoming onslaught with all the grace of an Olympic ballerina doing Olympic ballerina things. I don't know. He was spinning and doing flips, or whatever it is ballerinas do.

Point is, he was on the way to his son, Swine Bajesus. They'd been separated long ago by a tyrant in a red jacket. Oh, how close Swine Jesus had come to slaying that wretched noob. Not only had he failed, but he had died in the process. The snow-haired goon then returned to their nesting grounds and captured his progeny, forcing the pup into a life of servitude. As Swine Jesus scooped its child up and shielded it from the chaos, it could tell that it was looking back at their shared adversary with what almost looked like pleading sorrow. Perhaps it was a form of Stockholm Syndrome.

Some of the players took the event seriously. Others, such as the children that took a seat upon Rain Minion 12's lap, looked upon the event with scorn. Saw it was nothing more than a cruel joke. They were correct in that it was cruel. Perhaps, even, that it was a joke. But they needed to be shown their place. Mortals had no place on a throne occupied by a scaled deity. Though, strangely, Rain Minion 12 paid them no mind at first. Hell, it didn't even seem to react to the weapons scraping against its hide. Was it asleep? Stoned? The shades made it difficult to tell.

What was that? One of them had just asked where they worked out. Oh, dear mortal, you could never handle our gym. To us, you don't even lift.

You never should have come here.

The words appeared silently, their lettering hanging in the air above the mobs as the players rained an endless volley of attacks against them.

The others were smart to flee.

And then, Gob-Gob and Swine Jesus perished. Having taken too much damage to sustain life, their figures splintered before eroding away into dwindling fractal shards. As the clouds of azure triangular pixels waned, Rain Minion 12 finally made its move. With a single snap of its grotesque, slimy fingers, the battlefield sprang to life. Not only did its comrades rematerialize from the miasma of blue that had erupted from their corpses, but any and all foolish enough to ride aboard the fish man's lap found themselves instantly teleported back into the crowd of players. In their place, a sign sprouted up from between the amphibian's spread legs.

"No touchie!" the sign read. Seemed Rain Minion 12 had personal space issues.

Gob-Gob flexed. Swine Jesus squealed. And together, they brought the collective of insects before them to their knees once more. The players may have thought they were already reaching the end. Rain Minion 12 had just shown them they had a long way to go.

Mari fell back in line by @Crozeph. She offered him a lop-sided grin as she struck the butt of her spear in the ground beside her, hand gripping its handle tightly to ground herself - lest she be attacked unawares by one of the three rippling masses of writhing and twitching muscled flesh.

“Honestly, I considered it - just taping my dagger to a stick - I mean...same diff - right?” Mari asked with a small shrug of her bare shoulders. “But no, this one was a gift from Shield.” As Crozeph asked if she had seen any other guild members beside him Mari’s eyes shifted from her companion. It...was quite honestly hard to tell amidst the chaos of everyone attacking. “No...not yet…” Mari said quietly. It was strange...to not have Shield, Beat or Baldur here… and then there was Oikawa...was he okay?

A hand absently went to her chest as she fretted about where her companions were. They were supposed to be a team, right? Leaning on each other, right? So where were they all? “Maybe…they just know better than to fall for such an obvious trap.” Mari said softly. Mari couldn’t help but notice that a bi-coloured woman. @Bistro had given something to Crozeph. Mari pointed at it. “What you got there?” She asked. Mari rose her eyes to the woman - and gave her a small wave of thanks. At least...everyone was working together, right?

Her quiet gaze shifted back to the three men. What makes a man, is it the power in his hands?  She watched as player after player rushed forward, most missing the might of Swine Jesus. Is it his quest for glory?  Then - from up above, a rush of musical fire as the might of Night rained down upon them- inflicting them with seemingly endless debuffs - Mari swore she saw their muscles tense, swell, then beads of pristine glimmering sweat trickle between the taut valleys and hills of their muscle and sinew. Mari tilted her head and raised a brow, almost...entrancing in a way. Give it all you got, fight to the top! So we can hear your story...

Now you're a man, a manly manly man man...

Mari noticed a flurry of red nearby - a familiar red cape. Her eyes narrowed at @Raidouas he activated his howl ability. As long as he didn’t try hugging it out mid battle - they’d be peachy keen.

The orange haired Pker opened her mouth to speak, to address those around the bespeckled bozo to ensure he was covered - since he now seemed to have the most hate out of everyone. But before she could say anything Cordelia slid in by her side. Mari blinked. Crap she must have just missed her attack. “I think a mix of all three..” Mari said in response to @Cordelia. “The way those muscles ripple and twitch - If i didn’t know better I’d swear they were trying to hypnotize us.” Mari offered Cordelia a wry grin, at least there was another familiar face. “Wanna join our group, looks like we have myself, Macradon, Crozeph and You.” Mari said with a nod. “Crozeph is on support. Is your sensei around?” Mari asked, Cordelia was Baldur’s student right? Surely, she’d know where he was.

Mari’s smile dropped as her eyes shifted to a sight above Cordelia’s head. “You’ve got to be f**king kidding me.” Mari said with a literal facepalm. @Shiina. Dumb ass f**k Shiina….the same girl who tried to pat a big ass lion that would have killed her, was now neatly settled upon the lap of the strange fish headed creature. “That damn….” Mari gestured behind Cordelia so she could turn and see what Mari was talking about. “She keeps on throwing herself at deaths door - did you know she practically ran up to the Nemean Lion to pat it when she was like level 5?” She turned to glance over her shoulder at Macradon and Crozeph.

“That’s insane, right? Right?” Mari exclaimed, looking for some sort of backup. “Then you have Snow, but at least She’s  trying to remove herself from a dumb ass situation.”

It was then that there was a rumble...the first two monsters exploded - that was good right? No...it was too easy, way too easy.

"Dammit.." Mari pulled her spear out of the ground. "We're gonna have to attack each one evenly, especially if that fish guy keeps reviving them. Macradon, can you take the fishy guy? And Cordelia, can you take the boar guy?" Mari pointed the end of her spear at the one that reminded her of a song...how did it go again?

Makin' my way downtown - walking fast, faces past and I'm homebound...

Mari blinked when she noticed Snow nearby- wasn't she...just on...Mari shook her head and pushed through the crowd to try and get Snow's attention. @Snow! Mari called out with a wave of her hand, urging the blonde to join her group. "C'mere - I unno what the heck you were doing on that things lap but we could use your help. If you're offensive, we're trying to split the attacks evenly, if you're support - we need anything that can increase our max overall health."

Finally Mari turned to Crozeph. "Hey, Cro - if you got any overhealth crystals wanna try using some? Anyone? We'll also need anything that can rejuvinate our energy." Mari asked. She hadn't thought to put any into her inventory. "If we can keep buffing ourselves up after every debuff it'd help, right?"

Mari knew she was kinda taking charge - but that's what a guild leader did, and since the others hadn't shown up...well, she had to do what she had to do. She swung her spear around her shoulder and ran toward Gob-Gob the Destroyer, ducking under the mighty spray of sweat as he flexed - it bought her to her knees and she cursed under her breath as she stood back up, jabbing Gob-Gob first in his upper arm, then with a pivot and swing her spear was bought down to jab hard into his left pectoral. Another twirl and BAM into his back. Mari grimaced, each time she pulled her spear away it dripped with the sweat of a god.  Mari shook her head, tightning the grip on her spear as she swung it down in a final slam from above before ducking under his mighty biceps to rejoin her small group.

She wiggles around for a moment, enjoying the warmth and high thread count in goose down feathers on the gilded fixture. A flash of energy tosses Shiina from the comfy place nestled upon Rain Minion 12's illustrious throne with a snap of his fingers, a firm tenderloin of leg meat acting as a solid back to the chair she is extradited from. Around her was a warzone, and amongst the chaos, she had had the opportunity of relishing the large chair of a god. She needed validation, and next to her was a girl with emerald green hair. "Did you see that! that chair is baller, noice jabbie btw, Destruction: 100. Up top!" she exclaimed with a quick raise of her left hand to @Elora who was still focused on combat wholeheartedly. To most this was life or death, but to Shiina, she had already succeeded well beyond what was required of her.

"How the hell is something that big also that nimble?"  Freyd wondered as he tumbled back to his feet, his weapon having not even come close to making contact with the gigantic, freaky pig-dude.  His options were limited, and so was his damage output compared to most others on the field.  Where could he best contribute?  Nearby, some lady who REALLY liked orange seemed to be saying something about splitting up damage.  Not a bad idea, but the swine’s speed was going to make dealing even damage tricky at best.

Noticing the icon above her head, he couldn’t help wonder if she’d PKed just to change it to match the rest of her appearance.  Maybe he’d get a chance to ask, if he lived.

*uRKK*

The same gut-wrenching sensation returned as the two bosses at the forefront respawned and repeated their attacks.  Freyd fell to one knee, but was more focused on looking about to see if anyone else had been knocked out completely.  He was hardly a veteran, but there were others here worse off than himself, who might not last much longer.  That last notion steeled his resolve.

“On it!” he yelled back in the orange direction, confirming her command.  He had no idea whether she was actually in charge, or if anyone was, but it seemed like a practical course of action.  Forgiven Disobedience slashed before him in two wide arcs, sending glimmering white shockwaves in an outward blast, hoping to catch all three foes, if he was lucky.

Oscar had lost his turn. When his eyes fell upon the buff verdant creature before him, he was assaulted with visions. Visions of himself accompanied by a diminutive version of this very creature. Memories that he had, scenes that he had previously been in. Except Leeroy and Jenkins accompanied him in all of those situations. Oscar couldn't shake the feeling that he knew this creature. Despite that, this was a boss battle. He had to get it in gear. He turned to look at his familiar and found that it was gone. In its place was a twisting, winding rift in the fabric of space and time. Through this rift, Oscar could see the birth and death of the universe simultaneously. This creature - this Gob-Gob - had to be the cause of this paradoxical anomaly. He felt suddenly weaker, but he took aim at the group and let fly an Explode Catapult. He managed to make contact with the swole Goblin and the aquatic creature. The pig messiah, on the other hand, simply phased out of existence as his axe arced toward him.

It was then that Oscar noticed, perched upon Swine Jesus, was Bahr's familiar. It would seem that the Crimson Marauder was suffering from the same issue as Oscar. For whatever reason, both of their familiars had been taken out of play. Strange whispers were uttering forth from the rift. Maddening sounds of beings beyond his ken. In an effort to distract himself, Oscar tapped Bahr on the shoulder with the back of his hand as he recovered from his attack. He gestured towards the ever-widening maw of anti-reality with an incredulous expression. "What the f*ck is this boss man?"

After some confusion and chaos, the Goblin-headed boss and the boar-headed boss would be defeated. "Ok, two down!" He said aloud. "This is way too easy to be the real deal..." He thought.

Then the one on the throne snapped and the previously defeated bosses...revived?? "Oh, come on!" Clearly, there had to be some condition to win. Beat them all before one has a chance to revive the others? Kill the one on the throne first, so that the revival cycle would stop? ...Nah, the latter still sounded too easy. "Ok...I'm starting to think that the goblin-headed boss and the boar-headed boss are meant to weaken us." He said aloud as the two bosses pulled exactly what they did last time, halving the players' HP and proceeding to make it the new Maximum. If there was no capping, this would be where all players' HP turned red. Either way, something had to be done, and FAST. "I think we're supposed to take them all out at once. If you've got a good Area of Effect Sword Art, now is the time to use it! The one on the throne looks a bit weakened, so one of us can try attacking him, then two of us will go for each other one! That sound good?" He suggested to those around his immediate vicinity. So what if it sounded like he was taking charge? He'd need to practice leadership and battle strategy anyway if he was gonna lead a guild someday(which he still had a long ways to go).

@Krysta @Zajcica @Shye @Simmone

"I'll volunteer to deal with the goblin-headed boss. One of you can feel free to follow suit if you'd like. But one of us has to attack the one on the throne, and those remaining should target the boar-headed boss!" He said to the four players. Well, he didn't know if they would actually consider his suggestion, but hey, wouldn't hurt to try. He turned his eye to his target, ready to attack again. He readied his fists, and rushed over to the boss, striking it with a single, high-powered punch. Given the results of the other attacks against these bosses, it was likely that this thing wouldn't even budge.

Not too long after Krysta had made her move, another Rapier user would compliment on her weapon choice, and ask if Krysta minded her joining in. "Not at all. Surely by working together will we vanquish the enemies that stand before us in due time."

Krysta noticed how quickly the bosses fell, save for the one on the throne, who would simply bring the bosses back. As the newly revived bosses weakened the players even further, Vigilon suggested that perhaps weakening the players was their actual purpose. It was all they were doing at the current moment, so perhaps this might have been the case...at least for the time being. He would then suggest a battle plan of sorts, believing that vanquishing all three bosses at a similar time might work. "If they all can bring each other back, then that's our only option then, isn't it?" Krysta noted, agreeing with the possibility. Vigilon would volunteer to be one of the ones attacking the goblin-headed boss. "I shall volunteer to fight the one with the head of a Rain Minion. I have faced those foul creatures before, albeit they were not like the one which currently sits on the throne." She decided. She raised her weapon towards the sky. "Then onward we go, that we may put an end to this cruel tyranny that threatens us all!" She declared.

@Vigilon @Zajcica @Shye @Simmone

With that, she ran to fight the boss that still sat on a throne. She readied her sword art, ready to strike. Unfortunately, this battle wouldn't be very different from other battles against the Rain Minions. She was ready to strike, her foe simply sitting there on its throne... and yet she would fail to damage the boss.

So two of the bosses ended up shattering, but the last one simply snapped, clearly manipulating the balance of life and death, and they came back, ready to do exactly what they did last time. The goblin-headed boss would bring forth life-diminishing evocation from its threatening display of flexing, and the boar-headed boss would curse the players' vitality through an ear-deafening squeal...at least, that was how Astralin would interpret it. "Players can't have magic in this game...and yet, what is this that I see before me? This isn't fair, why can't we have magic, when the world around us is clearly capable of doing so??" She thought. "Oh now that's just not fair." She said aloud. "Umm...alright, I'm gonna have to try this again, it seems..." She decided, knowing that playing the healer would be a futile role in a position like this. She took a deep breath, and readied herself for her second attempt. "Agieri Gennai!" She called out as she activated her sword art. She darted through the battlefield, striking all but the boar-headed beast who barely dodged the attack. When Astralin landed, the first thing she felt was fatigue. She was low on energy. "Uh oh..."

He bit his lip as he saw that the debuffs that were cast earlier were negated "now that's troublesome, looks like I'm worthless on the debuffing part" he thought. A while ago he was glad that Gobgob and Swine Jesus got killed by players who dealt really good damage and one of those was Night "that woman and her nuke weapon, I need to keep reminding myself not to get on her bad side" he thought. Just as he felt the assurance that they've got it in control, Rain Minion 12 began reviving them both and with the two back in action, cast another debuff on them. Crozeph could feel his HP going down as if his level was also sinking. He gave a laugh as he felt it "why am I surprised? one has Jesus in its name and another a goblin with such powerful flex abilities" he unsheathed his sword and placed back in his inventory the item someone handed to him earlier "I don't think that would do any good for now, I'd hate to not do anything but debuffs are now useless" he thought.

"I'm sorry Mari, all I have are negative thoughts..." he stopped and changed his words "... I mean mass heals and incarcerate debuffs" he told her. He took a deep breath and felt the chill of having Lamina De Skadi in his hand. "I'm going to deal damage this time, I doubt my debuffs can deal with anything. If we receive some raw damage I'd take the chance to cast a mass heal for us, that's all I can do" he then moved forward. He walked and walked until the pace of his movement turn into sprinting, there was no other choice right now and he had to choose his target wisely. He moved his sword fast and slashed continuously at the knee of Rain Minion 12, if it can be called a knee "of course it's a knee! anyone who can sit has a knee" he told himself. He landed an upward vertical slash and quickly moved out of attacking range and as he did he saw a girl.

She was one of them who sat on the lap or Rain Minion 12 and was snapped back to where the other players are "this girl..." Crozeph pivoted his body and ran towards where she is and grabbed her by the collar at the back of her neck "oh no you don't, I'm bringing you back to formation!" he said. It was a mess, he wasn't doing it gently. It was more like he was dragging cart and not a girl, like someone being chased by a dog. There was no time to be gentle, they both might get clapped by the kings if they didn't move fast. Her arms and legs were flailing as Crozeph ran, he felt terrible but he had to ignore it.

Crozeph reached the formation of the players quicker than he thought, he felt more nervous not seeing what the three bosses are up to with his back turned against them and dragging a girl with him. Crozeph gently let her go and pointed fingers to his eyes then to hers "where are your parents!?" he told her with his voice rising a little "next time you go back up there I'll yank you again and I'll make sure to achieve mach speed in doing so" he scolded her. As he turned his back and positioned himself near Mari, he let out a deep breath and began breathing fast "damn it, that girl is a handful" he said as he looked back at her with his eyes squinting "I'm watching you young woman" he mouthed his words before turning his attention back to the kings.

“Mn. This isn’t any good…” Her disengagement had carried her back to where her party was gathered; thankfully they all had half a mind to keep as much distance from the swarm as they could. Shikama Douji behind her back, Arabelle settled atop a boulder. “They’d have better chances at chopping each other apart than landing a scratch on our angry gods. …And,” giving pause, she tilted her head. “Was that ‘The Gallows’ playing?”

Disappointingly Miraculously, no one died. And for a hopelessly optimistic moment, it almost appeared that the battle was turning in their favor.

(She almost laughed when hope reignited in their eyes only to be stomped out again when the Aincradian Trinity rose anew. What were these foolish sheep expecting? She'd hold the back of her gloved hand to her lips as she looked on from her vista.)

“Status effect immunity on all three.” --No wonder he sat out the initial assault. Arabelle landed lightly on the ground behind her team. Two of them, anyway. She didn’t concern herself any further with the whereabouts of the man in the fashionable coat, but the loss of a handsome face was as much of a pity as the crown being superglued to Rain Minion 12’s head. Striding forward to stand beside them, the girl continued, unhurried. “My song didn’t slow down that silly boarman at all, and debuff icons aren’t visible on the other two after the crystals that were played earlier. Take that as you will.”

She shut one eye, fingers curling around the handle of her scythe. “Rain Minion 12 looks sensitive. How about we ask someone to be a dear and sit on his lap? See, if we shatter his ego, he might just cry and show some more weakness. We can use just about any detriment to these three’s abilities, yes?” Her cheeky little smile suggested she didn’t believe in that suggestion either. Arabelle turned her ashen eyes to the crowded expanse as the telltale glow of another Sword Art began to flicker about her blade. When she next spoke, her tone began to resemble a seriousness appropriate to the role of a warrior fighting the final battle along with them. “They haven’t shown any other offensive abilities yet, but we can’t be too confident. Yuki, keep gathering Hate with AoEs?

”And, NIGHT…” the small purple-haired girl looked to her side, her half-activated Sword Art painting the side of her face with a faint green glow. “There are other possibilities, but let’s stick to one. ‘If we kill them all at once, they wouldn’t have the capability to revive each other.’ So let’s stick to AoEs, too. I think we can rely on the others to fill in the gaps with single-target attacks.”

That was– if her attack would count as anything more than a glorified single-target. She’d tried to wait until the last second, but with the bosses disappearing under the mobs of players, it was hard to tell when that would be. Troubling, but she wouldn't go a single round without pitching in. Without another word, Arabelle disappeared into the fray. In and out of the ranks of players (some who shouldn't even be there at all), it didn't take long until the brilliant green of her scythe met the throat of her scaly adversary.

Flabbergasted by the display of pure power that was in front of him, he looked in awe, not knowing what to say … couldn’t even remember how to say anything. Of anything he was proud of was the amount of damage being capable of being dished out by everyone in attendance. With swift blows of the ensemble, everyone went in to deal as much damage as they were capable of, slowly trickling down the health of the bosses, and finally enough to kill the giant goblin and its swine companion. Quickly clearing his throat, Macradon could call out to everyone “Very well done, citizen of Aincrad! With the glass ceiling broken, all the suppressed groups will now prosper, especially the most suppressed of all, GAMERS!” he roared out, showing the awesomeness that was the players gathered here today.

But before he had anything else to say, the slimy fish dude snapped his fishy fingers, and just as quickly as they disappeared, they reappeared again. “Wait what! This has to be some super twisted joke!” he yelled out at the three bosses. Clicking his tongue and sucking his teeth, Macradon would try to assess the situation, but not long after their reappearance, the flex and the squeal did its job again, everyone took half their health in damage, and that was then set to their max HP. Looking at his measly 400 HP he couldn’t do anything else than chuckle “It’s like being level 25 again, what a feeling.” he said and tried to focus “Maybe I should get a proper aim at the king … nah AOE should do the trick.”.

Quickly rushing into battle, Macradon brandished his holy vampiric sword and began to cleave through the three bosses. With heavy hews, he managed to hit them all, dealing a small chunk of damage to the lot.

Oh. The overlords respawned?

"Well, damn." Who knew doomsday would go so terribly?

Bistro watched a few new sigils appear under the boss' health bars in the distance, pulling open an examination window to check. Well, so much for their debuffing plans. And she got roped into the fight while she was at it. Things were not going well for her this day.

She hummed, before glancing back at the retreating crowd. Still numerous? The alchemist couldn't get home, then. What a bother. With a bow of her head and a fierce smile, she shot it towards the advancing players somehow lounging around the backline, but seemed ready to charge towards the bosses once again. "Performer's Crystal," she quickly informed the PKer, before raising two palms and stepping backwards towards the sidelines. "Sorry. I'll be out of your hair now."

Time to remain discreet under the gaze of the supreme beings. Not that they were looking anywhere in Bistro's direction, of course, but neither was she keen on pushing her luck further, being in harm's vicinity.

In raids like these, someone always had to take the reigns. There were similar occasions in the past of course, skirmishes in the field during which orders were barked her way. However, NIGHT had always brushed them aside. She'd rarely found her life on the line when it came to a pack of creatures she could mow down with only a handful of sword arts. There was something about giving her freedom away during a fight to a stranger that made it revolting to be in a follower's position.

So, here...

“My song didn’t slow down that silly boarman at all, and debuff icons aren’t visible on the other two after the crystals that were played earlier. Take that as you will.”

... It definitely had to be the suit. NIGHT bit her tongue as she nodded to their strategist's comments. As much as it made her skin crawl, the uniform seemed to command obedience without saying a word, and the player found herself mirroring its respect in silence. Her eyes shifted to their opponent's health bars; perhaps it'd been an illusion earlier that she'd spotted her status effects sticking to them. Now that their immunities had been pointed out to her, she couldn't help but stew in irritation, though she kept her curses locked away in her throat.

"AoEs," she breathed, repeating the note to herself before glancing up at their foes. A dim light began to coat its surface as she scanned the targets. They were large; she couldn't possibly miss them, could she? With a sharp side-step, NIGHT pushed out a quick "Got it," before hammering down the pavement, sword drawn behind her in a hand.

Her second attack would've been a lackluster move. At least, most would've called it that, had she not struck the nigh uncatchable fiend again. In three rapid strikes she did weave her shock waves around to crash somewhere about their gods' knees, the impact of which had been calculated to have cut down a sizable amount of their health. Unfortunately, her aim was off with Rain Minion #12's; it'd struck the throne squarely between its legs. With a crashing explosion, her blow had pulled up an 'Immortal Object' declaration, the king himself remaining unharmed.

NIGHT dropped to the ground, barely steadying herself upright from her leap. As her sword waned in its glows, she'd shoot the monsters a second glance, their faces blotted out in darkness against the gold of the great expanse above. Even if the gods barely felt that, imagined her slashes to be only but a trifle...

--She would've settled for being called suicidal, actually.

It was okay. As 'Basket' ran, the wind kinda blew away the welling tears from his face.

-- Just kidding. Well, maybe. It hurt the boy a little, but he wasn't going to show it off. Basuke let Andromeda take the lead, the two of them racing through and against the crowd. It'd taken him a few jumps and there were a handful of moments where he'd sworn he'd lost sight of his friend, but they'd made it out of the pack eventually, finding themselves closer to the mythic beings.

The moment Basuke had space to do so, he'd toppled over, hands and knees to the ground as he breathed. Just in time for his health bar to be cleaved in two, actually; it dipped into the orange before it returned to the green. Was that a bug or maybe a glitch? Did Aincrad have one of those auto-healing settings on for his familiar? The tsuchinoko he carried didn't seem too fussed about the noise outside, and when he'd slid the chubby snake out its pocket, the boy discovered Smiggle Crocs V to be sleeping soundly, emitting faint growls in the place of snores.

So, that probably wasn't it.

When he got onto his knees, he'd noticed Andromeda already taking a few swings at one of the trio. Even if they were resting on the lower echelons of the ladder, she'd still have to courage to face off against some Supreme beings? Basuke's eyes seemed to light up at the idea, checking the party around him for any signs of stragglers, damaged by the fight. When he was confident there weren't any, he set his focus back on the gods, pulling Rhona's Needle from its sheathe.

"Let me help!"

Ditzy, clumsy Basuke. He'd entirely missed the boar, ducked underneath the goblin, and-- oh, he'd hit something. The fishman king? Eh, it was better than nothing at least! Twelve measly points of damage, but-- wait.

He'd stopped smiling when he thought he spotted something that caused him a great deal of distress.

Was that a gun?

Dazia looked around the battlefield, seeing how the first two bosses shattered, then proceeded to be resurrected by Dazia's intended target...and now so many were targeting him that Dazia wouldn't get her chance if she simply stood there any longer. Despite the HP issue worsening, there didn't seem to be anything stopping her. She advanced through the battlefield, seeing a familiar, unfriendly face charging for her target. They were back to this, it seemed...but with a soft nudge, she could potentially disable the attack.

Dazia ran over to cross paths with Princess. She would barely manage to give a nudge to the legs, allowing for non-hostile contact that would cause Krysta to slip up and fail her attack. "Let's make one thing clear, Princess. Nobody kills that thing but me." She stated to her before rushing for her target again.

@Krysta

She continued her advance, seeing other players strike at her target as she did so. It was now or never, there wasn't much time left to get the final blow on this thing. She leapt forward as she activated the Penetrate Sword Art, aiming for the head as she did last time. Since the boss was just sitting there, there was nothing to save it from her wrath.

Why won't it hit only her? Only the tanks?

Yuki complained in her mind. She had no idea what to do. The only thing that she was good for was drawing the bosses' aggro and taking the hits for her allies. Beyond that, she was completely useless in every way imaginable. A pair of stressed eyes soon turned into ones of desperation. What was she going to even one of these people got damaged at all?! Surely they were winding their health bars down to low so that their first real attack would be the only one that they needed.

"I-I don't know what to do..." Yuki said, tightening the grip on her lance in frustration. "Hate doesn't seem to work. I'm attacking but it wont focus on only me!"

Unable to think of a better plan, Yuki gave in to the only thing she knew how to do. A pink sword art enveloped her weapon, slashing through all three targets at once. Only a single strike made it through, tearing a small cut through the Goblin and inflicting him with bleed. "Focus on me!" Which sounded more like a plea than a demand.

Eruda watches as Shiina gets teleported off Rains lap and then dragged further away by another character. Running to her sight she overhears the other plays talking about none of there debuffs working or the hate mechanics not taking effect. "Shiina now is not the time to be messing around. You should be focusing on healing anyone that needs it if these things were to make an actually attack." Looking up to her health bar that halved once more, she takes Shiina's hand saying "I promise that after this we will go do something fun okay?" Guiding Shinin back to Raidou she pats her head with a smile and looks to Raidou saying "They are not focusing on anyone particularly so I am not sure that the hate mechanics affect them. I also overheard from the others that none of their debuffs were working either and that we should focus on attacking all at once so there is no chance that they can resurrect each other again." With that, she turns to the creatures with a calm expression trying to think of anything else that could be useful. "Let's do our best okay," she says to Raidou before running into the fray of battle attempting an AOE against the creatures.

Eruda swiftly swings her sword through the air after the red glow appears causing a few gashing strikes toward the creatures only hitting one and doing very little damage. "Dam it," Eruda says a bit distracted as she looks toward Griswold wondering if he could really be her father. Walking back to Raidou's side waiting for his input on the matter she watches the others in the fray taking hits against the things hoping that we could actually kill them.

Sam hears a little bit of talk around her but mainly all she heard clearly was use AOE. With a smirk, she looks to Griswold saying "Let's do a bit of damage then, shall we." With her weapon in hand, it starts to glow a deep red as she starts to run at the large creatures with the intent to hit all. Swinging her axe with swiftness using the weight with a spin upward and crashing her weapon against the ground as hard as she could. At a second glance, she just knew the first was a miss but the entities of what looked like Bison followed her attack toward the other two and bashed against them both with great speak with horns inserted into their thick hide. Sam smiles and turns to Griswold saying "2 of 3 ain't bad. Let's see what you got Big guy." It was weird saying that because she had good height on herself so working with someone taller than she was, it felt normal to her.

Snow scrambled to get herself out of the fish god's lap. Something about how slick it's bulging legs were made getting her footing impossible. As she floundered about, another player casually waltzed up the steps and took a seat next to her. Snow paused her struggles. In the midst of battle, she just blankly stared at this girl.

Is this girl mentally sane...? thought Snow.

"Hi there, comfy ain't it." @Shiina blurted to the blonde's utter disbelief.

"No! This is absolutely not what I wanted! We have to--"

"Get down here you two. This may not seem dangerous at the time to either of you but it could go south at any moment. So please GET DOWN!!" Snow heard @Eruda cry out from a distance, interrupting exactly what she was about to say.

"I'm trying! It's like this thing is just slathered in oil! I can't--"

And before she could finish her sentence, the immediate scenery shifted. She stood upright, feet planted, spear at her side. Snow looked down and saw grass, earth, a couple weeds. She looked to her left, and just like herself, the other girl stood on two feet in the middle of the battlefield. Snow looked right.

"Oh god!" she stammered. @Mari and Snow met eyes suddenly and the shock of it all forced the girl to jump.

"C'mere - I unno what the heck you were doing on that things lap but we could use your help. If you're offensive, we're trying to split the attacks evenly, if you're support - we need anything that can increase our max overall health." Mari barked.

Snow made an "uwu" face in the heat of embarrassment.

"I didn't mean to--" Snow again failed to finish as the Pillar of their guild turned to the guy she called @Crozeph which for some reason looked extremely familiar. An incessant image of a crying man hugging a bag of col came to mind. Snow's soft blue eyes narrowed in suspicion. Before anything could click into place, Mari and Crozeph bolted back into the fight. Snow pouted and let out all the air in her lungs in a massive sigh.

For my first boss battle... this is not how I imagined anything would go. This is awful...

Her thoughts were even interrupted by a small notification window simply stating: ["No touchie!"] from <<Rain Minion 12>>

"Alright," Snow's typically soft and collected voice bubbled up into a shout of frustration. "I've had enough."

The blonde kicked the butt of her spear and sent it spinning around until her free hand caught it and lined up the pointy end with the fish demi-god. Its snap of the fingers brought back the other two monstrosities immediately after the players felled them. After that last straw with the message, Snow now had a vendetta.

With that smug pose in that stupid throne with those tacky sunglasses and cheap crown. Wait... is that a cigarette? And... what the -- a gun?!

Compared to the other abominations, this one had a ridiculous number of accessories. What were the odds that maybe these objects functioned like armor enhancements? What if the powers the combined trio stemmed from one common mob collecting relics of some asinine power? That sounds like something they'd put in a boss mechanic, right? Couldn't hurt to test it out, right?

Right?!

"Alright," Snow growled. "Let's give it a go."

Snow surged into battle with Sif's Needle at the ready. Its length thrummed with an aural glow as her input motion hung and sword art primed. Just as she felt the system and her muscles apex, Snow unleashed the combat assist of her Hellish Twice. Her spear swung wide and bit deep into the sunglasses on the fish mob's face. It continued through the red hot embers of its blunt and with the second arc, slammed against the gun it carried in its hand. With any luck, Snow would do a number on the god's fashion. At best, deal a decisive blow to the overpowered visage of the trio.
