Growing up in Boston had its perks, especially if you come from old money built upon the wine industry. His upbringing was a classic story of becoming a spoiled child who got whatever he wanted. However, when he turned 18, his father put him to work in the family business. While this forced Adeux to grow up and become an adult, it also gave him a new found appreciation of money. The driven, greedy side that seemed to be genetic came out in full swing. He pushed to work more and gather more money as he began to see it as a vital part of his life. During his little time away from work, he realized that he wanted to find something to fill his time that would feel productive, but wouldn't burn him out. Gaming, a way to enjoy your time but also grind to something larger and possibly reach an end, drew him in. His gaming love only grew as he discovered MMO's and other games where you could accumulate mass amounts of wealth, items, and power among the other players. This drew him to SAO. A game where you could be in an MMO while also doing your day to day work and create an empire in a world that was almost like the real one. With his family's connections, it was easy to acquire the necessary hardware and software in order to play the game. So all that was left was for him to plug it in, scan his body, and go off into a world to become the greatest he could be. His personality is primarily greedy, money driven, and determined. He is a smooth-talker by trade but intimacy isn't always his best skill. Growing up he wasn't close to those that didn't give him an edge over his competitors. This unfortunately created a shallow connection with those around him, and a shallow personality as well. Maybe one day he will meet someone who will show him how to care about others, and his own emotional well-being. Virtues: Driven: Adeux in his life in the real world began to grew in his drive to acquire what he had his eye set on. In SAO, a similar goal was beginning to form. Whether it was better gear, more money, or trade connections. Adeux seemed to always be working towards his goals of becoming powerful, no matter the cost. Smooth-Talker: The only way you can get what you want is to talk people into giving it to you. His ability to talk people into his plans and agreements was perfect in the real world as he could acquire influence and friendships with those he held dear and useful. In SAO, acquiring gear and Col was hopefully going to be easy now. Educated: Money and Wealth always need something to hold it up. Due to his status in life he was able to have some of the top education that money can buy. His educated mind allows him to understand complex problems and work out differing ideas and solutions. Hopefully that helps with trying to defeat the next boss. Flaws: Greedy: Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately in his eyes) he grew up wanting and driving towards money and other status items. This stopped him from gaining any sort of interest in other objects that have more of an emotional connection. Going through this, his life was devoid of emotional value. But he didn't seem to have any issue... Innocent: While he is not innocent to the ways of the world, he is innocent in the ways of living outside of his sheltered life. He has not experienced life to its fullest, primarily when it comes to romantic partners. His family barely accepted his coming out, and he didn't feel like he had the time in order to pursue something like that. Status-Obsessed: His interest in status has created his need to be better and be seen as better in the eyes of others. He will do whatever he can in order to achieve his goals. This causes him to look down upon those that are "lesser" in societies eyes. Setting off on his journey, he has started looking for allies. First in the heart of Mari who helped him through the earning a living quest, but also made his day not awful.
