As per her usual routine, Haine scrolled through the quest list on the HUD. There were about a handful that were on the easy side, she wondered how she could've missed it. Perhaps it was her recklessness in her younger days, forgoing the easy quests to aim for ones beyond her league. After a few miserable outcomes, she'd finally learned to exercised caution. But with all of these little quests in the way, she couldn't see why not. She could take care of them quickly. Haine was laid down on the couch, head rested on top of Miska as she went about her idle routine. Pingu was fascinated by a mere house fly, chasing it down, causing her usual ruckus. Across the house, a shuffling sound could be heard. Kiluia was up there organizing his workshop, she figured.

After a moment of pondering, she settled on a quest which was conveniently placed on the same floor as their home.

 "Kiiiil! I found somethin'!"

It was a nice cool temperature for them inside their home. He was relaxing in the kitchen shop before he heard her speak. He grabbed his glass of tea and proceded to move to her. Pingu had been trailing along behind him covered in flour since she had gotten ahold of the bag. Poor penguin. But she was happy and didn't mind it so much. Glass was set  down on the table in front of Haine." Yes, dear?" He was always up for adventure but this was for him to better himself and to escort her into battle when they needed to.

He sat in the big one seater and felt his body sink into the mold of the chair. Eyes would land on her as he awaited for the blue haired wonder to spill what she had found. He just prayed it was not the desert this time. He had been finding bits and pieces of sand every time he put on or took off his shoes." And, I need you to taste some sweet ingredients for me later. " He pointed out. She was the taste tester after all.

Haine scooted up, leaning her back against the chair. A very lethargic Miska looks up at her, his eyes droopy. He groaned at the sudden movement, looking up at Haine. "Oh I'm sorry, Mees." She scooped the fluffy bear into her arms, turning her attention to the duo which made their way over. She noticed Pingu first, all covered in flour from her kitchen endeavors. The blue haired woman chortled. "So, I'm assuming the assistance was a bust?" Pingu padded over to the couch, climbing up to sit beside Haine. She side eyed the little cub she was holding, folding her arms in retort. It was hogging all the attention from her two favorite humans, and whenever she seemed to come at him, the little cub trembled. She figured a thing as mighty as him would know how to punk back.

Haine, having noticed the bird's bitter gaze, bopped the top of her head. "Hey, be nice!" She rolled her eyes and then turned her attention to Kil. "Mmm, you don't have to ask me twice! You'll have to give me a hint later." She stroked Miska's white fluff, holding him up to her chest. She could feel his warmth radiating on her. "So, I found a quest we can do. Lemme send you the deets." She swiped through her HUD and sent him the message.

The information came just a second later. Information was brought up and he began reading the details of the quest. Hand reached over and rubbed the bears head while looking at the coordinates."That is not that far away from here..."He added and looked at Haine. He picked up his glass and handed it to her to drink. It was a nice cold iced coffee he had managed to get made from his kitchen shop. It had a touch of white mocha that gave it a light creamer texture.

Eyes looked over at their familiars for a moment."Want them to tag along?"He figured it would be a good bonding experience to level with each other. He simply tilted his head watching Haine now. Hair fell to the left a bit as his amber eyes connected with her own." I don't mind this quest. We could get  it done and be back  by dinner time. " He looked at the rewards. Not bad, he thought. It might be good to do.

"Yeah, exactly! Why didn't we do this before?" She thought aloud, with a cock of her brow. It was a frugal option too, with the location being within walking distance. She could spare some crystals today. She accepted the glass from her love and swished it around. "Ooh, what's this?" She brought the cup to her lips and inhaled a scent of rich coffee. She eagerly sipped at it, savoring the flavor. "Ooh, it's perfect! I'm stealing this from ya'." She stuck her tongue out at him and sipped some more.

She questioned whether the two should come along. The bluenette worried for their safety, as they were by all means untrained. She sunk back into the cushion and hummed. "I... guess? We need to keep an eye out for them, they're a bit unruly." Nonetheless, there was no better situation for them to bond than in battle. The two couldn't co exist otherwise. "So, troopers, you ready for an adventure?" Pingu, at the mere mention of adventure, squawked and ran off for the door. She was tired of having to house sit. Miska, as sleepy as ever, groaned at the ruckus the penguin caused. He buried his face onto Haine's chest.

She practically downed the iced coffee. She turned to Kiluia. "Well, let's get moving'!" She set Miska down on the carpet. "And You, you need to wake up, bud." He yawned and arched his back, stretching.

He stood up and checked the map around the coordinates from their home. He adjusted the route to a safer one to avoid any disruptions accordingly. His drink was stolen... but he stole a kiss on her cheek before walking away to grab his things."Theres more in the fridge." He pointed out before grabbing his armor and putting it on. He picked up a little elf like hat and placed it on Pingu's head. "Lookin good." He smiled as the group began rolling out.

"Some of these monster names.. they are supposed to be scary. I kinda wonder what this one looks like and if its anything like we know in the real world." He said as the pengin waddled behind them. The humidity picked up but it wasn't discomforting at least. They would  survive this trip with what they had on. "About a 30 minute walk. " He looked at her and grinned.

Haine stepped out the door, the cub following suit. He was a straggler, still under the effects of his recent slumber. "Well, most likely, it'll be hideous." She untied her ribbon and worked her hair into a ponytail. "Wanna know what I'll never fight?" The topic came to mind randomly as she thought of all the hideous mobs she'd encountered. "Giant spiders or roaches. Just, bleh!  She itched her arms. "I mean, have you seen those things before?" She shuddered at the imagery. "What about you? Are there anything's that trip you out here?" In the beginnings of the death game, there was a learning curve the woman had to go through to get situated. Most mobs she encountered looked daunting until she grew accustomed to the fact that they were all pixels.

Miska had finally caught up to the group. Pingu, with her evil eyes, looked back at the bear. His ears flattened as he moved to Haine's other side. It did not go unnoticed by his owner. "Oh, come on! This is gonna be a bonding experience for you two, okay?" She pointed at the sour penguin. "It'll be fun, okay?" She bent down to pat the bird's head.

The bird squawked at Haine for petting her head in response to the comment. Her eyes leered back at the bear one more time before ignoring it. Kil raised his hand and pet Haine's head. "In due time, they'll get along." He looked at the familiar and gave her a nod. Defeated, the penguin trudged along with the group into the humidity. Surprisingly, she was able to keep up without breaking too much of a sweat. Kiluia thought for a moment and looked over at Haine." I'm not too big a fan of insects but that doesn't mean I won't kill them." He pondered a bit more. " I'm not a fan of swimming. I prefer not to swim since it makes me feel uncomfortable."

He picked up the cub along the way since it would be more efficient for them to walk this way. Eyes would glance over to his beloved once more and he spoke. " Do you remember when you asked me about my favorite memory? Aside from that memory...Its everyday now. The memories we make here in this strange data world. Its hard for me to express just.. I'd rather do this with you than anyone else here." He wasn't romantic or anything. This was pure honesty as he was dwelling on that thought of memories.

She leaned into his head pat. Her frown lightened at the reassurance, she wouldn't stop until these two were civil with each other. The animosity was mostly on Pingu's end, with the cub being outright petrified by the other. She intervened every now and then, but she wanted the two of them to work things out on their own terms. She was sure Pingu would come around. Albeit the bird's feisty disposition, she had a soft side deep down.

At the topic of insects, she scrunched her nose. "Perfect! You're killing them then." And that was the day he solidified his fate as the bug killer around the house. She was disgusted by those miniature interlopers, she couldn't bring herself to kill them. The mention of swimming prompted her to cock a brow. "Uncomfortable? Why?"

His next confession caught her off guard. Her eyes softened. He was earnest, he wasn't trying to be romantic. It was something that spilled naturally. Still, it had an effect on her. Her cheeks tinged a soft pink. "And I feel the same way..." She fixed her gaze on him, smiling softly. "I feel happier now. It was lonely living alone, but now I have you three. The excitement keeps comin.'" She wasn't sure where she was going with this. "What I love the most is how we can be awkward together." She giggled softly. Pingu, having sensed the sappiness kicking in, waddled ahead of the duo.

Pingu knew when to leave when it came down to the duo becoming more engaged within their conversations. Therefore, he loved his familiar even more. The idea of making memories after having so many stolen from him, seemed foreign. The worst part about the stolen memories were that none of them were returning to him at all. “My sister almost drowned while taking me down in a pool when we were kids. I eventually learned how to swim but it wasn’t exactly the best circumstances.” He laughed a bit and placed a hand behind his head.

Her answer about how she loved the circumstances made him more smitten. She had the right words and understood how he felt. Even the awkwardness was beginning to fade away. He slid his hand into hers continuing to walk. It would not be much longer until the reached their destination. The trees were beginning to thin out and the lack of wildlife was becoming more evident. “Be on your guard…” While the quest may have been something easy, he was not willing to lose her in the process for undermining the creature and its own habitat that they were living around.

"Oh..." She didn't know how to reply to the revelation. She was just glad that the two of them made it out alive. She was thankful to have known this beforehand. The rambunctious bluenette was no stranger to pushing unsuspecting people into the water. "Well I'm glad you two are okay," she responded.

As they moved, the wildlife had grown scarce. Bright, lush greens transitioned into grey, shriveled ash. The air smelt of smoke and a thin veil of smog floated among the jungle floor. Instantaneously, the little cub began to shiver. Pingu, upon running into a cloud of smoke, sneezed. The fur on her back spiked at the looming threat. "Oh yeah. I think we're here." She fanned her way through the clearing. A good distance forward, she could hear a mighty roar. She shared a look with Kiluia and crept forward, until the two were within view of the creature. It was a gigantic tiger, flames licking at its sides. The two familiars were all but petrified now.

"Alright, I'm going in first!" She slapped Kil's shoulder and slid out from behind the trees. "Here, kitty kitty!" She swiftly unsheathed her glave, stabbing it onto the ground. A bold Pingu trailed behind her, ready for some action. On cue, the tiger came charging at the two. A blaze of fire came her way, and she maneuvered with record speed. She backed up to gain distance, and then charged up to the creature. She jumped off of its back, using the momentum to spear it from above. With a devastating blow, the creature was paralyzed on the ground.

"C'mon. Finish it off, love!" She hopped off of Byakko's back as quick as possible to evade the flames. Pingu, who was initially charging with her, was frozen in fear. She stood there dumbfounded. "We need to train these two." She shook her head.

Fingers were fully extended as he left the two familiars in the dust as Haine returned. With the creature paralyzed from Haine’s attack, all he had to do was finish the job. Legs moved at lightning speed toward Byakko in an arc. The creature had no way of protecting itself from any other types of attacks. “Got it!”

With that moment, Kiluia had managed to get behind the creature within a few seconds. He was still running at full speed before he leapt into the air roughly 40 yards behind Byakko. His long jump into the air was quite a sight to see as he extended both hands in front of him. Two fingers, middle and index respectively, were pointed out on each hand. He sunk both fingers into the nape of Byakko before Kiluia landed in front of the large mythical beast. He oddly felt bad for the majestic creature. It deserved a better story than what it had been reduce to. “Rest.” He spoke as the monster shattered into thousands of pieces. (Acupuncture EN9)

He looked the two familiars and tilted his head as they seemed terrified.” It’s okay guys..”

The sight was a comical one to behold. Pingu, who seemed to loathe the little bear, had been curled up with him. Sure, maybe she was using the polar bear as a shield, but it was... progress somehow. Haine knelt down to assess the situation. "Now, now, that was nothin'. Pretty soon you two'll have to fight along with us." She fluffed them both. "And you'll be just as cool." Pingu felt a little better. She chirped, and then noticed her wings were all over Miska. She recoiled in disgust and folded her wings, waddling off to Kiluia. The blue haired woman laughed.

She looked behind to see Byakko materializing. It was a shame they had slain such a beautiful creature. She looked away from its face, unsettled by its still open eyes. She stood up again and made her way to the man. "So," she put a hand on his shoulder. "What do you wanna do now?" She paused for a moment and then, her eyes lit up. Before he had a chance to speak, she put a finger to his lips. "Aha! Why don't we go shopping? I was thinkin', we could get some outfits for those two." Haine scratched her head. "For battle flair?"

He dismissed the familiars fighting. Sooner or later, one of them would just establish dominance and just take the lead or the two would be on even terms and must respect each other. The thought of them just playing it cool right away would be almost impossible at the moment until they were both trained. His eyes followed his penguin and a tilt of his head was given. At least, she would listen to Haine now. A hand patted the top of her little head.

Her thoughts about shopping seemed plausible as he nodded.” Why not? They deserve something other than rolling around naked.” He had been thinking of getting his penguin a cap and a sword. It would be a general look for her as she would look cuter than the adventurer. He looked at her and spoke. “Do you think Pingu would look good in a cape?” He was looking at the cub now thinking how he would look in a different outfit.

"Yes, of course!" She clasped her hands together. "Actually, I think I could even make her one. Let's go home?" She matched her stride with his on the way back to the house. The jungle habitat regained its life as they moved closer to home, the fog and ash lifting. The sunlight broke through the treetops. The two familiars, having stared each other down, were a good ways behind the two. She fanned at her nape, the humidity picking up. "Ugh, the air's kinda thick. Let's hurry!"

"As for Mees... maybe a belt?" She opened her inventory while she walked, pulling out a large green handkerchief. "Now this would make a cute cape." She gestured for Pingu to come closer, and the penguin gladly left the cub behind. The woman knelt down, tying the cloth around the bird's  neck. "So, what do ya' think, bud?" The penguin chirped and ran ahead of them. She assumed she liked it, she didn't try to take it off.

The humidity of the heat caused sweat to form over his brow. It was indeed slightly warmer today than most days. He glanced over at how Haine was handling the heat and it seemed as though that she was suffering just as much as him. “It’s a little warmer due to the humidity. I think it actually might rain.” He looked up to see the cloud cover.

The belt idea seemed plausible as he nodded in agreement. The green cape, however, made him grin as he walked back with the trio. Pingu looked like a superhero as she ran off ahead. He pulled a cold bottle of water out of his inventory just as the sight of the house came into view. “Here. You need to cool off a bit.” He was more concerned about her health above his own since his own armor generated heat every place he went. “I’m thinking about expanding the house.  Think it’s a good idea?”

The house came into view, and with that, the temperature was slowly regulating itself. The perimeter of the house had its own temperature to accommodate their taste. She was lost in thought, smiling in adoration as the penguin skipped by. She was a little ball of energy, it wasn't hard to fall in love with her. Kiluia's voice snapped her out of her reverie. "Hmm?" A house upgrade? She gaped. "But... our house is huge already?" She couldn't imagine it getting even bigger. "What were you thinking of?" In her eyes, it was perfection, more than she could ask for.

They'd finally arrived at the gate. She unlocked it and slipped past the entrance. She leaned against the stone fence,  observing the exterior. She folded her arms. Even after all this time, she found it hard to believe that the reality she lived in was real. It felt too good to be true, being with him. A part of her was waiting to wake up.

“While the house is big, I want to add an attic and a few more rooms to get the buffs they create.” He looked over at her as they stood at the entrance of the house. He looked over to her and perked a brow as she was seemed a little lost in thought. “What’s bothering you?” He would ask her. Her look seemed a little distant to him.

“If you do not like the idea, that’s fine. I just want to live with you and the familiars. Though, I do want to probably upgrade both of our workshops. I have to find more material when the time comes.” He moved swiftly and stood in front of her and looked down at her small frame. Despite being small, she was extremely powerful. He leaned down and looked into her eyes. “Please be honest.” He flashed a smile to her with a tilt of his head. He wanted to act cute?

She didn't notice she was spacing out until the other cut in front of her, bringing it to his attention. She noted the tilt of his head and the smile he flashed. Just why was he being so adorable? She chuckled at him. "No, no, It's great!" She waved her hands. "I think it'll be useful." From the angle, he looked much taller than her. It made her small, protected. She pushed herself off the gate and took a few steps forward. She stretched, cracking her back. "I think we should build a space for these two too." Speak of the devils, they had just passed through the gate.

Pingu was ready for a dip in the pond. She waddled past the side of the house, making a beeline for the pond. Miska, not wanting to be left alone, followed suit. "Well, they've chosen. Off to the pond we go."

He watched as she answered frantically to him. He loved the fact he had that effect on her. Her reaction to him was classic as he felt more comfortable with her every day. Perhaps he could show her more affection but that would come later. He stretched slightly before following suit.  While the trio went to the pond, he walked to his workshop to get them a snack to enjoy for the rest of the day. The familiars would receive freshly cut fruit like apples and oranges while the duo could snack on some pastries like cookies and some tea. He grabbed all of it balancing everything with precision.

He walked over to the trio and set the food down. He looked up at her and tilted his head. He looked at her and nodded.  “I will look at the schematics and see what we can do to make the familiars comfortable.” He sat beside her and placed an arm around her. “Let’s just enjoy the rest of the day okay?”
