Her eyes snapped open with a gasp as she awoke with a cold sweat. Her hands grabbed the blankets underneath her tightly until her knuckles became white. Her breathing was uneven from whatever nightmare she had awoken from. The details of the Nightmare began to fade as she woke up, all that remained was a wicked smile in the darkness. Getting a grip on herself, she let go of the blankets and looked across her bedroom to stare at the mirror. Her eyes met the violet-eyed silver-haired player who sat in the reflection. She broke her gaze and got up, reequipping her Shadow's Silence armor.

'What was it I was supposed to do today? Oh right... I just helped Ayame with her familiar.Assuming the girl stayed over in her room, Hidden would step down the stairs, and push open the front door. The sun was just beginning to rise from the horizon, casting a golden light over the second floor. The girl dressed in black would step forward to the garden-like area across the path to her house where she would ruthlessly murder slimes for a bit of extra experience. With that out of the way...

Hidden returned to the house and knocked on the door to the young girl's bedroom. "Ayame? Are you in there? If so, it is time to get up!"

The young girl popped up out of her bed, her hair a mess and her eyes drowsy. The giant cat in her lap jumped down instantly as her position shifted. Her brain took a moment to register what her sister said before she replied.

"Its so early." The girl hopped out of her bed and opened her door, wearing her long t-shirt like she usually does when she sleeps. The girls lazy eyes looked up to her sister and yawned. "What are we doing today then? You have your gear on, so I expect we're going to do something today?"

While she talked, she started to grab her own gear, including her new dagger. This would be the first time she would have the chance to actually use it. The girl examined the blade as she moved back over to Hidden. "I'm really allowed to use this?" She asked.

"Also I'm hungry."

Surely enough, the young girl had been sound asleep in her bed. Hidden was answered with a yawn as the girl arose with a stretch. As the girl complained about the time, Hidden shook her head in response. "It is only about seven. You'd be getting up for school or something in the real world right about now." She watched the girl begin to equip her gear as she began to ask where they were going. "You should just assume we are going on some quest that is ridiculously easy by now." Hidden replied nonchalantly.

The white-haired girl stepped outside of the room and into the living room to wait for Ayame. As the young girl came out, she brandished Shadow's Infection, Hidden's old weapon. "Of course I am sure you can use it. I haven't used it in a while, so I had better put it to some good use. Giving it to you seemed like the best thing. Consider it a hand me down."

However, the girl's final comment wasn't as quickly answered by Hidden. As the girl mentioned she was hungry, Hidden's own stomach growled. "I don't know how to cook in this game okay. So getting food at this house is practically out of the question. I know a few friends who can make food but they're probably busy getting ready for the boss raid or something."

After looking over the dagger for some time, Assassin returned it to it's sheath around her belt and adjusted her cloak so that it fell in front of her. The black cape covered her from all sides. "Yeah, but we went into that tunnel with that scary monster. I don't want to have to fight anything like that again." She admitted following her sister out into the living area as they spoke. Her hand smoothed out her snow-white hair.

"When we're done with this can we go and get something to eat then? I spent a ton of time practicing with and leveling yesterday to help train Hyou and I didn't really get to eat anything." The girl said, holding her rumbling stomach. Hidden's stomach growling only made her more hungry. "Hyou is fine now. We made sure to get whatever it was out of her. I think it just needed time to get out of her body or something. I was so scared..."

Maybe she had become to lax with the girl. She was complaining quite a bit. "You know, I never said you have to come with me anywhere." However, to satisfy the girl's hunger, she brought out a sandwich from her inventory. "Here, it isn't much but it is all I have the skill to make." She handed the girl the combination of bread, cheese, and lunch meat. "Now let's get going. Today, we are going to a floor that I bet you haven't been before. It is pretty high up."

She stepped out into the morning light of the second floor. She had read a small amount about the upcoming quest, and it was different. They were essentially going to climb up a mount and stab it until it died. It wasn't going to be as easy as the previous ones. They were jumping up to quite a bit and into the range where frontliners roamed. The enemies would be increasingly difficult from here on out and she might actually have to end up buffing herself to take down the upcoming quests.

Assassin took the sandwich from her sister and smiled happily at her. "Thank you!" With large bite, she tore off a piece of the food and swallowed it, feeling better already. The two headed out of her house and started to make a their way to the floor teleporter, which was always far away considering how much Hidden enjoyed being away from others. Sooner or later, they would make it to town though.

"I haven't been to too many of the floors above ten yet, so probably haven't been there. I went to the big meeting thing with Ariel though." Assassin replied as the two of them approached the teleporter. "Which floor are we going to? I'll follow right behind you." The girl said, then fished the sandwich that she was given. She looked back to make sure that Hyou was following them this whole time. She wouldn't be able to fight without her familiar, after all.

Hidden pulled another sandwich from her inventory, munching on it along with Ayame. While she was a bit embarrassed eating in public like this, she was just as hungry as Ayame. Her eyes remained forward, searching for any potential threats as she had done since day one of Aincrad. She constantly bagged on Raidou for being overcautious, but in reality she remained constantly on high alert. He may not realize it, but she too was prepared at most times.

They finally stepped before the teleport pad and Hidden paused to hear Ayame out. "Yeah, I was at the big meeting to. Didn't seem to accomplish much. They weren't joking when they said the frontlines was out of balance." She took a step upward, escorting Ayame with her. "Which floor are we going to? I'll follow right behind you." Instead of answering, Hidden just voiced the command. "Floor nineteen." With a flash of bluelight, they now stood on the nineteenth floor. "Today we are fighting a mountain. Get prepared to climb." she told the small girl.

Assassin listened as Hidden called out to ye' ol' teleporter gods to what floor she wanted to go to. With a smile, the girl stepped up to the platform and repeated what her sister had just said. "Floor Nineteen!" The moment that the nauseating colors and whir of sounds ended, Hidden was already talking about beating up a mountain or something. She was strong, but she wasn't totally sure they could kill a mountain. Wouldn't it be an immortal object?

"Well, okay, but we're killing a mountain? Can you kill a mountain?" She asked, thinking about how you would really go about that. If you just stabbed it enough, it would die right? A walk out into the unsafe-zone of the nineteenth floor, Assassin was already feeling a bit worried. Only more when a shadow loomed over the two girls, the shadow of the colossus. Kaya gulped in awe before looking over to Hidden. "Um...Let's kill a mountain?

"Whether it is possible or not, it doesn't matter." She would state in a bored manner. They ventured from the safe zone, dodging the guards to avoid dealing with their problems. Soon, the sun was blocked out from a figure so large that its head seemed to meet the clouds. However, the giant seemed to hardly notice them, and continued to step forward. Drawing her dagger from the sheath on the underside of her arm, she would look to Ayame. "I won't stop you from helping anymore. You are around the level of being able to decide what you can and can't take on."

She turned to face her opponent and darted forward, leaping upward at the Colossal's legs. As soon as she did it, the game revealed to her the weak points of the opponent. 'That is pretty high up though. It is going to be a bit difficult to climb up there.' She kicked up off the Colossal's, shooting higher into the air before using her dagger to stick up at the colossal's waistline. Only climbing from there on out.

  • Weak Points: Weak points can be found on both hands, chest, and head. These can only be attacked up to three times before the weak point is gone, and you have to move onto the next one. If you miss attacking it, it will not count as using one of the three chances.

[Note: To climb to a weak point, you must spend 2 Posts climbing to it, and this goes for every weak point]

  • Oblivious: Since the boss is so large and you have to hold on and climb, players have no way to get space to «Charge» for extra damage, nor can they try to Stealth or Track the creature, as it does not care.
  • Shake: Every three posts after the boss is found, «Colossus» will "shake" trying to get the player off of its body. Players have to grip onto the creature, rolling an LD to see how strong their grip is on the creature. The next post, «Colossus» will roll his own LD. If his LD is greater than the player, the player is thrown off, dealing 250 Unmitigatable damage to the player, and they have to restart their climb to the next Weak Point.

Assassin worriedly watched her sister charge into the fight. What she had said had made her stop for a moment. She was at a level to be strong enough to know what she should and shouldn't be fighting. This enemy was the strongest that she had met to date, but as long as she was with Hidden, she could feel safe.

After a few deep breaths, she turned to Hyou and smiled at her. "Stay close, but don't try to help. I don't want you to be turned into a waffle or anything like that." A quick pet and a nod of agreement and Assassin was rushing into battle just like her sister. With a strong jump, her footing was gained on the leg of the beast. She dug her weapon into it's stone skin and began to climb up the monster. There were some weak points where they would have to attack. Hidden was going for one of them, but if they split up and focused two, they could probably do more damage.

Their opponent didn't seem to have made note of their arrival yet, or he just didn't seem to mind. Hidden continued to climb, her hands grabbing the jagged rocks as if they were footholds on the enemy. This enemy was different then any she had to face before. The battle wasn't one of pure strength, it was of luck, strategy, and most of all, attrition. "Easy does it now." She would console herself as she made her way up to the opponent's arm. Luckily, it wasn't swinging as much as it were a human's arm. Upon making it to the enemies shoulder, Hidden would free fall down several meters before using her dagger to stop her fall. She now stood on the Colossus's wrist, in sight of the weak point on the back of his right hand. "Okay I made it here. Now I just have to get a good attack and kill it from here." so far, this quest didn't seem to difficult. The climbing was a bit annoying though. She wasn't one that enjoyed physical exertion.

2/2 Weakpoint reached.

Assassin struggled more with climbing since she was so much shorter than her sister. Though, after some time, she would find herself at the Colossus's shoulder. Hidden had fallen down the arm of the beast to focus one of it's glow-y parts. When climbing, stabbing her dagger into the thing didn't seem to do much so it made sense that they would need to attack on one of those. Looking around for any other spot that she could attack, she readied her dagger to jump on it. If the two of them piled on a single one of the marks, then they would just knock each other off.

Luckily, there was another spot that she could get her attacks off: Right on the crown of the creature's head. She would just need to climb a little bit more to reach that point. Turning to Hidden before she continued she yelled out to her. "Nee-Chan! I'm going for the head!"

"Nee-Chan! I'm going for the head!"

Hidden would call back. "Alright! I'll see if I can get this to work here!" She attempted to steady herself, but the giant seemed to be beginning to notice the two small insignificant pests that were crawling all over its body. Hidden thrust her dagger into its weak point, her dagger managing to slip in to the hard rock. 'If this wasn't a game, I hardly doubt anything but exploding it into bits would hurt it. A dagger definitely wouldn't.' However, the health of the creature only dipped by a bit. The beast began to tremble, Hidden slipped, barely holding on to the hand of the beast. 'This is not gonna feel good if I fall.' She looked up to Ayame. "Hold on and try not to fall!" She struggled to hold herself up. If she fell it was going to be real annoying having to climb back up. She wasn't a fan of this particular quest. Climbing? Not particularly her exact style. She enjoyed stabbing things and them falling.

Ayame finally found herself atop the head of the seemingly docile creature. The white light of a weak spot was visible on it's crown. With a grin, the girl raised her dagger to implant the blade into the beast's skull. Just as she did so, the Colossus shook with a force that she wasn't ready for. Her legs buckled out from under her, but thankfully she was able to grab a break in the rocks before she met her doom in the dirt below her.

Pulling herself back to the top of the Colossus's head, she rammed the dagger directly into it's weak spot, twisting the blade slightly as she pulled it back out. The damage that she did paled in comparison to the damage that Hidden could output, but every little bit would help kill this giant sooner. She just had to be sure not to fall off the side. It wouldn't be good if she did.

The trembling of the creature quickly began to become a violent shake. The quivers of the giant were comparable to an eathquake, leaving Hidden fumbling for a foothold. With one final shake, the girl found herself falling towards the ground. Silvery-white hair flowed in the air like a curtain as her body hurtled towards it, picking up speed as she fell. For a moment, fear grasped her heart as she faced death.

She closed her eyes for a moment, embracing the swift death from her impact on the ground. However, she remembered the girl she had left up at the top. Biting her lip, her eyes flew open. "Umbra." The Fox appeared from her shadow, wrapping itself around her form. Much like Raidou's familiar, it began to wrap over her skin, making a protective like barrier. As she slammed into the ground, Umbra absorbed quite a bit of the fall damage, leaving Hidden's health quite full. Quickly, She stood and began to climb up the beast, using Umbra to help pull her up. "Make sure she doesn't fall." She told the shadow, the creature ripping itself from her flesh before darting up the mountain with no problem.

The shaking of the Colossus finally halted. With the earthquake-like movements finally ended, Assassin took a moment to look down at Hidden to make sure that she was alright. Seeing her health bar first, she noticed right away that something was wrong. She had fallen off and hit the ground. It was just her up here now. Adrenaline was rushing. Kaya's nervousness took hold of her, mixed with a little bit of anger. She turned back to the weak spot that she was attacking, raising her dagger and plunging it into the skull of the beast without remorse.

"Don't hurt my Nee-san!!!" The girl screamed at the top of her lungs, stabbing her weapon into the titan's mass. She knew that Hidden could take a hit and her health was no where near in a danger zone, but she hated seeing her sister get hurt either way. She wouldn't sit here and let the monster bully them.

Weak Points: Weak points can be found on both hands, chest, and head. These can only be attacked up to three times before the weak point is gone, and you have to move onto the next one. If you miss attacking it, it will not count as using one of the three chances.
[Note: To climb to a weak point, you must spend 2 Posts climbing to it, and this goes for every weak point]

Oblivious: Since the boss is so large and you have to hold on and climb, players have no way to get space to «Charge» for extra damage, nor can they try to Stealth or Track the creature, as it does not care.
Shake: Every three posts after the boss is found, «Colossus» will "shake" trying to get the player off of its body.
[Note: LD items can come into effect when rolling, but no skills or mods that give an LD bonus can help]

Determined, she would climb to the opposite hand to begin her attack. It hadn't appeared like Assassin had fallen like she had which meant she was still fighting up there somewhere. However, she was afraid that with her angle and distance, it was hard to even see the top of the creature. The shadow fox most likely had reaches the top now. It was quite easy when it was essentially able to teleport through connecting shadows.

Her hands grabbed one handhold to the next, careful not to grab the sharp jagged ones that would cut her hand. It was quite a bit of work climbing the monstrous figure and she would be damned if it knocked her down again. This monster could have been as good as dead if she was still attacking. She had lost so much time just climbing up the monster. It really was a shame she couldn't just break it legs off from underneath it. "Alright... almost at the other hand."

The tiny and agile frame had some how kept herself from being sent of the side of the ginormous golem for way longer than she expected. When the adrenaline of her rage-induced spat had finally ended, Kaya got a look at Hidden's health bar. It was already improving faster than she initially expected. With that in mind, she was able to actually calm down and focus on the task at hand.

Soon, Umbra had joined her at the head of the beast, Hidden's pet, if you could even call it that. They way she bossed it around was way different than how she treated Hyou. It was hardly worth their time to argue about though. Gripping her blade tightly, the girl slashes across the crippling mark on the Colossus's scalp. The moment the damage was dealt, the weak spot exploded, making it unusable. The shock nearly sent her falling backwards off the side. If not for Umbra, she would surely have tasted the dirt far below her. "Th-Thanks Umbra." The girl said, patting the head of the shadow being once she regained her balance.

Hidden pushed off the rock giant, skydiving from the shoulder to the left hand that had been exposed by a weak point. She noticed that the marker near the head had vanished, indicating Ayame had already destroyed that particular point. She tilted in the air and began her sword art early, Eternal Cyclone taking her momentum and turning her body into a rapidly spinning bladed whirlwind. Her dagger met the weakpoint, digging into it with every slash of her weapon. Of course, her holy ability wouldn't activate and bring her the extra damage that she typically relied on. She supposed Ayame made up for that lost damage. Her attack ended, her stopping to rest on the hand for a moment. She assumed the monster was going to shake soon, but she could at least get another attack in. The hand itself was hard to grip onto, but she needed to stay on and keep attacking.

As Assassin's hand would touch the familiar, it would sink into the shadows, a bitter cold felt within. As the familiar had no physical form, it wouldn't be able to be touched in anyway.

Her hand passed through the shadow figure leaving a cold feeling within the familiar's body. Assassin's nerves shook for a moment but she knew that didn't reflect the fox's feelings for protecting her. Even if she was just following orders from her master, she was still going to make sure that Asssassin didn't fall off the beast.

With that being said, she needed to make her way to the next weak point. Looking for the indicator wasn't hard at all. The closest one that she could locate was on the giant's chest. She would simply need to slide down and hack it to pieces without falling off the Colossus's body. Easier said than done really. Climbing down was much harder than climbing up. She couldn't see where she was putting her feet thanks to the arc of the titan's chest. Wherever she went, the fox would follow, making sure that she wouldn't slip off without aid.
