[PP|F15] <<Bane of Blood>> Dangerous Territory

If Blood Bane had grunted before, now it certainly would even more than it did. A glimmer appeared in Chase's eyes as a very intense, light blue glow reflected from his blade made out of ice. He wanted to put an end to this as soon as possible, and that's exactly what he was about to help do. The moment the wolf jumped back, Chase was there to punish him with a vertical slash to its sides. The cut was deep and one of the massive, red gashes they were used to by now was left in his blade's wake.

What was even better was that ice had started to spread from the boy's blade, not only weighing the wolf down but also happening to encase the monster's legs, holding it down to the ground firmly and letting it become an easy target for NIGHT to strike down. "While it's frozen, beat it dead.", he gave her a quick nod and retreated himself, wanting to leave her enough room to attack freely.

Grinding teeth teeth. Even as her battle healing worked to mend the wounds their target had inflicted, NIGHT still disliked the pulsing of her bar at the corner of her eye. Just as ChaseR signaled to her the out of their problems, the player rushed in with a trick of her own -- that freeze was an adequate band aid solution to what might be Blood Bane's invariable ace, the detail only floated about in the woman's own messages. She'd never once seen it in action.

She hoped she never would.

One blunt blow to the warg's forehead as it struggled about in its icy prison. The blast was enough to shatter the glass around its paws and cause them to dig into its fur, whilst the impact knocked the wolf back into a dizzied, drunken pace. NIGHT circled the creature, moving in a slow shuffle as she shifted her blade out to protect her form once again.

Just a few more strikes, some luck on their side, and it would be over.

It didn't seem like Chase had overestimated Blood Bane's power in the end. It was more like NIGHT had underestimated to mob for how powerful an opponent it could be- and a quick look sent her way was enough to understand she was beginning to worry, even if it didn't show too much. If she began to use stuns against it, she was scared of the damage it could deal and there was no other way of going around it. "Didn't use all these items in vain after all, huh?", he asked back, although rather than sounding cocky, he was more so concerned.

Not as much for himself as he was for her. Sure, the fight was just dragging on. But unlike players, monsters didn't have energy. They could fight forever if they have to, and Chase hadn't ever dragged a fight long enough to understand whether or not they would keep going with no deficit to their own stats or not. He wasted no more time thinking about it before moving forwards and landing another strike at the elusive canine, lowering its health that much more and shouting at NIGHT. "Let's finish this!"

"Didn't use all these items in vain after all, huh?"

One by one, NIGHT's fingers resettled on her blade. "As long as they helped in taking out an enemy, they can't be." She had her doubts that there was anything special that would occur with her blade and the fight now; Incarceration was lost on it, but their teamwork made up for the lack of technical planning. ChaseR dove back into the fray taking a swing at their staggered foe, and NIGHT followed right after, setting her blade behind her to one side.

The rumble she'd felt in her grip the moment she'd channeled her killing intent was notice enough that her sword felt the same about their opponent. NIGHT halted towards its rear, and the red flare of the gem in her zweihander seemed to catch the attention of the warg as it turned around to face her. A piercing migraine? The wolf let out an unusual, pitiful yelp as it attempted to dance away from the optic's sharp gaze, and the player took the opportunity to cull its remaining health down by half.

Whatever its ace move that NIGHT was worrying about all this time, it wouldn't get to use it. As soon as NIGHT had made her little remark and caused the boss to stagger one final time, Chase took the chance while there was still an opening. He swiftly dashed forward and pulled his blade back before stretching his arm forwards, stabbing right at the monster's side and slashing sideways to pull his blade out. By the time that his blade came out, it appeared to have been cut open, shattering into crystals.

He turned to look back at NIGHT with a wide grin, giving her a thumbs up and slowly sliding his blade back inside of its sheathe. Chase walked to her and waited for her own blade to disappear before he raised his hand, waiting for a high five as he said rather happily, smiling genuinely. "Good job, partner. We did it.". Coming from the usually emotionless- or negative- blueball, it felt rather congratulatory of him to be not just happy but also thanking somebody else for their efforts. He just hoped that she'd accept the kind gesture.

The bane's execution had been on point. No more than a few seconds before the beast was drawn and quartered, the gust that scattered its ashes washing its form away like a riptide. NIGHT let loose the held breath, glad that in their foiled execution they were still able to make quick work of the boss at hand. With a shimmer, she'd set her blade to the void, before her eyes caught sight of her enthusiastic companion, offering her an open palm.

A high five? It'd been so long since she went with one--

Their height difference meant that NIGHT had to elevate herself upon her tip-toes, but it didn't stop her from returning the gesture with a curt nod and the slightest hint of a grin. "Yeah, nicely done." Even if it felt strange to pat themselves on the back for their hunt, the player couldn't help but echo her friend's sentiments. What was it, along the lines of an infectious pride?

That must be it. Though, that reminded her of the item she was here to retrieve. "The last-hit drop," she continued, with a finger raised. "If you don't mind, that was what I was looking to get from here."
