» About:

Tadashi grew up in Fukuoka, one of the largest cities on the Western end of Japan. He lived a quiet life with his parents in their shop. His father owned and operated a mechanic shop, working on all manner of cars and trucks. Tadashi took a significant interest in his father's work from a young age, often shadowing his father while he worked. As soon as he graduated from High School in 2009 he became a full-time employee of his father, working to learn all aspects of the business in hopes of one day inheriting it.

After an entire decade of working for his father, he finally inherited the business in 2019. He had developed another interest in that time, however. He'd never really been a gamer, but sometime around 2015 he'd discovered the wide world of video games, and he had become (embarassingly) hooked. Whenever he wasn't working in the shop he'd be inside playing all manner of games, from more serious MMOs and shooters, to more casual point and click games while he worked out.

That was another thing, he was a big guy. Working his entire life in an auto repair shop did its part in keeping him muscular, but he had also made it a point to live a healthy lifestyle, working out routinely and staying on a strict diet. All of this came together to produce a man who positively towered over everyone else he knew by almost a foot. Not even considering his height, he was a solid mass of muscle, weighing in at around 300 pounds. All of it came together for a literal giant among halflings.

His father had ingrained a very good business sense in his time mentoring young Tadashi, so that when he took over he actually improved upon his father's business, expanding and streamlining their operation over the next three years. The business was more profitable than it had ever been, he'd secured them some exclusive contracts with local businesses and had gotten the word out about their slowly-growing enterprise. It was as such Tadashi was one of the first people in line when the NerveGear was announced and subsequently released. It had cost him a pretty penny, but he didn't regret it in the slighest and waited (somewhat impatiently) for the six months before the first game for the NerveGear was released. He had taken time off from his business specifically to play this entirely new territory in gaming.

If only he knew...

» Virtues
 » Strong-Willed

» Tadashi never cowers in the face of the enemy. When he's faced with a challenge he rises to the occasion, never conceding ground to the enemy. He's made it his mission in life to become as strong as possible, to defend the people in this game who can't otherwise defend themselves. Also because he's always played tanks in MMOs, but he likes to explain it more heroically.

 » Intimidating Presence

» Noting quite says "Don't mess with me" like 300+ pounds of muscle vaguely resembling a person. He knows that he can look quite scary, and he doesn't hesitate to throw his weight around to get what he wants. Sometimes he wonders if the NPCs in this game are advanced enough to feel fear. How amazing would it be to stare down a floor boss into killing itself, no fighting involved?

 » Strategically-Minded

» Tadashi used to run a business, a fairly large one too. He has experience organizing a large group of people effectively. He really put that to use back in his old raiding days in WoW. Being able to organize 40 people to do exactly as you say, when you say it, is no easy task. He can always look at a problem, and determine the best course of action using the resources he has available.

» Flaws
 » Brusque

» What Tadashi possesses in strength and wisdom, he makes up for with a lack of common courtesy. He always says exactly what's on his mind and tends to forgo basic manners. Why waste time with pleasantries when you can say exactly what you mean? Every moment they spend in this hellish game is time gone from their lives.

 » Slow to Act

» Tadashi doesn't like to act without knowing all the variables, sometimes to a fault. He prefers to step back and analyze a situation, as opposed to rushing in blind. This can often impact him when an unforeseen variable interferes with his plan. While he likes to think that he can account for every variable, he knows that there can always been unknowns. He has a hard time making snap decisions when people's lives on the line, because one bad call can result in very real deaths.

 » Loud

» Tadashi doesn't understand the concept of quiet. He's used to talking over the howl of engines and the whine of pneumatic wrenches. His voice is deep and bellowing, so when he talks he tends to drown out all other conversation. Likewise, its hard to move around quietly when you have so much to move. Why should he need to lurk around in the shadows? If there's a problem he'll face it head on!
