With all the time that Glory had to spare she decided to go out and do something simple which happened to be material gathering. It was also to clear her head and think about the situation currently going on. What would she do to survive? Glory knew she couldn't make it out alive alone and hardly had the confidence to fight due to timidness and so much insecurity that going out was even hard for her to do. Finding a secluded spot in the fields of floor 1 Glory decided to take time for herself and collect what the game guide called materials or "MATs" for short.

The first few attempts didn't go as Glory planned and actually failed which disappointed her but that didn't mean she was going to quit now. Glory needed this time to sort things out in her own little way with no interruptions from outside forces or people which was certainly her style. Plucking a flower to put in her hair Glory continued the search and roamed fields randomly, moving further and further away from the starting city with each step.

Boars and other creatures that were small and medium sized roamed the fields alongside Glory but didn't bother her. She felt very very tempted to reach out and pet one or cuddle with it to prove that not all mobs are monsters and that they too could be peaceful but knew the game systems would only think of it as her attempts to start a battle sequence which Glory did not want at all. She sighed at this thought. _{"I wish the game were different and let me hug a cute little wolf."} Talking to herself was no problem out in the open all alone with nobody to hear or think of her and so Glory didn't blush or anything when by herself.

Moving around animals to avoid much wanted interaction Glory plucked flowers here and there to throw them around and admire the beauty of the blossoms and petals. She kicked at grass and shuffled her feet while even moving to her knees to crawl on the ground. To an outsider who had no idea what she was doing this might look weird maybe even if they did know what she was doing her way of searching for materials would appear strange anyways. Good thing nobody was around so Glory didn't mind at all and even poked her head up to look around now and then and make sure nobody saw her.

It seemed that each attempt to find materials turned out to work out for Glory who though that this job would be hard to do and carry out. In the end she wanted at least 20 materials in all to call the day to an end. She thought that if she had a profession in the future that she needed all the materials she could get and until that day she'd collect as many as possible. Also this happened to be just for the heck of it because she needed something to do and wanted to venture out in the wilderness of the first floor. Maybe she could trade COL for her materials? Glory didn't know exactly what she would do with her collection yet and decided it depended on how many she got in the end.

Speaking of professions Glory knew she would like any job really but mostly enjoyed the thought of being a tailor because making more clothing-like items was something she knew she'd love. But then there was cooking which was what her mother did in life and doing that seemed entertaining and enjoyable along with providing because food was a necessity in life not to mention how much of a food enthusiast that Glory was. Deciding on a exact profession would be trouble.

So what would she do? Probably become a tailor because knowing herself Glory wouldn't be able to be in the presence of food all day without eating all or almost all of it. She wouldn't be able to help herself being a food fanatic and having quite the obsession with meals of course. Besides she had designed her own kimonos before and even sewed up a few pieces of clothing for less fortunate children with one of her aunts' and cousins before. Tailor it was but Glory didn't want to work until she was much stronger than she was now.

Now to think of what to do in the meantime. Well that was a easy one it would be leveling up and what all players called "grinding" as Glory learned by listening to other conversations though she didn't know if what she was doing counted as grinding. She thought grinding was specifically to hunt in order to gain levels, hunt creatures in the fields that is and not material search like she'd chosen to do. Already Glory had gained 1 level so material searching worked though she was much sure this took much longer than fighting which probably gave more EXP in the end.

She kept thinking back towards the adorable animals in the field that needed a little loving but couldn't receive it because they were designed for combat. Maybe there was a way to keep one just for you? Glory read about something like that in the game guide but couldn't remember all the details exactly and only knew that some animals could be tamed and kept sort of like a pet. Wouldn't that be nice? Glory knew she wanted a familiar in the future if at all possible.

She did remember that familiars could have skills like a regular player but their skills were so weak they were hardly noticeable but a little bit helpful to be useful. That got her thinking about which skills familiars would have and if the skills would be the same as a player's or unique because they were tamed animals. Probably unique but Glory still wondered what the buffs would be for familiars and how they could help a player out. She really did need to re-read about the tamed monsters again in the guide so if she ever wanted to have an animal she would choose the right skill for it if there were any at all. Who knows maybe the animal chooses its own skill.

Speaking of skills Glory began thinking about skills for herself to choose in the future. With only 9 skills available for one character out of many many skills she knew that choosing them would be yet another obstacle to face during her time in SAO. What was she going for? Since the very beginning she'd had the weapon skill she chose to get the extra damage needed for a low-leveled player and it was recommended in the game guide to do that anyways which is mostly why she had the Two-Handed Straight Sword skill.

Now why would someone so shy and not-so-tall like Glory be lugging around a large two-handed claymore sword? Well when she began gaming because of her friend Rikuto's prodding since she loved the style and options of skills Glory always picked a claymore as her weapon or any two-handed weapon for that matter. Even though her avatars would be short like her otherwise known as the ideal Japanese height they were always strongest and wielded the heaviest and most dangerous of weapons but were not tanks since she didn't like the idea of being one. Instead they moved gracefully and easily with these heavy weapons. Only now did Glory realize how unrealistic that was.

The thought of Rikuto made her feel guilty for getting trapped in the game and knowing him he probably felt about 10 times as worse as she did about the whole situation even if she was the victim. Unknowingly he sent her into a death game and she wondered how he was doing out there in the real world. Her father and mother would have acted dramatically he knew that but after this long she knew Riktuo's family and her own family would have made amends and rather awaited the day she come out of the game alive patiently. How bad she felt for them and how much she wanted to run into their loving arms and swear she was alright. Too bad that was impossible.

Her mother and father were two very emotional people along with the rest of her family. Glory had gotten lucky and she wasn't as emotional as the rest but more sensitive and gullible not so emotional unless something struck her heart very much and even then she'd apologize for her outburst to anyone around afterwards. Did they cry when they found out their poor child was facing death alone? Glory didn't really like thinking about this subject and would rather avoid thinking about the people close to her in the outside word so she stopped and instead changed up her thinking a little.

Instead of thinking about people close to her in the outside world she thought of those who weren't. How were people coping with all of this chaos and did they even care anymore about the incident than they did when it first happened? As far as she was concerned 2 years had gone by and the players weren't safely out yet not that she was underestimating the abilities of scientists or whoever was trying to get them all out she only wondered what they were doing and if they were taking all of this seriously.

So the police or whatever authority was handling the SAO game thing should have found the creator by now at least. Hiding can only last for so long of course but even if they did find Kayaba then would he tell them how to release his victims? Well that depended on the person and he didn't seem the type to feel guilt or remorse but if he ever changed his ways then Glory surely hoped he would tell someone or anyone how to help out these poor people stuck in SAO.

Speaking of poor people she couldn't help but think about that suicide pact group she almost joined how stupid of her to even begin to think of taking her life. Glory shook her head and tried to clear her thoughts as tears began to form and her heart dropped to her stomach. Those girls ignored her as they looked over the edge of Aincrad and were so traumatized that they saw that as their only way of escape from the game. Now they would never see the light of day and Glory thought it was all of her fault when it really wasn't.

Why did she even want to commit suicide in the first place? The answer to that was a hard one but super obvious at the same time Glory just didn't even want to think about it. Well it was because she thought it was the only way out for a short time and was to afraid to confront her own feelings so in such a large group wanting to end it all together she felt at home and way confident. Luckily in the end she realized the right from the wrong and became scared along with brave enough to not do what others were.

Not being able to forget her first day in SAO Glory tried to take her mind off things but found out that she couldn't. Luckily a small bunny hopped over near her and nibbled at a flower which instantly made her go "awwww" and reach for the animal. She gasped and jumped back forgetting she wasn't supposed to approach MOBs herself but was surprised to see it let her pet it and didn't attack at all. So maybe some animals were just for cosmetic effect?

While petting the bunny a few more times Glory stretched her limbs and yawned realizing the sun was already beginning to set which was her cue to start heading home. _"Sayonara! Glory waved goodbye to the animal and began walking in the direction she came from to track back to the starting city which could be seen in the distance. Even if she couldn't see buildings in the distance over the skyline she had been going in a sort of straight line the whole time so finding her way back would be easy.
