Looking back over at Teayre he gave a calming exhale, "I'm going to keep her safe, I may not be able to hit as hard as earlier, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to hit this thing as hard as I can!" Turning back towards the PumpKing the Grand Blade glowed with a shining golden aura, the color of his most powerful Sword Art, <<Meteor Break>>. Flying forward he slammed his shoulder hard into the boss, aided by his <<Charge>> skill as he unleashed the barrage of slashes. Following this came yet another shoulder tackle before he leapt skyward, using a falling slash maneuver to complete his combo. Looking at the creature's health he gave a small sigh as he saw the creature's health only drop a small fraction. He gave a small, partially disappointed at his highest damage output, "Tch...is this still the best I can do? Once this is done I've got a lot more training to do." Stepping back he gave a nod to his teammates, stepping back as he kept his eyes on the oversized pumpkin. Looking over he gave a friendly smirk at Tristan, even though it was concealed by the Grand Chariot: Legacy's emotionless helmet, "Tristan! Knees bending slightly Teayre dived straight for the boss. Her <Charge> skill imbuing the katana in her hands to glow an even brighter purple from the sword art than usual. The red head’s relentless assault seemed to be never ending until Teayre sliced through one of the vines that had started to sneak back around to her. “No, you’re going to die. For what you and your minions put Calrex through.” Glowering at the boss Teayre stood there hand on her hip right in front of the creature. Calling back to the rest of the raid party the girl smiles to herself. “Everyone. She had a single purpose as the blonde specialized in it since long ago. Hit hard, one target until it no more and right now the target was conveniently from the beginning set, the event boss. Its HP bars had, after a light healing trick, been brought down to about a half. 'Not sure if I'm gonna get another hit' she thought, not bothering with the low energy she'll have after this next attack.She then began running towards the mob, the blonde was slower than in her initial attack, due to the absence of the charge skill but still fast enough to blearily be traceable with the naked eye, as she had taken full advantage of light armor gear's perks, one of it being unparalleled speed when combined with the <<Athletics>> and <<Sprint>> passives. Her initial attack struck the mob dead center, impaling half her rapier in its mass. She quickly retracted it and began to sidestep, running around the mob and hitting it until she made a full circle, leaving behind precisely 13 rapier sting marks at a even distance between one another. With a sigh she half turned around thinking 'All yours.' before going back by her team's side. The ghostly aura around the oversized pumpkin dispersed out into the night, no longer protecting the PumpKing and leaving it to the attack. However the Pumpking was not about to let this slide, swinging its giant vine and slamming it down on Tristan, who had to take the severe brunt of the blow and was launched a few metres. The PumpKing stared at the party, ready to take it on. «Ghost nourishment» at 650 HP the PumpKing heals itself 260HP each turn for 3 enemy turns by having the ghosts of the dead be absorbed. But, looking at the boss's health bar, bad memories came back. Memories of the last boss fight. Again Lowenthal seemed to do anything, but deal damage to the boss. Lowenthal took a few steps back. The boss seemed larger, than before. Lowenthal looked over at Tristan, who had just took a massive vine whip to his shield. Lowenthal looked back up at the boss, and if one of those massive vines were to hit him he'd perish. Just like the things he was killing in this world. And for the first time in a long time, Lowenthal felt fear. If his kunai wasn't wrapped around his finger, he would've dropped it. "I'm, I'm strong enough." Ssendom 0 Posted November 10, 2015 #46 Report Share Posted November 10, 2015 Ssendom chuckled when he watched the Giant Pumpkin deliver a massive strike into Tristan, he had planned for when a few allies came down a bit in health that he would use his Banner of Support to demonstrate that not only was Ssendom a Leader, and a Fighter, he was a strategist and was after keeping the entire group alive though he felt that the PumpKing wouldn't give this group any trouble in actuality. He reached his hand out and in materialized his Banner of Support, the giant flag flowing the sign of the Azure Brigade. He lifted the flag up while holding his Greatsword in his other hand, then slamming it into the ground causing a wave of light to expunge from it and go through every single player. Those with the lowest HP got to feel the effects personally of Ssendom's selfless action, "I'll keep you guys standing when no true support style players are here to assist. If you need assistance call out and I'll keep you standing." He said as he gritted his teeth, he hated the fact that he wasn't being the completely and true brute Berserker he knew himself to be, but ultimately this was necessary since he did care about Innocent Lives. First, the boy Zelrius had destroyed all three of the Scarecrows that had been dropped to their knees by her own efforts, and from the looks of it he hadn't exactly needed the assist either. But that wasn't the end of it, as only a short while later, her eyes narrowed to a pair of sharp creases as a trio of sickly green lights arose from the leaf-littered ground before being absorbed by the assault's sole remaining survivor. Just like that, the brutish pumpkin overlord's health skyrocketed up by at least 250 points. Three more times this happened, until once again the opportunity to act presented itself so clearly. Having returned Masamune to its casing shortly after her previous round of strikes, she took to a full speed <<Sprint>> in the direction of the massive target known as the PumpKing. The steely blade within glinted faintly as it peeked out from its scabbard with a barely-audible click. Even as the majority majority of its length remained concealed, it glowed brilliantly nonetheless. One step away from the enemy, and her fingers clasped tighter around the wrapped grip of her weapon. Zelrius ran forth, making his eight attacks as he had done for pretty much the first time. The boss fight had been going rather well, and things were working in the favor of the party to an extreme amount, the only exception being the Pumpking healing the glorious amount of HP that he did. Nonetheless, Zelrius had brought back down a few pegs. One particular sword which had a black llumination with its swing went right through the thick hide of its protection and damaged it to the core, causing a lot of damage. The boss once again went for Tristan as its most hated target and slammed the vine down on them again, tossing Tristan like a ball. It wasn't as severe as the minions the damage did to Calrex but he was receiving a considerable beating for sure. It was easy to forget just how deadly these enemies were when one rarely had to deal with the full brunt of their attacks; in fact, he could still remember a certain scuffle which had left him a round away from death, back when he and Takao had set off in search of Cerberus. It hadn't even been the three-headed mutt itself which had wounded him, but rather the pack of hounds which had quite literally hounded him, disregarding entirely his top-notch evasive capabilities. Azure or not, smugness was hardly a crime which warranted a death sentence. Instinctively, he raked the air with a swipe of his hand, and within moments a panel displaying his inventory blinked into view. He stared for a moment at the contents of his screen, until the realization hit him- that he had not packed even a single crystal from out of his entire stock. With a shake of his head, he batted the window away the back of his hand, his eyes narrowing as the screen whirled a short distance before flickering out like an old light bulb. Tristan would just have to make do with what he had in the meantime, he thought, as he drew Chemikaze once again. Ducking and weaving past the gourd king's whipping vines, Azide finally closed in upon the boss, and cleaved off the smallest sliver of its orange skin. With it, he saw the PumpKing's health fall to a nice, round five hundred. Tristan Delaney 0 Posted November 11, 2015 Author #51 Report Share Posted November 11, 2015 For the second time now, after missing so much, the giant vine of the boss slammed into Tristans shield, sending him skidding backwards from the force and taking a great deal of pressure onto his shoulders. It was a placebo pain mostly the strain felt from the sheer force. He could only trust his power that he was currently even still alive, but it wasn't enough. He growled to himself when he realised that his tanking was just not good enough and that he needed more to become the tank he wants to be. Assessing the situation based on what occured, he barked some orders of sorts, though more a request dealing tanking with him. "Alright listen up on how to keep me alive for longer! I have Parry active so I can take half on this next attack, but afterwards I want at least 1 Person from Group 1 to stun the boss so it cannot attack after when my Parry effect runs out. Got it?". He only hoped what he said was listened to. After all the Stun immunity from the monster status was gone, but he realised with that temporary Stun immunity they could just not stunlock it. However, she knew that her role was to deal damage, as she did not have a high enough stun to strike the boss. That was partially the problem with her as she was not strong enough as of yet, but she knew that in the future she was going to have to have more utility and less damage focus. As she watched the battle had come a long ways since they were going to be wiped out by the scarecrows, and it was now down to them with a somewhat alive pumpking here. Rebekah knew that she was going to have to land a decent strike to ensure that group one would be able to finish it off. But she had missed once again, today was just not her day. Lucky for them, the heavy hitters in the group were able to knock most of that HP back down again as quickly as it regenerated. Everything seemed to be going well until Tristan, the tank that was taking all of the hits from the PumpKing, was slammed twice in a row.. knocking his damage down almost about half. Jomei grit his teeth as he watched this player, who was much higher leveled than him, approach death rather quickly. He called out to the others that he needed to be stunned again, but group one would need to do so, so that the stun lasted long enough for Tristan to heal. Jomei nodded his head, he had been the one to stun it last time, but looks like the timing of his stun was not crucial to keeping it off of their backs. He decided the next best thing to do would be to land an attack on the enemy.. but he could not spot a decent enough spot to attack, for its tentacle like vines that moved around its body would pick up Jomei's approach and smack him like they did Tristan. Spinning his blade in his hand, he decided to wait until a better opportunity to attack. Looking back over at Tristan and his low health bar, Jomei realized something. It was not much, but he had a simple Healing potion that he had sitting in his inventory. Tristan could probably use that a lot more than Jomei could right now. Timing his run right, Jomei sped past the whipping vines and made his way to the red haired tank, opening his inventory quickly. "Tristan, here. Its not much, but it'll help." He took the healing potion out of his inventory and broke the bottle in his hands, so a pink aura surrounded the hand he held it in. Her glare continued to pierce through as the rest of the raid made their moves, some of them hitting some of them missing. Gritting her teeth as Tristan barks out orders to them Teayre spits on the ground. Her eyes however momentarily glanced at her blue haired partner who had just engaged the boss his sword art slowing it’s movements down. Without hesitating Teayre followed up his attack, the Oikawa Kanashiki giving off a bright purple glow as the red head’s blades cuts into the Pumpking in numerous places orange goo seeping out from where her blade hits. Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted November 11, 2015 #57 Report Share Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) All was going within acceptable conditions, the dps members did their job while the boss was healing a bit with some help from 'unearthly' friends that of course were computer generated like this whole floating castle and its residents. In the distance, Ariel could hear people bark orders but she cared little for words of people that she didn't know or cared for. From all the people present, she truly cared of the fate of less than a handful of them. One received major damage earlier but got put back into a relatively decent shape immediately and now even stunned the boss. The other one had just dealt a good amount of dmg to the boss as she was working in tandem with the previous. And Ariel was confident enough that a certain blonde in the 3rd team was doing just fine HP wise, even if she seemed to be in a bad mood. Her eyes went to the HP bars of the raid groups and saw Tristan taking a hit once again for the team. Her first intention was to ignore him as his 'request' already got granted by Calrex and as she didn't like his voice tone at the time. She wasn't a Brigadier anymore, so any kind of word from a Commander would far on deaf ears but.... she was a Guardian, even if last of her kind apparently. The nagging in the back of her head was the remains of her vow to the guild, which was founded with the purpose to protect every player stuck in this floating prison to the best of their efforts. Showing a displeased expression she turns her head back to look at Tristan and grits her teeth, next her body move instantly and dashes for him. She sheath her blade and takes out a healing crystal mid-run than slams it on the tank's back as she did with Calrex. Used 1X(15) HP Recovery Crystal on Tristan. 3 remaining. But she didn't stop there, she still had her HUD inventory open and selected the 'Banner of Support Item' she had stored there. Next a giant flag, bearing the bluebird wings banner erected near them and pulsed a couple of times healing the two wounded tanks of the raid party. "This should be enough" she mumbled, more to herself but could still be hear by at least the redhead bearing the flaming shield. Missing her window to strike the boss she lets out a sigh as she rejoins her own group. She lets out smile as she sees the tank's life going in the green zone again, knowing that she put her guild's creed first before the urge to beat this overgrown vegetable to a pulp. It also no longer had any sort of saving grace from all the hits it was taking too, so was at the mercy of the players while the PumpKing rolled slightly while they were dazed from having their eye smacked and were unable to attack at all. He thought that these special event bosses were weaker than their floor boss counterparts, but they seemed to be as strong if not stronger than. He needed to get stronger, he was close to grand mastering his dagger skill. Once he did that, then. Lowenthal looked over at the other people who were attacking the boss. Then, he could be helpful, useful. Until then, he would do what he could. There was no more need to voice directive, it was simple by this point. Just maim the boss as brutally as possible and bring this event to a close. With his most powerful Sword Art available to him he smashed another good chunk out of the bosses HP bringing it easily in the red zone. With Opal, Zelrius, and Azide up after himself this bosses life was limited by mere minutes and with it's apparent struggle, Ssendom was assured the boss was dead soon.
