Today he was taking her somewhere very special, which also gave a drop that wasnt quite boss loot, but close. Having sent a message, all he said was "Bring your best because we're gonna do something special today.". He was ready to tank like all hell for the event, but he was painfully aware of his lack of damage, but Flints was the exact opposite of his and thus, the perfect complement. Like the sword and shield, except instead of a sword it was vicious claws ready to slice and dice the enemy. He smiled at the thought of it, as he'll be able to keep her totally safe. Something greater than anything she had taken on before. She shivered at the thought of this battle. She didn't take the time to reply, she figured it would be best to just go on and meet him there. After some time she eventually reached Tristan and walked up to him and smiled. "Hello~" she gave a little bow and then glanced back up at him. "So what are we doing today?" "Well, I'm about to take you on one the hardest quests available. Before you punch me though, because of my taking and there being no AOE, you are totally safe. The enemies on the other hand, they will receive the brunt of your damage as my own is basically a turd. So...you're going to be my invaluable partner for fighting a special limited time event quest. "And as always, I'm down for whatever you throw at me!" She smiled up at him and walked along side him. "So what exactly is the limited time offer you're throwing at me and how many easy payments am I going to have to make?" She giggled. "I'm not rich so be gentle. My pocket can only take so much." After that a player can't rerun it and when enough have died, no one else can take it. So its a good time to be alive. Plus I hear it gives some very good drops, one which will strengthen my banner of support and for you who doesn't have one, you get a special weapon instead. It has some curious properties I've only seen on one of Zel's swords, but not quite as powerful. Still, it is a potent weapon so I'm happy to run it with you so you can earn it. So take anything you want to now, because we're going to go fight in a limited time war.". He grinned as he said it, excited and said " Okay I must admit though, most of my excitement comes from this being able to prove that we are great partners." And chuckled. Flints 0 Posted November 17, 2015 #6 Report Share Posted November 17, 2015 Flints listened to the red hair man diligently, she watched his movements carefully and took great pride in the fact that Tristan had chosen her to take up this quest with. She hoped she didn't disappoint. The sounds of Antillian's padding beside her was comforting, she tried her best to match stride with Tristan but his gait was much faster than hers, even if he was just slowly walking. when she heard of the winnings she perked up a bit. "So we both get cool things? Sounds even better, sounds like a war I wouldn't mind winning." She reddened when he mentioned he was more excited for proving themselves as a formidable duo above all else. "Okay then, let us not dawdle any further, as we have some really strong enemies to kill. You'll be fine, but it will still take time, as I wasn't lying when I said this was a hard quest, if not one of the hardest.". Tristan explained the situation to Flints of what had happened. "Basically when the Floor boss room was discovered, the angel Leothiel appeared and explained that Avarious, a fallen angel who is inside the boss room and said to be the floor boss, was trapped in the cathedral, but is breaking free. So...we need to beat the enemies that surround Avarious, so that we can hope to beat them and all. So...let's clean some trash." he said with a grin, then approached 8 of the souls in this entire town that was a battlefield between angels and fallen angels. He used Howl to attract their attention to him and keep his lover safe from harm. "Give me a moment. I got you." He tapped his inventory open and accessed the shared friend inventories between him and Dom and Zelrius where they all kept their items for ease of use. He took some items and transferred them to his personal one, then sent them immediately to Flints to use when she wanted. "Alright there you go. The Alcoholic has a debuff so stacks with the crystal buff, and the crystal being what it is, takes no time to use so you can take both at the same time so will give you +6 damage for the entire fight. The Electrolytes is for energy regeneration later. That should have you sorted for this fight suitably I'd say.". He smiled as he looked at her. She stared at the menu blankly before accepting them. "Thank you, this would make me feel way more useful with these!" She gave a sigh and used one of the alcoholic and the blood crystal. She looked at the electrolytes and blushed, happy that Tristan had thought ahead for her so she wasn't flailing around Waiting for her energy to return. "This battle was going to take a lot of spirit." She thought to herself. Tristan nodded to Flints for what she said with a smile and said "Well I don't want you to suffer and I think this can really help you out to kill them faster. This entire thing will take a while after all, so it seemed only sensible to do so, plus I care for you.". Focusing back to the task at hand, he used Howl to attract the attention of the fiends, so that he made sure none would go for Flints, just to take precautions. The Souls attacked and took damage, though they seemed to be slightly reducing his own defences too. Not to worry, he had potions with him if necessary. CD 5 no battle heal Burn dealt Tristan was rather unexpectedly stroked by Flints, something she hadn't done to him before. Maybe he really was warming up to her, even if she pulled away before the hand. He shrugged it off though and decided to attack with his spear, even if he knew his damage was rather pitiful at best and only dealt 1 damage to them after his full attack even on his critical. He sighed and accepted his fate that was not being a damage dealer but a tank, but rolled with it anyway and continued on with the fight in front of them. CD 10 heal 12 HP from battle healing. Burn dealt Tristan readied himself for the enemy to come and come they did. All eight of them ran straight at em and slammed into his shield and got hit by all the effects his various unique things had. It all came together to hit them for a bit damage, which made him smile. He also attacked and once again used Hurricane to deal damage to them all, even if the damage it did was a pittance. He still felt like it all would add up and help though, so did it anyway. "Well that's even better progress than before! We will be done in no time!" After she said it she felt a little silly, hoping they could quickly end the mission was more of her being worried about letting the darkened souls beat on Tristan. "Well it is sort of his job.." She thought to herself. "Regardless i can't help but be a little concerned.." She looked away from Tristan and the ongoing battle. Tristan nodded to Flints and smiled. Indeed he could of probably done this on his own even, but it would take an incredibly long time and Tristan didn't have that sort of patience. So for Flints to come along benefitted him more and was glad they were here. Plus beating this not only would get her dank loot, but also would probably boost her confidence in being useful as an asset instead of being carried, since her damage far exceeded his and it showed. He used Howl again to draw more aggro. She stepped lightly following the one enemies every move, her movements became graceful and rythmic, Antillian weaved in and out of her legs with great fluidity, supporting his masters attack as best as he could with just his precense as she began to swipe away at the creature, getting quicker with each strike. She grinned at Tristan when she rejoined him and purred at her small feat. He sighed, as he had hoped thst the enemy would start hitting more so that Tristan could have these enemies dead by hitting Tristan. He took a deep breath to relax with the fight. "we've got this...man if we ever finish this quest, I'm going to be so thrilled that I actually made it through all this." She chuckled "Thank you for protecting me Tristan. I'm not sure if you get enough recognition for all that you do, so thank you." She reddened after saying what she did, was she really attempting to appeal to his better nature? She fumbled with her inventory and took out another electrolyte so that she could attack again soon. She drank it quickly not meeting Tristan's eyes, if he was even staring at her that is.
