  1. Ariel would return his greeting while the man would give his name and title.  Kingslayer, it was.  It was a good thing he wasn't there to face off against Gabrandr, or the airship battle afterward.  Though, the hunter was keen to see Bahr's fighting style.  Another log into the archives.

"It's all good.  Just more for another venture.  Thankfully the shard replenishes every 24 hours."

Looking behind his shoulder, he would spy the burnout queen herself.  Hirru was sure that he had some recovery medallions, but they were all tier one rarity.  He would have to make something for her energy usage, or else he would be the one to deal with it.  He would smile before waving to Mina.

"Yo!  Good to have another healer with us.  Though, I'd prefer you stick to your guns more, even if they drain you."

He would say with a smirk, before looking back to the two as they exchanged information.  He could only shake his head as he did not have any information himself.

"Although we all came in from the 27th raid, I had to immediately leave to begin preparations.  We're in heavy need of vitality consumables and instant heal songs, if Wushen was any sign."

Hirru would mull over the suggestions that Bahr threw out.  They were definitely sound, as there wasn't much in the way of mountains or caverns around here.  Mostly plains and forests, from the descriptions that he could see and what was given.

"I'd have to agree.  The forest is probably housing more than just a couple bears or so."

  2. The warm colors of reds, orange, and yellow.  Browns and tans cover corners and buildings alike.  This land is peaceful.  Its inhabitants kind.  The 28th floor was filled to the brim with the strange serene grace of a perpetual autumn season.

The hunter could only wonder what twisted way the labyrinth for this floor will change the environment.  What could bring the gravity of the situation crashing down on the group of players that would be searching its very core for a way to the next floor up.  Creatures to possibly get in their way.  Puzzles that would bring them to the brink of insanity.  Chess?  He could only shake the thoughts from his head.  He would not dwell on the hours long chess puzzle.

Ariel had asked of him to join her on the next labyrinth search.  He could only agree, as a good scout should.  Getting everyone out of this place was the core goal, and he was there to help.  Even when his reputation would be in question for some.  It did not matter to him, as there was one with them that he questioned more than himself.

The tall building before him would look like quite a few other bell towers that he had seen before.  Each floor may be different in architecture and customs, but some infrastructure would seem to be ever present.  This building was the best place to centralize and coordinate, it seemed.

Waving to the two that were already there, the hunter was clad in his silver half plate armor, adorned in silvery wings accents.  He would take the old bucket helm off of his head to reveal his signature jade green hair.  He would smile towards Ariel before the other.

"Glad to be joining you on another excursion."

He would then look to the other person in the group.  He had not met this one before, but if Ariel was inviting them, then they must be good for it.  Raising his hand to his forehead in a two finger salute, the hunter would greet the other man.

"Hey there!  Jade Hunter, Hirru!  At your service."

Hirru would then remember that he brought a couple goods for them to work with.  In one hand he would hold a plate of berry flavored granola bars, though the taste has expired a bit.  He would set them upon a small stand he prepared. Afterwards, his gungnir shard that flowered out to reveal the salty fish feast that he held with him.

"Got a couple buffs to kick us off.  Luck enhancers and Mitigation boosters."

He would say as he could only take some share of the buffs and wait for whomever would be joining them.

    "Who else was coming?"

  3. And then there was one.

The lingering seductress could not handle the constant onslaught that was Freyd's heavy burst area-of-effects.  There was nowhere to run, and it was all over in an instant.  The hunter would have to ask him where he learned that move, cause that looked like it would leave a crick in the neck.  Rubbing his own, he would look on to the deer like demon, whom was now seeing their true assailant.

"You!  You dare make a mockery of me?  You have killed the one that I sought vengeance on, and even now cast shadow upon your contractor?  Morgiana, you are an even bigger snake than I thought."

"You are not Qamaqim.. Do not talk to me, as if you were."

    "Do not believe their lies!"

"I do not believe the lies of those that besmirch an ally.  Especially a demon that spits upon the very face of a friend."

Morgiana was resolute, and that was all the hunter could ask for.  Taking the moment to give a bit more energy to Freyd, the hunter would keep his guard up for any small oddities to come.

    • Demonic Rest | The Jathoom is a creature of sleep. It may apply <<SLEEPING>>, a status disablement that causes players to lose their turns until attacked by an enemy. Players can remove this effect from other players by sacrificing their post action to do so.
    • Narcolepsy | On a natural roll of BD8+, if the attack connects with its target, the player gains <<SLEEPING>>. This status effect cannot be parried. The attack is to be resolved before <<SLEEPING>> is applied.
    • Sleep Paralysis | Victim’s of the Jathoom’s spell will not dream; instead, they are forced to reckon with ghastly terrors in their present world muted of colours. Players who are <<SLEEPING>> will suffer from Jathoom’s thorns' damage on its turn. This damage will not awaken the target and is unmitigatable.
    • Appendage Growth | On turns where at least one player has <<SLEEPING>>, the Jathoom will gain +25 MIT and +5 THORNS. This effect does not stack if multiple players are sleeping.
    • Self-Mending | The Jathoom’s body is capable of repair. When targeted by a player’s attack roll of a natural LD15+, the creature will heal 50 HP after damage is dealt if the damage is non-fatal.
    • Injured | Fighting with the <<Qarinah>> has weakened the Jathoom’s structure. Self-Mending will be nullified.

  4. Freyd was doing what Freyd does best: decimate the competition.  The demoness was thrown for a loop and the deer creature was thrown in to boot.  The two of them were not able to do much this second, as a dazed demoness and a paralyzed deer would be easy pickings.  Morgiana would try to get their attacks in, but only one had made their mark.  She would sigh as the demon deer would regain himself fast enough to jump away from the second strike.

"Morgiana!  You know better!  Why do you do this to us?"

"Don't listen to them!  They do not know you!"

Morgiana would try to block them out, but the lies would not be so easily resisted.  What if this was just an illusion that some demon was casting, and they really were attacking her friends?  She wouldn't know.

"They're not your friends.  They're demons.  Trying to trick you.  Don't let them in."

Hirru would call out while sliding in on his shield towards Freyd.  A slight amount of yellow light would fall upon his wrist, energizing him a little more.  Just a little more, but it would be something to do while they moved through these boss creatures.

    • Phantasm | The Qarinah is a creature of dreams. On misses against the Qarinah, players will gain a stack of <<HALLUCINATING>>, which applies a -1 ACC until their next successful attack. <<HALLUCINATING>> can stack up to a maximum of 3 times.
    • Embargo | Qarinah is a tricky devil, and her wings give her much promise in the way of disrupting players’ actions. The first item used at the start of a turn will benefit Qarinah instead of the players, the demon having stolen it away from them.
      • Buffs that affect members of the party will benefit Qarinah instead.
      • If the item is a debuff, Qarinah will use it against the primary hate target instead. If there is no stated hate target, players get to decide who receives the debuff.
      • Qarinah still has to obey consumable enhancement cap limitations. She will gain buffs in accordance with the order in which the Players attack her, gaining their respective buffs. Once she has reached the maximum number of combat buffs (5), she will not acquire any more.
    • Gentle Grip | The Qarinah can grow long nails and swipe every target on the battlefield. On natural rolls of BD9+, roll against every player in the party. If the attack hits, it deals 150 mitigatable DMG and Bleed, dealing 48 unmitigatable damage for two turns. This status effect cannot stack, but can refresh.  Gentle grip replaces the original attack, and can only trigger once per round.
    • Vampiric | Triggers on a natural roll of CD9+, as part of an attack roll against any player. If the attack hits, Qarinah heals for 125 HP instead of dealing damage. This effect is automatically considered a hit if the target is suffering from Bleed.
      • If triggered on the same round, <<Gentle Grip>>'s effects will occur before <<Vampiric>>.
      • Separate rolls must be made for <<Gentle Grip>> and <<Vampiric>> if they are to occur in the same turn.
    • Tenacious | Disablements (stuns, paralysis, freeze) will not remove this enemy’s evasion, but will still remove its next post action.
    • Devour | On turns where a player is <<SLEEPING>> (see below), the Qarinah will attack them instead of the primary hate target, healing for the amount of damage the player receives after mitigation. In the event that multiple players are <<SLEEPING>>, Qarinah will attack the target with the highest hate. If multiple <<SLEEPING>> players are tied for highest hate, she will attack the player that most recently used an action.
      • This effect is only applicable should players have picked the Do nothing route.
    • Ferocious | Angered by the <<Jathoom>>, Qarinah’s strikes are likely to be destructive. When <<Gentle Grip>> occurs, Qarinah’s attacks will apply <<SLEEPING>> to targets who are <<HALLUCINATING>>.
      • This effect is only applicable should players have picked the Do nothing route.

  5. Hirru would continue to point out directions as they moved without taking much interest in the situation.  It was an odd quest outside of these character main floor.  Was there something going on about that?  He wouldn't really know anymore.  The lore of the lands was not what he really cared for, anymore.  So he just took everything as it came along.

As they found the woman in red, the thief would engage almost immediately.

"Damnable woman!  I knew you were the one to kill him!"

"Check your sources more carefully!  Yours are entirely false!"

"I don't need sources when the truth is made up right in front of me!"

It was around here that the two started attacking each other before Morgiana had any way of interacting with them.  She was more surprised by Freyd's words and his sudden appearance as Ali.  The demons that took the places of the creatures would raise their voices towards the disguise.  Their resentment full of hatred and anger from all sides.  Though, would it be safe to say that these were not the people they thought they were.

    "When did Ali?"

"I've learned not to question certain skills.  If you have the know how, then a skill can be pushed or used in any way that suits the general purpose.  Just take care of demon that we thought was Qamaqim.

"So you say, then why do they still sound insulted by Ali?"

"As a creature made to imitate and coerce us into a situation that we take sides.. I wish I could say I was done with that, but I've made decisions that could have cost lives.  These people were not something I could get attached to.  I only just met them, why should I care if they fly into the fray so recklessly.  There is no reason to risk life for them."

As Morgiana went in to strike at the newly changed Jathoom, the deer like creature would screech out before being paralyzed to the spot.  Qarinah would take this moment to cleave through them all.

"Morgiana!  You still crawl to Ali's beck and call?  Do you not understand now that it is all useless?"

The demoness would try to get her to submit to them, and confirm as such.  The hunter would take this time to slap his hands together and place them near Morgiana's wounds.  Along a green flame of light, her health would rise back up to full from the attack.  It didn't heal her bleeding ailment, but he could at least keep her alive as he own passive healing would keep him going.

"You, on the other hand, have shown a dose attachment and resourcefulness.  I'd rather keep you alive as much as my fellow men."

He would look towards the whispering shadow and nod his head.

"I've got this.  Let's not let these bosses do their own thing."

  6. Morgiana didn't say anything about it, nor about the note.  She would simply follow along, as there was nothing more to deal with between these two than just that.  Ali had better have something proper planned, if Qamaqim was being summoned.  That being said, what are these two going to be in this plan?

Hirru, on the other hand, had other things on his mind.  As they followed along, the hunter would ponder on the circumstances that have caused most of the changes on the floors.  Most would attribute it to what happened on the 25th floor.  The darkness that enshrouded everyone and the shadow that seemed more than it should be.  There was much about it that he didn't know about and didn't really care about.  This was a world that could easily be changed, from what he was told.  How hard is it to change simple geometry and ecology?

"Predates my own, as well.  I've been active since the 11th floor unlocked, but only fought on the front since the 18th.  I didn't even go above the eleventh floor until then."

He would look to his venturing partner for this quest and smile, even if his helm blocked it.

"Curse or not, it's always better to be careful when solo hunting."

As they drew closer to the crumbling building, the hunter's search would ring out.  It was odd, as the tracking could find him, but his search couldn't.  Although, it wasn't pushed through to the max, so that could have been what was wrong.  Still, it was a testament to the persons skills and technique.  Reminded Hirru of Hidden and Hik when Shadowed Path was still around.

Entering the building as best they could, the man in question could be seen.  A hand quickly coming to draw a weapon hidden away on his person, but as soon as he saw the masked warrior, Qamaqim would settle down.

"I would ask who you are, but if she is with you, then Ali has a task for me?"

He would wave them off with a quick brushing off.

"I can not today.  I am busy with finding a murderer.  A woman by the name of Delilah has killed a friend of mine, and I believe she still carries the body with her."

    "Why the body?"

"I do not know, and I do not care.  I will find her and take back his body.  Though, to say that it would be faster with numbers on my side would matter, it has only been a night since his passing.  Maybe, we can help each other."

"I.. don't get it, but If we help you, you'll go back to Ali with us, right?"

The man would look at the heavily armored hunter and laugh.

"If you think you can find her when I have not, then be my guest.  If you can find me, then you could maybe find her.  Although, I have my doubts."

A sudden flash of light from Hirru would cause his crimson red gauntlet to disappear and a golden bracelet would take it's place.

"I'm told I'm pretty good at it."

Free Action (skill): Quick Change | Bulwark Mit III -> Favor of the Golden Dragon Luck Die III (LD +11~14)
Post Action: Search for Delilah (Morg Bonus +1 CD +2 LD) | [ID: 218361] [CD: 11+1=12] [LD: 13+2+11=26] Found Delilah

As if like a drop of water falling into a bigger pond, the hunter's search skill would send ripples out into the area.  With the expansion upon his search's main stat, he could push his skill further than most.  Glowing emerald eyes would shine through the helms slits before the hunter would continue to speak.

"Several creatures south by south east.  We can avoid them easily pass by them.  Another pack of.. something unsightly large to the north east.  One particular ping that's singular.  That's probably our best bet."

He would turn to point out the direction.

"West by south west.  We should find them within several minutes, if we keep a good pace.  I'll keep search on as we go to keep us updated."

  8. "Oh good.."

    "Hey Freyd!"

The masked fighter and the Jade Hunter exchanged greetings to the munching and crunching of wandering shadow.  He had thanked the hunter before going on to thank him for the performance back in the boss room.  The hunter would only shake his head.

"I can't say it's nothing, but we all did our parts.  Even though it barely did anything to you, you were a skilled offensive tank and supplied both buffs and offensive capabilities to all of those new raiders.  Each of them were powerhouses due to that.  Was that Absolute Accuracy runes on their weapons I spied?"

He went on about the little things he saw, as if they were trained together.  Their team coordination was nearly perfect, even more so when orders rang out from either of them.  Even though there were a few small problems with Mina's constant energy consumption and Elora's unlucky streaks with her recovery rune's activation.

"If it wasn't for the bosses nature to lose interest and find someone else to play with, we probably wouldn't have had any more problems than what we had."

The hunter would go on about the differences that could have been, but that was all really in the past.  Morgiana would just look at the two of them as if they were both stupid.  They were here on a mission, but they wanted to chitchat first?  She could only sigh underneath her mask.

"Besides, I wouldn't let those with me fall so easily... Just remind me to assault our local bakery for 50 vitality snacks."

    "Are you two done?"

Hirru unfurls his gungnir shard to take a bite of his own Mitigation meal, before ripping into a cold field ration doused in spices Hirru found in the kitchen.  Hope Snow doesn't mind.  After washing it all down with a immolation potion and a small snack to aid in luck, he would nod before donning his helm.

    "Yeah, I'm ready."

"Good, we're looking for Qamaqim, the Arch Thief."

She would look at Freyd for a second before giving him the note to make sure he spells it correctly.

"If you have a way to track him down in this desolate place, then you're the better one for it."

  9. Did You Wake Me Up?  Did You Bring Me Here?
    <<Arabian Nights: Libel>>

As time passes, one would think that the floors were coming alive.  More and more were NPC's becoming more life-like.  The environment would change as the effects of the felled bosses would fade away.  Some floors flourished, while some have yet to change.  All in all, the floating castle, Aincrad, was growing ever so slightly.  Not so much in length, but in prosperity.  Though, that did not mean that the changes would go unnoticed by some.  Most players were not caring about the big or small changes that happened in floors that have long since become unnecessary to travel to, or to cherish the floors that seem more like peaceful escapes rather than hopeless futures.  Only a few quests that could possibly turn their head towards such stagnant and hollow floors.

That is why the hunter was here now.  The thirteenth floor was home to the final chapter of the Arabian Nights quest line, or so he thought.  All he knew was that Ali had sent over a notice to him about a man named Qamaqim, an Arch Thief, as it were.  As soon as the quest prompt to start it had come up, Hirru would smirk before sending a message to his partner that he had rummaged through the whole thing with.  He would be needing the help much more than before.

Got another Arabian Nights quest to burn through.  Are you interested?  If so, meet me on the 13th floor.  If not, got something else in mind?

"Didn't expect to see you here?  Ali gave you a vague description too?  Seems like we're both in it this time."

Looking back to the voice, a familiar dual scimitar wielding woman would grace his vision.  He should have known that Morgiana would be here too.  She had been there for the last couple quests, and was probably here to make it the last one too.  Hopefully, Hirru didn't have to do this alone with her.

"We'll have a third, maybe.  Don't you worry about that."

    Morgiana survived

    Summary:

Ali's message is curt this time. It isn’t clear if it was out of faith in the abilities of wayward adventurers, or if it is out of spite for his beneficiaries. Either way, his instructions direct players towards the thirteenth floor. Alongside his notes are a sketch of the man players are told to seek out. Most of the language is foreign on the sheet of papyrus, but one title and name are clear: Arch Thief Qamaqim.

No other description lies about the nature of his directions. Unusual, but perhaps the man to be sought out will have further information.

    Outline:

If Morgiana survived <<Arabian Nights: Unfinished Business>> for all players in the party:

      Hide contents

“Well met. Ali was not insistent on my arrival...”

The players may choose to add Morgiana to their party as an ally. The party will gain bonuses to certain rolls made during this quest if she joins them.

Against the drab and dreary backdrop of Breath of Life, Morgiana’s clothing makes her stick out like a sore thumb. So it is within reason she could only be found hiding out in one of the alleyways of the settlement, waving over to players should they manage to catch sight of her striking colours.

When questioned about the nature of the search, Morgiana will admit she knows nothing about Ali’s interest in finding Qamaqim. Her only rationale is that the thief was a good friend of her employer, and that she’s seen him multiple times during his visits to Ali’s abode. Distant associates, but close ties; that would be the best way the woman could describe the relationship between the two men.

The thread closure post for <<Arabian Nights: Unfinished Business>> for all participating players must be listed in the closing post for this thread.  Morgiana can only participate if she survived for all players participating in the thread.

    PART I | SEEKING CONTACT

In the expanse of Floor Thirteen, it’s difficult to find who one might be looking for without running into trouble. Players have the following options to complete this section of the quest; the party as a whole must pick one.

Tracking | Route requirement: <<Tracking>> mod

    Searching

      Hide contents

Without any other options to aid in the investigation, players must trek through the ruins on foot. Scouring the floor takes a post action, and players should consult the following chart. Player CD and LD bonuses apply.

    CD LD Outcome
    [1 - 6]
    [1 - 5]
    Spawn enemies: Corrupted Beasts (4)
    [6 - 10]
    [11 - 15]
    Nothing found.
    [16 - 20]
    [7 - 12]
[1 - 5] Find one (1) material per party member.
    [6 - 10] Find 500 col per party member.
    [11 - 15] Find Qamaqim.
    [16 - 20] Find... Dalilah?

If Morgiana is in the party: Players will benefit from an LD +2 and a CD +1 bonus when rolling on the table above.

Finding Qamaqim or Dalilah will start players on the next section of this quest.

    PART II | MAKING CONTACT

Here, the party as a collective would have found someone of importance. Depending on which NPC is found, different interactions will occur.  The party must either choose to help Qamaqim or Delilah.

    Qamaqim

      Hide contents

When the thief is found, there is little fanfare in his meeting the party, but the man does seem to be enthusiastic about new faces. “Hail,” he returns, a grin gracing his visage and an empty palm raised to his companions. At his notice of Morgiana or the party’s explanation of their search, his beam only grows stronger, happy to have accomplices by his side. “I can’t return home just yet, and certainly not tend to what Ali needs from my company.” Qamaqim folds his arms, and closes his eyes in thought for a beat. “But I suppose a suitable reason should be issued, lest you go back empty handed.”

“I’m searching for my friend’s body. He just got murdered the other night.”

“I have reason to believe the murderer I’m looking for is on this floor,” the man continues. “Her name is Dalilah. Tall woman, wearing red. My friend’s wife. Don’t know how the corpse is supposed to look, though. I only know of her plans to return here, and nothing else...”

Qamaqim is visibly perplexed, two fingers pinching the bridge of his nose. “I hate to put someone else in danger, but I’ve been searching for quite some time now with little to no luck. Pray accompany me on my journey? We’ll put a stop to her madness together, and when the job’s done, we could make the return trip together. It’s safer in numbers.”

Any attempt to use the [Tracking] mod to find Dalilah will return a surprising lack of results. Qamaqim will take notice of this and return the player a wry smile. “Good to know it wasn’t just me,” he comments, before starting to trek ahead. With a wave, he beckons. “Don’t worry, we’ve got more eyes on the scene now. We’ll be able to find her together.”

Players who have chosen to side with Qamaqim must proceed with searching for Dalilah. To do so, each player must take an action upon the following chart until their target has been found. Player CD and LD bonuses apply.

    CD LD Outcome
    [1 - 6]
    [1 - 5]
    Spawn enemies: Corrupted Beasts (4)
    [6 - 10]
    [11 - 15]
    [16 - 20] Find Dalilah.
    [7 - 12]
    [1 - 5]
    Nothing found.
    [6 - 10]
    [11 - 15] Find 500 col per party member.
    [16 - 20] Find Dalilah.

If Morgiana is in the party: Players will benefit from a flat LD +2 and a CD +1 bonus when rolling on the table above.

An LD +1 bonus will also stack for each search attempt players have made in this section. This bonus is chained with the party; after Player #1 has made their attempt, Player #2 will gain a +1 to their roll, Player #3 will gain +2 to their roll, etc.

When the players find Delilah, proceed with the next section of this quest.

    Dalilah

      Hide contents

Where players might expect to catch a glimpse of blue cloth in the dark, instead they find a striking red in the sunlight, belonging to a woman carrying a long item wrapped in gauze in her arms.

Both parties will catch notice of each other at the same time. Dalilah is surprised; introducing herself with caution when the players approach her. “I hadn’t expected there to be travelers in such a desecrated location,” she explains. “Perhaps you may be willing to help me, then?”

Her sights are cast down to the object in her arms, hugging the wraps tightly. “My husband. He passed away the other day. Unfortunate that I couldn’t help him.” Dalilah’s gaze sweeps the vicinity, expression somber as she continues. “Though the land has been ravaged by some blight, I’m sure he’d like to be buried in my homeland, to wait for me until the day I finally join him in death. But the road ahead is treacherous… Sticking to the shadows is as deadly as stepping into broad daylight.”

She takes one foot forward, turning towards the direction she was headed, eyes set on the distance before bouncing back towards the players before her. “If you have time, travelers, would you mind guiding me to safety? I don’t have much to repay you with, but the kind gesture would certainly be appreciated.”

Players who have chosen to side with Dalilah must proceed with escorting her to her destination. To do so, players must take post actions outside of combat to roll for LD. Players will need to meet a collective LD threshold based on the following chart to reach their destination. Player LD bonuses apply.

    Number of Players LD Quota
    1 50
    2 80
    3 110
    4 125

In addition, the natural CD of these rolls will be used to determine the following events:

    CD Outcome
    [1 - 2] Spawn enemies: Corrupted Beasts (4)
    [3 - 8] Nothing happens.
[9 - 10] Find one (1) material per party member.
    [11 - 12] Find 500 col per party member.

If Morgiana is in the party: Players will benefit from a flat LD +3 bonus when rolling for travel progress.

When the LD quota has been met, players may proceed with the next section of this quest.

The party may take a player's post action to disengage from the located NPC should they wish to retry the Part I: Searching section of this quest. This also applies to parties who have taken the Tracking route.

Disengaging from an NPC will alter the chart in that section of the quest; upon rolling for the NPC that they have just located, they will locate the alternative NPC instead (eg. Upon disengaging from Qamaqim, rolling for Find Qamaqim will now yield a Find Dalilah result). Disengaging from one NPC will lock the party into the new result; players will not be able to disengage a second time.

Upon clearing this section of the quest:

If the players had followed Qamaqim:

The rogue is the one who spots scarlet first.

“There,” he shouts, then charges past the party with vengeance in his eyes. “Murderer!”

It stuns the woman stooped to the ground, a ravel of wraps across a figure laid next to her feet. Garbed in red, as Qamaqim had duly noted before, Dalilah rises to her feet and brandishes a dagger, held underhanded just as the thief slides to a halt a few paces away from her. He wields his own rapier, teeth gritted in response.

“Murderer?” Dalilah snarls. “On what basis do you claim that to be my title?”

“Don’t play daft with me, seductress,” Qamaqim growls back. “You and your Carmine Weavers have always liked playing the long game. And this certainly wouldn’t be the last kill your will kind claim.”

The woman’s eyes narrow; it is clear that the pain etched on her face is genuine. No sign in her body language suggests any loosening of her ferocity. “If that is the conclusion you have come to,” the woman returns, “Then you should do your research better in the next life. I did not kill my husband.”

In grief, the thief howls back.

    “Liar!”

If the players had followed Dalilah:

    “There!”

The call comes from the blue just as the party closes in on their destination catches everybody off guard. A thunder of footsteps race up towards the party; a look of horror gracing the man’s visage should Morgiana be amongst the troupe, but it is quickly masked with a scowl of anger once again. “Murderer!”

Dalilah barely has time to hand her beloved’s corpse to another of her allies, brandishing a dagger to defend herself. Qamaqim skids, stopping but a few paces away from the squad, pulling out a rapier, eyes filled with anger.

    PART III | A CONFRONTATION

Be advised that during this segment, rolls for enhancement CD procs (e.g. Recovery, etc.) must be made separately from your attack rolls. Rolls for opponents and Morgiana must also be made separately.

As the two adversaries are squabbling, players have the following courses of action to take. The party as a whole must pick one:

    Do nothing

      Hide contents

Qamaqim takes the first move -- he lunges towards Dalilah, who skirts away from the party in an attempt to lead danger away from potential innocents. Their fighting is fast-paced; it is easy to tell that both individuals are highly skilled at their respective arms. Though Dalilah seems to fend her attacker off fairly well, a mistimed block earns her a cut on the side of her waist. Then, she grows furious, and a monstrous knock of her knife against the side of Qamaqim’s blade sets it free of his grasp. Her wrist is nearly slashed clean from the maneuver; instead, in a stroke of luck, a glaring gash of white and red sits upon her arm.

With two bare hands she pulls the thief up by the neck of his garb. Another powerful throw as the man struggles to free himself sends Qamaqim flying behind ruins. Dalilah pounces after her kill, and in that moment made obvious that her physical prowess was not a trick of the imagination. Was that some inhumane howl -- no, two of them? The grunting and spitting from the rubble announces some things much more devastating at work.

Players must fight <<Jathoom>> and <<Qarinah>> at the same time to complete this quest.

     <<Morgiana>>

Her prowess is still nigh unmatchable, and her elegance in combat performance still regions to this day. Hey -- isn’t dual wielding kind of a cheat for someone other than the Unique Skill user to flaunt around anyway? What gives?

    HP: 620/620 | DMG: 15 | MIT: 85 | ACC: 3 | EVA: 3 | BLEED: 48 (9-10) | PARALYZE (9-10)

    Abilities:

    • Direct Orders | Morgiana's actions are determined by the Party Leader.
    • Dual Wielding | The user of two blades, Morgiana is capable of attacking the same target twice per turn.
    • Discreet | Despite attacking twice per turn, she will only generate hate on her initial/first attack.
    • Emergency Recovery | When non-fatal damage would leave Morgiana with less than 155 HP, she will recover 62 HP immediately after the attack resolves. This effect cannot occur more than once per round.

    • Sword Arts | This ally uses sword arts. Look to the table below to determine the art they use in battle.
      • The sword arts used by this enemy are affected by cooldowns. These cooldowns will hence be affected by [Delay]. Refer to the resources list [here] to view each art’s respective cooldowns. Should an art be on cooldown, the list cycles upwards until a sword art is found to be available for use.

        Examples:
        • [Legion Destroyer] is on cooldown, but [Butterfly Illusion] is not. The ally uses [Butterfly Illusion].
        • [Lasting Chopper] is on cooldown, and so is [Meteor Fall], but [Bear Knock] is not. The ally uses [Bear Knock].

    NPCs:

    <<Qamaqim>>

If there hadn’t been wanted papers included with his sketch, perhaps ‘Arch Thief Qamaqim’ would’ve sounded only like a self-title. However, true to his (most definitely public) moniker, he is cunning and quick, but first and foremost he is a friendly, emotional sort of man.

    <<Dalilah>>

Demure is a description that comes to mind describing Dalilah; she is curt, courteous, modest, but sharp and quick-witted when it comes to her environment. She doesn’t mind chatter, but won’t share much of herself nor her life -- a private type of person, most likely still grieving the loss of her loved one.

    Enemies:

    bopjtTyc1Z-EBbtiZb5GWTElHOGvFo1xo4FSN1Jk

    <<Corrupted Beast>>

Awful hound-like creatures made out of shadow, vile and bones. They might’ve once been human, but it’s hard to tell now, when their living form is but coagulated darkness in a carapaced mess.

    Corrupted Beast | HP: 500/500 | DMG: 150 | ACC: 2 | EVA: 2

    jmKMXdlTbSGIQjpMSoqsfjrQKil9NhRc8BfJZ0Xu

    <<Jathoom>>

This four-legged vessel’s face morphs continuously; yellow eyes grow at will upon its form so that it’s aware of its surroundings at all times. Its limbs morph into hands and arms that are humanoid; and yet, it moves gracefully like a stag, a dream turned night terror and become reality.

    Jathoom | HP: 1950/1950 | DMG: 250 | MIT: 100 | ACC: 2 | EVA: 3 | THORNS: 30
This boss uses its own BD roll when attacking.

    Abilities:

      • This effect is only applicable if the players chose the Do nothing route.

    <<Qarinah>>

Anyone trying to describe it as a dazzling, voluptuous creature, would have been slain within the first few seconds of encountering such a beast. This demon is audacious, brash and cutthroat -- its swift, whirling, jaunty maneuvers are but its victim’s dance macabre.

    Qarinah | HP: 2250/2250 | DMG: 200 | MIT: 75 | ACC: 3 | EVA: 2 | BLEED: 48 (8-10)
This boss uses its own BD roll when attacking.

    Abilities:

Her tone is terse once the fighting has calmed down. “Perhaps Ali’s judgement was correct,” she mutters; her expression isn’t necessary to understand the confusion mapped beneath her mask. Devilkin hunting was never within Morgiana’s realm of work, after all. A shake of her head helps to connect her to the present. “It is not the adventurers’ responsibility to inform him of today’s matters in full. Allow me to omit the details as necessary.”

If the party defeated both Jathoom and Qarinah:

Something on the dirt would catch the sword dancer’s eye. She picks it up -- it is a small, lengthy crystal pulsing with black and white energy. At the heart of it are lobules of red, shifting around its form as though it were a lava lamp.

“Strange,” she comments, examining it with a careful eye. Then, Morgiana extends it over to one of the players in the party. “Is fortune following one of you around? Maybe this is for your troubles today.”

  10. "Yes, we're okay.  You did good.  Relax a bit, okay?"

A gauntlet would lay upon their shoulder for only a moment, to reassure them that they were outside of harm, and could calm down a bit.  He could tell that she was trying her best, but doubt can have a nasty aftertaste.  Even the single thought of doubt could cause miscalculations.  The slightest miscalculation will roll into blunders.  Blunders to cascade down and cause disaster.  All it took was a single thought.  He knew more than anyone how that would be.  He was reason enough for a major subject matter.

"Though, I'm sure we would be fine regardless of the stat debuffs these bosses distribute."

The spoils of their combat would soon come up as a little seed would fall into their palms.  This was what he was looking for.

"There it is.  A little thing, but it contains a potent power.  Keep it for a particularly stressful time, or when you need to take a breather from a dungeon wave."

The description of the seed would be visible for those that tapped on it.  Blessing of the Wood, a more powerful barrier that could last until it was fulling destroyed.  Although against most bosses, it may not really do too much, but it is essentially a free pass from a strong hit.  That or a decent mitigation from the damage that would come up.

1/5 posts until next field boss

  11. "It was more her idea.  She was gathering people that she could believe in and trust.  I guess I just earned it that day.  Though I will say that.. I didn't mind it."

He would twiddle with the little brooch before putting it away, it was far too precious to be put on his person unlike the other trinkets that he wore.  He was glad to have a family to fall back to whenever something happens, although he didn't want them to feel like that, nor did he want that.  That's why he didn't come to Teayre and Calrex about the 23rd floor.  He wanted to figure it out on his own, though Baldur did say he should speak with them some time.

"Being alone sucks, and I felt that more as the Knights started to dwindle.  After some time, we lost more members until.. it was just the Commander, Macradon, and I.  I had gained quite a bit of knowledge from running that raid, but not much to really keep things together in our guild.  We got another member, but they didn't like the heavy fighting of the front.  They were a pacifist, and only healed to keep us all alive.  Guess I took that mantle after all this time."

Hirru would give a little chuckle as his hand lit up a bit before fading once more.

"I wish I had this back then.  Maybe.. I could have saved Opal and Lowenthal."

He would shake his head before going on.

"No.. their deaths were outside of anything I could have done.  Opal had a plan all along, it seemed.  Her being apart of the killing guild, was just an.."

Hirru stopped himself from continuing that, as he had opened an old message that he saved in his message box.  It was from Opal with the attached map data of every single Laughing Coffin hideout.  She was doublec rossing them, and was doing it the entire time.  She had planned on destroying the guild from the inside out, but would die before succeeding.  This was her goodbye message to the only other person she knew that would carry on her story.  Unfortunately, all of that information was incredibly old now, and the guild had long since been taken care of by Macradon and Calrex, so it wasn't even needed anymore.  What was important was the message itself.  She did not care for her image of being a horrible killer to be overruled as a self sacrificing hero.  It was her last wish to him.

"..let's just say.  She had her reasons for the things that she did, which led to her untimely demise.  I'll leave that as that."

Thoughts would go back to the events that unfolded later on.  The news that would come up as an old friend would be found to be lost to their friends list, and their name scratched out from the Monument of Life, with a little reason why.

"For Lowenthal.. I still don't understand it.  Though, if you look at the Monument of Life, under his scratched name; you'll find his death was by Ariel.  Died in a death-match.  I.. still haven't talked to her about it, but Zandra seems to understand some things too.  The two of them have been the Chaos SIsters for some time, so I only assumed that they would confide in each other."

The hunter would not understand the madness that overtook the man that would be his reason to overlook the crystal system, and look towards the character themselves.  It led Hirru to so many friendships and understandings that he would not have known about.  Even if the hunter found out, he would never understand it.  It was something that would stay far from his mind as he would not look to seek issue with some of the stronger players out there.

"As things are now, I've known them enough to know that they wouldn't kill without reason.  Though, I still would like to know why, I wouldn't really get time to look into it.  I had my own issues as I too was losing my mind over the very quest that book now holds over me.  Looking and searching for something that eluded me, to the point of exhaustion."

"This is the point where the 23rd floor happens.. and I've already spent plenty of time talking about that to you."

He would say while poking at the little insignia on his headband.

"Sorry.. well Baldur is wise beyond his years.  He commands quite a bit of respect, not just in that, but his humanity as well.  I believe I met him long before I joined the front, but didn't really become good friends until some time after.  Especially after the events of the 23rd floor.  Confiding in him showed me that his guidance has set many towards their own proper paths, and mine is still out there, somewhere."

  12. ".. to Press the Attack!"

He would call out as the wall disintegrated around them.  Wushen was their target and it was easily seen that he would fall soon.  Everyone didn't have much energy left, and he couldn't waste time slapping everyone with a little bit of energy each and every time.  It was already a hassle enough trying to beat Mina's burnout.

    "Let's finish this!"

His concentration would fall towards his shield, which would glow in iridescent colors.  Hirru could feel his strength leave him, as his energy and strength would be pulled from his body.  It's a rough skill, but you have to take in order to give.  As the light would get stronger, Hirru would hold the shield outwards.  The light would split off in five directions, each attaching to the weapons of his teammates.  One after another would start glowing with iridescent colors as well.

"Everyone!  One last burst!  Attack with everything you have left!"

  13. Even as the walls would shake and shatter around them, they would continue on.  Yet another head was bashed, smashed, and slashed to destruction by the team of mostly new players.  Hirru could feel a sense of pride knowing that this would be an experience that wouldn't be tainted by his issues.  He was glad that they could get to have this feeling unfiltered, as the health bar of Wushen would burn down with the beating of yet another head.

"Let the head do it's thing for a minute..  let it melt the ice a bit."

Brimstone's body would flail back and forth, slamming into the wall that kept them cordoned off.  It would be foolish to believe that the fire based head wouldn't do something to the ice wall that cordoned them away.  With each smashing flail, the head would deal more significant damage to the wall.  Hirru would wait until the ice would melt and crack.

    "Now.."

As soon as something would pop up, it was then and only then that the hunter would play his last instant song.  The song would lull the beast back into a calmer state, as the creature would start to cool off.  The fire would wane slowly but surely, leaving a stump that would've melted a hole in the wall, where it once stood.  It would only take a little more concentration to use the roots from before to break through it further.  Soon, they would be free, and this boss will be a minor note in their tales

  14. "Yeah, it's the only method I had to know about most of the things that happened on the front before I joined.  It was a system brought about by Mack.  Said that it was intelligence keeping, in case there was an issue later down the line that a previous fight's knowledge would help with.  I didn't get it, but it did help me understand what can happen during the raids, and how best to optimize it."

Hirru would think back about how much he had to read up on.  Bosses were all crazy with strange methods and techniques to their attacks, or as they're known as, Mechanics.  Even stranger was the player's methods to fighting them.  It was like everyone kind of knew something that would happen and some that would surprise even them.  It was probably the poor planning that killed off the players of the 14th raid, but it was different minds that planned the deaths of the 15th.  The hunter would have to sigh a bit in sadness, as the 16th floor also had deaths from a player too.  This one was the one he was talking about.

"No, it wasn't Lowe that lead that, he had his own issues.  No, the raid leader for the 18th floor was a member of an old guild called Spectrum Coalition.  Crimson hair cut short of the shoulders, a smile that could fool anyone, but those eyes screamed something darker.  She was the Crimson Maiden, killer of several players including a couple players from the 16th floor raid.  *sigh* Still more deaths that were needless."

The hunter would bring his hand up to point out this person in general, even though they were not here.

"This was the person I pissed off, and her name is Teayre.  I was trying to get some information about how the teams were set up, and how we needed to work a better way of organization.  Obviously overstepping my bounds.  That's when Ariel took notice, having a choice word with the crimson maiden about having another guild taking the reigns, or something along those lines.  She didn't take that well, and confronted me about it.  Teayre figured that if I was going to do all the 'hard work' that I should take responsibility and become the raid leader."

There was an initial issue with the situation, as the raid leader had just appointed someone that had no prior experience.  Even his own guild was going against him.  Macradon especially voiced his concern and used some choice wording about it too.

"I remember Macradon coming to tell me off, that I shouldn't be showing my 'newb', or whatever that means.  Telling me to stand down as I was trying to reason with Teayre, at the same time.  I didn't want it.  I wasn't ready for something like that.  Teayre reasoned otherwise, saying that the teams I was proposing were sound, and that Mac shouldn't talk about his own guildmate in such a manner.  It was mostly due to Opal, again being a thorn in peoples sides, having to be put into a team, and hardly anyone wanted to deal with her.  I decided to put her in the Knight's team, to keep an eye on her.  We compromised and after a bit of a talk, we got teams together, and took out the boss without any problems."

The fight wasn't that hard, nor that long.  He had set himself aside as a party that would deal with the torch mechanics of the raid, as the boss had caustic pools of poison that would probably heal the boss, or something.  The boss didn't last long enough for the pools to be relevant.

"I didn't even issue many orders.  I just told the veteran front liners to do what they do best, while roughly keeping the third party that I was in on task.  I was thankful for one of my hunting mentors helping me through that.  Even after, I didn't understand why Teayre would do that, until she asked me to meet her.  She told me that it was because of her status as a killer that she gave it to me.  That she figured no one would listen to her, until I came along."

Hirru would enter his inventory for something that he did not bring out ever before.  It was a soft green jewel nestled into a silver brooch.

"She told me she wanted to change herself.  That she didn't want to be the killer that everyone knew her as.  So far, she was doing just that.  That's why I call her Sis now."

  15. "Huh.. Is that right?"

Hirru would start to notice something as the lass would continue her attacks against the living tree creature.  Every single one of her attacks was something that would fall under the Technical arts.  Was she a tech shifter, like Jomei?  This would be the second or third time he had seen this type of fighting mastery, and it probably wouldn't be the last.  There were so many that he ventured with that mostly took Area Of Effect shifts.  This was a breath of fresh air really.

"Just one more hit and it'll be done with."

Seeing as they seemed to have a bit of passive healing, the hunter decided to continue boosting their energy.  It would be the least that he could do to keep them going.  The boss wasn't really hitting them for much after all, but it's healing was a problem.

It was taking them quite a while to figure this puzzle out.  One by one the puzzle was being solved, kind of.  They were really throwing caution to the wind after a while, since Hirru wasn't keen on the rules and NIGHT had specifically stopped trying to mess with it.  That or they went into stealth to search somewhere else.  The hunter would be glad to hear something along those lines.  After another hour there, they were starting to give up as a message would come to them.

Shield - Hirru, I need your help.
Hirru - Not right now, I'm looking for the boss.
Shield - Well, hurry up then.
    Hirru - I can't find it
Shield - What do you mean you can't find it?
    Hirru - I can't find it, there's only chess.
Shield - What do you mean there is only chess?
Hirru - It means there's only chess.
Shield - Well go to another area!
Hirru - OKAY!! You don't have to shout at me..
    .....
    There's more chess.
Shield - What do you mean there is more chess?
Hirru - There's just more chess!
Shield - Go to the next area!
    .....
    Hirru - Just more chess!
    Shield - Where are you?!
Hirru - I'm at the labyrinth!
    Shield - What labyrinth?!
Hirru - I'm at boss labyrinth!
Shield - WHY ARE YOU PLAYING CHESS IN THE BOSS LABYRINTH?!!

    "Fuck you!"

  17. "I'm sure you are ready, and I'm not saying that condescendingly."

The hunter would put the plate down onto the table, as he was finished with the pie he had.  From what the player could see from the last time they had met, he was sure she was a capable fighter.  Even if she was just on a floor that was terrible for most other players.  Though, that does stand to reason for the hunter as well.

"You stood your ground when we talked and met that one player, and I would say that is enough."

Hirru was slightly more serious as he continued.  This was due to him being a coordinator and tactician of the front lines for a couple raids.  He would not dare bring someone that was not prepared.  That would go against everything that he had worked up to.

"Though, would like to have your assistance in something, if you're willing.  It'll let me see how you fair against things that don't exactly run by conventional rules."

His demeanor softened a bit before going back into a jovial laugh.  The talks would come and skills will be accessed, but now was not that time.  They had some friendly conversations going on, and it was good to enjoy the lot.  Even with the year going by quietly, it was something that he didn't mind too much.

"But that is another time.  Let us greet the holidays with spirit, not toil."

He would say while bringing up a glass.

"Our path is long, but that does not deter us.  Quiet it may be, but it will not be for long.  The next floor awaits.  With each other, we will succeed.  To friends!"

    He would toast.

  18. Ingrained into the ground, stalwart and hardy.  A sturdy tree, breaking through even the strongest of concrete.  The shield that cloaked them would not be touched, even by the likes of the metal elemental head.  Stunned and disheveled, pained and broken.  This head would become like the other, oozing its metal all over before suddenly coming to a slow halt.  Just like before, a song would play out from the paladin like player.  His shield would be raised, but not aglow.  The metal would slop and goop to the floor while trickling along the icy walls itself.  Although it didn't seem like anything significant, as the metal was not melting the ice, more like the ice was freezing the metal?  Soon, the head would break freeze and fall from the weight of itself, shattering upon the ground.  It would leave a crack in the ice wall, where it once emerged.

"So the song does do it, not the armament?  So how do we take care of the wall?"youhelpedmeletmehelpyou

Something burned from his forehead, it felt like where he placed the insignia of the Queen of the Dark Elves.  An image burned into Hirru's mind, one that he would remember quite well.  A valiant dark elf royal guard that protected those they care for.  The ability of that knight would be the same as what the hunter had obtained, roots ingraining into the surface to protect everyone.  If she had that, would she be able to use it offensively?  With a mental push, he tried to picture it.  The roots twisting and writhing.  Moving to a goal.

To the hunter's suprise, it was working.  The engrained roots would spread.  Further and further before starting to break through the lower parts of the ice walls, and further still into the large cracks.  The walls would fall soon after from the structural damage to its base and Serration's parting gift.

"*sigh* I had to concentrate on that one."

  19. Just as the fighting was getting good, the dragon boss would start up another round of Domes and Dragons.  This round though, they were not met with the nature blessed head of bark and wood.  No, this one was made of metal, though it seemed to be liquid in a way.  What metal could be liquid as the same time, he thought before pulling out a little seed.  He had two of these seeds in total, but they would be enough.

"You think the elements are on yours to control?  We have the burning passion of fire, the fortitude of earth, the resilience of metal, the persistence of water."

Dropping the seed to the ground, it would drive a hole into the earth.  In no time, a sapling would sprout from the hole.  By forces unknown, the sapling would grow at an exponential pace, ingraining its roots around the hunter as it did so.  It wouldn't matter much to him, as long as those that needed energy or healing would come close to him.  The branches and twigs would sprout into a full canopy of leaves before bursting, showering them all in leaves as the shield would come into affect.  Blessing of the Wood, a barrier based item that can tank quite a bit of damage from several attacks until it's own hit points were diminished.  It was much more powerful than his simple barrier, though he didn't know how it would fair with what Fate's Armament had accomplished.

"And the life given by nature itself!  You think you control what we have in plenty?!"

  20. "Yes, or at least that's what the records say.  This happened a month or two before I joined the front, so if you want more on it, you'll probably have to ask Mac, Bal or Cal.  Though, what I did glean was that it happened before anyone could react.  The two were killed without even knowing that they were a target, probably."

He could not picture it, as he was not there and did not know the two personally.  Though, he did know that Macradon took it pretty hard.  Hirru thought that Mac may have looked up to the Berserker, in some way, but would never actually know.  They didn't really talk too much about that time.. or any time other than questing.  Hirru looked a bit downcast as he realized that he still hadn't properly discussed things with Mac.  They really only scouted out the 26th floor for clues, but they didn't really get much.

"For the people themselves, I'm sure their names still ring a familiar tone to their old friends and acquaintances.  I've only heard rumor of their infamy, but that was well past their passing to be relevant, and I wish to honor any memories that others have of them.  No, they have no bearing towards this story except towards Opal and Oikawa, the friend in question.  Opal, in particular, as she was my Vice Commander until that time.  Can you understand how it feels to look up to a friend that has grown so powerful and skillful, to killing two of the front lines best players without a second thought?  *sigh*  She was part of that guild that was not registered.  They called themselves, Laughing Coffin, and they were the ones that I had been after since Lindow's death."

He shook his head at that last part.  There wasn't much else to talk about for them.  After Calrex and Mac took care of them from certain information leaked, they haven't been an issue since.  The hunter would continue the story as if that were the case.

"Our guild didn't fair to well after that.  Being called 'accomplices to murder' or 'the guild to stab you in the back', if I remember right.  Many members started to leave around then.  Even after Mack took up the Vice Commander role, we would gain a few to loss a few later on.  Mack may be a boisterous man whom can talk you into the oddest thing, he was also rather strict.  Military strict, I was told.  Some people didn't like that, either.  So we kept going down until one day, Mack didn't come back.  I don't know what he's doing, but I know the bastard is still alive.  His name is not crossed off on the Monument of Life, so I can only assume he's off on some venture without telling us.  Yet another Vice Commander gone.."

The Jade Hunter would open his menu real quick to check, and sure enough, Mack's name was still not there.  He couldn't understand why the man would unfriend everyone.  Maybe it was the tracking skill that could accurately find him through guild and friend relations?  Still, the hunter couldn't find him, even if he tried now.

"So, as things continued, we got a new Vice Commander and a familiar person from our story: the orange player turned green, Lowenthal.  He was my Vice Commander when I first joined the front.  That was an interesting first raid, too."

Hirru then got a smile from the next few memories that would play in his mind, as he remembered coming to that raid and being the absolute dumbass he could have ever been.  Why did he feel that it would be a good idea to imitate Mack's charismatic yet strict speech?  He didn't know that the Chaos Sister would spurn the malice of the raid leader and known red player, the Crimson Maiden.

"First time joining the front, and I mess up so hard that I was forced to lead that raid.  It turns out trying to get everyone together to form proper parties, outside of the meeting, is a bad move.  Especially when the actual raid leader was a known red player."

  21. "That's why I'm here.  It may be a second rank field boss, but that just means that we have to be careful of our stats."

The hunter would say as he kept his distance from the boss, but close enough to run over to Nari.  It was the roughest part of First Aid, as nearly all the actions it can make are close range to nearly touching the other player.  It especially would take more out of him than normal because of the plate armor that he wore to instill the life giving effects of Mending and Blessing.  Though they may not do half as much as need, when they are, it makes up for all the time that they are not active.

Though, Hirru would not activate that enhancement now.  It would be a waste of energy to do so now.  Instead, he would continue to pump energy into the scythe user's form, the green light constantly working their way around her limbs.

"If it hits you again, I'll send some health your way."

He hoped it didn't heal again.

  22. "I doubt I'll need to, but I got your back."

The fight began as Nari and the Wicked Wood would engage each other.  With a swift and heavy hit, the lavender haired warrior would bring down hell upon the treant.  Fire would spread through their being from where Nari's scythe would touch down on.  It would envelop the field boss, invading the cracks and getting into its very core.  This one didn't really seem to be that bad, but that could change in an instant.  The flames seemed to burn more and more, but the treant would not kneel to them.  It's blade would sing with the heat from the fires within it.

    "Now we're getting somewhere!"

As the creature began its assault, Nari would be able to get around most of its attacks.  Though, that was when it rooted itself into the ground, and started to heal.  Hirru cursed at it for using that trick so quickly, but calmed himself as it was an easy boss to deal with.  A bit of energy would go a long way, so he let a small green flash pass from his hands to Nari's arm.

"Already?  Damn thing didn't start healing until half way, last time!  Here's some more energy."

  23. As Nari started to down each of her potions, the hunter kept watch before she asked if he needed any.  He would only shake his head.

"I got plenty, though the boss reduces stats, so most of my buffs will mean more than nothing.  Besides, I probably won't be hurting it as much as you will."

The woods seemed to quiet down as they conversed.  The birds would chirp and sing but a moment ago, but have grown silent.  The sapling in the stump would begin to grow at an alarming rate.  Branching from the main trunk, a few branches would grow into rough appendages, or so it would seem.  As it went on, the bark would start to crack and age, as if time was speeding up for this sad tree.  Leaves would grow green, drain orange, and fall.  This was the initial tree before it becomes the field boss.

"Alright, looks like it's up.  Would you like to start us out?  Maybe a shatter, or that burn art you talked about."

He would say before a yellow light would permeate Nari's being.

  24. With the barrier between them shattered, the hunter would take a moment to get his bearings back before looking on as the rest of the group set upon the main body.  It looked like they didn't need too much direction at all, it seemed.  Though, they could still let the hunter know if they were about to get their finisher set up.  That wouldn't matter though, as the fight raged on.

"Morningstar!  You're getting the next Hyperactive!  Don't squander it!  Mina, get healed up!"

He would call out to him before sending yet another healing song towards Mina.  Although Fate's Armament had him use the song on the overgrown tangled mess of a head, it would warrant to proceed with caution for the rest of his stock.  He only had two more left.  He would have to wait until another head to come by.  He was sure that the next one to attack them would not go in his favor, this time.  Dormant Fate's Armament didn't seem to give him any indication that he could do anything with it.

It would only leave Hirru with a sigh.  '
