  1. Got another question. Okay, to preface this, a friend of mine actually used to use this site a TON and I decided to join it based on all the good things she had to say about it. Anyway, how do NPC players work? For example, a character in SP that takes the role of another player. Can that be done for 1 SP? (not to be used again--i know i'd have to make a new character if I wanted to do that. Just something for non-combat roleplay so I don't get rekt by a boar)

Heh heh.  Indeed you can so long as that character doesn't use the forum mechanics.  That is what I do with Domarus' servant Keres.  Read some of my threads and you'll find her.  Heck look at my shop if you want.

I'm not sure what you mean be "Can that be done for 1 SP?"

So because of the nature of SAO, we have a slightly confusing nomenclature.

NPC - Non-Player Controlled Character. This character is an AI controlled by the Cardinal system. This is an in character term.
NPC Player - Non-Player Controlled Player Character. This is an OOC term. This is a character that "In Character" is a player, but Out of Character, is not a character that has an approved Journal, etc... OOC, they're an NPC, but IC they're another player.
PC - Player Character. This is an OOC term, that means you, Domarus, and I. A Character with an approved Journal, Skill Points, the whole nine yards.

NPC Players are no different than NPCs when it comes creating/controlling/running. You are certainly free to create NPC Players to RP with, and many people have. However, if you kill an NPC Player, it is the same as killing a PC, and you would become an orange player.

      Does that answer your question?
