    charming.
    What else would you expect from Aincrad's resident sweetheart? Arabelle has a way with appearances. There never seems to be a dull side to her; she's sociable, affectionate, and perhaps a little bit of a tease. Everything from her words and her fashion choices, down to the smallest subtleties, is tailored to win just about anyone's trust — and she certainly wouldn't mind if her charms carried your opinion of her just a little further beyond.

    + quick-witted.
    Once lauded for her brilliance at a young age, Arabelle hasn't lost any of her fire. Neither fear nor pressure can weigh down on her shoulders heavily enough to interfere with her decisions, and this prideful young woman is nothing less than confident when faced with a new challenge. She's quick to analyze a situation, adapt, and take what she could learn from the outcome. Trust her to get you out of a pickle, with a few lighthearted remarks to liven up the process.

    Yet another one of the many things she doesn't often speak of: Arabelle is quite fond of detail-oriented work. One might notice how she can identify exquisitely-made crafts with ease and voice her approval on them — and the harsh criticism she rains upon individuals who are a little too ignorant for her liking. She's very particular about the process behind the things she does and her appearance, though if there is one thing she's most proud of, it's her skills with observation. Few things can escape her notice.

    But who ever finds the cold truths beneath the loveliest of facades? Only when the show's over and she's curtsying to an audience devoid of applause. Never quite a friend, never quite a lover; Arabelle's wanderlust extends to her personal relationships. For a young woman who delights herself in being surrounded by people who like her, she doesn't hesitate to cut strings and discard at her own whims and convenience. Who knows? You might have gotten a little boring, or you might have gotten on her nerves a little, or you might have seen something... you weren't supposed to. Whichever the reason, you'll find her the next afternoon enjoying a nice cup of tea as if nothing ever happened.

    Tell her the poisoned apple is sweet and she might just bite into it. Life is meaningless without pleasure. Life's only meaning might be pleasure. Every day is haunted by a search for something to entertain her, to satisfy her — to remind her during the rush, that this was one of the things she's lived so long for. Really though, Arabelle tries not to think about it too hard.

    - unpredictable.
    Well, isn't there anything more fun than leading them in circles...? With her true feelings and intentions wrapped in a neat little bundle and jettisoned to the furthest depths of the maze she's strung all around her, and a propensity for toggling through moods like a bored viewer switching channels on TV, Arabelle's every bit like a crazy fox. So don't tell her she's entirely lacking in rhyme or reason; she'll be a little miffed at the charge. Whatever the situation, she still has her own precious well-being at the forefront of her mind.

    The tinkling of coins ceased, the grieving widow having stopped the motion that shifted the meager drops of gold about its pouch. Hundreds and hundreds of repeats later and it never once realized that its disguise had been picked apart years ago, filed away methodically in Hermes' public record. All that was left to do was smile as the game of deception turned on its head. It appeared to be no hard task for Arabelle, until the final notes of the woman's plea lingered in the air, unanswered, and a gauntleted hand brushed against the back of hers as the silence lapsed another second too long.

    It was said that a banshee's weeping heralded the death of a loved one. 

    That myth had long died in her eyes, along with a couple hundred others.

    But that well of bitterness had once again found its home in the hollow of her chest. She thought she heard her confrere whisper something next to her ear, their faint murmur bearing the tone of familiar comfort; yet since when did a drowning person ever fully hear the sounds of the surface? She'd pour it all outward, until the woman's rendered skin had burnt so terribly that the horror she had created was enough to tear Arabelle's gaze from its ghastly expression—

    The small purple-haired girl felt the air thrum at her fingertips.

    She reached for the unforgiving steel of her scythe.

    Arabelle let her fingers glide beneath the surface of a small stream. A sickly blue glow emanated from the stone forming its bed and the gentle flow of the water reflected in her ashen eyes as her gaze followed the current downstream to where it ended in a small pool against the side of the cave. Cool to the touch, perfect for drinking — if one was at a point where they didn't have ready access to the safezone's supplies, anyway. She figured those were refilled water bottles lined up along the bank.

    Her moment of quiet ended when she heard movement from the makeshift camp at the far end of the cave. Rising, Arabelle shook out the droplets from her hand and scuffed her foot against the ground: the first real sound she made ever since she ventured into the hollow alone. "You sleep so quietly. Most people could never do that even if they wanted to," she purred, snapping her glove back over her wrist. Her scythe was nowhere to be seen. "Ah, but that won't really help you if you're this horrendous at hiding your tracks..."

    Arabelle tilted her head at Pinball, then pointedly let her gaze rest on a moderately-sized pouch just beside his sleeping bag. It was opened just wide enough for him to make out the signature shine of her performer crystals, and Arabelle didn't hide her amusement as she observed.

    "A wonderful Christmas to you, sugar. You left before I could offer you any presents."

    --Now this was a problem.

    Arabelle had known that NPC attendant's services were suspiciously cheap, but she hadn't really considered she'd run into communication issues this early in the run. Two order slips, both nearly a month old, and a couple of music sheets lay pinned to her queue. She had not been notified, and had it not been for her earlier boredom, she likely would have gone an entire year from her shop in complete ignorance. And these requests-- maybe she should just temporarily close up for some crisis management?

    First things first.

    "You're fired."

    The entity disappeared without much protest. She filed through her memories in search of its name, briefly considered hunting it down wherever it spawned next as a way to vent her frustration, then dropped her gaze to the queue and set to work.

    Memorizing the sheets NIGHT had helpfully provided was easy enough, translating it to movement required a little more work. She focused on the easier order first. The sun was well beneath the horizon by the time she finished, and just before she was slated to open her shop, Arabelle sent off two separate messages apologizing to both customers for the delay -- notifying the more unfamiliar of the two about the status of her request.

     

    She didn't feel like lingering though. Leaving the crystal in plain view on the counter, Arabelle reset the permissions of her new lock and left the shop for the night.
