[Shop-F1]The blazing Typhoon [Rank 10 Grand Master Blacksmith]

Recommended Posts

Yawning at yet another long day at his shop, Macradon was slumped down into his chair at the counter, there hadn't been much action today or yesterday, but he had done a bit of work these days, but nothing spectacular. As the bell rang for his shop entrance, Macradon quickly got up to greet the incoming customer "Hello and Welcome to the Blazing Typhoon! The na-. Oh, Bahr, good to see you! That was indeed quite fast!" Macradon said. Listening to Bahr, Macradon would grab a stool and reach it over the counter for Bahr to grab a hold of and sit down "Take a seat, let's talk history first." Macradon said and sat down. "There once was a player, so strong, so feared, multiple assassinations were planned to take him down. He was wild, he was uncontrollable, and very deadly. The player, or rather, man, was known as Ssendom, he was quite the character ... but you really wanted to be on his good side, because he was a menace for those that angered him. He was the wielder of one of the Unique Skills, the Berserker skill, he had ... tendencies to lust for blood, he became more animalistic the more he used his skills. His skill made him capable of sucking out the life essence of his enemies, and that essence kept him fighting for longer, he had a lot of endurance, but it came with a price. He usually fought monsters and bosses, and sucking their essence made him less human, he kept getting the blood lust, he kept longing for more essence, and he had to be brought down one day ... and he did." Macradon said and took a little pause from his history lesson. "Well, he was the one wielding one of the only Curved Two Handed swords I have ever seen, never have I seen any other. It was the legacy of Ssendom, it was the Scarecrow's Sickle, a weapon dropped by the Pumpking boss. Ssendom later met another Two Handed Sword wielder, and he handed down his legacy of the Scarecrow's Sickle to that person. And ..." Macradon said and opened up his inventory "I think it's time that one person handed down the legacy even further. Ssendom was not a good person, Ssendom was a menace to the inhabitants of Aincrad, but he had done quite a lot to get us where we are today, if not for him, we wouldn't have gotten as far in floor bosses as we have today." Macradon finished and opened up a trade window for Bahr to open with the Scarecrow's Sickle inserted as an offer from Macradon. “I’d like you to have it, I see a lot of myself in you, and I’d rather have someone to use this weapon instead of me just having it collect dust in my inventory. I’d like to hand it down for generations to come, for those that dare wield Two Handed swords, for those that want to get stronger and need a little boost, this is one way of doing so.” Macradon commented.

Bahr took a seat on the freshly placed stool, leaning against the counter top with his elbows and lacing his fingers together. He listened intently while Macradon shared the tale of Ssendom, a name that Bahr had actually heard once or twice before. He nodded as Mac described him as dangerous, bloodthirsty, and a menace. Bahr had heard such descriptions of the man before, but it had always been secondhand knowledge. This was his first time he was hearing it from someone who seemed to know from firsthand experience. He leaned back as he explained that Ssendom had to be taken out. He remembered hearing about that too, that the Berserker of Aincrad was no more and that the citizens could rest easy once more. Bahr knew that it had been a sham at the time - not that Ssendom was no more, but that the citizens were now safe. Nobody was ever safe in this death game.

His eyes widened as Macradon continued, explaining that he had inherited the weapon and that it was now time to pass it down to someone else. He simply blinked at the trade request that populated in front of him, not really sure how to react. He stared at it for a minute, glancing back up at Macradon and giving him a look as though to say, Are you absolutely sure about this? He looked dead serious. Hesitantly, Bahr accepted the trade request, and the items stats populated on the trade window that follow. His jaw literally dropped. "Macradon... Are you sure about this? This has got to be one of the deadliest weapons in Aincrad. We barely know each other, do you really think that someone like me should have this?"

Macradon nodded “I’m sure. I myself have no need for this weapon, my fiancé doesn’t like the look of the weapon, and I am in no connection with anyone else who wields this type of weapon, and Equipment Transformers aren’t easy to come along, so I just thought it would be a good idea to pass it onto someone who could actually use it.” Macradon said with a confident tone and a smile. “It’s only Tier 2, it has its potency, and it has aided me a long way through the floors of Aincrad, but it's subpar compared to what the frontlines offer right now, you who have much more to explore and learn will have much more use of this weapon. I trust you, I deem you worthy. But don’t you worry, if I don’t seem you worthy at a later date, I will let you know, and I will get it back if necessary, It’s not a threat, it’s a warning, I really want you to have this, and I don’t want to regret this decision. I’ve given multiple Demonic weapons away that I have regretted doing so. Those players were not worthy, nor could they use the weapons to their full potential, those players are no more.” Macradon said with a rather stern voice, he was sure  that Bahr, even though he was still a rookie, would be able to use the Scarecrow's Sickle properly “But so aren’t the weapons …” he added with a sadder tone than when he said the wielders had perished. “I hope that if you do come across another player who can use it when its usefulness has depleted for you, and pass it on to the next generation that needs it.” Macradon said.

Bahr simply stared at the trade menu as Macradon spoke, listening intently but not taking his eyes off of the screen. He couldn't help but feel like there had to be strings attached to this. A Demonic quality weapon? For free? Unheard of. Bahr liked Mac, but he didn't want to owe the man too many favors. If what he was saying was true, Bahr would have to find a way to return the favor at some point, even if Macradon didn't expect it. He silently accepted the trade, and the weapon was transferred to his inventory.

He equipped it instantly, his old sword on the counter fading away as the new one materialized in his palms. He held it out from his body, marveling at the craftsmanship and testing the weight. "It's heavy..." he remarked as he took a test swing, the blade carving through the air with a satisfying whistle. He felt the power from the blade flooding through his arms and into his center mass.

"I don't really know how to thank you," Bahr said, sheathing the blade against the small of his back. "I'm honored the be regarded so highly by the mighty Macradon. I promise I won't let you down."

Macradon would chortle and smile “Aye, and it’s also quite the peculiar blade … I had to practice a lot before I got used to the curvature of the blade.” Macradon commented. “The way you can repay me, is to make sure that you get as much usage of that weapon as possible, and when the time comes, you pass it down to the next in line to wield that weapon. That’s all I ask for at this point.” Macradon replied, there wasn’t much in what Macradon wanted out of this other than passing on a weapon he did not need, that he had no use anymore. “Do you have any questions regarding this transaction or anything in general? I can try to answer as much as I know.” Macradon said to Bahr, if there was anything he could help this man with, he wanted to right now, he really wanted to.

"Yeah, it's pretty thin. I'm used to a thicker blade. It looks like I'll need to work on new parrying techniques," he said with a nervous chuckle as he rubbed the back of his head. He nodded at Macradon's request. "Definitely, I'll make sure someone worthy of handling this sort of power gets their hands on it when the time is right. Until then, I'll put it to good use."

When Macradon asked if Bahr had any questions for him, he tapped his chin and pondered for a moment. "Not that I can think of, it seems pretty straight forward to me. But when you least expect it..." he looked up to the man across the counter, his expression serious but punctuated with a wry grin, "I'm gonna bring you something wild to make up for this."

It was around this time that Bahr noticed the banging and clanking of a hammer striking against hot metal coming from the back of the shop. Bahr looked at Mac, then to the door leading to the back, then a double take back to Mac. "Say Mac..." Bahr mused as he leaned to the side to get a better look at the door. "If you're out here, how are you doing work in the back of the shop?"

Macradon nodded at Barh’s comments “The weight distribution is different, not that much lighter than a regular two handed sword, but the weight is just … much different.” Macradon added. “If you can find something to satisfy me for doing this,  then I’ll be more than happy to accept it. I didn’t really think of anything for giving this away. It was my old mentor’s … but that bond has slowly been broken over time.” Macradon said with a rather disappointed tone over the course of the sentence. Looking over his shoulder towards the back door leading down to his smithy Macradon smiled and pointed towards it with his thumb over his shoulder “Oh, that’s just my apprentice giving his all!” Macradon said, smiling that he finally had the chance to call Alec his apprentice other than say it to Alec himself, it was quite something to be able to tell someone you had an apprentice in your shop.

"Huh! Macradon's apprentice. Now there's a man I'd like to meet," Bahr hinted as his eyes flickered back to Macradon. He simply sat there, nodding but not seeming to catch on. "Ahh man, are you really gonna make me ask? Please Mac, I'd like to meet your apprentice. Think he can come out and say hi?" Bahr was in an uncharacteristically good mood. The acquisition of a new weapon and the entirety of Tier two in front of him, he felt like he could tackle the world. It was nice to have people in this world he could count on. He figured he would just need to pay it forward to whoever may need it in the future.

Macradon chortled at Bahr’s comment “If you’d like to meet him it won’t be that difficult at all.” Macradon said and turned his body towards the back door @Alec! A “customer” would like to meet you!” Macradon shouted out down to his apprentice who was busy with work or training down at the forge. Macradon would turn back to Bahr and say “He’s probably gonna be here in a very short while, he’s really quick when it comes to direct instructions, so it’s really not that hard being his mentor, he does his work and he’s reliable when it counts.” Macradon said with a smile, awaiting Alec to came up from the smithy.

Alec was in the forge working in heavy armor pieces as his mentor had instructed him to work on crafting. He'd already forged a Perfect set of Heavy Armor and was struggling between Salvaging and producing pieces that we no better than practice armor. So Alec finished up his task and stepped from the forge into the back of the shop. As he entered he ducked to step through the doorway. As he cleared the doorway he stood up to his full height of nearly six and a half feet tall and called out in his deep baritone rumble. "Yes Macradon? You called for me?" The large man asked as he walked through the back of the shop cleaning his hands off on a rag that he stuffed into his back pocket when he was finished he stepped up to stand beside his mentor. As Alec noticed the man seated across from his mentor a wide smile spread across the large man's face. "Bahr!! How the heck are you? Taking a break from Dagger I see." The large man offered with a deep chuckle. "Looking for a new weapon? Or.....wait.....are you upgrading to heavy armor? I can make you a real nice set Mitigation or Thorns man. I got you."  The large man finished with a wide smile.

Bahr's eyes widened as the larger man lumbered clumsily through the threshold, recognizing him at the same time as he recognized Bahr. "Alec! Wow, I had no idea you knew Macradon, much less worked for him!" He shook the man's hand enthusiastically, scoffing when he mentioned upgrading to heavy armor. "'Upgrade?' Oh man, Alec, you know better than that." He patted his coat proudly. "My own work. And it does the strangest thing - instead of lowering damage, I just don't take any," he said coyly, grinning at the man. "Let me know when you want to upgrade to Light Armor, though."

"Nah, your boss was just graciously handing off an heirloom of sorts to me,"
he said flatly, casting a glance to Macradon.

Looking at Bahr’s comment about his light armor being evasion type armor, Macradon would chortle and add his own comment “What! Then my Phase attacks are useless against your armor! I won’t be able to halve your mitigation with that attack and will only be able to hit you with the full brunt of the attack!” Macradon said with a joking tone in his voice. “Yeah, my old mentor’s old sword, I’m handing it down to the next Two-Handed Sword wielder, I have no real use of it anymore, and with it just sitting there collecting dust, it just didn’t make sense that this wouldn’t be in use to help the people of Aincrad to ascend the levels, why have it kept away when someone could use it for others.” Macradon said, reasoning his trade with the Scarecrow’s Sickle.

Alec listened to both man go back and forth like old friends relaxing with friendly banter. The larger man stood by and nodded at their comments. "Well my friend." Alec began in his deep baritone rumble. "Some of dance around avoiding attacks. Some of us wade in waist deep and slog it out in the trenches. Fights take both kinds and we both fill our roles." The large finished as he looked at Bahr. "Well, if Macradon here has a sword that was handed from his mentor to himself, and now himself to you you're now part of a strong lineage." Alec stated as he glanced down to his mentor. "I don't know your mentor but if he's half the man you are." Then he was a pretty powerful person." Alec said as his eyes moved to Macradon. "Which means YOU." Alec shifted his gaze back to Bahr. "Got some pretty big shoes to fill. Do the man proud." Alec ended as he stood by the two men.

"Geez - no pressure, right?" Bahr asked with a chuckle, his feet swinging from the stabilizers of the stool he had been sitting on and making contact with the ground. He stood and raised his arms above his body, stretch for a moment before pressing a knuckle against his chin and wrenching his neck in one direction, then again in the other to pop as many vertebrae as possible. He concluded the display of snapping and cracking with his knuckles, interlacing his fingers and flexing them outward and away from his body, popping every last one.

"Well, it's been fun, gentlemen. But I have a date with this new sword and a field of mobs. I'll catch ya later, and thanks again."

With that, he turned and walked toward the door, offering a backhanded wave before twisting the handle and stepping through the threshold.

Macradon chortled “Lots of pressure!” he said with a slight laugh hiding behind his words. Nodding at the two, Macradon would wave goodbye at Bahr as he left the premises. Looking back over at Alec “That was fun, didn’t know how many people you knew, but I guess it's bound to happen that you would know at least some of the people who visit this shop.” Macradon said and shrugged his shoulders. “But yeah, back to work.” Macradon said and would escort Alec back to the smithy for them to look at his training for today and what he should improve upon.

The Blazing Typhoon was a Smithy on Floor 1. He'd heard that a Grandmaster Blacksmith worked out of this shop. It was a rarity indeed to find such an accomplished craftsman down here on the lower floors. But hey, Oscar wasn't complaining. With his new Potions of Immolation, he had just enough Col to requisition a breastplate to accompany their use. He entered the shop, his nose assaulted by the smell of smoke and hot steel. He approached the order form and filled it out, making sure to be as descriptive as possible with his desired piece of armor. Then, he hit submit, but not before attaching 8 T1 Materials to the order form as means of compensation for the order. He would check back later to see if it was finished, but for now, he'd spent quite a lot of Col and Materials. He needed to do something to make that back.

With his apprentice now ready to go on his journey, Macradon thought that it was finally his time to do some work again, it had been a while, but it was surely not forgotten, or so he hoped. As the day went on a customer entered his shop, standing up from his chair, Macradon would smile, wave, and greet as he usually did with new customer “Hello and Welcome to the Blazing Typhoon! The name’s Macradon, and what can I do for you today?” he asked and took the request “Alright, I’ll get it done ASAP.” he said and went to his smithy.

Oscar returned from Floor 17 with <<Hestia's Flame>> in hand. It had been over an entire day since he had journeyed up to Mt Olympia. Once he got back to the lower floors he decided to stop by The Blazing Typhoon to see how his order was coming along. He walked in the door, greeted again by the thick smell of smoke and molten metal. He looked around, hoping to find Macradon in the shop. He couldn't see the blacksmith, so he decided to grab a seat and wait. He was quite tired from the previous day's exertions. Perhaps Macradon wouldn't mind if he grabbed a nap while he waited. Oscar's eyes grew heavy until he just couldn't hold them open anymore. He folded his head into his chest and quickly began snoring away, his body demanding some much-deserved rest.
