(PP-F15) Running Through the Forest (Zelrius)

Recommended Posts

Manta waited near the teleporter on the fifteenth floor, patiently sitting around and waiting for Zelrius to show up. She was a bit scared to see him today, after having finally taken that kitsune potion the other night, and changing up her style with her new kimono and mask that she was now using as a hair ornament of sorts. She looked so radically different that she wouldn't actually be surprised if he didn't recognize her at first. She only hoped that he would like the change... He had certainly seemed to enjoy the cat potion, although it wasn't really her thing. If all went well on that front, today they would be hunting through the forest for a subdungeon, and hopefully level up again. Manta really needed the skill points, especially after having wasted thirteen skill points n heavy armor, a skill that she didn't really even want.

Zelrius went through the gate a bit apprehensively. His last 'date' with Manta had gone well, but he felt like he wasn't being assertive enough. She had even gone as far as to suggest the Inn, and he didn't jump at the opportunity. The Commandant was afraid that he may start to be a little too passive, and that Manta would leave him for 'Being too much of a nice guy', which over all, was the last thing the golden haired boy wanted. On top of that, He was just on the lower floors, doing a few quests with a low level girl named Cilla, and was paranoid that somehow Manta found out and would hate him for even going on a quest with her, let alone some of the things he said. No more of that [censored], he told himself in light of that. Zelrius reasoned he was better than that, and from now on Manta would get his undivided attention if she asked for it, and he would stop being so Flirty with other girls. After stepping through the portal, Zelrius looked around and saw familiar white hair, but what threw him off was the Ears, Tail and Kimono. He wasn't sure whether or not it was Manta, but took the risk to sit next to the figure and just begin petting it.

Manta smiled as Zelrius came through the portal onto the fifteenth floor, almost immediately coming over to her and sitting down next to her, petting her fox ears. She wouldn't have faulted him if he hadn't recognized her, but it seemed like he had easily. She leaned into his petting, enjoying the feeling. She figured that they should enjoy this moment while they could. They spent plenty of time working and helping out other players, plus fighting the bosses and preparing. Moments like these didn't come all the time. She sighed happily and reached over to grasp his free hand, holding it gently.

It was clear within moments that it was Manta, much to Zelrius' relief. There was no way the boy could deal with the social embarassment of randomly walking up to some girl he didn't even know and doing something as strange as petting. As Manta leaned into his pets and took his other Hand, Zelrius leaned against her slightly, sharing the same sentiment. It was always one thing after another, especially with the Rank of Commandant the constant Mental tiredness he faced. As they sat there, simply not talking and not being bothered by a single soul, Zelrius allowed his mind to simply numb out for the moment, wanting nothing more than to just sit here for a while and do this. It was strange really, not that long ago, They had a very awkward and difficult date, and now Manta was pretty much always there with him.

Manta found it strange how on their first date she had said that she felt neutral about Zelrius, and now they were sitting and cuddling just a little while later. She supposed that they had bonded through their duties as frontliners, the constant stress and work involved. They had been sitting there for a few minutes now, and this was generally the point where Manta would stand up and say that they had to get going. She was just usually in a rush to get done with things. She really didn't want to end this moment though, so she found herself continuing to lean on Zelrius and hold his hand.

Zelrius didn't know quite how long they were sitting there, closing his eyes and just enjoying the peaceful moment of silence, hoping to god that no other frontliners happened to walk through and notice or bother them. While Zelrius knew full well that he and Manta should probably do something half productive today, but it was far beyond his desires. One thing that rang in his mind from the last time he spent with her was the food thing. "Did you pack anything from Dom's shop for Lunch today?" Knowing she probably didn't, and filled his inventory with dishes of food, ready to spoil her with goodies and snacks.

Manta slowly sat up as Zelrius started to speak, still gripping his hand. As he asked if she had packed anything from Dom she remembered what he had said last night. It seemed like he was going to keep that promise, something that she hadn't expected. "No, I didn't." She replied. "But I always have some bread and the like with me." She mentioned. Now that the moment had been disturbed, she felt as though they should get moving. She just wasn't very good at sitting around during the daytime when she could be doing something else. She just wasn't very good at relaxing anyway.

As she sat back up and began speaking, the moment now over, Zelrius gave a slight whine. He was extremely disappointed by that conversation of any ruining something like and he wished at that moment that he hadn't even said anything. He sat back up, his hand rhythmically squeezing hers now using the hand that wasn't holding hers to go through his inventory. "I figured not, That's okay, I packed some for both us." Since what he wanted  to do all day was over, the Boy stood back up and began going through his gear, activating a bloodrage crystal in the process. "Since someone doesn't like cushy moments, we should get a move on," Though it was a full on complaint, the Commandant tried his best to disguise it more as teasing than anything else. "This floor is largely unexplored, so we should run around a bit, possibly run into some mobs, and if we're lucky, go Dungeon Delving today. Any Comments, Questions or Concerns?"

Manta sighed, not really feeling like doing any sort of dungeon grinding anymore. It looked like Zel was all set to go though. She unsheathed her rapier. "Nope, no questions or anything. If your all set to go so am I." She said, ignoring Zelrius' complaint about how she didnt like cuddly romantic moments. He could deal with it though. She stood up next to him, waiting for him to lead the way.
