[F4 - El Quarto Instructor Performer] CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Recommended Posts

Itzal continued his crafting, attempting to make a few perfects this time around.  He was still on the porch of his house strumming the instruments.  As he made some songs he was wondering what kind of element Velnia should switch to.  He knew the Phoenix drop could switch her element and color, but he wasn't exactly sure which one..  He wanted it to be unique, something that would give them an advantage.  There was also what Velnia was interested in taking on.  The dragon sat beside him, cuddling close to him.  He continued to craft songs until he managed to make some perfect.  To help get him to a higher rank he went ahead and used up the rest of his crafting attempts.  When he was done with the phoenix, he'd go gather some materials afterwards.  He wanted to try maxing out his crafting so he could have looting items and debuffs at any time he needed them.  He also needed to train up and max out stealth...

Ever since he had stopped fighting as Itzal, and began to fight as Are, he'd noticed a change in his thinking patterns. You do after all become the mask you wear. But he didn't believe that was a bad thing. After all he was fighting to protect players, and to do that he needed to lurk in the shadows, and watch his enemies in secret. He'd be making himself a target for many player killers out there for certain, but he knew that would happen regardless. At any rate, he needed to make a few songs in preparation for whenever someone actually did carry out their threats and attempt to surprise attack him. He should probably make some for the front lines too, just in case. They were after all, the ones facing the unknown bosses of the floors. And he wanted to help everyone escape as quickly as possible. At the end of the day his crafting wasn't that bad. He'd made three perfects, one of the masterpieces and a few others. Half of his work was salvages and failed salvages but that was fine.

Crafting more songs for himself than the frontlines, he crafted these with a pain and rage in his heart. He'd lost Kasier. His love, his wife. Her name spelled out on the monument... He'd lost Velnia, his familiar whom he'd spent so much time with that she'd become almost real to him. And with these emotions of pain and hatred he poured his soul into his work. His songs. However the hatred didn't last long. In fact, after his first song he quickly shifted to more sorrowful, pain filled, longing like songs. The longer he played, the more he felt it. Until he'd finished his final song and dropped his instruments, crying as the rain poured down on him. Falling to his knees, Felix howled into the air, tormented by the emptiness he now felt. Having driven himself into the shadows. Disconnected from his friends. And having lost his family. He was in fact. Truly alone in this cold digital world.

Today was unlike the others. Today he was crafting specifically for a dungeon expedition. He hadn't done anything like this in a very, very, VERY long time. Not only because dungeons didn't give him the experience points he needed anymore due to outleveling them, but because... Well... He had no one to do them with really. At any rate, Itzal needed to craft as much as he could. He already had a few debuffs left over, so he'd focus on healing songs as much as possible. He didn't want anyone to die. Especially Zandra... Working quickly to make his songs, he ended up working a bit too hastily, resulting in only two perfects. There were several rares that came out of it however, so it wasn't a total loss. They could still heal some, though he bet Zandra would have more healing potions. He'd really wanted to make mass healing songs, but he had to work with what he had. Grabbing his stuff quickly and pulling up his cowl, he ran to the teleporter to catch up with the others.

Itzal had NO time to waste. The raid was happening in a few days, and he needed to craft as many usable debuff songs as he possibly could in that allotted time. From what they told him, the actual boss would likely use the bodies of living or dead as it's own puppets. They had no idea how many 'puppets' this thing could possess in the boss fight, but Itzal knew that his debuffs wouldn't affect them all. If it was a masterpiece, it would affect either one instantly, or everyone within the vicinity. If the boss only possessed one at a time, then mass masterpiece would be useless. In that case, only the instant masterpiece would likely do anything at all. With that in mind, he got to work. Today, he managed to successfully craft a perfect, two rares and a rare masterpiece. But no perfect masterpiece yet. That was fine, he'd get there soon. Putting away all of the consumables he'd managed to craft, he pressed on to the next task for the day.

Second day of crafting. Itzal was working hard and almost tirelessly to get this task done. He had a large quota to fill with very minimal time. He couldn't deal much damage at all to any monster, let alone a floor boss, so DoTs and debuffs were his strongest area... Well just debuffs, seeing as how the last time he fought a floor boss with DoTs his luck was non existent... Quite literally. However, this time, with Zandra at his side. Maybe things would be different this time around. However mulling over potential futures wasn't getting him anywhere, and wouldn't give the front lines any progression either. At any rate he got to work, Aldion watching with interest as he played the songs and crafted the items. He got three perfects and three rares today, which was awesome... But no masterpieces this time around. Well he had perfects in case plan a failed at least.

Feeling the pressure coming on as the days closed in to the final deadline, Itzal shot like a bolt of lightning from the teleporter into the workshop of his house. He grabbed his instruments so fast he worried he damaged or broke them. He sat down and immediately started to play the first song into a crystal, getting the rhythm going. Once he found his groove (AKA after several failures) he finally managed to find his groove and crafted another perfect masterpiece... Along with an utterly wretched product that would give nobody anything. Not even amusement. Tossing that one out, he sighed, letting a heavy breath go. This was starting to get a bit taxing. He really wanted to level up to the fifth rank soon, but that was NOT going to happen. Not for a while now. He supposed it was the balancing,  but at the rate he was going, they'd have yet another floor raid going before he was close to the final rank... Why did performers still only have five ranks again?

This was the second day until the deadline. He needed to get those masterpieces crafted. He had several rares at this point, enough to satisfy the quota. However he really wanted to get the perfect masterpieces, as soon as he could. That way, even if his damage was pathetic, he could still attack and deal damage, and roll the dice for his luck, while also applying a powerful debuffing effect upon the boss itself. At any rate, this day's crafting attempt wasn't very promising. He got a rare masterpiece and a perfect, but that was pretty much it. Sighing in frustration, he looked at the two debuffs he currently had. Maybe he could get by with these, but he wasn't willing to bet on that. He'd need one more for it to be truly complete. He'd like more rare masterpieces after that, but somehow he doubted he'd be that lucky.

The last day! He had only one more day to try and meet his own personal quota. Today he chose to try and calm himself down a bit so that he could completely focus on getting the melody of the craft as PERFECT as he possibly could. He thought of everyone who'd be fighting with him. Zandra. Mina. Morgenstern. Baldur. Hidden. Macradon. People he'd grown to respect, love, befriend. And even Hidden who seemed to truly want to make a change. Mari whom he wanted to get to know a little better. They had to win this fight. They had to know that they could win this game. That no matter how hard the obstacles, they could push through. With that in mind. He crafted his final perfect masterpiece, along with one perfect, three rare, and three uncommon. Not only did he craft what he needed to, he gained lots of experience points for his profession today. He quickly packed the items he would be bringing, and went off to prep for the fight...

It had been.... Too long, since Itzal had come back to his shop and crafted some items to use for not only the front lines, but also personal use. Such as going on quests, events, or just monster grinding. Not only that, but he wanted to try and open up his shop again as Itzal, and get himself back into the world with that name. His name. Not as Are, his alias. But before he did so, he needed to stock up a LOT of items... And given the fact that it took a long while to craft any good items, he had the feeling that this would be taking a long while. When he managed to craft three perfects however, he wondered if this wasn't going to be as hard as he thought...

It wasn't going as well as before. Things were rather slow as he tried to shake off the rust. At the rate he was going, he'd only make good songs with the system making them good. He had been so busy with taking down player killers, taking on quests, and so on that he'd slacked off on his talent to play music... Though to be fair he didn't really have that talent outside of SAO, so maybe all of his skill WAS from the game... For today at least, he didn't do well regardless. He completely failed the first two, and barely managed to create the next few. He made one that was alright, and one that legitimately sounded good to his ears. Once he'd finished he looked at his songs and sighed before collecting them and putting them in their appropriate bins. Taking a sigh, he turned and walked to his bedroom to get some rest.

Returning to his workshop in his house, he stretched his arms and hands before taking his guitar and sitting down. Time to try and craft more consumables, he began his attempts, but quickly found his guitar to be in the need of tuning. After doing so he played a perfect song. His attempts began fluctuating between successful attempts and failures. Whenever he failed however, it wouldn't be as bad as he feared most of the time, and thus he was able to salvage some materials. With him crafting a few debuffs they would need, he figured he should knock some support songs out of the way, as most players liked looting and staying alive over reducing enemy stats.

Far from stopping, Itzal returned once again to his workshop and jumped right into it. For the most part he was doing ok, then Aldion cawed out of nowhere, causing him to jump and the song ended abruptly. He looked to his raven familiar. "Jeez, don't pop out of nowhere like that! You gave me a heartattac- well... Actually I can't but... Never mind." Returning to his job, he continued to play his music, only this time Aldion started bobbing his head to the music. Smiling to see his familiar joining in, he was inspired and ended up making several perfects, though none of them were masterpieces.

Most days he never really put much attention in the types of songs he crafted. Unless it was a custom order he would always just use similar songs. Nowadays he just used selected songs for specific enhancements continually. Unfortunately he wasn't having all that much success with it today. He just wasn't feeling up to it all that much, kind of wishing he had some custom orders... However he also knew he couldn't just open up the shop again without a decent stock set up for his customers. And with that being the case... He continued on.

Coming back for another round of crafting, he jumped right into his project and managed to start the day off with a fully blown perfect enhancement. However the rest of them were a hit or a miss. Some were rare, some failed. And the in between he made a few uncommons. And yet, despite those failures and lack of multiple perfects, let alone perfect masterpieces, this was slowly bringing him back into the state of enjoying the process of crafting consumables. Or more accurately, he was starting to have fun playing songs again. When he went to bed, he turned in with a smile.

Patience worked out in the end. Patience, and a lot of practice that is. He did get rusty after all. However he was incredibly comfortable now as he sat on his porch chair, his guitar in his lap, as he played one cord after another. Even if it was the same old music and song he'd been making the last few days, and that it was him who was playing it, it was rather relaxing for him to hear it aloud. He hummed to the tune and it gradually got better and better... Until he was just so relaxed that he messed up on a few. Either way, he ended up falling asleep on the chair.

Today Itzal decided to experiment a little bit. He wanted to see how far he could change the songs without them sounding too far from what he had intended the song to be. Unfortunately as a result, he didn't get many perfect consumables, and none of them were perfect. He did get some good results though, and managed to make one that was in fact unique while remaining along the same song. While he wasn't able to craft as much as before, he was able to salvage most of the materials at least, so while he didn't get perfect masterpieces, he'd call today a success.

Returning to his shop once again, he decided to try today what he had the day before: playing his songs slightly different but not so different that it became a different song. Slightly different pitches here and there, louder intros, and so forth. It was proving harder for him to do today though. Part of him just wasn't as up to it as he hoped he would be. It was unfortunate, but that was the case. He began to play his songs until he'd used up all of the system's available crafting attempts. Once he'd finished, he hung his guitar up and went to bed.

Itzal was satisfied... Partially that is.

He'd finally crafted perfect masterpieces. Specifically two of them. One support and one debuff. With these as well as the two rare masterpieces, once again one support and one debuff, he believed he was ready to open the shop again.. Later. He was tired after all. And he could always craft a few more items for when he went out to do monster grinding to gather loot and col, as well as dungeons and quests to gather all of their rewards. With those he'd need healing songs, debuff songs, and songs to increase monster drop chances.
