[BR-F21] Paving the Way to Floor 22 (Floor 21 Boss Battle - Tesseleth the Tyrant)

Recommended Posts

Ruby and Itzal take 100 points of unmitigated DMG for not posting on time.

The puny players had managed to stop the might Tesseleth in his tracks yet again. They would face the wrath of his burning flame the moment he could move again. Fire poured from the corners of his mouth, the dragon seething with rage. One of its knights had already been defeated, leaving a single minion to fight against the players. Tesseleth kept its piercing red eyes on the players, as the obsidian knight charged into battle. One of the players, who seemed a bit scared of the dragons awesome might, was the knights target. With a quick charge, the pauldron of the knight smacked into the young Itzal, knocking him into the air. The sword of the knight soon followed, leaving a deep red gash up the boys body, knocking him onto his back.

Boss Room Info: The boss room is a large cavern, with many earthen columns, stalactites, and stalagmites. Littered throughout the room are crystallized warriors who seem to be frozen in place... and time. Some of the ones that remained intact inside the crystals wore solemn and determined expressions while others showed fear and agony as though they have seen pure hell in their last moments. They wore different types armors and weapons but most of the ones inside the crystals in relatively good condition, wore long dark colored capes.

Several shallow pools of clear water lay scattered throughout the cave, they resemble dark spots in the ground, reflecting what awaits above. The ceiling of the cave is high and obscured by darkness, preventing players from seeing the top. Up there ,on a large perch, stands a large winged creature watching down over this desolated domain of darkness. A dragon engulfed in obsidian scales and mists notices movement and noises below. It lets out a loud high pitched warning roar towards all that try to trespass into his capital lands.

Tesseleth Abilities:

First Attack: Tesseleth’s first attack against the first active party will be Dragon Fire. If he is dropped below 75% health in the first round, he will use Dragon Fire, and THEN do his HP related move set.

Slash (Basic Attack): CD 1-7:  Deals 350 Mitigable Damage with it’s claws and/or mouth, to its main target.

??? : CD 8-10:

Dragon Fire (AoE Attack) : CD 11-12: Deals 100 unmitigatable damage and sets the active party's main and 3 secondary targets on fire, dealing 50 Burn DOT3. Players may jump into one of the 15 pools of clear water that are scattered around the room and cancel the DOT3; it takes one post action and after usage, a pool shrivels up and disappears.

HP Related Moves : When Tesseleth loses 25% of it’s health (It has 4 Health Bars) it revives crystallized knights which attack after the next party. The dragon flies up to its perch where it can't be attacked. On its next turn, the dragon releases a (Party AoE Attack) against the active party then drops down where it can be attacked again.

The battle was going nicely, but one this was really getting on his mind. Enraged by what had happened, Macradon would try to get ready to fling another AOE sword art out, dealing a massive amount of damage across multiple enemies, but the thing that really got into his mind was the damn stun lock he was put into. The first stun was what it was, a stun targeted to him at that point, but now it seemed like they were all focussing on stunning Macradon for good until they had been taking good care of the two others in his party. The one with the AOE capabilities was locked down by stuns, and it wasn’t good. He was taking a good amount of damage as well, only 200 HP from going down into yellow health, and he hadn’t been down there for quite a while now, so quite the experience at a boss raid.

Seiichi sucked his teeth at the two members of his group. One had gone and gotten stunned, while the other seemed to just not move fast enough for his tastes. "Fine. I'll do it myself." he said under his breath as he prepared the blades of Michael and Lucifer. Pale blue eyes locked with the piercing red of Tesseleth, before they shifted to the soulless gaze behind the obsidian helmet. "I'll deal with you first... since no one else can." The tips of his blades scraped against the stone floor of the cavern as the swordsman ran forward at the knight. Its focus seemed to be completely on one of the other players, giving Seiichi and open shot at the obsidian armor. Unleashing his strongest sword art yet again, the knight had been decimated, its body that had been sliced to bits shattering like glass as they hit the cold ground. The man then looked up towards the roof of the cavern, letting out a satisfied breath at the sound of the knight's body decomposing.

The battle continued to rage on as Calrex's eyes calmly scanned the battlefield, checking how the other teams were doing. Even though the combat was dragging on, it seemed that the tanks for the most part were holding up just fine. "Not too surprising. Shield and Morgenstern both have built themselves as full-blown tanks from the get go. I was the one that decided to have a defensive array later on, so if anything I was the one that showed last to the party."

The massive blow from earlier did seem like it was intended to be a debilitating blow, but his combined skills seemed to be sufficient at absorbing the strike. However, the followup attacks certainly did do a number to one of his other team members as he watched Macradon's health bar drop below three quarters. It wasn't to the point that it changed color, but enough to be noticeable. Reaching down the bluenette prepared to pull out a Safeguard, but decided against it as he watched Death_Adder rush in and eliminate the remaining knight. With only Tesseleth left, the Ultramarine Knight decided to bolster his defenses once again, "No idea what that giant dragon has got planned. It wouldn't be the first time that a boss pulled out some stunt when its health bar drops far down."

With that, the only other big thing to note was that one of his old friends, Ariel, seemed to have not acted for long enough that the game system decided to boot her from the fight. A sweatdrop formed on the side of his head at the realization, "Seems rather odd, going from what she's been about for the longest time, taking pride and such in her combat prowess from the real world. Now she decided to not even participate. I guess something else might be happening, and I'll just leave that to Zandra and the others to figure out."

Even though Tesseleth was now on stun immunity cooldown, the bluenette remembered that his most powerful Sword Art while wielding a shield, without being an AOE, was a Stun-augmented attack. Taking a step forward he prepared to charge <<Nova Ascension>>, but right as it seemed to build to a maximum charge, suddenly the blue glow fizzed out once again, causing Calrex to look over with a moment of confusion, "Something's not working here. Have I been that much out of practice with a sword because I've been using Martial Arts all this time?"

His moment to attack gone the Ultramarine Knight gave a sigh and awaited for the next opportunity to strike.

The mighty dragon's body shook until it freed itself from the paralysis, letting out a piercing roar as it rose to its hind legs. Both of its knights had been wiped out yet again, making him the main target of the players yet again. Standing high above the others, he looked down at all of the puny players, angry rising inside of him. Finally, the beast fell to all fours yet again, launching a purple and black spike towards Calrex. The projectile just missed, piercing into the stone ground and spreading out, similarly to how it had frozen the Ariel earlier. The dragon growled at the failed attempt to pierce another player to the wall. His eyes shifted to the first group yet again, waiting to see their pathetic attempt to defeat him.

Crystallize (Special Attack): CD 8-10, Tesseleth shoots a crystal spine at the active party's main target. The player becomes encapsulated in crystal (paralyzed) and loses 2 hate.  The player remains paralyzed until 100 Damage is dealt to the crystal in order to free him. Extra damage harms the trapped player, if it passes his/her mitigation. Tesseleth then immediately performs a (Basic attack) aimed at the non-crystallized main target.

Reaver : CD 6-10, the Knight uses charges towards first secondary target against itself or the boss (whichever it isn’t currently attacking) and activates the Reaver sword art, dealing 350 damage and stunning the target. It will then return to attacking the player with the highest hate against the knight.

Whirlwind : CD 11-12 the Knight uses the Whirlwind sword art to attack 4 secondary targets from the main target's party, for 275 each.

Recovery - ID# 93123 results: Craft: 12 [+6 EN] Passive [+1 EN] Battle Healing [+71 HP] Burn [50 dmg - 1/3 remaining] Healer [Cooldown: 2/5 turns]

Action: Energize > Death Adder [Shield: -10 EN, Death Adder: +8 EN]

Shield was left with a lot of difficult decisions. In the immediate, he was still on fire, as was the rest of his party. He could do nothing about it that would not monopolize his time and energy though, so for now, they would have to tough it out. Beyond that, his first duty was to protect the players around him, which he had done as best he could so far. He often extended that duty to playing energy support, but given how well he had supplied everyone off the bat, his team was in decent shape. His next duty was more personal, namely keeping his adventuring companion Beat supplied, but even with his energy being as low as it was, there was a bigger problem on the battlefield, and it extended to all of his other duties as well.

Their heaviest hitter - by far - was practically out of energy. He grit his teeth. Shield knew nothing about that player. He was not even sure he had properly caught a name. Still, the longer it took to take down Tesseleth, the more damage everyone would take and the more that everyone's resources would be taxed. Each time the mysterious man attacked, it shortened the length of the fight. He made up his mind and lifted up his voice.

"Support players!" he bellowed over the din of the combat, paying little mind to the still smoldering flames that licked up around his chest and legs. "Everybody is still at half health, so if you have the ability to energize, use it on our heavy hitters or we're going to be here taking attacks for a lot longer!" He exhaled forcefully, holding out his sword and focusing his energy at its tip. With a sweep of his arm, he flung the energy at Death Adder. "Heads up, stranger!" Turning again to face the masses, he called out again. "He seems to be hitting the hardest, so if you can, I say focus energy there!"

He did not feel good about the move, but he knew that tactically, it was their wisest option. He wished that he could spend his time parrying and trying to get extra bits of damage with a good counterattack, but there was too much that needed doing, and from what he could tell, he was the only person with the Energize skill on the battlefield. He hoped beyond hope that he was wrong, but it was still a fairly new skill on the skill tree. He wondered how many support players had even had time to invest in it properly. With a sigh, he turned to his party.

"Stay strong, everyone," he said, clashing his sword against the face of his shield. "We've been knocked around a little, but we're doing a lot better than the boss is right now. Keep it up!"

Jomei's hands continued to pat at the flames that scattered about his leather armor and green tunic, slowly eating away at his health bar. His teeth grit as he felt the discomfort of the flames. He looked around to the rest of his party, who seemed to be in the same predicament, wishing to snuff out the flames, but also not wanting to miss an opportunity to attack the boss. Now with the last of the Dragon Knights defeated, Tesseleth was wide open to their attacks yet again. Jomei looked to Shield as he called out to all of the players, rallying them with his words of hope, and how close they truly were to finishing this fight. Was it true.. or did the boss have one more trick up his sleeves that would truly test the players who opposed him.

One thing Shield had said had drawn his attention to one of the other players, Death Adder. Shield had taken notice to his low energy count from all of the continuous uses of that strong sword art. Jomei's fingers tightened around the handle of his rapier.. if his energy was this low, would he maybe stand a chance against him now? His mind trailed on the thought for a moment, before the sound of the fight raging on around him snapped him back to reality, his chance to attack having been missed.

Finally, the knights had been taken care of. Before they had scattered, they have dealt a pretty great number on all three groups. Zandra sighed. ‘’If people could have just attacked the knights from the start. This raid team really is full of amateurs.’’ She mumbled to herself while throwing irritated glance on the other teams. At least their group did all right. Well, maybe not everyone in the group since someone got trapped in a crystal. Zandra have seen the tank given energy to first his friend after Zandra requesting it. She thougth that was okay, but next he threw one of the energy balls at the new player. A player she had never seen before. A man that fought with two swords. And then Shield said, that supporters should energize the heavy hitters. At first thought Zandra raised her hand a bit and it started to shine. I am going low on energy, that’s true. And she have never healed a group this big before during an important. And she didn’t knew if she would have enough energy to heal them. And this fire that surrounded them all, it did felt good and a little cozy, but still it did ticked of at their health.

‘’Eh! Screw this!’’ she said and closed her fist around the handle of the axe, resulting in the shine faded out. The Berserk Healer had decided to go for the berserk part more then the healer part, for now. As Zandra ran towards the huge boss and started to ready her sword art, the axe gave out a black smoke, as it always did when its enchantment triggered. ‘’Haha, take this!’’ she screamed as the dubbel edge axe flew thru the air in a wide circle, making a long red stripe on the side on the boss. The power of the attack was dealt with such power it released and aftershock, dealing even more damage to the creature.

As the attack was done, she retreated to the rest of her group and prepared for the dragons counter. ‘’don’t worry guys, I am keeping an eye on your health and wont let any of you die.’’

The hunter watched carefully as the final health bar was nearing.  The creature was already well into its second to last health bar, and it was beginning to show new patterns that it didn't have before.  Especially, when Calrex's team was up.  The hunter kind of forgot about Ariel, but when a near similar attack almost happened to Calrex, the result nearly clicked.  It was almost like what was happening to the knights before they awoke:  frozen in crystal.  That was Tesseleth's game breaker!  Every attack was an anti-tank attack.  Made to get the tanks out of the way, and focus on the teams themselves.

With energy running low, and the end drawing near, they either had to burst the last of this things health, or play it slow and recover a bit now.  The hunter figured that once that last health bar was red, the last three knights would have a field day with them.  He was going to have Zandra heal everyone in the party, but anger had already taken her, and the "Berserk Healer" was already causing massive damage.  Damage, while not appreciated, would have been more suited for the knights when they came out.

"Hold strong everyone!  Recover what you can!  Once that health bar drops, we'll have those last three knights to deal with, if patterns still matter."

He shouted out before uncorking a masterpiece of his own appraisal.  A weird little bottle that swirled with silver and red liquid.  Chugging down the contents, he could have sworn that that was the worst tasting thing that he had ever had.  Why did it taste like a sandwich?

The dragon seemed to laugh, mocking the fear filled players of the first group as their armors scorched their bodies, eating away at their hit points even more. The only one of the group who had managed to land a hit against his might scales was the group's berserk healer, who decided to go less with the healing, and more with the first title. The girl's axe dug deep into the Tyrant's skin, causing the large beast to stagger to the side, snarling at the heavily armored noirette in anger, smoke billowing from the corners of its mouth.

Though, despite the heavy attack dealt against him, his focus was still on the first member of this pitiful party, the one who's words echoed throughout the large cavern. The man had not landed a single attack on the dragon, yet his focus remained on him, the mere sight of Shield causing the fire in his lungs to burn hotter. Launching himself forward, the dragon rose its clawed, obsidian arm above its head. With a powerful crash, Tesseleth's hand plowed into the armored player, dealing a bit of damage. The dragon searched to see if the man was still standing, growling when he saw that the powerful attack had merely done about half the damage. He hoped that this second group would provide a bit more entertainment for him.

Hikoru watched as the large dreagon charged Shield and knocked him with a large sound of metal on scales clanging through the cavern. Hikoru took the chance to attack while the dragon's back was turned, and he ran up his tail, jumping up high and landing on his head, stabbing him and then disappearing and re-appearing rapidly, dealing a large chunk of damage to the boss easily. His weapon glowed green as he attacked, the wounds inflicted by Hikoru having a green hue near the edges. He gave a smile as he knew that Limbo's Fang had come in clutch, and would deal a good amount of damage to the large foe. He gave a small chuckle as he backed away slowly, knowing he had gained a point of hate against him and would need to watch out, as he knew that with his luck he could get in trouble with the large creature if he saw him.

As the battle ensues, she had looked around at the fight, these dragon knights had seemed to just keep coming and coming however between all the parties we were able to neutralize them. Eventually @Zandra had spoken out a few moments, back however she just didn't have the time to honestly reply to her comment, she had said to her with a smirk and said "We're all human, we go through bumps in our lives. Don't worry about it, if you want. Invite me for a drink one day." she winked before looking back to her party where things happened, however she had looked over to @Itzal and saw that he was Stunned, her hands glowing white she had touched Itzal and removed his stun from his body. Pushing him upwards to fight again she had said to him "No sleeping on the job mister, get up and fight!" she had giggled pushing him forward towards the boss. Stepping back she had stayed back waiting for the boss to reach a extremely low point, hopefully to snipe.

Jonathan looked at the dragon that loomed in front of him, his eyes becoming full of anger. Everyone else was doing so well to bring down the bosses health, but as he attacked, the dragon ensured that he couldn't hit, as if it were mocking him, showing him that he was no damage dealer. Angered, he raised his curved bade. The next boss or the one after wouldn't make fun of him. He would bring down his sword with persision and skill. He looked to his right as Hikoru blasted past him, becoming a shadow before vanishing from sight, the only trace of him being a shadowy figure attacking at all different angles at the dragon, each hit taking much of the enemies health. The blond tank grunted, envy in his eyes. "Alright Dragon... I won't be made fun of any longer!" He charged forward, his blade charging up in a bright blue light with a wisp at the top as if it was alight. With a large leap off the ground, he charged towards the inside of the right wing, a weak point in all dragons armor from mythology.

He raced forward, but as the main target, himself, approached it changed directions, backing itself at him. Giving it the amount of space needed to burn him with its inferno, or snap its chompers around his waist. "THE HELL!" He rolled to the size to dodge a fall rock coming from the ceiling. "Why can't I hit you?" He growled, raising his shield to try and stop an incoming attack.

Itzal had been stunned by a knight who had caught him off guard.  The knight was gone now but still, it was rather annoying to say the least.  Itzal was lying there for a good while as he watched the events unfold, as the fire that coated his body continued to eat away at his health.  Velnia was trying to put out the fire but only moved it from one section of his body to the other.  Then he heard someone run over, Ruby, to release the stun off of him.  When she touched him he remembered Kasier and how she would help him, being the support build she was.  Itzal stood up and was about to thank Ruby when she pushed him towards the boss.  He swung his sword in a tight circle to adjust his previously stunned arm for combat as he launched after the boss again.  Leaping up and off of the cavern wall, he struck from overhead, landing another normal, and not so damaging blow against it's shoulder.  Well, not too damaging in the sense that it wasn't nearly as powerful a hit as the others.  His one handed straight sword being a serious disadvantage he only dealt around one hundred and forty but it was something.  He retreated quickly but showed no signs of fear of the Dragon.

Not much else I can do except keep the Boss from torching all of us I suppose.

Beat's less than full enthusiasm for the role he had fallen into so far was mostly due to the lack of feedback he got from his weaker sword arts. There was something indescribable about charging a rank five sword art. It would be inaccurate to describe it as a 'tingling' sensation, but it was probably the closest thing Beat could come up with the describe the sensation that using sword arts produced.

"Alright, I've got the boss again! Let's keep this up!"

I took less than a second for Beat to ready his attack as he charged forward, grateful for the lack of dragon knights. He was sure they would swing on him since he did not have threat, but weirder things had happened and taking in a boss fight was risky to say the least. His attack struck home and wrapped the dragon in electricity and ice as he returned to the group.

"Gotcha!"

The second group put up a much more valiant effort than the first had, more of the players managing to land a strike against the thick obsidian scales that lined Tesseleth's body. The dragon's gaze shot back and forth at each of the mosquitos that pecked at its body. One of the players, particularly one that Tesseleth had not noticed until now, seemed to pop out from the shadows, his dagger digging deep into the dragon's flesh. Piercing red eyes locked with the blue cloaked man for a moment, feeling the venomous effects seem into his blood. Tesseleth simply let out an angered roar before trying to shake the players off. However, before he could retaliate, the final player in the group rushed forward, the familiar attack not only sending a shock through Tesseleth's body that kept him locked in place, but also sent a freezing chill over his body, his scales nearly becoming ice. Damn these players, they would soon face his wrath. They would not make a fool out of the mighty Tesseleth.

Everything was going great, everyone dealing a solid steady amount of damage. The great dragon’s health was going down, slowly, but going down. Looking at his party’s trackers on his GUI, Macradon would look at the energy bars of the three players, noticing something was off. “Huh, I wasn’t aware it was that severe” he thought for himself as he saw Growth_Calculator’s energy reserves, they were low, really low. This was presumably because of the amassed energy used when fighting with two swords at the same time. Clicking his tongue, Macradon would rush up to the dragon as he felt his body being able to move again. As he approached he would let out a roar while executing the single hit sword art <Galaxy Destroyer>. A strike not as prominent as his other attacks, but withering the health bar of the dragon just a teeny tiny bit was enough for Macradon to feel good.

Item Switch: Grand Guard III > Tide Pendant
Free Action: One-Handed Straight Sword (Quick Change) -> Grand Blade III > Grand Gauntlets III

Stats Change:

Spoiler

DMG: 16 > 18
ACC: 2 > 3
EVA: 0 > 2
MIT: 144 > 119
Thorns: 28 > 0
Heavy Momentum: 3 > 0
Sword Arts: One-Handed Straight Sword > Martial Arts

Calrex glanced back as Macradon rushed forward to strike, also making note of the fact their hard-hitting teammate had to now take a breather in order to recover his energy levels. "Tch, I thought we would have been done before that happened. Guess the energy required to use Dual Blades really is more taxing as a reult of the high damage."

Looking forward the Ultramarine Knight watched as the red and white armored knight cleaved a notable amount of health from the floor boss, with apparently a little added on top due to the dragon being frozen. The bluenette's grip tightened around the Grand Blade III, but as much as he wanted to take action he remembered why he even attempted to strike with his sword in the first place, "Unfortunately even if I could deal extra damage, it wouldn't be anywhere close to what we need to keep the momentum. With Death_Adder recovering we need to switch to maximizing damage."

Giving a small sigh he swiped on his menu, pulling down his battle ready items. In a flash of light his massive shield vanished before he swung his sword to the side, also vanishing before being replaced by the Grand Gauntlets III, which enveloped his forearms. Smashing his fists together Calrex lowered himself into his <<Martial Arts>> stance.

With the equipment switch he could feel his body become lighter and vision become sharper, indicating that his Accuracy and Evasion stats had gained a boost, "Guess it's about time I added some damage too..."

Seiichi had not even bothered to turn his head to face the player who had given him some energy out of his own reserves to keep the swordsman fighting. He merely grinned, his brows furrowing as he glared across at Tesseleth with pale blue eyes. "I'm not done yet." he said with a chuckle. He could have sword he felt the eyes of the other two in his party on him for a moment, causing Seiichi to sneer. His fingers curled around the handles of the blades of Michael and Lucifer, gripping onto the swords as he prepared his next attack. It was not until then that the man had noticed that his energy was still too low to release the Eclipse sword art yet again. "Damn.." he said to himself under his breath, deciding on another attack instead. "No matter.. I'll still make quick work of this."

Both of his blades took on a similar blue aura as he prepped his Blackhowling Assault sword art. Letting the the tips of the swords falling to the floor, Seiichi took off running towards the boss, sparks kicking up in each direction from the metal scraping against the stone floor. The man wore a toothy smirk on his face the entire approach to the monstrous dragon. Once in range, Seiichi planted his foot into the ground before delivering his attack at the boss' neck.

As the Blade of Michael collided with the rough scales of Tesseleth, the object quickly flashed red, and then white before shattering in his hands. Similarly, the Blade of Lucifer met the same fate, each weapon's durability giving out before the attack could even commence. Seiichi's blue eyes went wide, "W-What!?" he shouted to himself, staring at his now empty hands. "Dammit." he cursed through grit teeth, before quickly moving back to create some distance between himself and Tesseleth.

OOC: Forgot to incorporate Thorns damage for most of the fight. HP has been edited to reflect Thorns damage

Tesseleth felt the blades of the dual wielding player smack against his scales, yet no pain followed, only the sound of shattering glass that filled the entirety of the cavern. Everything seemed to go silent, save for the pieces of the blades of Michael and Lucifer crashing into the floor. Another one of their strongest fighters, rendered useless because of their careless antics to not check on the durability of their weapons. Tesseleth mocked the players, raising its head up towards the high ceiling of the cavern, breathing out a blast of fire that lit up the cavern for a moment as the embers rained to the stone floor.

Once the Tyrant's gaze had returned to the players, he noticed the Ultramarine Knight had changed his equipment, one that seemed a bit more suitable for attacking the dragon. Despite wanting to make the one known as Death Adder suffer for all the pain it had caused Tesseleth thus far, the blunette still drew his attention more than the rest. Taking its large claw, the dragon swiped at the man, slashing away a bit more of his health. Despite lowering the strength of his armor, he still managed to mitigate most of the damage, angering Tesseleth even more so.

=>75% - HP 9,000 - Frees 1 Knight
=>50% - HP +6,000 - Frees 2 Knights
=>25% - HP 3,000 - Frees 3 Knights

Dragon Knight Abilities:

Cross Slash : CD 1-5,  the Knight uses the Cross Slash sword art, and deals 300 damage against the main target.
