[F1 Artisan R1] Cheap Chips

Recommended Posts

Down the shopping district of the Town of Beginnings, a small wooden workshop can be seen by the right side of the pathway. The workshop's entrance is just under a wooden roof, making some shade for anybody waiting outside. Once entering the workshop, it looks just as any workshop does. There's plenty of tools laying around, although of all of them, the only misplaced ones left on the bench constantly rather than in their proper places are a hammer and a chisel. Entering usually gets the attention of the bluehead, who'll appear from the back of the shop, where he makes the blueprints for his crafts, giving the customer an awkward look.

He doesn't seem too enthusiastic to be socialising usually, if ever, and proceeds to welcome whoever's there in a very unenthusiastic and plain voice. "Welcome to Cheap Chips. Give me materials, I'll make a trinket.", he blurts out as a welcome, before following it up with: "So?"

With his first perfect craft having been finished, the boy picked up the bracelet he made and looked at it with a smile. "Finally... I already feel more confident.", he mumbled before opening up his menu and seeing it disappear from his grip, only to appear on the list of items. He then equipped it in place of his Warm Earmuffs, knowing that they wouldn't do him any good inside of the safe confines of his shop. "I feel like I could learn much faster with this on me... I can always have it as a good reference for what I'm doing right, and what I'm doing wrong. I'll become a damn great Artisan."

With a short pep talk to himself, he grinned and looked to the exit of his shop, knowing he was just a step closer to being able to help the frontlines that much more. And given enough time, he'd be fighting amongst them to clear the game. He just needed to train up, until then.

Vie wandered around the Town of Beginnings for the first time in a while. She planned to meet up with a friend later that afternoon and wanted something that may help her when frustrated, or perhaps locate materials for the quest. While her mind wanders, she happens upon a wooden shop she felt looked sort of irregular on the 1st floor. When entering, she was surprised to see the green cursor peeking out from the back of the store. The girl had never seen a player-owned workshop- especially in the Town of Beginnings. He gives a very unenthused monotone introduction to his shop, she supposed this was why his business didn't look too successful. Regardless, she responded with "Hello, I'd like to purchase something from you if you happen to have something similar to this," the girl spoke with dynamic as she took out a small journal, flipped to a certain page, and pointed to her simplistic illustration. "I don't see any sort of prices for custom pieces, do you have an idea what it might cost?" She asks, tilting her head a little as she closes the notepad and puts it back into her satchel.

Chase lifted his head from the counter as soon as he heard someone enter, almost reaching for his sword out of habit before remembering it was unequipped- that aside, that was no way to greet someone. Not like words would do him any better. With a dry cough, he cleared his throat and welcomed her in, silently watching her open the journal and show him one of the illustrations. With his monotone expression, he shook his head and began to head to the back of the store. "No, nothing like that. I'll need a minute or so.", he responded rather vaguely, picking up a small chisel and hammer that he had before opening his inventory.

He began to hammer down at a material that appeared on the counter not too shortly after, trying to chip away at it to get the best result possible. It wasn't long before a light blue glow took over the back of the store, and once the flash was gone, he returned to the front counter, holding it out for Vie. "... It doesn't have a name.", he told her, almost asking her to name it by the looks of it. While he waited for her to come up with something, he also added to the question she'd asked just a short while ago. "You're my first sale."
