Each combatant was beaten and torn apart, their gear reflecting the potential for output visibly upon them as both were relentless casting scattering light all about. Raidou flourishes and spins the grip of his weapon up in front of him at an angle, pulling his glasses up on his face keeping his defenses solid against this previously determined impossible to face opponent. With no ego taking hold, purely an observation of what had transpired "I believe this game may be confused, you are looking more and more possible to fell." the beast responds with a wide swipe that Raidou backlashes sliding his feet and stabilizing against the titanic blow with force equivalent from him in opposition. Raidou 1 Posted July 25, 2020 Author #22 Report Share Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) With the new hole in the armor of the creature, Raidou pushes the point into the opening, a nice size chunk of it disappears into its torso before he twists the handle and discharge of light casts steam in white from the wound causing to widen through the ignition. Winding back they were in arms reach, the red wanderer no Firm Anima's guild leader was keeping toe to toe with the thing without stepping away. Neither would retreat, the cardinal due to an A.I. that only wished it to seek a kill, and Raidou without fear was pushing himself to the limits to see just what he was capable of. The hefty strike comes cleaving down with a supercharged weapon, Raidou smacks the weapon aside with a tear of his weapon out of the King in one fluid motion and an impact like a bomb going off that was deafening. Raidou 1 Posted July 25, 2020 Author #23 Report Share Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) The attacks were unending from both parties but it seemed as the King was being outmatched in finesse and although its attacks held gravity on Raidou's he could find no way to get them to connect often enough. He would hate to admit but he was rather envious of its health pool and stamina though, it was formidable in its own right. His arm was growing tired as his body was fatiguing but holding strong despite the fact. Exchanging another attack through the creature's defenses as it swarms around him like a wasp, constantly fading in and out of tangency forcing Raidou to defend at all angles it was pushing his limits and he kept his mind latched to his sight. Appearing behind him, it was as if Raidou could feel him and ripping the blade overhead as he leans back the glimmers dance only inches from his face with the connection. Raidou 1 Posted July 25, 2020 Author #24 Report Share Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) It was surprising on the strength of the solarite blade in his hands, reminding him of the weapon he had used in defense of ATP and how it broke under swings much weaker than the ones the king was now producing it seemed that his appendage would give out long before the integrity of the Auric Sol would. He took a quick glance at his stamina and it was rather low, glad he brought a couple of solutions to the problem. The King's health in response was moving from orange to red, he was making headwind against the overwhelming boss slowly chipping its armor away with every slice of power causing it to scatter in shards of data. Despite his outward appearance, the vanguard captain was relatively unscathed as his battle healing and everything he was taught was sustaining him seemingly indefinitely through everything that this towering behemoth could produce. He pushes back and rips the blade over his head as he shifts, causing the discharge to scatter in strands throwing his body into convulsions and bringing him to his knees as they fade into scorched black. Blinking above him and spinning the weapon down as it looms over the red wanderer with its weapon ignited by the same, fueled by the storm as the entity that was controlling it. Raidou drops and rolls low stealing its compromise, the coup de gras slamming into the dormant mist instead of his back. Landing on his feet, and sliding himself back to neutral to a gruesome battle that was taking its toll on the both as soldiers in Aincrad. A sharp exhale from the force alone robbing him of feeling and causing his HUD to flicker and split for a moment from interference, Raidou feels through sense alone it appears behind him and ripping himself in a pivot rebukes its follow up and shreds away its HP as repayment for its attack. "New tricks this late in the game." Raidou remarks looking to its digital readout and coining it to the fact that it was now in the red and becoming more and more desperate to succeed the confrontation as the cardinal was forcing its hands. Another spear of light tossed from a raised hand Raidou attempts to parry it off, but the speed is far too great for him to make a connection and it slams into his right shoulder causing him to drop the blade. "You have no chance, the game has ended for you!" Raidou hears ring through his ears like a primal being, as he scatters for his weapon in a tumble. Ripping it above him while an earthquake esque slam punches him into the ground, to a rise of mist and an unintentional cough. Raidou pushes back his iris ablaze and red fumes bleeding from his weapon. "Hardly, you haven't seen anything yet." Raidou barks out with his voice altering slightly as a black tendril rips out of the confines of his armor and grabs the boss's leg ripping it from its footing and slamming it face first into the surface beside him. The boss kneels for a moment as if the damage it had sustained was enough to wind it, Raidou smirks as the blackened thickness on the right half of his face fades keeping himself in check and calmed. He twists his neck and performs a single rotation of the Auric Sol, a flare of yellow he takes his aegis up as the boss was finally a moment to analyze him. It was under duress, he was pushing back harder than it expected and was weighing its options the same the tactician was throughout the duration of the battle. Lifting his left hand, he turns his hand over and lifts his fingers in a flutter toward his palm. "Bring it." he shouts matching the boss's presence with his own as his hatred seemed to corrupt the white mist around him. Raidou activates Parry! His fury was present on the thickened blackish red that was produced around his frame but tempered and sharpened in his glare. A sudden sonic boom of the King toward the swordsman he pivots and slides "Grand mass parry!" in a twirl of his robe as a call to the swordsman he once was, who he was striving to be once more. His blade amplifies and instead of a direct connection with the Forgotten Time King, it connects with his arms and the weapon itself, causing it to scatter to the ground and slide. His weapon still alight with his fueled energy, he waves it and exhales and corrects himself tapping the edge with his heel as he would the black star. Twisting the grip of the solarite blade in his grasp he cleaves horizontally down the birth of the beast. It draws sunlight down its entire front that reciprocates the damage further digging into its health pool and its armor becoming less and less concealing of the softer places underneath it. The boss seems to screech, finally sustaining actual damage from Firm Anima's guild master instead of a glancing blow. In rebuttal, he pulls the glaive with both arms and tears it down hard, Raidou shifts and slams his own weapon against the descending point and knocks its trajectory off course. "Your rage controls you." he comments as the red in his eyes was ever present "Where I control mine." with his aura threatening to consume them both. Always these things had tricks and needed them it seemed, Raidou was becoming rather aware of the fact. "Are you afraid?" he mutters in his thick red mist, with his available stamina skipping to up a portion as a result of the consumable from the guilds cook doing its part. Spinning the blade up and switching from defense to an offensive posture, the weapon activates as his newfound energy begins to pour in and coat the blade in sunlight getting ready to drop his steel through the target again now that he could. He pushed through the exhaustion and drew another burning trail across the king's torso as he teleports to the vanguard captain's side, cutting another portion of its health away with one line of magnitude in yellow. "Just give in, I thought you unkillable but to my surprise, you're very mortal." the king takes the observation less with understanding and only fury casting bolts of energy at the swordsman who knocks off course with spins of his steel, becoming used to the numbing from the shock to his system and fighting through the jerk that follows suit. The weather shifts and darkens as the king begins to charge it with its wrath having had enough, causing a scattering of lines to bounce around the clouds overhead. The King was distracted in its own right as if they were amplifying themselves for one final round of combat, he lifts its massive arms and the storm above them continues to peel up the more and more atmospheric current as the bolts gain more girth. Two outstretched palms to the sky, the King had one more trick and the guild leader knew something was amiss. Kneeling low he would attempt to halt its progress and slay it before he had an opportunity to release whatever it was he was producing. The Auric Sol washes with a blinding light, fueled with the player's intentions the cardinal assist system becoming primed to follow his command and lay on thick the assault that would come in the next moments. What remains is Raidou finishing the art and the king although visibly damaged lines and scars in red seemed unaltered and continuing to force his controlled weapon of static to swell above them both. "Whatever this game is, I will not let you complete it." the vanguard barks to the large room, and as a result twists his steel in his hand causing it to pulse powerfully with the light it took once more, pushing more of himself into it and closer to the edge of his breath being his drive the thing sustaining him through the will to succeed alone. As before the boss forms a fist with its raised appendage and ushers his arms to both sides before lowering them. A sudden and rather instant column five feet in diameter punches the earth where Raidou stood, like a bullet, it clashes with Raidou's steel and casts sparks as it scorches his shoulders and neck drawing into his manifested frame. He watches his HP take the hit, managing to reduce the power of whatever it was. Lifting its arms again, it become painfully clear that it was not over and Raidou struggles to lift his arms, fighting against his own debilitation and the twitching in his body. Raidou thought while using the weapon to shove its point into the creature's breast, his goal to stop the attack the King was going to recur before it could but the damage does not seem to be adequate enough to reach the goal of halting its charging cannon. From above as the Forgotten Time King shifts its empty hands again like a conductor, another fired round from its unceasing barrage catches Raidou as he attempts to lift his sword in defense, slamming into his back and shoulders and knocking him to the floor. His scream was partial pain and partial fury as he is removed from his feet, his HP plummeting in one rapid burst lower than it had throughout the length of this war between him and this titan that was seeming without contest. The king continued to conduct and force the storm to fight for him, he needed no weapon to kill this kid. Shifting his appendage about and getting another spire of lighting to slam down upon the swordsman's shoulders, it knocks him back into the ground with the exertion of power. Raidou's vision dims for a second as he is buried under the electricity, while the King seemed unaltered entirely by his advances and unconvinced he even had a chance to succeed. Raidou 1 Posted July 25, 2020 Author #39 Report Share Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) Raidou heals 71 HP via BH The king fades as Raidou struggles to stand, positioning itself over its glaive and bending to pick it up as another harrowing form of laughter rocks the confines of Raidou's thoughts. The vanguard captain uses his sword to pick himself up, fighting through the removed numbness and his own electrically charged skin. What follows is the King teleporting into a broad stroke of titanic power, slamming into Raidou's blade who uses the weight of his entire frame to push back the flat of the blade pressed against his left shoulder like a metal bar. The attack knocks Raidou from his feet, not solid stature making it weak causing him to scatter to the wind and his body goes through a large statue that graced the chamber. Pulling himself out of the wreckage, and ripping his glasses off his face not wanting to lose another pair he kneels low as his weapon lights ablaze. Raidou 1 Posted July 25, 2020 Author #40 Report Share Posted July 25, 2020 Raidou heals 71 HP via BH With the boss’s health dwindling Raidou prepares to take the final swing, fighting valiantly and pushing himself to empty and the Forgotten Time King was visibly showing weakness. A charge of Auric Sol shows his intention in vibrant light, the cardinal system activating as a result, a crack like thunder tears him forward. A god-like voice rings through his head “Cute and good effort, but alone…” it repositions bending the fabric of the manufactured reality, lifting the glaive causing the polearm to puncture his torso causing his HP to plummet into the red. “You are nothing.” As his consciousness begins to fade, the system recognizing he was dying he hears a familiar voice at his back “Kiluia, I found him but we must move quickly.” unsheathing her katana and a trail of cyan blue lashes against the boss causing it to recoil, but the blade remains planted. Setsuna barks “If you won’t release him I will make you.” ripping her mask onto her face as more members of the guild pour into the chamber, vanishing into her mist with its own. Sliding in behind the silver haired girl was Kiluia: “Our goal is extraction, Ops! Let the assault team handle the brunt of the attacks” He watched his dear friend’s bar deplete. They needed to exit the room without the aggro to properly treat Raidou. His attention returned to Haine who came to their aid for the initial rescue. Any openings would be filled by the captain of ops to assist in the subjugation of the king. Haine surveyed the battlefield. It looked tense, but the group pulled it together in tandem. She stabbed her glaive into the soil with a flourish and called out. "Alright, Assault! Keep ugly away from his weapon at all costs!" She scrunched her nose at the self proclaimed king and charged her glaive. She closed her eyes and inhaled, concentrating the energy on the tip. Fiery eyes shot open and she pivoted on her heel, gaining momentum to vault over her glaive. She landed on top of the enemy and drove the spear into its jugular. "How's that, your royal hiney?" Her lips curved into an impish smirk as she withdrew the glaive. Following Haine’s lead with a smile, he liked this captain’s moxie “I suppose, I can’t let you kick the bucket till I finally kick your ass.” Gaius barks toward Raidou still stuck on the polearm, using his glaive to vault upward and dropping directly onto the king in a reckless mounting. Gaius spins the glaive over his head before jamming it into the boss’s collarbone. “Hey fuck face, get bent” he shoved it deeper and deeper with everything he had. Megitsune was right behind her damage partner, Gaius. Her scythe was collecting dust up to this point, but it was this sort of thing that really got the rust off her blade more than this. “Oi, stupid, I told you to believe in yourself, but that doesn’t mean you can go out and kill yourself.” Fox complains to Raidou as she passes by. Her muffled voice behind her mask could barely be heard over all the commotion of the guild’s approach. Once she had said her part, she joined the Assault team upfront to repel the boss while everyone else helped Raidou to his feet again. “That damned fool, always the showoff. I suppose I have to keep you on top of it, you idiot.” Simmoné remarks rubbing her fingers together and tossing a glimmering coil through the air that implants itself into his chest, with a golden glow it overcharges Gaius’s stamina “Give him hell, it’s the least you can do.” Speeding past Simmone with a smirk to Raidou as the others surround and confirm his safety. “You can’t die. You need to add more to my book.” Making haste toward the damage dealer, she joins the fray and starts laying into the large creature like her life and everyone else's was on the line. Kasumi and Setsuna drop down to Kiluia’s whistle and word, on his flanks and between 3 sets of hands rip the long glaive out his chest. “Right, it will be ok Raidou.” and a normally cold demeanor from Setsuna was shaken “You have things to do, Don’t die so pathetically.” with the weapon removed. The girls look to Kiluia, then to the king with a glare but waiting for his orders with a bit of remorse feeling slightly responsible. Kiluia nods to them both and with a lift of his hand, it closes into a fist as both girls vanish before he leans low and his hand engulfs with energy like fire. Dropping down into visibility with a fade in from her mists, Setsuna draws her blade out but an inch as Katoka does the same as a mirror on the creature's opposing side. Seeing the girl she nods, in a blink of an eye they trade places with their backs toward the king before a burst of lights cleave off portions of its remaining armor with them both sheathing the blades. “We can’t let you die yet Raidou, you still owe me a new katana!” Katoka grins while leaping back out of the King’s range. With a smirk, Setsuna waits for another opportunity to strike, fading back into concealment. The vanguard's shuffle in, charing down as the king produces a bolt of lightning outraged that his prey was being removed and his deliberate alteration of the outcome was being robbed from him, and tossing it toward the members of O&I attempting to extract the nomad in red, Griswold stampedes in and lifts a heavy wall causing it to bounce off of its surface. The winds stir and pulse as the storm above them as Eruda joins his side. A scattering of energy bounces overhead in the clouds. “Eruda, a phalanx” Connecting the shields as if they were one, blocking the orbital beam of lightning coming down from the skies and sun alike, that threatens the life of Raidou, standing together like it should have been all along. Looking down to Raidou as she counters the damage that seems to be aiming at Raidou alone. “You will never be alone as long as Firm Anima exists. We are much stronger together so let's not die tonight okay! We will always be one call away Raidou.” Eruda is pushed back ever so slightly but both her and Griswold hold strong. “Get him back up and let's finish this together.” Eruda calls out to the entire guild with a strong voice that connects with all around them. Scattering in behind the members of assault and O&I who were holding back the King’s fury, the tiny songstress approaches the boy in red as he is dragged from the chamber. “Woof this looks bad, it’s K book boi. I’ve gotcha.” Shiina rubs her hands together feverishly charging Field medic on her hands in emerald green after the blade is removed. The small redhead kneels down in a similar manner next to the red-clad male, together the two prop him up to some degree as they tend to him. As the darker haired female begins administering a green glow that would treat his wounds, Vie provides additional support- making sure that covering the gash to prevent infectants would be quick and efficient by unraveling the self-adhesive elastic bandage and cutting it to a decent length. With what little field medic skills she had, Hisa hoped that her real life knowledge would have some merit when it comes to treating wounds in the game and tried to aid Vie’s efforts. She took her coat off and used it to support Raidou’s head before getting more bandages and a numbing herbal mixture out of her bag, applying it to the wounds to ease the pain. While checking for additional injuries and in an effort to ease the tension a tiny bit, she said “By the way Raidou, we haven’t met before, I’m Hisa. Don’t worry, we’ll take care of you, letting you die on our first meeting would be kinda rude of me after all.” together worked heavily and offered words of encouragement. “You’ll be well in no time!” the girl spoke with confidence seeped words. With the mixture applied and his wounds properly dressed, Vie gently wraps the bandage around his torso taking extra precaution to not over compress the injury to prevent any undesirable side effects. Shiina looks at Vie and Hisa with a flash of a grin, popping her hands onto him and a sudden pulse of energy shocks his system like a defibrillator “Nice patch job dudes. RISE MY CREATION IT’s ALIVE!” as his HP suddenly skyrockets and stabilizes, as before when he was removed from consciousness he snaps awake and writhes, looking into the chamber he had been pulled from as Firm Anima as a whole was tearing the king limb from limb in scattering lines of color. His own battle healing takes control, the three had jump started his emergency recovery. A blurred shadow skirted the edge of the battle as Firm Anima’s strength unfurled around its vanguard captain. Beneath their relentless rain of steel and fury, the beaten king faltered and stumbled, and then the shadow blazed alight with holy light, a crisp white blade aflame with the holy menace that called upon the heavens’ chorus in rising angel song as it streaked from the darkness into light. It was borne by a wielder in black, his face obscured beneath a heavy cowl. Behind him trailed white motes resembling angel wings in his wake as he struck low and hard across the villain’s vulnerable vitals and clove the glaive that had struck their leader clean in twain denying Cardinal’s cheat and confirming Raidou’s well-fought victory. The white blade held steady, horizontal, and laid bare between the fallen king and his conqueror. Forgiven Disobedience lived up to its name once more. Freyd’s covered face turned toward his comrade as the luminal cloud of his weapon’s holy aura caught up and washed over all of those now gathered. He simply nodded and whispered to acknowledge Raidou’s amazing accomplishment: “Well done.” Crippled, Raidou ushers into the chamber as the boss was dropping by the second, using his sword as a crutch before he shouts with a stir of his red fog growing thick with a fury with direction. “Unlike you, I am not alone, and I was foolish for forgetting the fact. Tell Kaiba when you see him in hell. We are Firm Anima.” as the boss fades into fragments that glisten on the wind.
