[F1-PP] Getting a damn storage (Earning a Living)

Recommended Posts

A wander through being bogged down by the excessive amount of crap that kept cluttering her, all this junk was proving to be a pain in the ass on her encumbrance. Celeste couldn't stand it, and a visit to the barkeep below her acquired slum room she asks. "You got a place I can store all of this?" She opens her inventory and begins to scroll page after page. The NPC chuckles. "Nope, looks like someone needs a store."

The red head raises a brow.

"A store, yeah that could work. Basically a crap closet. I can get behind that." And as if in response, a quest was given to her. Seems it was part of the tutorial quest chain she couldn't stand. As it would appear, it lead to a boy named Billy. "Guess that's it, don't get shanked or anything while I am gone?" The girl was referring to his rowdy patrons.

Following the nav it provided, to the quest board first as a form of confirmation of her intentions. She scrolls through and selects the one that looked the least annoying of the bunch. This one just looked like picking up a few lumps from the wilds and bringing them to some kid. But first, she'd have to go and meet with him. Outside the walls of the city, to the wilds she'd become more familiar with as of late. To a large tavern outside of the normal scope, to a back room where she meets with little Billy. One annoying development later, and it was clear he was out of what he needed to teach her. She didn't care, she just wanted a building to cram full of things.

On his behest, she begins to scour the lush green for little goofy trinkets. Exploiting Zuggtmoy in a rolling metal detector, she walked slowly and allowed it to crawl around and search for her. She was not a gatherer. It brings back a rusted old table, obviously some sort of shield "Sure that will work, go get some more crap." She ordered the familiar.

It slithers away as quick as the first time, leaving Celeste standing there with a rusted board. She follows it and finds it bubbling and worming away beneath a large rounded stone. Lifting her right foot and pushing it with her heel, she rolls it slightly. Sticking out beneath it looks like some fragmented and tarnished blade. "That's two, this shit is easy." Celeste remarks reaching down and plucking the old worn metal from the earth. A smattering of soil falls as it's removed from being forgotten for so long. The red head couldn't help but think that she'd made the right choice, she shuttered at the thought of the other quests and their difficulty. Zackariah's had been a practice in frustration. It was a nice change of pace to have this going so smoothly, after all she had been through with the previous links in the tutorial chain the last few days.

As she disturbs its resting place, a final piece lay dormant underneath it. A reach down and a solid tug, reveals a ragged looking rag. "Hope these will suffice, I don't really care what they do." Celeste remarked toward Zuggtmoy who climbs her boots into her pant legs, understanding that its owner was intending to head back into town. Through the marble streets, back into the building where Billy hid. The barkeep pays her a nod as she ushers into the back room. Billy perks up expectantly and Celeste dumps a pile of crap on his floor, dirt and all. He eyes it curiously, if he wasn't an NPC he would have surely questioned her validity and actual interest. But he smiles and begins to show her how to trigger appraisal. His eyes wash with a gold, and a prompt on her screen makes the skill available to her to use.

Celeste triggers the given skill, plucking up the first of the three, and instantly receives a readout at what it did. "Well, that's crap, I know garbage when I see it." The red head remarks toward the NPC who does not really respond to her disgust. Her eye was lit up, but due to the color, it didn't really change at all. She already had an iris of that shade. A dump of the piece onto the floor she shifts through, the shield itself had since lost its rust but even still it was not worth keeping. Wrapping her fingers around the sword, a little crackle of the sand and debris that still lingered on it connecting on the wood floor below. "One down, so I guess just these other two right?" Celeste asks Billy who nods, being less talkative than he normally was. Another trigger of the given skill, begins to analyze it as well.

A flare forces it to change shape, being restored to a usable state as appraisal triggers. Her HUD pops a few new menus, a diagnostic of its quality, its tier and its effects. "Also trash." Celeste remarks with a quick peruse of what it held in store. It wasn't that bad, but it also wasn't anything that was in demand. It could easily be reproduced by just about anyone. But out of everything this piece seemed the most likely to be the one she kept of the bunch. With that notion, it malformed into a battle axe like her own. "But fuck it, might as well." Celeste dumps it to the floor with a clatter, it could take it. To the rag, the last one left for her to deal with. Greedily Billy was eyeing everything, knowing full well that whatever she didn't choose he'd get to keep after she was done.

It flops to one side as she peels up the almost frail leather and fabric, holes throughout the lot of it to which she could see through. Celeste was not optimistic and shouldn't be. The program behind her was looking at both pieces, weighing them to coin and a free payday. As it turns out Celeste had just paid him for nothing more than free labor. But such was quests in general, an errand boy that gets rewarded pennies on the dollar. A flash of light as her eyes glow, the piece changes into a more intact black leather suit. Akin to a biker jacket, studs and all. "Someone was a fanboy." Celeste remarks eyeing it with a turn as she reads through the description on her peripheral.

"Nope I am keeping the axe, it's the best turd among a pile of turds. Give me my key." she takes a step forward and plops the coat in the boys lap. Billy picks it up and slides it on, looking like a young thug. A turn of his hand, he drops her a gold key. He offers thanks and, attempts for both other toys. Celeste rips up the axe and leaves. Her payment for the affair with interest.

Description:
A dual sided axe, a slightly tarnished greyed metal but still solid axe found somewhere on floor 1. It's heft is hard to deny, a bit unruly in its sweeps. Its hard to maintain, hard to swing but packs an enormous punch.

Palming the key and jamming it into her pocket, the whole quest had taken leagues shorter than she had thought it would. Leaving Billy to play with the other two objects she was leaving in his care, she was not attached to them. Quite a bit of time left to expend, Celeste would make good on what she had to use. A tussle and a test, but an eye about the place showed that most of what was contained here could not meet her needs and she would need to head upward. A multitude of greyed out names, meaning that everything was far too weak to give her any rewards. "Lame. But it means I am growing."

Celeste heads to Floor 13

Landing in Angel's Point, choosing a floor that matched her level. That should do the trick. Out into a rough looking landscape, as if it had faced some unknown battle or war. Like a bullet with her axe appearing with an extension of her arms she begins.

A quick jam of the axe into a blackened looking creature, a bipedal beast that hisses as a response to her hostile action. It rakes a single outstretched claw above her extended weapon as its head is jammed into its chest. A rip clean of the axe causes the creature to dislodge with a spiral and clash with the ground beneath it. Celeste reaches up to the three lines drawn in red upon her cheek. A smile claims her lips as she rubs it, she was enjoying this little exchange already. Washed in crimson was the grim letter in steel in her hand, her motives becoming painfully clear with a high pitch whir of the weapon. A manifest of Zuggtmoy as it runs down her hands like molasses dripping. An amberish red hue it covers her gloves and becomes a second form of muscle fiber. Things were just getting started.

A spin up albeit higher, the twin headed guillotine shines brightly in a color akin to her hair. One broad stroke as a test, to see if it could defend. Zuggtmoy latches to its waist and drags it toward the tide, as she twists her upper half. The creature is pulled in to a single horizontal cleave, connecting to where a neck would be if it were human. It passes through clean, a solid thud somewhere in the distance. It's released by her familiar before it collapses to the ground. "That's no fun, thought you'd put up a bit more of a fight." Celeste barks at the carcass moments before it dissipates. A prompt of rewards confirmed it gone, and despite any hopes to make for an interesting battle, it didn't last for more than a couple of swings. Pathetic. The annoying buzz of her bar comes shortly after, to which her eyes quickly dart up and to the left. "Fuck again!?"

OOC: Energy Regen [1/3], Concentration Refreshed, +10 HP Passive Regen

"Alright!" Celeste screeches at the damn thing, trying to dismiss the alert with a wave of her hand. A look about the place showing it nothing more than scorched earth. Wandering around for a while to take in the sights while she let her annoying canary work it's way out. The place looked like some sort of old burned-out town, bringing her to question what the hell may have happened to this floor. There wasn't much here but destroyed and since reclaimed by fauna buildings. A few more of these shambling creatures ushered with no direction off in the distance. Celeste eyed them with a raise of a brow, as they began to paint a more mystique filled picture of what they may have been at one time. A shrug and that notion placed into a folder to ask someone about later, if she could remember. Right now she was killing time to just let that bird die.

A draw of her weapon just a check, and again that little buzzer begins to ring. She sighs sharply, dropping the axe at her feet and picking a place to place her ass. "Guess I'll do nothing then!" She barks out in anger, flopping to the ground and staring into the dimly opaque grey sky. A slight tinge of clouds overhead, slightly see through. The girl noticed that although there was light, this floor seemed to be absent of a sun. Curious at what kind of quests would be in this place. Celeste thought back to the settlement she jumped into and quickly left behind. "The Underdark." The girl mutters beneath her breath, recalling the name. "Seems fitting given how edgy this place looks." A bunch of dead trees, destroyed buildings, and creepy looking specter looking mother fuckers wandering around the place made it look like a tomb. It was cool but maybe a bit extreme.

She milled about the thought, curious what she'd end up finding if she were to continue traversing the floor. But that was outside the plan she was following, although loose and unrefined it did have steps and this was hardly one of them. First thing was to wash her hands of all these damn tutorial quests, and what was next on the platter was some cakewalk on the floor whatever with a minotaur. Celeste would have to recheck that slip of paper again, she'd forgotten which particular floor it was. A ring of her HUD draws her attention away from the dive into her thoughts, this tiny enforced break was over. A reach for her axe at her side, she springs to her feet and is instantly fueled with excitement again. "Now where was I?" Celeste offered the rhetorical question, looking at that group of spooky boys and sizing a head to claim.

Like a bullet the girl tears ass toward the pack, who routinely scatter, and the one she connects with flails about as it rockets away. It skips at first as it connects with the ground, like a flat stone upon a body of water. A crash and a slide it lays in the hole made by the blow, seemingly concussed by the slash provided. Celeste rips it across her left side, a slight swivel above her head as she docks it on her right. The creature spins in a sporadic jerk and twist of its frame as a response to the damage taken. It glares at her on all fours and lets out a shriek in disgust. It was instantly clear that it did not appreciate it, but Celeste hardly cared. Her weapon glowed in crimson, bleeding a tinge of its color in strings that twist off of its head.

It rushes toward her like a feral hound, heavy panting each time its appendage connect beneath it. Springing into a sinister hiss, causes a few coils in crimson to spring from Celeste's back. She upheaves connecting with the creature from below. She pivots on her heel dragging with it the opponent. Slamming both it and the cleaver's head on the opposing side, digging its wedged blade through its torso and pinning it down. "Nice try." Celeste remarks driving her heel against its throat holding it still. Its clawed fingers latch to her boot and try to peel it free. Clutching to the foot on its throat, its legs kicking in defiance. She purses her lips and offers a dismissing tsk. "It's no use, right where I want you." The axes head beginning to whir in excitement, a new sword art charging down the area it held. One more swipe and it would be over.

Concentration CD [2/3]

The creature beneath her boot begins to struggle, fighting back with every fiber of its being against what was coming next. Celeste was about to end it, but something about this was satisfying. The girl allowed it frivolous attempts at breaking loose, it was sweet to the palette. The way it wormed and jerked raking claws against the black leather pressed heavily against its neck. There was something so enjoyable about completely overpowering something that was at her level, she wished to savor it. The axe in her grasp simply held that color still embedded in its chest, making the wound it had made almost invisible in the light it cast. A slight bend of her abdomen causes her hair to pool down in front of her face. A slight smile as shadows claims the top half of her face. Staring into the creatures ever fleeting hope was a delight she'd not waste.

Concentration Refreshed!

It outcries in a hallow screech, unable to find a purchase to remove her heel. Celeste presses down with a little more force, ripping clean her cleaver in a spray as its docked behind her left shoulder. She allows the head to drop near her left foot, leaning just a bit closer. It falls silent as it finds her eyes in amber glaring down at it. It ushers as far as it could toward her, letting its resistance fall and taking swipes toward her face. "What's the matter, don't think you can get me off?" Celeste goads it, turning her foot a bit to a crunch. This doesn't deter it, however, and each swing of its sharpened hands comes just that much closer. Close enough that the swipes pass through her dangling red hair. But it finds no real skin, its efforts fruitless and wouldn't be. Celeste places her right hand on the pommel of her axe. That smile continues.

A lunge backward and a drop of that fully charged headsman clips the thing right where she stood, drawing a red line through it entirely into the ground below. It rolls for a bit before disappearing, a smile on her face as she rips it clean with a jerk. "I don't think you were ever man enough. Don't leave a man to do a woman's job." She spoke to the destroyed hole, a flood of gains filling the left corner of her screen. A few steps toward the Underdark, she was done here. Celeste was convinced that nothing here would prove too difficult to take down, but she knew with that last kill that she'd be out of juice. Such was the trials of a leveling player, fighting against a damn gauge that never seemed full enough to fight with. But she got what she wanted from this place, confirmation of growing strength.

A pause as she traveled toward the primary settlement, her goal being the gate to travel back down and dump all this shit into the place provided. A glimmer off her peripheral, to which she seeks out. Laying there in the rough, surrounded by a multitude of destroyed buildings and crap was that tiny sparkle. Leaning down and shifting some covering rock from it Celeste finds but a single sapphire. "Cheers." Celeste quips leaning down and plucking it from the floor, shoving it into her pockets before moving on. Hell if the place just wanted to pay her for a walk she'd take it, especially moments before she got the hell out of here. It had to be worth something, the girl thought as she journeyed toward the gates that composed the elvish city, taking one last look out into the wastes. The place was surely an enigma, but not one she'd get hung up on.

Her gaze finds nothing of intrigue, nothing more than a barren pile of garbage strewn all over the place. This close to the wall, not even those little shadow looking caricatures were visible. A shrug as she passes by the two guardsmen that held the gate up, it rolls as she enters then proceeds to slam behind her. Past a few prying eyes that she bumps into as a show of intimidation, they were in her way and damn all if that wasn't annoying. A hop to the warp pad she eyes all the elves just doing elvy things. "Floor 1, Town of beginnings. Time to set up this fu-" As it triggers her sentence is cut off halfway through being spoken, the other half surely completed at her destination, The story would come later. After she dumped a mountain of shit into a building that could hopefully contain it all.
