[F22-PP] In Our Own Backyard (King of Lakes)

Another day, it was early and Eruda wanted to get a jump start on the day. She had picked a few quest out to do and this one that she chose was just meters from the guild hall. It was clearly a problem like the witch was and she needed to deal with it. Eruda makes her way to the quest board closest to her in the town about a mile off from where she frequented most of her time. Grabbing the quest, she opens the guild chat:

Anyone who is awake at this hour meet me at the guild hall. A quest has been taken, come prepared. It will be a fight.

With a chime of her HUD the message was sent. She makes her way back to the guild hall to wait for a response. Opening the door to let Raserei out she jumps around in excitement. It was clear that she was full grown but she still had the mind of a puppy. It was refreshing... Eruda gets to one knee and starts roughly petting her while she wait for her mates to gain their baring enough to get over here.

Sliding down the trunk of a large cherry blossom tree with ease, her feet tap into a patch of grass with a soft rustle. A gentle breeze carries with it a fragrance from the same structures, grown and sat in. It had a way of lingering with her own self induced perfumes and keeping them strong. It was before her typical routine of mapping some of the floors out, but Kasumi was sure that along with the others they could make a short work of whatever Eruda had on her mind. Sliding off of her wrists were thin strands of fabric, to which she slides them and it is revealed a row of scripture in kanji down its length. The decree begins to wind around splayed open fingers, binding the words to her skin. Once anchored, her gaze advances toward the forest of memories. Kneeling low and a lunge at quite a speed sees her disappear in a flash of pink light.

Coffee in hand, meal made for the man. The day was early and Freya couldn't find peace in sleeping this night. This thing behind the scenes in the back of her head has play a part in her movements throughout her time here for way too long now. Simmone had a huge reaction to the thing that popped from her and she was unsure why it bothered her so much right now. Today was the day that the questions where going to come out and she needed to speak with Simmone so that maybe she could ease her mind from this even just for a moment. Eruda had sent a message in guild chat. Freya sends a message herself to Simmone saying that she really needed to talk to her and that she was going with Eruda today on the quest. Today was going to be rough for Freya, she could just tell... Freya heads out to meet the group that would be showing hoping that Simmone would tag along today.

Simmone still eyeing the clipboard in the pink haired NPC's hand, as she held it up and showed the transactions for the day. A notification causes her attentions to turn, opening it up and noting the author. Eruda. "That is perfect Moro, thank you. Keep an eye on the place for me dear?" She quips toward the child, who nods and yelps "Aye, Mistress!" before rushing off into the entry. Slinking out of her chair and slipping behind a curtain to change from her dress. Back out in a black and slim piece of leather, accenting all the right places on her frame. She kneels and lifts the same rapier from the floor. For the first time, she slides over to a glass case on the far right corner. Drawing a finger down its length, inside lay a rapier in a paled bluish silver. "Soon, just a little more. And then I can use you." She spoke to the item as if it could hear her.

Raserei gets really hyper with Eruda's rough petting. Knocking Eruda off her knees to her butt now she starts licking her face. "Okay, okay, I love you too," she says, trying to mover her face enough to not get the licks. Eruda pushes her off and at first Raserei thought she was in trouble, but then Eruda throws herself on Raserei "Gotcha ya," she says with a chuckle. Her tail starts to wag as Eruda pulls her into a hug now. Eruda was having fun. She had never had a pet to play with and she was enjoying every piece of time she got to spend with her wolf. Battle or play, they were a great team. The warp gate starts to activate and Raserei perks up with a small defensive growl. Eruda looks to the gate and holds Raserei by the scruff of the neck making sure didn't break the boundaries of a complete stranger.

Within moments, Kasumi found herself in the center of Coral. Where this quest was to begin, finding Eruda waiting patiently for everyone to arrive. "Hello Eruda." Kasumi beckons to her dear long time friend with a smile, waiting for an invite from her. "I came to assist you." The girl offers, looking down toward the wolf and gesturing her inventory open with a slide. Producing two long ribbons of white material and beginning to encase her open and splayed hands with them in rotating circles. "Who else is coming?" She asks of the tank, unsure of the accomplices to this little journey were to be. The motive on quest still remained a mystery as well, and more and more Kasumi was starting to sound like an agent of O&I. A sharp incline toward information and being prepared, they were the ears of the guild so it was always standard for them to try and hear as much as possible.

Carrying Ko in her arms as she had fallen asleep in them. At the moment of leaving though she really wanted to come and she wasn't going to argue. Stepping through the warp gate, she could feel a shift in her cells before landing back to solid ground. Seeing Kasumi and Eruda, nice. Seeing Raserei's ears perk up, she obviously saw Ko right then. Giving Ko a small cuddly head butt, she wakes. Her attentions shift to the other animal as she wiggles out of Freya's grasp, hopping to the ground. They sniff each other right before Ko hops on her. Freya shakes her head and walks to the group. "So what is going on today," she asks as she stands next to Kasumi watching her twist her wraps on her hands. It seemed like second nature to the girl. Wondering if it came from something in her past or if it was something that she picked up in the game.

The final to land, having left the odyssey behind in a flash. The thought of being able to finally use that rapier still ripe in her mind. "I am all ears." Simmone chimes in at Freya's divining request of what was the focus for the day. Unlike the others Simmone sort of went with the flow, choosing to leave the planning to them. Her planning was best served elsewhere, like guild acquisition and vault organization. Most of the shelving process however was handled by the twins, as was material purchase and delivery. The black cats glance shifts straight to Eruda, as all attentions from all the players present swap to her. She was the one most likely to have done the digging necessary on what it was this quest would entail. The question would be answered with a truth, Simmone was more than sure that Eruda had done her research into Raidou's notes.

Seeing the entire group she gets up and dusts the dirt from her behind. Sending a party invite and a quest share to everyone present she starts to speak. "King of Lakes, find the bait, catch the bait, then fish up the very large fish. The bait is a red salamander, so keep an eye out on the ground when we get into position. This quest is a bit harder than the last few that we have done so just keep focused and put it down quickly." Eruda looks to each member while saying this with a very serious look on her face. From what she had read in the notes, it was going to be a battle. Eruda was very confident though that they could do this. She turns as starts to walk out the gate. When the large green circle appears on the map she starts to glance around for the red lizard. Keeping her eyes pealed to the ground now she sees a quick red line b-line it toward the bushes. "Found the bait. Help me catch it..." she says, pointing at the bushes that it ran into.

As soon as Eruda gestures toward the brush, Kasumi walks out with it wiggling in her hand. "I got it, it kind of ran into my lap." She chuckles with a sudden jerk making it stop struggling. It was a mercy the sudden jab she paid the thing, instead of leaving it to suffer as they traveled back. Passing the red lizard to Simmone as she reaches a hand out to claim it from the girl. It wasn't too awful difficult so far, but the true question would be in the tasks to come. This quest had quite a number of segments that they would have to undertake before they were finished. Kasumi was the first to begin the trip back down. She wanted to get into position before they would start fishing. If they could get it out of the waves then she'd lay into it with everything she had.

Down on the docks after a momentary passage back down the mountain, a silence throughout the trek for they all had an idea at what they needed to do. Each player understand their goals and motives. Simmone presents the bait to the gentleman sitting there and is offered a line. He begins to break the bait up into four squares, handing one to each player after attached to a pole. A glance with a tilt of her head. "I suppose, I am not much of a fisherman." Tossing the line into the water, it bobs slowly with the waves as they push upon the shore. Nothing, no bite or even a nibble. Oh this sure was the best, being bored out of her mine watching a tiny red and white bobble wiggle on the surface. How Sam actually had this as a skill was beyond the black cat. She'd more rather wish to do anything else.

Freya raises a brow for a second before saying "Here let me have a go at it..." She was not much of a fisher either but she was a chef. Maybe she would have better luck. Simmone hands her the pole and she reals the line back in. Rearing it back she casts the line back into the lake. Moment later, a bite... A huge bite as Freya fights back on the line. She could feel arms wrap around her frame. A strength that was not only hers pulls the large fish out from the waters. Simmone holds the pole with her but it didn't even seem like she was pulling. The last bit of strength as she sees Kasumi grab the other side of the pole as it became much easier with the entire group pitching in. One large pull between the group, the large fish flies upward out of the water as the group catches their footing and moves out of the way. It lands on the ground where they were and Freya in an instant takes out her scythe and charges right at the beast. She was going to make sure she helped put it down quickly. No risks... She thinks to herself as the large creature rears up in anger. Slashing straight through the lining of its stomach. Freya jumps back as the creature lands back to the ground...

A huge arc from Freya cutting deep right as the beast is drug ashore by the lot of them, Kasumi offers a momentary blink of pink. Appearing with a different shade of sword art, a black apparel clad to her frame. The girl rockets forward and lands a single airborne blade of her heel, connecting and falling. Then stemmed to bone crunching open palms and you can hear the fish get winded from the blows. It flails a bit and the tremors force the girl to spring back in two quick hops. There was a finesse to her cartwheeling and movements, as if gravity held no effect on her. "Not quite over." Kasumi responds to the group with her hands triggering in that same violet energy, before disappearing in a blink to the same hue. A small parading set of light purple petals, that drift gracefully from where she ceased to exist.

A twist of her head as the fish was being beat to hell already, the thing had already lost quite a number of its HP already. Being cut down by over half in a matter of seconds. "Well done, this is bound to be over in an instant." Simmone responds as Kasumi jumps out of view. A lift of her right hand and a snap of her finger and thumb, sends a spiral of gold from the extension. A dna strand like helix seeks down Freya, finding a spot in her back to disappear into like a droplet in a body of calm water. It causes Freya to glow for a moment, and as Simmone would raise her hand the light fades in a sudden dispersal. They were now tethered, and Freya was using Simmone's energy to act. "Now dear, give it hell." Simmone's eyes flourish into an intensity, drawing her rapier from her hip and presenting arms against their opponent. This battlefield was the only thing holding her back, and with some motivation she'd finally start swinging.

An outcry that sounds like a war cry as Raserei gives a very loud howl. Blue flames light beneath their feet and sizzle for a second before a burst of flames projects from her frame causing the boat that was by the shore to catch on fire. She would need to help fix that later as her eyes shift to the beast. It turns rapidly and just stares in her direction. "That's right, only me..." as she glares in his direction. It starts to walk in her direction, Eruda puts her shield up covering half of her face so that she could still keep an eye on the giant thing before her. It was clear that it's focus was her now. Her blood began to boil now as the rage begins to build up. She would not let his attention leaves hers. Walking forward as she closes the distance between them rather quickly. "Eyes are on me now, Give it your all," she calls out to the group as she holds her ground.

The moment the beast turns away from Freya she rushes toward it and swings upward with a twirl. This strike though carves deep within its side this time. Freya moves away from the creature as that same impact explodes data from the wound that glows bright red. Another exposed area that could be exploited by another. From behind her she could hear the creature scream out in agony. It was on it's last limbs as Freya quickly eyes it's health bar. It was in the red. Freya grins as she rushes away knowing that she had a chance that thing could attack her now. It was very mad now as you can hear and see the creatures feet stomping on the ground. "All yours Kasumi..." Freya calls out trying to make distance between her and the thing they called a fish with legs... After creating that safe distance she turns to keep an eye to make sure it dies like it was suppose to...

A shotgun forward to attempt at the beast sees it pivot and take a swipe at her instead of Eruda, as if it was waiting for a misstep. This forces Kasumi back, a blink in dark purple shows her reappear further away. A shake of her head as she begins to move, kicking up a trail of dust as skill stasis draws away from her bar. "It's no use, I can't get close." she responds to the group, hoping that another can make due on the distraction. She had to wait out that art cooldown before she'd be able to fire again, dumping more and more of her available energy into her hands and feet as she stood by. Watching on as Simmone usher closer to the creature, the party closing in around it and blocking its ability to escape. The thing was on its last legs, and hopefully someone would finish it off before it would flee.

Hyperactive CD [1/3]

A flourish of her rapier as she moves in, drawing the blade close to the creature before recoiling it back to save herself the skill stasis. A feint, to draw the beasts attention. "Just like that, no touching." Simmone remarks as she spins around the attempt on her life, an easy dance to avoid it. A tap of her fingers upon Freya as she passes sees her energy restored. "Make your move dear, he's waiting." The cat offers coyly sliding just a bit further away from the creatures ability to make an attack on her, leading it like a horse to dry land. When it was attacking something, it was exposed. When it was attacking a person it would not run. Simmone was much more clever then she may appear to be, such was the mistress that worked the battlefield in her favor. It begins to slow as it drains more of its energy to give chase, the fat sphere of blubber couldn't keep up.

Keeping the battle out roars going to ensure that she was the only one being hit... If it did ever try to attack... The giant fish with legs was just staring at Eruda as she stared back at it just as intensely. Dead focus on both accounts. It was strange how this creature could be so focused on Eruda like this and not attack at all. Bringing her shield up a bit more, it just moves closer to Eruda. She however does not move an inch. Repositioning her footing though to get a better brace on herself when ever it decided to make a move. At the corner of her eyes she could see Freya running full speed at the creature. Eruda smirks saying "You had your chance... and now... your life ends here" as her face shift straight and the stare becomes a glare. Freya gets closer, and closer. The moment she reaches them, Eruda jumps backwards as to not be caught in the impact.

She was done toying with the slimy fish as she closes the distance fast. Seeing in the split second, Eruda jumping back, she slams into the creature knocking it onto it's side. Glancing to Kasumi in that split second with a nod and a very big opening. Freya turns back, taking her Scythe and carves it deep within the wound of which she had made earlier on its under belly. Next she knows Kasumi is right there next to her, piercing an extending hand through it's chest where it's heart would be. One would say that she punctured it's heart but without full view, no one would know. With that the creature bursts into a million tiny blue shards around them. Freya looks to Kasumi now saying softly "You did good." A small half smile toward Freya with a response of "You too," before she disappears as purple petals trail where she was. 

In agreement they all go to Freya's house to eat. She was cooking big tonight...
