[PP-PT-F5~F23] Diamond in the Rough <<Arabian Nights: First of Many>>

Hirru had been to many different floors, with many different things going on in each of them.  Players that ranged from calm peaceful creatures, to murderous psychopaths that want nothing more than the demise of everyone in Aincrad.  Floor bosses ranging from humanoids to colossal titan.  There were some things that he had not seen yet, and would love to see it all.  Hirru had seen some shit, but this seemed to top it all off.  

"Well, if Persi and yourself are good, I'm sure that we're good enough for whatever is next.  Let's head back down and find this field boss."

Freyd had taken some damage from that fight, but Hirru was watching his health and energy levels.  Freyd should be upon the fourth tier, and the small health bar boost must mean he had Battle healing.  He should be fine, especially with the damage output he has been pulling out.  The hunter, on the other hand, couldn't even kill two elite mobs which caused said damage.  He looked upon the blade that he got from a friend, the blade oozed its venom, as if calling for a new target.

Soon after passing through Kalanaes again, they would find themselves in the Underdark, which brought its darkness disability with it.  The hunter sighed.

"Never get used to this.. Don't have enough SP on Night Vision and Tracking to sort this out.."

As time passed, they would lie in wait before the rumbling of the large oaf came lumbering through their cavern.  Without skipping a beat, the hunter would make the first move, this time.  Something came over the hunter from seeing Freyd using the big hitting attacks, that the hunter tried to replicate it.  The single sweep of Galaxy Destroyer would work, but Hirru would do something more.  Charging in, he used the thrusting power of the combat skill to close the distance and thrust the blade into the giant's foot before slamming his foot hard into the ground, reactivating the old art and using the art while the blade was still inside his opponent.  The system did the rest, as the sword ripped through the Achilles tendon of the giant, bringing it down.  Finally, a good use of the paralysis and envenom combo.

Dashing towards their foe's far side, Freyd shifted sideways at the last minute, clipping the mighty troll hard upon the left side of its gigantic, bulbous head.  Ugzeke, still frozen stiff from Hirru's precision strike, stood helpless as poison coursed through his simulated veins.  Within a round, the two warriors had stripped him of nearly a third of his health.  If he could fathom fear, Ugzeke didn't show it.  The truth was far more likely that he was too stupid to understand what has happening.  So it had been with every other battle against the titan of the trolls.  

"That was a really solid hit, Hirru!  Don't let up.  Keep him stunned, if you can. A few more solid hits and we'll have him."

Landing on the far side, Freyd slid backwards to a stop, leaning forward and driving his weapon into the rocky cavern floor to slow and steady himself, even as Samael's Pride ate away at the ground wherever it made contact.  His gaze never lost sight of his target.

The hunter would follow the whisper's suggestion as it seemed to be a fairly powerful maneuver.  He could say so from personal experience from boss battles and being on the wrong end of a stun / paralysis combo.  He still hated bugs for that one reason.  Even still, it was something that was quite practical, and Hirru could actually see the brilliance that Shelob's Fang could become.  Was Shelob a bug?  he thought, as worked his way to the other ankle.  Thinking 'stun', the hunter flew into a five slash art that formed a star around the target's wound.  The big oaf didn't really seem to notice that it had not taken a single step since the two of them had started hitting Ugzeke.

"May have to start shattering it's hide soon, I'll prep that.  You keep slamming it!"

Hirru called out to Freyd.  Seeing as the Whisper never seemed to miss, Hirru could assume he could constantly hit without worry of messing up.  Hirru, on the other hand, didn't have such a luxury.  The added accuracy was grand, but a single miss step could break their combination.

A curt nod was Freyd's only reply as he fell into full combat state, pupils dilating and adapting to the ever-present dark.  A black-leathered hand slid silently lower, shifting his grasp on his wielded sliver of nothing as he broke into a full-out run.  Dust and debris rose in a trail behind him as he picked up speed, boots pounding into the stone floor , shattering it in his wake.  The holy seals around Samael's Pride flared a brilliant, celestial white, building gravity and wrath as he ran.  Soon, the glow engulfed him, granting him the appearance of a blazing star that had found its way into the underdark.  Streaking towards the dumbfounded, unfortunate troll, ribbons of light spreading behind him like a set of angelic wings intent on making war.

Planting one end of the weapon firmly on the ground before him, Freyd unleashed a pulse of that gravitic might and launched his Falling Celestial's Fury fifty feet into the air for added power.  Arcing back down, he impacted Ugzeke's chest with the force of a falling, righteous mountain.  Everything turned blinding white and silence overwhelmed all senses as a ball of pure, perfect light collided against a titan in the darkness.  Time froze, broken by the force and intensity of the moment, and then fought to slowly resume.  The outward blast unleashed by the strike shattered every stalagmite and stalactite in the cavern, spraying stony shrapnel in every direction and devastating the entire area.  When it was done, only a large, red-skinned hand could still be seen, hanging limply from an Ugzeke-shaped hole in the ground.  Its fingers twitched slightly.  A health bar that had suddenly gone from green to deep red confirmed that the mob still lived, but only barely.

Darkness swallowed the scene once more, but silence still reigned, broken only by Freyd's steady, heavy breaths.  Raw impulse pounded like thunder in his ears, threatening to overwhelming him with bloodlust.  Even Samael's Pride groaned in protest as his hands clenched around it, seeking to release another wave of destruction.

Yet another display of the sheer power that Freyd sent out as an entire health bar was nearly decimated before his eyes.  Whatever strength that the man had, the hunter wondered if an entire six man squad with equivalent power couldn't do the same with a labyrinth guardian, or floor boss.  If they could look into it, their ascent up the castle Aincrad would be that much more faster.  They could relive the golden months again, where seven floors were found and their bosses destroyed.  They could possibly begin a new golden age.  The thought tickled a certain nerve in the hunter, as if his old tactician ways were starting to creep up once more.

That thought was disturbed by the sound of Freyd's heavy breathing, and an even louder roar coming from the large indentation in the wall.  The skin of Ugzeke had turned red, along with its eyes.  It started pulling itself out of its hole in the wall, and looked like it was going to start smashing everything around.  Hirru took this moment to use any rubble around to reach a bit higher before processing to perform his standard AOE double swing attack, but this time, he would force it downward, starting from the trolls thigh and allowing gravity to rip the entire leg apart in those two swings.  This would allow the <<Shatter>> ability to work its magic a little better, and give Freyd a last hit on the field boss.  Though, with their Venom still within the troll's body, they may take it out before hand.

"Feel that?  Venom's a bitch, ain't it."

Staggering towards the crumpled troll, Freyd struggled to maintain his balance, swaying as he walked.  Red eyes winced beneath his cowl, seeking focus.  It was as if the magnitude of the blast just delivered had drained him.  Pausing, Freyd leaned on his emptiness, bracing the void he carried against the cratered cavern floor.  He wobbled there for a few moments before resuming his advance.  Gripping Samael's Pride by one end, he swung it high for maximum momentum, and bopped the furious, broken troll right on the tip of the nose.

The staff bounced off, having no apparent effect whatsoever.  Freyd's head jerked up, pulling the tip of the weapon close to his face for closer inspection.  He poked it a few times with his finger, as if it might loosen whatever troll gunk had gummed it up.  Ugzeke moaned - a failed attempt at producing a roar, as his throat simultaneously swelled and dissolved from within, courtesy of their tag team DOTs.  Freyd shushed him, casually, then held his other hand out with an upheld index finger, telling the troll to wait.

Ugzeke died, instead, bursting into a wide cloud of bluish fractal motes that momentarily pushed back the surrounding dark.  Freyd just blinked a few times, not quite having re-gathered his senses.

"Oh.  Uh... did we get him?!"
