Background:

Goku grew up in a small cottage in a forest in the united states. He was not very educated as a child and lived more or less like a brute caveman with his father and no mother. His father ended up meeting a woman who brought the family back into society and that was when Goku's life changed. Now had to go to school and do a bunch of societal things that had nothing to do with what he actually enjoyed. Instead of playing out in the forest he had to go to a playground which could only be done at select times during the week. He hated his parents as he grew older and fought with them at every turn.

The one thing that Goku liked about society was gaming. He sucked at gaming in general due to his clumsy nature but he always wanted to try out the newest fad even if it meant he wouldn't ever be competitive. He took a liking to virtual reality games over ones that needed controllers because he was less clumsy in the games. He typically played the healer or supportive roles in games. He was just about to go off to community college when he got stuck in SAO. 

Virtues

1. Investigative. Having never had the opportunity to explore anything outside of academics Goku has a thirst for knowledge about other aspects of life. He loves to experiment with the game's features and pushes both the game and himself to his limits. He also enjoys helping others with their issues if there is a mystery involved. This extends to quests as well - he enjoys quests that go off of the cliché trail. Unfortunately his curious nature often sends him into dangerous territory. 
2. Motivated. For a lot of Goku's life he was prevented from doing anything that he actually enjoyed but that never stopped him from dreaming. Despite how mentally exhausted he got from his chores and studies he always found a way to make some time for things he enjoyed at the cost to his sleep. He also loves competition and is happy to give it his all when there's something at stake. 
3. Positive Thinker. There's always multiple ways a situation can play out and Goku likes to think about the good rather than the bad. If something bad happens to him he always comes up with some way that he benefited from the experience. This makes him an encouraging person in general and for this reason he finds it easy to get along with others. 

Flaws

1. Foolhardy. Goku has overconfidence when he thinks he can win. This leads to him not trying as hard if he thinks he doesn't have to and because of this he often gets into precarious situations. He often finds that he is underequipped for exploring new areas. 
2. Clumsy. Goku has difficulty with dropping things in real life and because of that he often gets overwhelmed with menus and can misselect things unless he focuses. He never seems to be quite competent with weaponry either. He often stumbles when he is distracted or misspeaks words if he isn't focusing on the conversation.
3. Stubborn. Goku has a tough time with coming to a compromise with others. He has a certain world view and a belief of what is right and wrong which he shapes his decisions around. He isn't easily convinced that he is wrong. In the game this usually manifests in him wanting to complete quests a certain way instead of doing things the most optimal way.
