[F22-PP] Double Wammy! (Witch of the West)

Walking in the door after a long day. The day however was still young. Rounding about 5 PM and Gaius wasn't even home yet. Walking to the kitchen, she grabs some juice and pours it into a cup she grabs. Leaning against the counter and taking a sip. Setting the cup on the counter, she opens her HUD deciding that this day was  not going to be over yet. She wanted a slight challenge, but something that would help the guild out slightly.Sending a message through the guild chat saying,

Going on a double quest up to end the day. Gear up and meet me at the guild hall grounds if you chose to tag along.

The chime of her HUD sends the message off as she grabs a honey roll off the counter, something that she had made earlier that day. Ko hops on the counter and knocks her cup over onto the floor with a shatter of glass. "Really, why... Why would you do this." Freya sighs and picks her cat up. Borris comes walking in the kitchen as Freya hops over the glass and scoops up Borris too. Setting them both in the bathroom, closing the door. Freya starts to clean up the mess. After a few minutes she opens the door and walks out the house shaking her head.

Placing a blanket on the ground in the guild halls front yard, setting a few food items on the cloth of what she grabbed from the storage. Sitting on the ground, she starts the eat away preparing for the battle ahead.

The soft patter of her heels moving into the mainstay of Delilah, having just finished a few lingering duties that needed to be done. A sudden notification sees the girl pause, and her steps come to a halt. "Another quest, I wonder which one." she responds to the menu as if it could pay her some sort of answer. On her wrist, a small silver band pokes out of the wrap that usually held beneath a cloth hand guard. Kasumi taps it with her index finger, triggering the non combat transport item. Leaning into it, as some inscription on it begins to glow. "Floor 22, Forest of Memory." a smattering of flowers as in her typical fashion, a flash of pink light sees her simply cease to exist. The forest, empty and bits of sunlight poking through the canopy. A twist of her feet before she lunges for a nearby tree, after all she moved faster while airborne.

Wandering through the forest, catch in hand, Freyd had spent the better part of the day forcing himself to honor a promise.  The memory of his grandfather had come to signify an anchor, or better yet a foundation upon which a person could be built; one not grown from a kernel of rage and hate, but its total opposite.  Fishing helped him find peace that so often eluded him, and had become his guilty pleasure - a form of self-inflicted therapy, gladly accepted.  

A ping. 

Freya?  Eyes of blue, devoid of the usual tension that stretched them to a natural suspicion, opened and reviewed the incoming invite.  A rare smile graced thin lips still unaccustomed to the gesture.  The warmth of joy stirred in his heart.  He would share his bounty with his friend, gladly.  She had endured enough hardship on her own.  Ironic, that the Forest of Memories could become a place for them both to forget old wounds.

Casually, Freyd swept the window closed and trusted to other means to find his way.  A simple, practiced focus to interact with Cardinal's systems and reveal his destination.  Where was she?  Such a disarming thought that he almost missed it.  Memory.  Stirred by a place imbued with power over its essence, the action resurrected a dated sensation, but one burned keenly into his mind for its oddity.  It was the location that caught his attention.  He'd never bothered to use the skill to find Freya before, yet somehow knew the place that echoed in his sixth sense.  It was her home.  Freyd had been there before.

His footfalls slowed as curiosity overtook the solace of his stroll.  Confusion became suspicion, and admonition for never having thought to this test this before.  Tuatha.  The figure in the mirror.  The demon protector that had kept Freya alive, yet tortured her to the brink of madness by his very presence.  They had stood side by side in Simmone's mirror, yet it had never occurred to him to even try to track a ghost.  Sensing his own shadow's scowl, and heartbeat quicken, Freyd refocused again in search of the wayward figure.  Same place, but also fragments elsewhere.  This had happened before, several times, all ultimately connected to a single white-haired mystery.

"Fucking fate," Freyd growled, his catch nearly dropping from his hands, saved at the last moment by an act of will and a body that obeyed.  It was a tool, after all.  Anger flashed across his face, then faded as he did the thing he could never do before, and thought of another.  "Shit.  Freya.  What the hell is this going to do to you?"  Clenching his fist, he drew a deep breath to calm himself.  Too many dots had manifested, with connections pending.  He would spare his friend whatever grief he could, and carry on.  Fate could fathom no other outcome.

Emerging from the woods, he held his offering high and waved to his fellow guild mates, no hint of the mask made evident.  This disguise was different.  It hurt to wear it, yet he knew he must, for her sake.  For all of their fates.

A single turning page, upon a countertop as various dials are turned. The soft glow of a blue flame, cast against a large sphere of glass. The mixture within that bubble, boiling and twisting with rising steam. "Very good, seems to be taking." He remarks to the girl on his immediate left, who seems almost elated that something had finally taken. Alchemy was no simple task, and it took dedication, given it seemed that almost half or more of concoctions tried to blow up in your face. The small ring of a prompt, a small little envelop flaring out of the corner of his eye. "It would appear that something is about to start, will you be alright on your own to bottle it?" A snap of her attention to Raidou and an almost abrasive pout. "Fine, then leave, jerk." and he couldn't help but smile back at Ruri. It was after all her way of being disappointed, and she hardly meant a word of it. "I'll be back as soon as I can."

"I don't care."

As he left through the doorway, she remained grumpy.

Looking into the distance she sees pink petals that shift to purple in an instant. They were not the same as the tree leaves so she knew right then that it was Kasumi that was tree hoping. Just to the right, she sees Freyd approach. He was giving her a look that she didn't really enjoy. "You should really stop staring, it might end badly for you," Freya says this with a friendly grin. A few minutes later she hears the door behind her open, turning slightly to find Raidou standing at the doorway. "Cool full party, so I was thinking Witch Bitch and the Big Ugly Troll dude." She hops up to her feet and dusted off her butt. "Buff up and lets go," saying as she grabs another piece of beef. As she walks onward, she sees the winds start to round up pebbles from the ground. "I think that I am going to ride the winds up this time. Seems like it could be fun." Freya would wait for the others to catch up before moving forward.

A trickling parade of tapping from objects like sandals at the bottom of her heels. "Wind?" Kasumi remarks curiously, the last time she'd undertaken this quest there was no instant of wind riding. Last time they were just rummaging through cabinets and junk. A pluck of a single floating pink petal sees her attire shift from its normal white to that of black with red trim. It is as if her demeanor shifts, going from a soft and gentle one to something hard and rigid. "Then, we'll ride whatever winds it is. What kind of forces do we expect to encounter?" her inquiry searches both her cousin and her own captain. This was likely to be a no holds barred kind of exchange given the inclusion of them, recalling immediately Lun'rael and her forces, which was quite the scuffle. Pulling a pair of hand wraps around her palms tighter, and digging that decree into her skin. She'd be ready for whatever they would be kickin' the crap out of today.

Fish sailed into the forest, forgotten and abandoned as Freyd turned to focus upon the task at hand.  Something behind his eyes spoke to Raidou, informing his fellow captain of concerns to be discussed later and elsewhere.  Their kinship in spirit and approach served as the conduit to communicate the essentials without requiring words.  

Reaching over his head and behind his back, he drew forth his infamous weapon.  A shaft of pure darkness, roughly six feet long and wrapped in a sanctified seal of light.  Freyd himself wondered what would happen if it ever gave way where he held it.  Most likely, it would devour his hands, yet it never had.  The thing bent to his will, as and when he required and without need for explicit command.  So it was again.  

Palm held upright in expectation, his eyes flashed fully black for a moment, as if searching the void.  Something appeared, manifesting from nothing and nowhere.  A flick of his thumb, wrapped in supple black leather, grasped the odd tome and flung it unceremoniously onto the ground.  Clasping both hands around the staff also summoned he drove it straight into the book.  Keening rang through the trees of the Forest of Memories, joined immediately by the tortured wails of a sundered story.  Whipping winds coalesced around them, drawn in by the singularity and causing a microburst that flattened everything around them.  The sky filled with debris that clattered to the ground a moment later.  Their surroundings had changed, and once the cloud of torn leaves and  broken branches ended the sky was full of monkeys.

"Beats riding a tornado," he muttered beneath his cowl.  "Come on.  Let's do this."

For Kasumi's benefit, he pointed upwards.

A simple exchange, a glance with nothing more than one extra second. A discussion would be held, later. A windstorm arises and falls, far from the strangest thing the nomad had seen. "That's...new." Raidou quipped, repairing the distance from his brow a pair of lenses had slid. The robe begins to return to a simple sway from a flutter. The horrid screeching happens immediately, as various apparatus and objects are flung with clatters and bangs. "Ah, I needed another sample." The red wanderer remarked, as he still hadn't cracked the formula of the one potion he'd yet to brew himself. A hand over his shoulder, to one of two awaiting blades and wrapping his hand around a yellowish tinted one. Lighter than air, as it's torn clean and a flash of light plays. Between the two captains, obvious differences in weapons and yet a harmony. "Best not lag behind, else you'll never get your chance." He spoke to Freya and Kasumi in a tone they'd never heard. Electricity sparks, short at first, before his hair starts to stand on end and leaps into the stonework in golden forked discharges.

There was strength in the bond's he had formed, and he found it in a bed of roses.

Becoming a blur of red and a flapping mess of a robe, a table shreds into a million splinters. Glassware shattered and sprayed across the floor. That same effervescent yellow sweep as the static discharges, leaving smoldering pieces of monke on the floor before they all detonate. A sudden ruckus in the floors above makes him pause. "Do you think she heard us?"

Using the gust of winds to her advantage, she has rode these same tyrants many times before thanks to Gaius. Shooting herself up into the sky with her Scythe to her side, like a bowling ball, her weapon collides with the next set. Pieces of critters spray in ever direction to the grounds below. Pushing herself just a bit further to catch herself on the ledge of a window of the tower just a few floors down. Biting down on the hilt of her weapon holding it in her mouth while she climbs the rest of the way up to bricked building. Hearing clattering inside the building as she pulls herself up and sits on the window seal setting her weapon just inside. "Can you come out to play," she hollers inside as she sees a potion bottle drop to the ground and shattering. Freya turns her head to listen, hearing heels hit the concrete with an echo. They were moving away from her. Freya chuckles calling down below, "Coming your way," as she hops the rest of the way in the window. She knew that there was a few other monkeys but she also knew that Kasumi could handle her own.

Flicking his wrist, Freyd summoned his weapon, oddly resembling a giant black baton.  Six feet of extra reach made a substantial difference.  Whirling the thing around with casual ease, holding only one end, a cage of black and white death formed around him, slaughtering any of the witch's minions foolish enough to draw near.  A call from above drew his attention.  Freya was having fun.   The muscles in his jaw relaxed slightly, part of his focus still directed towards targets far distant from this place.  Pre-occupation in battle was folly, and he might have stirred from his reverie if that same damned skeletal guy wasn't waving at him from the back of nearby monkey.

"You again?!"

His staff swung wide and high, allowing a single target to avoid demise.

"Bah!  Kasumi!  Straggler."  He jerked his thumb over his shouldered even while pressing their assault up the stairs.  A nod from his cowl signaled Rai where the witch would be, even as she rounded the corner, shrieked in panic and headed for the other stair he'd only just pointed at.

A varied light show and a gust of wind, just a parade of different methods working in tandem. Freyd beckons, and with that notion a glimmer in violet and a handful of petals get sucked into that current and fill the chamber with graceful descent. A pair of feet jerk outward from being pressed to her chest as she lands, driving the one lingering ape into the floor from flight. It slams hard enough to crack the stone, and the sound of something else breaking with it is heard. Still, and not breathing. Kasumi lands after a somersault and a slide, her feet struggling to find immediate traction from the momentum. "Down." the almost cold response to her commander, it was robotic like a well oiled machine doing whatever task it was told to perform. Long dead was the girl's outward show of pacifism, choosing to release those emotions from bogging her down.

A shared glance, and Raidou was on top of her but a second later. One broad stroke with more static riddling and curving off that blade sends her ass over tea kettle into the center of the room, thoroughly obliterating the remainder of a shattered table. "Curious, you think you could hide." Raidou's eyes light up, a skill that could find her anywhere. A faint trail of red, as he twists his weapon and its starts to wash with color again. The truth was, no matter where she went or what object she decided to perch behind. Nowhere would be safe, as two trackers of Aincrad knew her face. There were leagues of pairs of eyes and weapons that would seek her out. "Freyja, Hold your breath." His feet slide apart and one back, his robe screams in agony as the crimson smears from speed. Latching on to the girl's wrist, she's sucked into that vacuum and gains a jarring burst of speed.

At first she was unsure what Raidou meant but then the moment she takes the last step down the stairs, her wrist was grabbed and grand speed winds swirled around them. This was different though because it felt like her breath was being taken from her. This mixed with the black oozed mist that was coming from Freyja's frame, it became very dark in this small area. Glowing yellow as a skill activates, in that moment she was flung toward this bitch with a larger speed than she has ever gone before. Readjusting her weapon to the best of her ability at such speed, the pure impact causing the back wall to give way as the witch and Freyja end up outside. Landing still on her feet, deep breaths were given as she was just holding it that entire time. Turning her head toward the building, there was a giant hole where they came through. Glancing down at the Witch who was covered in rubble, her fingers were twitching... Looking through the large hole now at Rai, "Wow," was all that she manage to get out before placing a foot on the witches chest to keep her from fleeing.

One, two, three steps in a rhythmic tapping before she lunges through the opening and disappears to a cascade of lilac. Seconds later, as a foot finds the woman's chest owned by Freya, the pure tide appears. Her hand cocked back beneath her right shoulder. The fist unfolds into a dagger like firmness as her feet slide apart. "Sleep well." she comments with a bite of her cheek and an almost grim look on her brow. Kasumi's hand becomes engulfed with a deep purplish blue light, and as she drives it forward, a blood-curdling snap. That bladed fist connects with the side of her exposed throat, and it bends inward and twists in a shape it clearly shouldn't. Pupils become limp and glassed. "Rapid Death to those who have mistreated me." she remarks under her breath, a decree repeated by the method at which she was taught. The obvious intention of lethality became immediately apparent, and the girl reflected a mix of sorrow and acknowledgement as she looked at her cousin.

"A good beginning," Freyd offered, his gaze already on the horizon through the hole Raidou and Freya had just bashed into the tower wall.  "But we're not done.  With the raid pending, more resources should be collected."  Turning to face his companions, the Whisper spoke the name of their target: "Ugzeke"

[Scene moves to Floor 23, Underdark]

Wandering into the darkness beyond the gates of Kalanaes, Freyd led them to the mob's well-established path of travel.  He'd killed this particular field boss so many times that few details about it were beyond his awareness.  Tracking ahead, he led them to their prey's current location within a matter of minutes.  Pointing out the approaching mob, it might otherwise have been mistaken for another lumpy bump among a forest of linked, puddly stalagmites and stalactites.  This was his favourite ambush spot, primarily because of the vertical vantage it offered.  

"As before," he offered, speaking softly towards Kasumi. His meaning was clear. She instantly recognized her captain's recognition.  "I want to see you unleashed. Just like this."

Folding in upon himself, Freyd reappeared near the cavern ceiling high above the field boss.  Whirling his screeching death stick with precise destructive force, he severed every hanging stone tooth within reach and sent them hurtling down like a meteor shower, before plummeting to follow them down.  The ground shook, like a titan had just stepped on an ant, angrily.  Ugzeke was flattened, where he normally expected to flatten others.

"Hey bud," Freyd whispered in his giant, shredded ear.  "Miss me?"

"As before." The girl reciprocates the loosening of her bounds, and as her captain dives right into the thick of it, she ceases to be. An earth-shattering bang fills the dimly lit cavern, leaving a steaming pile of ugly in a concave imprint on the floor. "Argh, YOU!? AGAIN? WHY?" The creature objects to the whisper's frequent visits, smearing him across the stonework on numerous occasion. It starts to lift a weapon in rebuttal, before it seizes. Something hurt, a lot...

Retracting a slender peach covered hand with a spray of color, the girl had slipped her hand right between the soft spot in his spine. Ugzeke attempts to twist, but his legs give out, crumbling as he struggled to keep himself together. One half of his face becomes limp, a long strand of drool finding its way out of the massive lips. As his vision blurs, struggling to keep his eyes open, all he could see was his reaper, and a slight smattering of purple petals.

{Charge CD: 1/3}

At first she was unable to figure out if she had destroyed this big guy before. Two fingers on her chin, then her eyes light up. "Oh it's you," with a twist of her scythe she starts to run at the large drooling meat suit that was now timbering, unable to move. Hoping on it's head which was now flat against the mud, getting to the middle of his back she positions her weapon just right. Freyja drags the bladed side down it's spine causing some body parts to twitched as a wound opened up. It was a bit gruesome and maybe unnecessary but she was not going to have the thing get up without real damage dealt. A small grin appears on her face as she hops off and just looks at it. "You are way more pathetic that I remember you to be." Lifting his head up with her Scythes end as drool washed down her blade. "Are you guys sure this is the right troll, he seems a bit blaa," turning to face the others now.

A rather complacent stare, peering through a pair of lenses that in this light were just mirrors. Raidou rips his blade in a swipe, passing through in a blind. That lingering static still over driving his movement, and as his robe sways, a chunk of health simply falls off the produced bar. "I could have sworn he was worse than this." The nomad remarks, much to the confusion of surrounding party members. "What?" He asks those that were staring, it had yet to dawn on him that he was acting even the slightest bit different. A tap of an extended index to an awaiting pair of glasses, Ugzeke stuck face first in the dirt. This wasn't going to last long, was it? Good, it would leave more time left over to work with Ruri. The bluenette was getting better at alchemy, but it still was a difficult profession to master.

"Nah," Freyd added in response to his companions' question about the troll's durability, completely glossing over Raidou's changing demeanor.  It wasn't an immediately relevant factor in the current combat.  His machine-like mind had already filed it away for future investigation.  "It's the right troll - same old Ugzeke.  He'd just not used to having four full-fledged members of Firm Anima wailing on him all at once."

Bracing himself on a pair of massive, muscled arms, their enemy heaved his bulk up from the Ugzeke-shaped crater they had created by their repeated attached.  Freyd swung hard and smashed his weapon into one of the limbs.  The sheer force of the blow sent it flying outward where it crashed into a nearby rock pillar, wiping it out completely.  Ugzeke fell, off balance, into the same crater he had just sought to escape.  An instant later, the column he'd just destroyed came crashing down upon his head.  His skin reddened and started steaming, while a muffled cry made its way up from beneath the rubble.

Charge CD [2/3], Vanish CD [2/3]

"It does seem to be a simple kill. Our numbers are something It wasn't designed to handle." Kasumi rebukes, ripping her right foot up and her heel engulfs in purple light. A sudden downward sweep sees it dig in deep. Ugzeke was on his last set of legs, which was ironic given his current posture. It didn't matter if he was angry, or buried. The damn thing had less than a few moments to live, and despite dwindling energy pools. A remove of her heel in a slide, revealing a concave break where it had struck, despite the meaty frame it had come in contact with. A bubbling and winded red vegetable in the hole, matched with a girl who no longer saw the need to remain in concealment. This was over, opposition dwindled. She'd steal a breather and wait for the hammer to fall. Exchanging a lording position with Freya, to finish the job.
