His younger years were filled with helping his father on the fields, but as the youngest of four kids, he didn't do as much work as his older siblings, and as he grew he found more and more ways to get out of working in the fields. Helping his mother around the house, running errands in town, even just taking their dog for a walk around the block. He didn't like a lot of manual labor and he much preferred the smaller tasks. After a few years of school and working around the town to earn a few extra dollars, he went off to live in Tokyo after saving up enough money. When he got there, he was shocked at the utter change of dynamics compared to his home. He realized that he was born for the bustling world, and he felt at home within the concrete jungle, learning quickly and finding a job at a small jeweler's shop, where he became the apprentice of the shop owner at a young age after showing interest. There, he learned how to make beautiful necklaces and rings, the difference between real and fake jewels, and how to barter and deal with rowdy customers. After a few years he lived a comfortable life, but he never found love. But surprisingly, he felt okay with that. He was happy in his job and he enjoyed the bustle of the city life. He had made good friends and his family was happy for him, what more could he want? After a few years, his brothers and sisters started families, and his oldest Sister had a niece, whom he grew a bond with since she was little. She would call him "Shainī Ojisan," from all the small jewels and things he would bring her as gifts. None were too expensive, and his Sister didn't agree with giving her these things, but he did it anyway. As she got older they became good friends, and she told him about an amazing new game coming out, Sword Art Online. His sister was a bit worried about buying her one, as something in her gut told her that it was a bad idea. Soda, being the good brother and uncle he was, decided to buy it and test it out before she bought one, which put her at ease. He went out and bought two copies, one for him and one for his niece, and bought himself a nerve gear. He was going to give her copy as a birthday present and kept it a surprise. He set up the program and put on the NerveGear, ready to give the game a test run for his niece. However, not everything goes as planned. Virtues: <<Wise>>: Having lived his life for many years and going through difficult trials, situations and the like, Oji knows a lot. He knows people, he knows how they think and how to get out of situations. He loves to help those in need to understand others, and sometimes even themselves. <<Humble>>: Oji has never been a man to brag. He enjoys the things that he creates and has a sense of pride in his work, but he never flaunts it about to people or rubs it in their face. He is a humble craftsman, and would much rather keep his head down instead of rising out of the crowd. <<Light-Hearted>>: Oji always looks for the good outlook in life. Whether in an airport waiting for a flight 3 hours overdue, getting stuck in a traffic jam, or even just losing his ice cream out of its cone. he looks for the good that comes out of situations and does his best to not hold onto the bad things for too long. Flaws: <<True Pacifist>>: Oji is not a fan of violence. In fact he would much rather find words to say instead of striking at a person he feels has wronged him. He struggled to hold a weapon in any malice towards any creature, as he feels that life is important for anything alive, whether in real life or in a game <<Inept>>: Much preferring to reading a book or gardening, Oji is not the best at combat, or anything that has to do with hard living or "roughing it" as the kids say. He is used to more lavish living. He doesn't quite understand how people do things in harsh environments or in combat. <<Gullible>>: Oji has never been good at realizing lies from truth, and he tends to trust anyone he comes into contact with, and believes what they say about any situation. He takes all these words to heart, and has found himself in hot water thanks to that. But, even though this has happened numerous times, it still hasn't changed how he thinks of people and their word of mouth, whether good or bad. He saved him and helped get him the needed Materials and then some. Oji likes him, and feels that he owes him a drink the next time he sees him. He strives to have the almost calm demeanor the man has when he's in combat, and hopes to have the strength he does in that aspect, but he knows there's more to him than meets the eye. - Koga [Acquaintance] A young frontliner that Oji had met through happen circumstances from a giant raid on Floor 26, to a Christmas party that he had hosted. He got to know him a lot better thanks to his quest to find a familiar, where they had a chat by the water and had a good bunch of soup. He feels a solid connection with him, and he has a small hope that he can somewhat help the young man with his emotions, as he feels that he needs help more than he may let on. - ??? - ???
