Right into the mouth of the labyrinth, desperate to break his mind out of the funk it had found itself trapped in. What better way than getting trapped in an actual maze. The tapping of other players footfalls at his back, as he raises a fist and peers over the horizon. A single solidary point breaking into the clouds. "That must be what we are looking for." Spoken in a mutter as he pivots around and scans the faces of the rest of his party. Simmone was drawing a line of chalk to allow them safe passage out, it wasn't going to be too difficult. After all, all of them were becoming much more refined with every day. He was starting to trust heavily in them all to have his back. As he breaches into the fold, making motions for where he assumed the tower to be. Running his hand on the wall as he rounds the corner, and they all remain in a tight nit bunch.

Darting from top to top, keeping a bird's eye view on the guilds tank. There didn't seem to be much in the way of hostilities yet. It was curiously absent, given the few times she'd been on this floor, the entire place was littered with mobs. Over the airwaves, a message directly sent to the group through a party chat. ~All clear, proceed forward. As her eyes leap to Kasumi, and that dork, Celeste. It had taken her by surprise that the woman could even remain quiet. From the few encounters she'd had with the red haired girl, she was everything but subtle. But Setsuna wasn't going to argue if they could get a jump on their foes. Looming overhead, large sweeping shadows. Perhaps these were the reason why the maze was barren, these giant poultry had consumed most of what would normally be walking around? Even still, they would remain aware and on the defensive.

On the opposed part of the spectrum, sweeping left, was Kasumi. Each were playing the part of scout, with Celeste taking up the rear and keeping an eye on their own backs. They'd formed a strange triangle of eyesight. ~Nothing, keep moving. The message rings through shortly after Setsuna's. A graceful leap into a slide, as she takes a position beneath a bit of rubble to shield herself from the sky. Massive beasts skirted the air above, painting large shadows with every pass. They were looking for the nexus, given the queen of these things was pumping out offspring at an extreme rate. There was a proof and a horde of liquid resource that the guild desired. They were all easily the top end of the scale, so they figured between the lot of them they could handle this. They were all prepared and refined to work together. Even that damned Gaius, who had definitely grown into his big head. That punch had did him some good.

"That is it." Simmone beckons with an outstretched hand, being the guide this time around. This wasn't her first rendition of this quest, and likely given what popped out when they completed it, it wouldn't be her last. With that acknowledgement, Griswold and her both nod. Gaius was pressed into the wall behind them both, a bit of that moxie had fallen away, apparently. The girls were doing what Simmone had come to expect. "I suppose it's clear, shall we press closer?" Simmone quips toward the pair, and they perform a quick gesture of yes. Gaius looked like he was about to lose his shit, which was strange for him. Normally he'd be all for fighting 'the big thing' so what was the deal here? They were big and black and could fly, but really they were just as killable as the next thing on the plate. "Are you going to be ok, dear?" Simmone asks him, trying to suss out the culprit.

Doing her best to keep pace with Kasumi and Setsuna, the girls really were something else. Dunno what it was, but they were a bitch to follow behind. But she was just on 'watch our ass' duty, so it wasn't super demanding. Her eyes dart to the sky, fuckin' dragons man. Wow. and for a moment, Celeste was a little bewildered by the view. There was something majestic about it. The tower caught her attentions and snaps her back to reality, Right, we are here to kill one of these things. The thought races through her head as she makes a quick bound and drops low to avoid detection. ~Ya'll are fine, keep going. The message hastily dumped into the party chat, typos and all. How much longer was this going to take, and which one was it. There was only a shitload of dragons, perhaps it was the biggest one among them.

Pressed against one of the massive stone walls like a spider, those were fucking dragons. "You know what dragons do? They fly." Gaius remarks with the realization that no one had thought of this shit before. He jumped, they flew. That means he was about to be point-blank with some of these damn things, and gravity was a bitch. "But I guess we are kinda in the thick of it now." Gaius remarks with a cupped hand, trying to keep his voice down. They'd opened this can of worms, and no matter how crazy this shit was, they'd have to make good on it. Brandishing his glaive, he swallows hard. "Right behind you, but one of you get its attention first, so I don't jump right into its mouth or something." The imagery gets stuck in his head, of him pole-vaulting right into an open maw and becomes some very fast food.

Simmone was close, following right behind Griswold, Gaius taking up the rear. "Another dead end, this was so much easier before." The black cat admits, with the girls on guard duty, they were less likely to be surprised. It appeared that sneaking their way into the tower was probably going to be a no-go. The group kept ramming headfirst into barricades, mazes just do be like that doe. Slowly pulling out her rapier, keeping it on hand if they were to need it in a pinch. Twisting on his heel, after the beckon from Simmone to give this crazy shit a shot. "Sure hope this works, if not, I hope it eats you first." The dragoon raises his weapon over his right shoulder, a bit of lime green light claiming its point. It begins to burn hot, washing in that color of all of his sword arts. He takes two rapid steps forward, aiming for the largest target in the sky. His arm falls, his body folding forward as he heaves it with all his might. It evolves from a single raised weapon to a solid and volatile missile, the force alone causes the air to break and clap from the released energy. Through the air in blinding speeds, it impacts a wing with deadly accuracy. Screaming as it spirals out of control, slamming into the tower and the adjacent wall reduces all of it to rubble. "Bullseye, get it before it gets up!" Gaius barks as his weapon reappears in his clutches, and he starts to rush toward it.

The ground shakes, a million stones race past of different sizes. He got it, and with the sudden realization that it had worked, Simmone was caught completely with her pants down. "I cannot believe it." Staring at Gaius's back as he begins to beat total pavement toward the creature. Tripping on one of those loose stones, she falls to one knee. "Perfect, I'll catch up." Lifting her ass up with an irritated tone and tossing one of Shiina's little objects out in the middle of the field, it starts to glow and the presence of the girl evolves out from it. It wasn't quite to the same magnitude given the conductor wasn't present, but it still worked to see the creature slow down and start to languish. "How does she do it?" The black cat quips, using her right hand to shove herself back onto her feet. Shiina really was something special, that was hard to reproduce.

The dragon begins to right itself, having been grounded far too quickly. A heavy breath in sees its maw begin to glow, its aim? To set all these players on fire. But it only reaches even the slightest kindling before a rocketing purple line sees Kasumi apparate out of nowhere, a shockwave following behind the blow seeing a scattering of teeth and scales. Something vital beneath its jaw folds in, and it gags, as its mouth is slammed shut with the force. "Setsuna!" Kasumi bellows as it attempts to rake her with a claw in rebuttal, lifting a large right leg up and slicing toward the black clad girl. It passes through her as if like water, leaving only a shower of petals behind the attack as if she was a figment. Elsewhere, Kasumi appears, having been long gone as the attack was made toward an after image. Her hands and feet sweep, and form a stance ready to make another showing.

To that call, a single silverish blue line scatters the field like a bullet. It slices in and across that exposed throat made bare from Kasumi's fist. White like smoke trails behind it, struggling to keep up. Standing at the end of that swing made visible as the smog coalesces into a solid shape. Skadi held high, hungering for blood, as the girl lifts the scabbard and starts to sheathe it closed. A soft grinding as the beast seemed trapped at a standstill, calculating its pain. *click* the weapon closed completely, sees a sudden and rapid discharge of red data spray from its neck, and once it clears it's frozen around the wound. "Die." The girl murmurs through a cloth covering over her mouth, as she slides on her heels and leaps backward, disappearing without an issue. The health bar on the thing plummets by a fair margin, having finally added up and removed the joint swings from those two girls. It was a lot of damage.

Right behind the girls, just lagging a bit behind them. A single ringing blow sees the dragon's head turn like it had just been punched, the ice shattering in a spray of crystalline light. "How do you like them apples!" Celeste goads with an immediate goad, spitting fire with a grin. Her momentum sliding and grinding to a halt, that blade slamming into the floor in its impractical weight. Within that spray, a wave of red light follows behind her in a trail. Using both hands to wrestle the weapon over her right shoulder before she starts to sprint, the dragon slowly pivoting to greet them all. "Ain't no time like the present, I am going to crush you flat!" She barks as she rushes and starts to pick up momentum in a wide berth, Griswold starting to run in to greet them both. Her eyes lock with the beast, becoming bright crimson and leaving these twinned trailing lines out of the corners, replacing her orange eyes. Her fury was her weapon.

Metal on stone, and with it a trail of flames that matched the creature's mouth. It lifts a heavy tail and starts to breathe out. Flames dance across the field, catching most of the party by surprise. Each see some damage, but it is halted dead by the sharp inclusion of a shield. Slamming against the beast's teeth and causing the front pair to cave inward, he follows with a blast from his hammer. "Everyone alright!?" Griswold barks to a cacophony of replies assuring him of such, A large and yet dwarfed hand grabbing the large jaw and slamming it shut. This thing's head was easily the size of his entire body, and yet even still he was attempting to put it in a headlock, he was nothing if not persistent. "Good, then help me kill this fucking thing before it gets the chance to do that again!" as the ripples on his arms become engorged trying to keep its gullet shut.

Gaius barks with that same shit eating grin he loved to present, and one could swear they could see his teeth glimmer. Griswold pays him a scowl, and he cannot help but reciprocate back, "What, worked didn't it?" Griswold lets some fire slip before clutching back on, "Your late!" he yells over heavy panting as the color makes him light up. Ripping the weapon out of the creature's face, a spray of red data as he leans low. Holding on for dear life, trying to keep this thing busy for long enough for it to be slain. Gaius leans low, "When I get up there, it's time to show you what I can do, yeah? Think you can get this fucker up?" A nod from the smith, and the Dragoon leaps with enough force to make the thing shrink a bit as its neck as used as a diving board.

Razzled and frazzled from unexpected fire, catching her and the rest of the party off guard. "That's just perfect, what is going on?" Trying to yell from the object, she'd rushed behind to avoid most of the damage. A glance up to the top of her screen, it looked as though everyone had taken a bit of damage. "I'm fine!" She shouts toward Griswold, watching on as he minces words with that buffoon. But strangely both nod. She doesn't even have enough time to acknowledge it before she can feel this creeping cold. A shiver rushes down her spine, and as she scans the field, her eyes lock on Setsuna. She'd seen this only one time before, and it happened in third lessons. Setsuna had taken damage. An easy to distinguish feeling in her gut, matched the intense cyan glow ripe on that girl's face. "Oh no." Simmone looks to the dragon with a look of shock. "You fucked up."

Keen In Effect

Right past Setsuna her attention kind of catches before she shakes her head, the girl had swapped from companion to hunter in an instant. This was going to get real ugly, Kasumi worked with her and knew what this meant. Into the fray, allowing the damage she'd taken to fall from her mind. "I'm fine." Her foot connects after an abrupt pivot, seeing more of the creature's scales shatter like glass and fall away. She'd keep working away at it and keep everyone operating at full capacity. As she turns and starts to disengage, she can see Griswold's grip slipping. Just a little more, just have to hang in there for a little while longer. In that brief instant, a sinister cold makes her skin burn. Her opening had been used, the reduction in this thing's armor had been used to brutal efficiency. Setsuna was creeping death, and this was its proof.

The burns on her face painted red cuts upon, covering her hands as they slink near her blade. As if someone had struck a match, the girl's iris engulf in energy akin to that of floor 4. The weapon peeks out of its scabbard, revealing a supercharged blade. Billowing fog, mixed with anger that was usually saved for a special kind of foe. Kasumi screams past, her feet clacking as she does. The world twists into a long hallway, everything muffled and condensed. Her feet slide apart, right hand hovering that blade. Some believed, others did not, in the ghost of the tundra. The last thing you'd never see, but only the ones that have truly experienced it could be counted on a single set of fingers.

One step, and she is gone, becoming nothing more than fog. One single defining line sporadically darts as the stone flash freezes as if someone was pouring liquid nitrogen from an invisible bottle. The Matriarch was resisting, fighting against her constraints. Above Griswold's massive hands, and a few blows from Kasumi see her health decrease. A cyan line slides right through a wing and a spine without any resistance, like a wisp that ignores the confines of reality. The Dragon screams in agony as its eyes dilate. The wing becomes glass as it hits the ground like a rock, shattering to a million cascading pebbles that bounce away. A gruesome expunge of data that made up its flesh in a violent spray, becoming frozen solid. It's health plummets and with it, a brand new sense of desperation.

A rimesworn blade, smoking frost, with the faintest traces of data still stuck to that grim letter. Slowly returning to its saya, past a pair of eyes with the intent to kill that made ones stomach crawl.

The random discharge of ice sees Celeste perk up an eyeball. "What the hell." The woman stops as she looks past that field of randomly produced sleet, and catches the ass end of Setsuna completely shredding this thing with deadly effect. "Holy shit." The woman remarks with this whole new realm of possibility, eyes wide as she's stuck in a bit of stupor. "The fuck Freyd, is everyone in this fucking guild absolutely insane!?" Jesus Christ, she looks at the creature's health bar over its head, and the massive damage just peels off in an instant. "The hell are you all eating?" The woman was trying to justify it in some way, there was no god-damned way they were on this much of different levels, were they? Shaking her head, and looking at her own hands. Maybe this guild shit wasn't half bad, sure as hell made her job a whole hell of a lot easier.

Recovers 8 HP via BH

The dragon was growing desperate, trying it's damned to keep itself alive. His skin smoldering cast him in a bit of a gleam with the newfound cold being melted. It slips its bounds and breathes flame out again, ripping its head up and even catching Gaius in that blast. "Enough of that shit." Griswold drops his head into the beast, decking a second time for good measure. Then the unthinkable: Griswold makes a move for the tail. A howl into the sky "Better be ready boy, it's now or never!" Grabbing onto that shit like a massive tree trunk, the muscles in his frame start to yell back and plead for him to stop. But, the guy was strong, that was what all this stature was for. What follows is a nearly couple ton bag of numbers, scales and teeth with just the slightest bit of fire starter sprinkled on for good measure suddenly ending up airborne. A few pivots and a release, sending a wounded lizard with one working wing, shot putted up toward an awaiting dragoon. He wanted to show off, let's see if his talk wasn't bigger.

Tail Swipe: When rolling MD 9-10, the Matriarch will use its tail as a whip to attack all the party, dealing 120 unmitigatable damage and lower everyone’s energy by 10.
Piercing Gaze: On a CD 10+, the boss will paralyze the player with the lowest hate for a turn before attacking normally. This skill cannot activate alongside <<Tail Swipe>> or <<Hellfire>>.
Vicious Stomp: In the case of a CD 6-9 and LD 10+, the Matriarch will stomp the ground, lowering the entire party’s EVA by 1 for two turns. This effect does not stacked and any further activations will refresh its duration.
Preparation: Every four turns, the boss will attack the player with the highest hate for 100 DMG before flying up in the air, preparing to bombard the players with fire on its next turn. 
Hellfire: After staying in <<Preparation>> for a turn uninterrupted, the boss will breathe out fire on the players, dealing 300 unmitigatable DMG and applying 24 Burn DMG for the next two turns.
Bring Down The House: If the Matriarch is still in <<Preparation>>, players can deal 750 DMG to it to knock it out of the sky. Doing so will prevent it from using <<Hellfire>> and deal an additional 250 unmitigatable DMG to it.

anime-explosion.gifLike a ball on a string, that thing just starts spinning and gets tossed. "Yeah, wait for it." Gaius barks out, his polearm riding the space just to the right of his head. The winds begin, and without warning, the usually forever charging skill fully finishes in a blink of an eye. Beneath his breath, he murmurs, "Why didn't you do this last time?" Winding back, as that weapon glows so bright that it vanishes within that lime green glow. His frame peels back, his left arm drawing out in front of him in reverse. Dragon was moving toward him at surprising speeds, man, that guy was stronger than he let on. And he let on that he was strong as shit. "Here goes nothing!" Gaius yells out as his hands exchange and his body weight shifts. Releasing the handle, sees a sonic boom with enough power that it actually causes him to gain some height.

Rings form as it burns a trail through the air, these fleeting white circles as it breaks the barriers of sound. Instantly, as if all hell breaks loose, it connects with that vaulted lizard. Finding a space in its chest, it discharges like a grenade. That green color quickly shifts to a just a mess of hues, the blast forming a sphere of energy all bottled up. The blast sends players below sliding just from the sheer explosion. Once it finally fades, all that remains is Gaius slowly descending with a grin and everyone with a very loud ringing in their ears. Well, that, and some raining bits of dragon of different sizes.
