Though she had decided to take some time away from questing, given her experience with Calming the Soul, here she was back maybe a little too early for her own liking. There was only a limited amount of time before they finished the game even if it could take years. As sad as it sounds she's not sure she's ready to go back yet, not until she has her fill of the sights.

Sam waited at the the guild hall for Acanthus to be ready. Today they were just investigating a rumor related to the next boss fight that could give them a hint to what they might face. Given that these fights are fight or die, it could be invaluable for everyone in the frontlines. She paced around aimlessly with her cat following around her legs trying to calm her anxiety down but it clearly wasn't working well at all.

Firefly had beaten Acanthus to the guild headquarters; probably by a sizeable margin, given her frenetic pacing. "I'm sorry to have made you wait. I was much more punctual in reality." Something about living in a video game had dulled her sense of time. And perhaps a few other senses, if she was being honest with herself.

"We're heading down to Floor 8, right? Something about flowers?" Acanthus had uncharacteristically skipped her review of the rumor, another sense dulled by the passage of time. It's not like it matters anyways. This rumor wouldn't offer anything the two of them couldn't kill. They had slain a quest boss on the twenty-something-th floor recently; what's the worst Floor 8 could offer?

A few months ago, the thought of a flower-themed investigation would have elated her. Acanthus would have prepared; she would have visited the floors to dig up leads, study the flora to discern themes in the designs, and anything else she could justify as legwork. Floor 8 was one of the prettier floors, and time spent there used to feel like time well-spent.

"Let's get down there and get this explored. I don't see how some flowers on Floor 8 will be a useful lead in any capacity, but at least it won't take us long. I've got some more work to do at the guild headquarters afterwards." Acanthus pulled open her map and dropped a few pins. "Looks like we'll teleport down to Ellesmera and head north. The Graveyard should be right there. Does that sound good to you?"

She realized a little too late that she had launched directly into business without so much as greeting. (Yet another sense dulled by the game.) "I'm sorry. That was rude of me. How have you been? I hope things have been going well since we fought Ki'Raion. You can tell me all about it while we head down to the graveyard.”
