They quivered and trembled, and offered him the only movement his body could summon. His mind had already processed what had taken place, but comprehension took a moment longer to catch up. Somewhere in the background, he heard an anguished voice cry out. Perhaps it was Aeternum's. In his daze, it'd sounded closer to a television playing over in the next room than it did to a real live cry of distress. Since his very first day in Aincrad, he'd accepted the reality of this game he found himself in. In the back of his mind, he'd known that this game was a deadly one- that it was a twisted, fatal game. But the deaths had never been quite so close; they'd always been far off and almost abstract, like the murders one might hear about in the news and shake their head at, only to carry on with their day in the minutes that followed. Even when news of Zarryn's death had come, he hadn't been there to see it. Nobody had. It wasn't like this. Only X's reckless impulsiveness spurred him back to life, and knocked him out of his stupor. From the corner of his eye, he spotted his guild mate and his canine companion storming off into the forest. Azide whipped himself around and took off after the brazen boy. As he weaved through the trees and undergrowth, his hand sliced at the air as he pulled up the SAO virtual interface. He would have to send a few more messages before this was over. It seemed that gathering wasn't her forte after all, taking a look behind she sees Oikawa doing almost the same thing. "Hey you can stop searching now, I think we're..." she then suddenly stopped, hearing noises in the branches above. With her hand instinctively on her rapier's hilt she relax a little when she saw Maruchan jumping from a branch to another. "Hey isn't that?..." she hadn't finished her sentence for the second time as she saw X hurriedly following his companion. Usually she would think they're up to no good, but something about the look on X's face troubled her. Before she could get his attention he leaped over them and disappeared, only to be followed by Azide on food: "What's going on here??" she asked as she unconsciously jumped in the trees and started tracking X and Maruchan's movements through the trees. Something had definitely happened, leaving X aside the dread on Azide's face told her all that she needed: "Lead the way guys, IDK what happened but things look serious. C'mon Oikawa! don't fall behind." Kimba was already ahead of them following Maruchan's movements from the ground the moment he passed by then. Link to post Share on other sites
