Some people are lucky to live an easy life. They may even say their life is "boring" or has no purpose. To Alex, those who live a life like that are privileged. As you could probably guess, her life did not play out this way. 

Alexandria Mekhal grew up in a pretty nasty part of town on the Eastern side of the United States. Just outside of New York to be exact. Throughout most of her life, Alex was raised by her father.. for her mother passed away a couple years after she was born. Some form of cancer... she doesn't remember. She was too young to remember and never really asked her dad about it. He put her through whatever school he could get her into. It may not have been the best school in the city, not even close in that matter, but she got the education she needed to get along in life. After that she managed to get into high school, with a scholarship even. Alex never found herself to be much of a girly-girl like all of the others in her high school. For those at the school she was attending, this was a little abnormal. Alex was teased and even bullied by both guys and girls in her school.. but that did not drag her down. She managed to keep her head up high.

Alex's father tried to give her the best life she could have, and in her eyes, he succeeded. To Alex, her father was everything to her. That was, until she lost him as well. It was not anywhere near the time her mother died.. no.. it was quite awhile later. Alex was already 15 when she was called out of class during school one morning. She will never forget what they told her when she got to the office. Her father crashed his car on his way to work, the impact killing him instantly. This is when Alex's life changed. She was placed under foster care, yet still attending the same school. Her grades were not as exceptional as they once were, and she did less and less to support herself from being bullied.

Alex's trust for others grew less and less over the years. The point of no return, of course, was after one terrible day with someone she thought she could call a friend. It was late into her junior year of high school, making her a couple months shy of 18. If there was one person who Alex felt she could rely on as a friend, it was a boy named Oli. He was always a bit kind to Alex, and was always there for her whenever she needed a shoulder to cry on. That friendship lasted for awhile, until that one day. Out of the blue, Oli asked Alex to hang out with him. Being his friend, Alex accepted. Little did she know what he had in store for her at his house. With just a little drug slipped into a simple cup of soda, Alex was out cold. One does not need much of an imagination to know what happened to her next. And after that day, Alex's trust for others was gone.. especially in guys.

After graduating high school, Alex did not bother trying to get into college. She would not have been able to afford it herself, despite being left with her father's savings. So she managed to get a small part time job somewhere to help keep an income, and purchased a small apartment in the next town over from where she grew up. Alex was not sure what to do with her life at this moment, and she needed something to distract her. After a couple of years of living on her own, she heard of a game coming out.. known as "Sword Art Online" which used a virtual reality headset to place you in another world. She figured this could be her distraction.. a home away from the madness. Alex signed up for the game right away.

The day the game came out, Alex made sure she was one of the first in line at the local game store to pick it up. She had not been this excited for something in awhile. After finally getting into the store and picking up her copy of the game, she hurried home. Sadly, she missed the bus.. but the walk was not that bad, so she decided to do that. While walking home, Alex was confronted by a hooded man, who pulled a knife out on her. Trying not to get herself killed, Alex gave up the game to the mugger. Feeling defeated with tears in her eyes, Alex knew that she could not let this opportunity for something to take her mind off of the horrors of this world.. So she ran all the way back to the store where she picked up SAO. After a long conversation with the store's manager.. explaining what happened and begging for help, the man decided to pull some strings and give her another copy of the game. The all so grateful Alex safely made her way home, where she soon would learn that her distraction form a terrifying world, would become even more horrifying than she could imagine. 

 

-Virtues-

>> Strong-Willed: Going through all she did in the real world and everything she did to fight with it, Alex's determination and drive are very strong. She will always make sure that no one gets in her way, despite whether they want to help or not. 

>> Heroic: Alex will always stand up and fight against anyone who puts down another. Being bullied for years of her life, Alex was always was afraid of getting hurt and used to merely let it not bother her. However, in the world of SAO, Alex feels much more confident and stronger, so she feels that she must make up for what she lacked in the past. 

>> Straight Forward: One does not need to beat around the bush with Alex, nor does she do the same. She will almost always tell it how it is to someone, whether it be good or bad. And if you have something you need to tell her, you'd better get straight to the point, especially if she finds you annoying. 

>>Kind Hearted: Knowing she needs to show a strong attitude towards others, this is usually something that Alex keeps to herself. However,  she really does have a kind heart and it shows during certain times when people have earned it. She also always appreciates what people do for her, despite whether or not she shows it or not. 

 

-Flaws-

 

>> Ill-Tempered: Being her life was not all sunshines and rainbows, Alex does not take very kindly to some people. This does not mean she cannot make friends or actually be nice to people. But most of the time, it may take a lot to get there. She can be very foul towards people that push her the wrong way. 

>> Emotional: Though it would take a lot of trust to get her to admit it.. Alex is a very emotional girl. Sometimes, all of the horrible things that have happened to her rush back into her mind, causing her to break down. This could either lash out in sadness or anger, depending on the situation. Usually, when with others, her angry side will lash out. It is only when she is alone or feeling vulnerable that she may break down in tears in front of someone. 

>> Reluctant: Most of the time, Alex could be quite reluctant to help others. Since no one was ever there for her in her life, why should she be there for them. This is a different story for when she feels someone being taken advantage of needs a hand. Other than that, however, she tend's to keep out of other people's business. She may be one to open up to assisting friends however. This also goes with asking for help as well.

>> Scared: Under Jevi's hard willed facade and attitude, she is terrified of what is to come in her adventures in Aincrad. She will avoid admitting it, and avoids combat as much as possible to avoid dying. Despite liking the world SAO has to give much more than her own home in the real world, she does not want to make this game her grave.
