The creatures elongated dagger like teeth scraped and grated across Alec's shield like nails across a chalk board. Alec retaliated by bring his Mithril Battle Axe up over his shoulder and slamming it down on the top of the Mimic's Treasure Chest lid of a head chopping a chunk free of the creature that flew off and shattered into brown pixels as it hit the ground. Alec adjusted his footing, bent his knees and brought his shield back up in front of him to protect himself from the Mimic's next attack. He also raised his axe up over his shoulder and held it there ready to swing down on the Mimic when it attacked again. Alec shoved his shield forward and blocked the large mouth as it kept popping open and closed again. With his axe already poised above his shoulder Alec swung it down at the Mimic but its constant opening and closing of its mouth threw off Alec's some and as he swung he missed the creature and swung wide. Sleeve brought his shield back as he took a breath and withdrew his axe setting himself for another attempt. Alec brought his shield up again and blocked the creatures attack with the face of his shield angled at the Mimic. Its long dagger like teeth again scratched and scraped off the metal of Alec's shield with an ear splitting screech of bone scraping against metal. His Mithril Battle Axe poised over his shoulder to strike Alec swung down but the monsters constant lurching and lunging caused him to miss his mark and his axe swing went wide. As Alec reset his shield the Mimic lunged for him again massive mouth gaping wide and reaching for him. Alec waited and when he saw his opening he swung his axe down at the Mimic again. At the same time Alec grinned fiercely at creature as his shield began to hum and then SNAP it expelled a charge of static electricity into the Mimic's closed mouth causing it to pop open as if spring loaded. Alec then hefted his axe up high and slammed it down on the Mimic as forcefully as he could chopping a large chunk away from it and causing his shield to begin humming again this time deeper before CRACK it burst with another charge of static electricity this one paralyzing the Mimic as it jerked and jolted from the shock. Alec stepped into the attack and thrust his Shield forward at the Mimic and jammed his shield into its mouth letting it slammed shut on his forearm puncturing more holes from its oversized teeth. As the Mimic's mouth slammed shut on his arm Alec's shield began to to hum then SNAP it electrocuted the Mimic with a jolt of static electricity causing it to open his mouth. Alec took the pause to raise his Mithril Battle Axe into the air and slammed it down onto the Mimic his began to hum again, this time deeper before CRACK it burst a larger charge that Paralyzed the Mimic. Aleve took the chance if the Mimic being Paralyzed to draw on the energy to power a Sword Art. The energy flooded through him and into his axe causing to vibrate and glow until Alec put all of his will and resolve behind the swing ad he swing his axe down onto the Mimic. The energy built up within his axe causing it to vibrate and glow. When the energy peaked Alec swung his axe down but he released the energy too soon and it flew away into the air harmlessly causing Alec to miss with his swing. As the Mimic recovered from its paralysis Alec raised his shield and prepared for it to attack again as he took several calming breaths to slow his heart beat and calm himself. Alec calmed himself and slowed his heart beat as he brought his Shield of the Thunderhearts up before him in defense and raised his Mithril Battle Axe preparing to swing at the Mimic when the chance presented itself. As the Mimic bit down on Alec's arm his shield began to hum again then SNAP it burst with a stored charge if static electricity that shocked the Mimic popping it's mouth open. Alec then swung his axe down and buried the head of his axe deeply into the Mimic hacking away a large chunk as his shield began its deep low hum that ended with a CRACK as it burst again with another charge of static electricity that seized up the Mimic Paralyzing it. While his arm and shield were inside the Mimic's mouth his shield began to hum and SNAP it burst with a static electric charge stored within it causing the Mimic to open its mouth expelling Alec's arm and shield. Alec took the pause to sink his Mithril Battle Axe's head deep into the mimic as his shield began a deep low hum that ended with a CRACK jolting the Mimic with a large burst that Paralyzed it. Alec slowly took several deep breaths as the Mimic was Paralyzed calling out to Humphrey. "Hey pal I'm feeling a little banged up here. Would mind helping me out please?" As Alec felt the healing warmth flow through his body he drew on his resolve and will and grasped on to the energy to power a Sword Art as the power glowed through him into his axe. When the power reached its peak Alec took aim and swung his axe down at the Mimic. When the energy peaked Alec swung his axe straight down and buried the head of his axe derp into the top of the Mimic chopping a huge chunk out of its lid/head. The chunk tumbled end over end and shattered into tiny brown pixels when it collided with the ground. Alec pulled his axe free and brought his shield back up in front of himself as the Mimic began to regain control of itself and lurched at Alec razor sharp teeth bared and mouth opened wide. Alec brought his axe back prepared to strike at his first opportunity. As the Mimic bit down Alec raised his Mithril Battle Axe and swung it down into the lid of the Treasure Chest and chopped out a large chunk that expelled brown pixels. Unfortunately it did not activate this time and Aleve received a new batch of teeth holes in his arm and shoulder for the effort. As the Mimic sat holding Alec's shield still in its mouth Alec raised his Mithril Battle Axe up in the air but and slammed it down on the top of the Mimic again hacking off another chunk of its lid. When the Mimic released its grip on Alec's arm he retracted his shield and brought it up before him in a defensive stance and raised his Mithril Battle Axe and prepared to swing when the Mimic attacked again and Alec saw his opening. As his arm and shield lay in the monsters mouth Alec felt his shield begin him till SNAP it surged a static electric charge into the Mimic's mouth forcing it to open and release his arm. As that happened Alec seeing down with his Mithril Battle Axe but the sudden shift threw him off balance and he missed his swing. He quickly brought his shield back up in front of him and hefted his axe up and readied himself to swing at the Mimic the moment it left an opening for Alec to strike. As it opened its mouth to bite down on Alec he seeing his shield around placed it in the way angling its teeth away as they screeched across the metal surface of his shield. Alec retaliated by swinging his axe down but his feet weren't set properly and he slipped slightly causing his swing to miss the Mimic and go wide. Alec stopped and steadied his breathing with a few slow deep breaths as he brought his Shield of the Thunderhearts up in front if him glancing at the inscription engraved on the back stilling himself as he prepared for the Mimic's next attack and positioned his Mithril Battle Axe to strike back when the opportunity arose. The Mimic lunged forward snapping and chomping but Alec slid his shield in the way of the monsters teeth and blocked the attack easily as he drew his Mithril Battle Axe up over his shoulder and swung it down connecting with the Mimic's lid hacking another piece away that toppled and flew finally shattering as it struck the ground. Alec brought his Shield back up before him and readied himself for the Mimic's next attack as he moved his axe to his shoulder to ready it for another swing at the Mimic when it left him an opening. As Alec waited he called over to Humphrey "Hey pal mind throwing me a little help again friend?" Spoiler Roll: 114844 MD: 10 (Critical + 2) 48 + 2 Crit = 50 DMG - 40 MIT = 10 DMG (Crit Hit - No Thorns) BD: 5 + 2 ACC - 1 Dark = 6 (Success) 5 DMG CD: 6 (+ 1 EN Regenerated) As the Mimic lunged forward Alec stepped into the attack attempting to block the Mimic's bite with his shield but his footing wasn't sure and the Mimic chomped down on Alec's side and punched numerous holes in his rib cage. Alec lifted his axe from his shoulder and swung down on the top if the Mimic and sunk his axe head into the top of the Mimic hacking away yet another chunk that exploded into brown pixels. As Alec pulled his axe head free of the Mimic he felt the warm tingle of Humphrey's healing energy running through his body and fixing many if the holes pierced through his body. As the Mimic chomped down Alec thrust his arm forward feeding it to the mimic in the hopes that his Shield would activate. The Mimic slammed it's dagger like teeth down in Alec's arm again left more puncture wounds there. Alec raised his Mithril Battle Axe up over his shoulder in response and swung it down plunging its mirror finished head into the Mimic's top chopping away another chunk. Slow and steady Alec thought that's how he'd beat it. Alec brought his shield from the Mimic's mouth and raised his axe to strike. Alec took a step forward to deliver a powerful strike at the Mimic but when he planted his lead foot his ankle turned on a loose rock and he tumbled to the side landing flat in the ground dangerously close to the Mimic's gaping mouth and gigantic teeth. Alec scrambled away and hurriedly got his feet back under him. Alec stepped forward and pressed his shield at the Mimic as it continued to bite. Alec's shield blocked the huge teeth of the Mimic and they scraped off the metal surface of the shield with an ear splitting screech. Aleve stepped forward to swing his axe down but set his foot on a loose rock and stumbled falling to the ground. He quickly scrambled up to his feet and brought his shield back in front if him ready to block the Mimic's next attack as he held his Mithril Battle Axe poised and ready to strike when he saw his opening. As the Mimic lurched forward Alec angled his shield again and pressed it forward deflecting the huge teeth away with the front if his shield. Alec stepped forward again to deliver another powerful swing at the Mimic but again he placed his foot on the same stupid loose rock and found himself again tumbling to the ground to lay prone right in front of the Mimic. Alec rolled to the side to gain done distance from the creature before he stood up slapping at the dust on him as he readied his shield and hefted his axe taking a few derp calming breaths as the Mimic lunged at him again mouth clapping shut loudly. Alec maneuvered his shield into the way blocking the Mimic and its elongated teeth as the scraped across Alec's shield screeching in protest. The Mimic chomped again but Alec positioned his shield and diverted the Mimic's teeth away from himself harmlessly as they scraped off his metal shield squealing as they drug across it. Alec brought his Mithril Battle Axe up and swung it down at the Mimic plunging his axe head into the top of the Mimic cutting another chink from it and slowly dropping its hit points again. Alec took a calming breath and brought his shield up and prepared to defend himself from the Mimic's next attack as he raised his Mithril Battle Axe to the sky and called on the energies that powered Sword Arts and Aleve felt it course through him and into his mirror finished axe as it began to tremble and glow as the power increased within his weapon. When the energy reached its peak and howled and swing his glowing vibrating weapon down at the Mimic aiming for one deadly precise strike. As the monsters huge teeth sunk into the flesh of his arm Alec's shield began to hum till SNAP it expelled a stored up charge of static electricity I to the Mimic's mouth causing it to release Alec's arm as he thrust his Mithril Battle Axe to the sky and pulled the energy for s Sword Art through himself and into his weapon. When its trembling and glow reached its peak Alec swung his axe down in a powerful precise struck and released the energy had the Mimic had a head Alec very nearly would have taken it off. When the Mimic attacked Alec angled his shield and pressed it at the Mimic aiming to block its constant biting and snapping. Instead the Mimic engulfed Alec's arm and shield whole inside its mouth piercing his atm again with more large teeth holes. As the Mimic bit down Alec's shield began to hum then SNAP it jolted the Mimic with a stored up charge of static electricity that caused the Mimic to release Alec's arm from it's mouth. Alec raised his Mithril Battle Axe and drew the energy through him and into his weapon charge his axe. When the energy peaked Alec swung his axe down and put a huge crack in the Mimic's body that vented a giant stream of brown pixels. Alec brought his shield back before him and prepared for the Mimic to strike again as he held his axe ready to strike back. Alec then raised his Mithril Battle Axe over his shoulder and swung down burying its mirror polished head into the top of the creature opening another cut that released more brown pixels as it health bar dropped further into the red and began flashing. When the Mimic lunged in Alec thrust his shield forward and angled it to the side blocking the Mimic’s oversized teeth and knocking it to the side and away from him. At the same time Alec raised his Mithril Battle Axe into the air and swung it down in a wide smooth arc aimed for the top corner of the Mimic. At the same time Alec looked over his shoulder at Humphrey. "Humphrey, think you could throw a little more healing my way my friend? I'll make sure and buy you the large steak tonight for dinner." Alec offered as he felt the warm tingling glow of Humphrey's healing energy wash over him and infuse his body. As it did Alec's shield began to hum and then SNAP it arced a stored charge of static electricity into the Mimic causing it release and roar of pain as it began to shake and contort before finally exploding into a shower of brown pixels that floated to the ground before finally disappearing into nothing. Alec breathed a contented sigh as the stepped forward to inspect the items he saw laying on the ground. Alec 0 Posted April 16, 2019 Author #57 Report Share Posted April 16, 2019 (edited) Alec reached down and picked up the pile of loose Col and the Unidentified Trinket and placed them in his inventory with his other items before turning around and smiling at Humphrey and the small child still riding on his back. “So.” Alec began in his deep rumbling voice. “Who’s ready to get the heck out of this stupid ole dark stinky cave and head home?” Alec boomed cheerfully. “Oh! I am!” the small child exclaimed excitedly as she thrust her hand in the air for emphasis as she nearly bounced off Humphrey’s back in her excitement grabbing back onto handfuls of his fur and righting herself in the process. Alec let out a low peel of laughter as he back to lead the pair out of the cave and back into the pine tree forest outside. The group made their way safely through the forest and back to the edge of the crater that housed the town of Urbus on the Second Floor. Alec 0 Posted April 16, 2019 Author #58 Report Share Posted April 16, 2019 (edited) Alec made his way down the craters edge following the hard packed dirt trail that had been worn down by numerous sets of feet and rutted by countless wheels from carts and wagons. Alec left Humphrey and his passenger down the trail as she kicked her feet happily while she rode atop the shoulders of the black bear cub. Alec led the pair through main gate and into the town if Urbus. When Alec passed through the gate he stopped inside the courtyard and began his usual ritual. He reached out and with a quick downward swipe he opened his inventory and scrolled through the items within eyeing them appreciatively. He stopped when he got to the pile of Unidentified items. He'd really need to find a Merchant to identify those for him at some point he thought to himself. Alec continued to scroll till he found his list of equipped items and stopped looking at the three items there. Alec 0 Posted April 16, 2019 Author #59 Report Share Posted April 16, 2019 (edited) As Alec stopped his scrolling through the items in his inventory he stopped and looked at his three equipped items before he reached out and tapped the icon that represented his Mithril Battle Axe and as he unequipped it the axe began to shimmer and waver before it disappeared into nothing. Next he reached his finger out and tapped the icon that stood for his Shield of the Thunderhearts and watched as it too began to shimmer and waver reading the inscription engraved on the back one more time before it too disappeared. "When the tides rise, become the storm." Alec said quietly in his deep baritone voice. Finally he reached out and tapped the icon for his Adamantine Pauldron and unequipped his Heavy Armor. He watched as the dark green ultra dense armor shoulder guards shimmered and wavered also disappearing into nothing. With that done Alec looked down at himself and saw his normal brown pants with his sturdy and worn brown leather boots and finally his best skin wrap covering his shoulders, chest and back. With that done Alec closed his inventory and looked over to the small child. "What do you say we go find your Mom?" Alec asked in his deep baritone voice. The child looked up and smiled at him as she visibly bounced up and down on Humphrey's shoulders. "Yes please Mister Alec!" she exclaimed excitedly. Alec continued to smile as he nodded and set off leading the pair through the streets of Urbus back in the direction if the open air market where he had met the distraught woman and picked up the quest. When he arrived at the edge of the market Alec quickly spotted her sitting in the last place he had left her as she sat wringing her hands as she stared at the ground. As Alec approached she looked up from the ground and as she caught sight of Alec approaching she quickly rose to her feet a pleading look over taking her expression. "Please Sir tell me you've found my child?!?" she pleaded of him. Alec merely smiled and took a step to the side opening up the mother's view if her child happily sitting atop The bear cubs shoulders. When the child caught sight of her mother she quickly slid off the bear cubs back and ran over arms out stretched and exclaimed "Momma!!" The mother rushed forward wrapping her child in get arms hugging her happily as she looked up to Alec "Thank you so much Sir! Please accept this as thanks for saving my child!" the woman exclaimed as she shoved Col at Alec and ushered her child away fussing over her the whole time. Alec nodded and mumbled his thanks as she disappeared into the crowd. Only then did Alec look down and see how much she had given him.
