  1. "My name is Scyom" He said pointing his thumb to his chest, his mood slightly uplifted after realizing he wasn't going to be killed. "Now that we are formally introduced, how about we head over to the grinding area?" He said pointing to a cave far towards the edge of the map, "I've been there before and its filled with iron holding skeleton." He took out his sword and took a good hard look at it, "And the sooner the better because this starter gear is really holding me back" he gave the sword a good swing and awaited Haine's response.

  2. Scyom thought for a moment before replying, "Well...I could really use an extra hand getting some mats for my blacksmithing, i was heading there now before ya now...yeah" Scyom scratched his head a little embarrassed for the girl, he understood it was an accident and was happy that he wasn't killed in the process. Plus now he had a new partner to help out in the tedious act of farming trash for mats.

  3. As Scyom was walking through the open area he heard foot steps coming from his right side and before he could turn to see what was causing it a sword was pressed up against his throat. Sycom froze from fear looking down at the blade and then looked into the eyes of his potential reaper but the player lowered her sword as soon as she made eye contact with him and as she muttered a few words he stayed frozen in place still stunned from the previous occurrence. After taking a step back after the shock began to wear off he grumbled, "Is there a reason why i was almost decapitated just then." before taking a slightly less vulnerable position.

  4. After exiting an inn he had been staying at for the night Scyom gave out a big yawn and stretched his arms high into the air. "I'm finally a blacksmith." he said with a smile, "but i certainly don't look like it." he muttered as he looked down at his average light metal armor and starter weapon. He looked around for a moment thinking about what he should do first "Well if i want to make my own gear i better get the materials for it first." He took a look at his map and located a nice cave that would probably hold quite a few metal holding mobs and headed in its direction.

  5. "Okay, i just have to calm myself down, being like this will only break my consentration." he took a deep breath and moved to the window. He looked over to the plaza where people were still at high spirits, if they can be hapy in such a horrible situation then i can definatly forge this sword he moved back from the window and to the forge. He picked up the hammer and closed his eyes for a moment, he could feel his heart in his chest. He consentrated on it for a few moments and abruptly opened his eyes to see his smithing hammer was glowing a deep red color he shouted, "I got it!" right as he spoke he raised the hammer and brought it down right in the middle of the steel bar, his movements became faster and more accurate than they were before. He made a perfect point and quickly smoothed it over before moving on to the two cutting edges, which he also finished with great speed and accuracy. The resulting sword that took shape was both strong and durrable. He picked up the blade and felt the smooth even weight and balanced it on his finger. "Its perfect, i mean its still only a good class sword but its edge and durrability aren't half bad." He said to Echo, very happy with his first successful peice of blacksmithing work.

  6. "Thanks for the encouragement." Scyom forced a smile and looked down at the hammer. He looked at it for a few moments before bringing it up in the air. He brought it down on the steel with great force and formed a good edge. He smoothed over the edge with some smaller hits, and turned to the point. He wedged it into a rough point and smoothed it over just like the other edge. "Man this is harder than it looks" Scyom said jokingly to no one in particular. He concentrated very hard on getting the edges right trying very hard to get it right. Sadly because he took so long on the left edge the blade cooled before he could complete it. "Damn it!" Scyom said angrily "Whenever i try and concentrate on the edges the metal cools but when i quickly go over it the blade ends up dull or brittle" Griswold put a hand on Scyom's shoulder "You must forge with your heart, your ignoring that and because of that reason no matter what you do your blades will always come out incorrect." Scyom looked up angry "Why are you speaking in riddles? What does that mean?" Scyom had stood up at this point and dropped the hammer. Still cool and collected Griswold said "I cannot teach you that part, that is something you must learn on your own."

  7. "Thats weird..." Scyom opened his quest log. "What? it says i haven't completed the quest yet." Scyom looked around confused by the situation. Moments later Griswold opened his back room door holding up two halves of a broken sword. "What happened to it?" Scyom said, eyes widened from the surprise. "You didn't temper the steel while you were hammering it, this caused good stats for the blade but the durability on it was close to 0." Embarrassed by his shoddy work Scyom put down another set of iron bars this time Griswold stayed by to supervise his work.

  8. Scyom raised his head from his work, "Thanks Echo" he said with a grin. "I just cant get these damn points right on the straight sword. Whenever i try i miss and end up with a cleaver." Scyom moved his gaze back to his work and took the first swing on a new piece of steel. This time starting from the top point down through to the cutting edges. He took few quick swings at the point, once he was satisfied with the shape he moved on to the cutting edge. I got this... as he took the last swing there was a bright light before his work was revealed. The result was a straight sword with an even point to edge ratio. He picked up the sword and looked at his clear reflection in the steel. "Yes! I got it" Scyom turned back to echo before Griswold came to inspect his work.

  9. "See ya" he said waving a hand but not breaking his eye contact with Griswold. He watched Griswold work on the steel ingot and forge it into a sword. "Thats awesome!" Scyom exclaimed pumping his fist into the air. "Now come over to the forge its best you practice in order to learn the craft" Scyom immediately followed with a "Yes sir" and moved over to the forge. Griswold placed another set of iron bars on the anvil and handed Scyom the hammer "In order to forge a weapon you first have to choose what kind you're trying to create." Scyom nodded in reply and turned his attention on the anvil, a window opened and allowed him to choose what type of weapon he wanted, he selected a one handed straight sword as he guessed it would be the easiest to form and waited for Griswold's next instruction. "Now that you have selected the type you have to forge it, hitting the metal along the edge will form the slashing edge, While hitting the top end will effect how good it is at thrusting attacks" Scyom absorbed as much of what Griswold was saying and turned back to the metal. He gave the hammer a few good swings along the edge but missed while attempting to make the point. It was of good quality but could only be used for slashing attacks. "Not bad for a first forge"

  10. "Nice to see you again Griswold." Scyom waved at him with a friendly smile. "I was looking for a master for blacksmithing seeing how i just got the <> Quest." He took a good look at Griswold's forge and all the weapons and armor hanging around his walls He certainly is a master blacksmith, maybe i can learn something from him. "Well" Griswold said, pausing to take a swing of his hammer upon a red hot iron bar "you've come to the right place" A look of excitement overwhelmed Scyom's face, even in the real world blacksmithing had always interested him.

  11. "First things first i gotta get the mats for blacksmithing." He said walking towards the other side of the court yard. He had to get to the nearest cave and kill some of the skeletons in order to get Iron Chunks. As he walked along the walls of the court yard towards the exit he was looking for another player bumped into him and sent him off balance "Hey!" he said before falling and slamming his head on a near by step fairly close to another player. "Could of gotten me killed..." he said under his breath while rubbing the back of his head.

  12. Its been a few weeks sense this horrible death game began, and Scyom had been hard at work killing and looting all the mobs he could within the starter area. As he walked down an ally way he found the usual quest board and took a look at what was listed. One of the quests caught his attention, it was different from the other quests he had seen that consisted of killing mobs and searching for items. "<>? I can make my own items?" he said confused that there was a game mechanic he hadn't discovered yet. He assumed that because of the class limitations in the game that they also wouldn't include things like crafting, but he was clearly wrong.

After choosing the blacksmiths portion he quickly accepting the quest, he then continued down the ally way into the open court yard and took in the smell of fresh air perfectly simulated by the game engine. He took a look around at all the people, some of which were even smiling, and grinned.

  13. After a bit of searching Scyom found the exit from the caves which lead him to the road that lead back to The Town of Beginnings. "Yes! im finally out of that skeleton infested hole!" he said triumphantly arms raised. "Now I just gotta find my way back and ill be golden." after finding pretty fast root back to the town he teleported himself to the 3rd floor where he once again found the blacksmiths cabin. He opened the door to the cabin and yelled, "I got the mats! Time for the armor old timer." which he soon came to regret as Griswold smacked him in the hit with his smithing hammer. "Old Timer! I ought to beat you to a pulp for saying something like that!" Scyom quickly replied in a frantic voice, "Im sorry im sorry! i was just exited and i tend to blurt things out when that happens." Scyom scratched the back of his head nervously with a grin on his face. Griswold then grabbed the iron chunks Scyom was handing him and gave him a good long glare before returning to his forge.

The words QUEST COMPLETE! appeared in big letters in front of Scyom he quickly went to his inventory and equipped his new light metal armor. It shined brightly as it appeared in place of his old blue starter rags.

  14. Scyom sent one last hale marry of an attack up the skeleton king's back this stunned him long enough to do a combo chain. Scyom slashed left, right, left, right and ended by stabbing the skeleton king straight through its head. The skeleton king dropped to the floor and exploded just like the others into thousands of tiny triangles of color. "ha...its almost pretty" Scyom said sarcastically before dropping to his knees from exhaustion. Congratulations! popped in front of his face showing that he had defeated the mini boss of the caves.

As it charged, Scyom was still distracted by the skeletons strange reaction to his last attack and as a result only had time to block causing half damage which was followed again by another quick attack. He managed to dodge it before another attack came in to quick and he was forced to block again. Scyom leaped right in an attempt to escape but the skeleton mirrored his move and continued to attack. "If this continues im not going to be able to keep up this dodging" in a last desperate attempt he slid under the skeleton king's legs and got behind him.

  16. Scyom one of the skeleton king's heavier attacks which put it at a delay between this one and the next attack. Scyom reacted quickly and stabbed it directly in the side and ripped upwards using the momentum of the blade moving up to leap backwards out of danger. The skeleton king stopped for a moment and looked over and Scyom and spoke some lost language which Scyom didn't understand before charging once again.

Not used to the skeleton king's attack pattern assuming it would attack as soon as he landed Scyom Leaped to the left. This left him wide open for the skeleton king to make a direct hit with its hammer. This sent Scyom flying towards a wall where he landed head first. Scyom looked on as his health bar dropped yet another point. He got up as fast as he could and saw that the skeleton king had disappeared in the dust cloud of him crashing. He ran to the center of the area when he heard something above him. He saw the skeleton king dropping down from the sealing with its shield in a crushing downward position, "He's fast!" Scyom said as he just barley dodged the incoming attacks.

  18. As it stood up its health bar appeared revealing it had over double the health of the skeletons before it. This struck fear into the deepest part of Scyom's Being. The fear was just about the overtake him when an image of his mother flashed into view for no more only a moment. Scyom tightened his grip around his sword and his smirk returned to his face. He bent his knees, put his right foot back, and put his sword at the ready. Just as he assumed the position the skeleton gave out an enormously loud roar. Mid Roar Scyom interrupted it by stabbing it right in the jaw. His eyes met with the red glow of the skeleton king's and it reacted with a quick swipe of its arm. Scyom leaped off and landed a few feet away re-assuming his battle position.

  19. Scyom's enemy was still in the air from his deflection and he saw the perfect opportunity. He ran so that he was directly under his enemy and jumped with all his might. He pushed his sword's point directly above his head. It split right thought its spine but that wasn't enough for Scyom. He ripped the blade up through its body up through to its head. He then continued to slash the demolished body of the skeleton until it landed on the ground and exploded into a thousand little shards of color. Scyom's mouth formed a shallow smirk before turning into a face of horror as he turned around and looked at the huge skeleton that stood up and took out a hammer and shield.
