Aio

Aio enjoyed his meal; before he went to bed he decided to go out for a walk. It was fairly dark now, only a small glitter of orange could be seen at the horizon but the sun was long past under it. An easterly breeze blew right on his face and as he counted the vast number of stars in the sky.

As he walked around the old town, he noticed two people standing in the distance but the other one suddenly dissapered as he blinked. "Woah, that was weird." He decided to go investigate. He noticed that the person standing alone now was a girl. But he couldn't see her face well. "Hey are you alright? It's getting really dark now wouldn't you want a place to stay? "

Aio was happy he had been given a warming hospitality at this small cottage. Although he wanted to stay and enjoy the warmth of the fire along with the lovely singing of this pretty girl, he decided he didn't want to make it seem like he was taking advantage. "Hey, thanks a lot for your kindness and hospitality but I guess I have to go now; after all I'm not an actual customer but thanks again for being so nice. " He stummered a little trying to make the words in his mouth, it was difficult since he'd rather stay than leave. He looked away from the girl; he didn't want to see her face if she was disappointed in him. "I... I'm sorry I wasn't a customer. "

The sky was a bright orange-red colour now with a bit of dark blue trying to dominate the sky. The sun became less blinding and very relaxing to watch as it hid under the horizon of the desert dunes. Aio felt a bit lonely to be venturing alone. He'd always have this feeling when he realized an empty seat or spot right next to him.

"I hope you enjoyed your tea sir, now what would you like for dinner. I'd recommend the sunset special which comes with grilled steak, crinkle cut beetroot, carrot soup with macaroni and pumpkin. " The young NPC waitress asked. "Mmm I'll have that please. " Aio replied. " Okay, that would be 50col, your meal will be brought to you soon. "

As Aio waited for his meal, he continued to look outside, staring at the sun; we looked like an orange bubble hill.

It had been a while since someone had been this nice to Aio; usually he'd be avoided or shouted at by a grumpy old NPC man. "Thank you miss..., I'd love to hear you sing." He realised he didn't ask what her name was. She sang so wonderfully, and he enjoyed it. He ate his dumpling, enjoying the taste, he felt more relaxed and at home. He didn't feel the cold any more.

Aio got hungry waiting for the girl to come back as he watched the fire. "I hope she comes back soon, i really need to go buy some food." The door suddenly opened and a cold breeze rushed in. Aio tightened the blanket more around him and shivered a little. He smelt a good aroma of food in there. "Umm, sir do you want some dumplings." He looked up and slowly grabed a dumpling. "Thanks a lot, i was really getting hungry." He wanted to say something more, but he slowly turned away and ate his dumpling with a delightful look on his face.

Still being a little shy, Aio accepted the blanket and the tea while he avoided looking at her. "Thank you miss, i really appreciate. I'll make sure ill take care of you're little cottage shop." He watched her walk out. and then went to sit near the fireplace. "I hope she doesn't take too long."

When the girl came up to greet him, he took a glimpse at her face and realised how cute she was. When she stared into his eyes he immediately looked away. He scratched his head being a little shy to talk. "Oh umm, I'm sorry I didn't know this was a shop. I was actually finding some place warm in this cold." Aio paused for a moment wandering what to say next. " umm I hope you don't mind if I stay a while. "

Aio decided to visit Floor Four to take a look at the ice lake he'd heard other players talking about. A sudden snow storm erupted, making him feel more cold and to take refuge in a small cottage. "Sorry for the intrusion. " It was quiet so he took a walk around the cottage searching if someone was inside.

As time went on, Aio continued waiting for another player. It was almost dusk now but he still hadn't seen any. He opened his interface to check how many players were on the fifth floor; there was just one by the name Shizuka Ohno Hara.

"Where could you be? " Aio wondered. He decided he'd have to activate the quest mission the next day since he didn't want to start in the dark. He then strolled into a local cafe called 'Olde Windebug', which sounded too medieval for his taste but he went in anyway.

As he sat down at the very corner, a young waitress NPC walked up to him. "Good Evening Sir, what can I get you. " "I'd like to have vanilla Cappuccino please. Oh and do you rent rooms for the night? " Aio replied.

"I'll bring your cappuccino soon, and yes we do a have a single room for two players to rent. At the moment it is currently vacant and will cost 50col per player. Anything else that you'll want? "

"Id like to have some supper later on but right now my cappuccino will do."

The waitress served him his cappuccino and he sat there staring at the sunset through a small dusty window while sipping his delicious cappuccino. Somehow he found himself wondering where the other player was.

The NPC that shouted at him earlier came out of his home to take a jog. When he came back he noticed Aio sleeping once again on his roof.

"That boy never listens. He's a good chap though. " The old NPC went into his house to get a blanket and he covered Aio with it. " There much better. "

Aio, though half asleep, realising what he did whispered a Thank you and comfortably when back to sleep.

He began to count the stars, wandering if there were just as many as in the real world. His slowly began to close and he began to drift away into sleep once again.

The night was cold and he was shivering but he had no choice but to get used to it.

Aio yawned and decided to call it a day. He which he could spend the night and a friend but he didn't have any at the moment.

He drank some hot water and went back to sleep on the well thatched roof of the NPC.

He opened his hud and took a closer look at the holographic projection feature. He needed to get more details.

"Hmm, that's quite a small but helpful advantage. I wonder if I could use it. Though I must look for someone who can install it to my hud."

On his way back to town he decided to collect any fruit or vegetables he spotted on the way.

He managed to get 4 more assorted ingredients for cooking and 50 col extra. He was so happy his day went rather well despite the bad things that happened.

Dust came out of the cave like a gust of wind as the exit became blocked with many rocks. After some time it all disappeared into pixels and it looked like nothing had actually happened.

Aio peered into the cave. There was no cry for help, no slimy squishy sound, nothing. The cave seemed empty. "I'm so tired. I want to find a place to rest now. "

As he came to the last turn, nothing happened but he could tell it was booby trapped looking at the tiny holes in the wall. "Maybe poison darts fly out when the trap is triggered; I don't want to find out though. "

A pop up message appeared in front of Aio. 'Holographic Projection feature acquired. Warning: All lower cave levels will be destroyed then reset within ten seconds of this message' "Wait... thats like. .."

The cave began to shake and rubble fell to the ground. "Oh no, Bane is in there." With not time left to warn or help Bane, Aio ran for the bright light that was in front of him. As he approached the exit, in the distance he could here a cry of pain. A tear ran down Aio's eye. "I'm sorry Bane, I would've saved you if I had enough time, even though you were a player killer. "

Aio took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "Alright little fox you can do this, search.... and detect! " Aio's skill showed the path he should take through the maze.

Aio safely crossed the first turn. Along the walls he could see huge iron blades that could fall anytime and cut him. "I shouldve stayed in the safe zone throughout the whole game till someone completes the last floor. This is crazy."

As Aio came across the second turn, the walls beside him began move towards him. They were going to crush him if he didn't act fast. He quickly leaped at the last moment and safely landed on the ground. Aio stood back up and continued walking, he wanted to get over with it soon.

Next, the floor beneath him began to collapse. This time he reacted quickly and managed to get to safety before the whole floor went down into a spiky pit. "Such a pokey death hihi." He joked.

His body was dragged to a much cooler room by a mysterious looking figure. He chained Aio's hand on the wall and began to sharpen his dagger with a rock.

The sharp sound of rock grinding against the dagger woke Aio up. He looked at his hand, realising it was chained. "Wh..where am I?" He accessed his inventory to obtain a teleportation crystal.

"That don't work here kid." Aio quickly turned his head towards the dark corner that he heard the voice come from. The grinding sound stopped. He heard a stone dropping to the ground, then he saw a figure step out of the darkness. "The names' Bane. I'm a player killer, and I kill worthless brats like you. Ooo don't hurt the slimes they look so cute. You make me sick. " Bane walked up to Aio and poked his dagger by his heart. "I'm not going to just kil you yet. You have a decision to make; ever heard of holographic projection? Well, my mind is set on getting myself one of those. It adds a feature to your hud that you can use to make a hologram of yourself during combat, therefore distracting the enemy. "

Aio stared at the deranged look in his face. "What makes you think I won't take it for myself? "

Bane slid his dagger along Aio's chest. "Because if you try that, then I'm gonna hunt you for the rest of your life and kill you. Now stop your stalling; get in that room and solve the maze. " Bane unlocked Aio's chain and pushed him into a room, sealing the entrance with a large boulder. "I'm giving you ten minutes. "

When Aio entered the cave he felt the hot and arid air that welcomed him; it was really different from the cool and breezy climate he had experienced earlier on.

As he continued to walk more deeper into the cave, the air became hotter and it felt like he was in a sauna. It was getting difficult to concentrate as the hot air made him become sleepy.

He slowly began to lay down on the floor and drift away in sleep, unaware of the dangers that befall him.

Aio giggled seeing a high leveled player get tired but they did go through a lot. Although he wanted to spend more time in the cave, he figured he needed a time for a break and relaxation. "Thank you again Celesmeh for helping me out. Hope you could help me out again, though next time I hope it would be challenging for you. "

He smiled and began to walk out the cave. "It was nice meeting you again Celesmeh, can we be friends?" As they exited the cave, it was almost dusk. He looked at Celes and raised his hand to shake hers.

Aio searched side by side with Celesmeh trying to get more ingredients. He failed a couple of times but then successfully obtained 2 assorted ingredients along with 150col. "Here Celes you can have the whole 150col, to thank you for helping me out. "

He kept search again and found 4 assorted ingredients and 100col. "Hey im getting lucky. Gathering materials sure is fun."

Aio looked up to see a spider sneaking up behind Celesmeh. It was no ordinary spider, it was really big. "Look out Celes!" Aio jumped in the air and struck the spider on the head. The spider shot some sticky web towards Aio but it's trap failed.

Aio tried to strike the spider again but it dodged the attack and jumped in the air. As it fell down it shot its web again and caught Aio. Just as it was about to land on him Aio struggled raising his sword up. It pierced the spider straight in the abdomen but it managed to claw Aio before it pixilated.

"Phew that was really scary, I almost became spider food. But I guess you would have saved me before that ever happened." He let out a little chuckle as in he lay down on the floor and began removing strands of web on him." Hey could you help remove some of this web its really sticky. "

"Thanks Celes; you're really helping me out a lot. Yea I could make some tasty food with this root vegetable and thanks again for sharing your col with me. I really much appreciate it. " Aio kept on trying his luck at gathering materials.

His Search & Detect skill was really coming in handy this time, he was able to get 2 assorted ingredients with 100col. " Here Celes, you can have 50col hihi. Oh could you lend me a health potion id like to fight another bat again. "

(Is it okay to use assorted ingredients then decide what they are for one time use in cooking? Or do I have to specify? )

"Sadly, I haven't got any so far; I guess I just have bad luck, my life is also below half I might not survive another bat attack if I was alone. I'm glad you're here."

Aio walked over to a stone on the ground. "It seems easy when you to but I'll give it a try." Aio picked up the stone. ID:3004 loot:3

"See, all bad luck. " Aio kicked the stone away in disappointment. Tht floor beneath him began to crack and he fell right through the hole that opened. He'd fallen deeper into an even more darker cave. He looked at his HP to see if he didn't lose any health. "Phew, at least I'm ok."

When he got up, he felt the ground shake. A shiny glitter came out; he stuck out his tongue to taste it. "Ooo tasty, special ingredient yay!"

FLOOR 5: CEPHADROME DESERT

The sand dunes were shaped like the waves of a sea; but frozen in their raised state. Aio could spot a disturbance further near the peak of the horizon. Dust was raging like a sandstorm out of control. He squinted his eyes to realise that something was causing the dust. Although it was hot, a chill ran down his spine as he recalled rumours about the ghosts of the desert.

"They ain't ghosts kid; ghosts don't haunt deserts." Aio turned his head around to see a middle aged man dressed in rugged old western clothing. "They are the fish of the desert; every fishermen's nightmare. " Aio just turned back to look at the desert again; not understanding what he meant.

When he wanted to ask the strange man a question, he turned around to find him gone and no where in site. Aio kept looking around, confused how he would've disappeared so quickly. The sound of the background music he wasn't paying attention to earlier, grew louder in his mind, intimidating him to go for a challenge in the desert. "This;is going to be interesting. "

Aio continued to explore the sage zone of Floor 5 to enter the city of Fortitude. There he met a strange looking NPC wrapped and her identity concealed by a dark black cloak. Sjee whispered over to Aio and a quest menu popped up in his hud afyer she had explained that her buried goods needed to be recovered within two days. Aio accepted the quest but was afraid he wouldn't make the trip without a partner. He looked around; he could only see NPC's. It was no surprise to him since those scary rumors and the harsh weather conditions drive everyone off this floor. Was there anyone who could join him on this thrilling but dangerous quest?
