  1. Anima smiled as the Lion approached her hand. She responded by stretching out until its nose touched her hand. "Hey now kitty. Nice Kitty." She said softly as she stretched out to touch the top of its head. She patted gently before running her fingers down its back towards its tail. As she did she moved closer, falling onto her knees casually while she stroked the cubs soft fur. "I used to have a kitty, back home." She started still petting the animals fur. It was amazing how life like it actually felt. To be fair though she had never pet a lion before, but she was sure this is what they felt like. "She was a good kitty too, like you." She gave it one more quick pet, and ended with a gentle scratch behind the ears before standing up.

Ariel had gotten into a discussion with Niklaus about the player that he had been looking for. Ariel apparently was in her guild, and had seen her recently. Certainly this would provide him with some assistance in finding his lost sister, as he called her. It was strange to think that siblings could be diving at the same time and trapped here. But there were stranger things. Still now she wondered if this man would need assistance in finding the girl in question or if he would venture on his own now. "What do you intend to do sir?"

  2. This was actually going to happen. Anima was actually going to party up with Nikki Styx for a quest. But to add to the thrill, Nikki had said that she was needed on the front lines, or rather that Alchemists were needed, but in her fan girl moment that's not what she actually heard. Either way Nikki had said she was ready to go and that's all Anima needed. "Ok, Lets do this" She said excitedly as she began walking to wards the gate With Nikki.

    1 HR Later

It had taken the pair an hour to arrive at their location. Turns out the wasps were a considerable distance away from the city. In that Time Anima had asked Nikki literally hundreds of questions about the front lines. Nikki had answered them all graciously. It had been a great conversation that did well to increase Anima's desire to get to the front. She had even asked Nikki to take her along, to which she had received a brisk and sympathetic no. While that had been disappointing she understood the reasoning behind it.

As the pair got further out the sound of buzzing could be heard all around them. Anima had been about to ask Nikki if that was the wasps they were looking for when she looked over and saw a herb growing from the grass, not far from her. "Gimme a second" She said while she ran over to it. Anima crouched down behind it, scooping the Material up and adding it to her inventory.

  3. It took Anima a moment to realize what Nikki was talking about, and when she did she blushed and let out a small giggle. "Nope, I know I'm not wearing pants." She said taking a step back and spinning on the spot so that her coat flew up and allowed everyone to see her legs and rear. "I do this for attention. Or rather, I want to be a famous alchemist, so If I make a name for myself now, people will remember me later. And besides sex sells." Her smile widened as said her piece. It had been her strategy to use her bare legs as advertising for herself. Meanwhile though there was still the matter of the quest at hand. Nikki had asked about it, or rather expressed confusion in why she needed help, so Anima was going to explain. Before she did though she opened up her menu and sent Nikki a party request. This in itself was an exciting moment for her, she had always wanted to group up with the front liners, and hardcore players, but she had never guessed she would be doing it so soon.

A moment later Nikki had accepted the request, and Anima was able to see her stats. "Level 19"  She wasn't so high up there. Yet she was an acknowledged front liner, and easily the thickest tank in Aincrad. It was proff that with the right dedication one can achieve alot. Many players were higher level than her, and many of them would sooner jump off the side of Aincrad than risk crossing the river. That was something she had heard about. Supposedly the meanest PKer in the game had angered her, and she had beaten him to within in an inch of his life with her bare hands, before handing him a set of coins and telling him he crossed the river. She got chills just thinking of it. This woman was her hero.

"Well, I'm only level 4, and I want to complete the quest Long Live the Queen. I just don't think I can do it on my own."

  4. Anima looked over as she heard the woman call out to her. The voice had come from a blue haired female who carried a spear and shield. She looked to be armored out quite well. It took her a moment to realize who this woman actually was, but when she did she gasped. "N-Nikki Styx?!" She half asked half yelled at the tank. Anima had heard of this woman before, read about her, and seen her picture. This was Nikki "The River" Styx. She was Aincrads strongest tank, and was a known face on the front lines. This woman was a celebrity to the lower levels. One of the rumors that Anima had heard came from a person who knew someone who was on the front lines when they encountered the floor 8 boss. They had said that Nikki challenged it alone and it couldn't hurt her at all. Some people said she had found away to be become indestructible.

After a second or two Anima realized that she was staring with her mouth open like some starstruck fan girl. "I'm sorry, Please yes I would Love your help." She said while bowing her head in respect to the other player. She looked up while still bowed over half expecting to see the other girl passing by on her way to talk to someone else, but no, she was still here looking at her. Anima straightened out, extending a shaking hand to the bluenette. "My name is Anima." She said gently trying to keep her glee under control.

  5. Anima was searching through the quest board again looking for something to do that would grant her a chance to earn a few extra materials or skill points. She had decided that the best way to catch up to her counterparts on the front lines was to quest and do odd jobs. The XP's were more and the general game play experience would be helpful. One quest in particular had stood out. Its reward promised a rare poison that allowed an increase to a players damage. Such things were hard to find and worth getting whenever one could. With that in mind she clicked accept on the quest and watched as her map appeared in front of her showing her the way point to her now current quest. All she needed now was another player to assist her in this matter. Not so much because it was difficult, but because she wasn't too dumb to do this on her own.

She knew that right now at this time of day the best way to get assistance was simply to ask. Many players were here because they had nothing else better to do. She smiled now knowing that with her style of dress she would certainly be able to seduce someone into coming along with her easily. "Alright, time to get started" She thought as she began approaching strangers for help.

  6. Anima listened to the Ariels words carefully. She had not wanted to cause anymore offense than was needed, however she had stronger opinions still on those weaker players who challenged superior foes, or simply made ridiculous choices. Those who didn't take the life and death aspect of this game seriously were better off perishing. This was part of the reason why she had no fear of the Lion in the safe, zone, she knew the rules of the game and took them seriously. Still she held her tongue sensing that this was a sensitive topic for the other woman. Ariel them produced a gift for each of them, herself and Nicklaus. This was unexpected and surprising as she had never expected players to simply share what they had without a prompt. In her experience people often just asked her for things, and when she denied them they would act like they were entitled to her items or col. This was different though.

She took her time admiring the craftsmanship of the red gloves, Lust as their item name read. They were stunning to receive. She wasted no time in equipping them, They looked great, and felt wonderful. She could tell right away they had advanced effects and quickly opened her menu to explore what they would do. Life steal. Her mouth hung open as she read through the stats, while not an item that was legendary, it was certainly an improvement over everything she had, furthermore it was something that worked well with her current plans. "Thank you... They are lovely." She said still in awe over the generosity of this player. Certainly an act like this required something on her part, and while she had nothing to give she could show an appreciation for the girls opinions. Anima crouched down holding out a hand towards the Lion. "I suppose it... She is more than what I may have guessed. I still have much to learn."

Ariel had started talking to Nicklaus now about the girl in question, It turned out she was his sister. Of course his words of her potentially being as special as him, were a slight irritation to her. She was far more interesting than him, hell she didn't wear pants. How much more interesting can you get? Needless to say she held her tongue again, putting her focus on trying to coax the Lion over to her.

  7. It was a beautiful day to be out and about. The young alchemist known as Anima was preparing to take full advantage of this day and power her way through another quest. She had made her way to the quest board, a giant place in the center of town, that allowed players to accept general quests that were available to all players. This was a great place to search for jobs and even guilds. She approached the board raising her finger and tracing it over the various quests looking for something that seemed to fit.

She looked over and caught sight of a man looking at her. This was not out of the normal, not for her s her style of dress often garnered her attention from men. What was unique was how this one held his stare even after she looked back at him. Most looked away and pretended to have not seen her, but he did not flinch. She tried for a moment to pretend herself to not see him, looking only out of the corner of her eyes, to see if maybe he would approach her. He never did, instead he held his place. Was he waiting for someone or something to happen? On the board in front of her read a couple of quests, but one caught her attention rather sharply. Secret Medicine of the Forest. She liked the sound of that, and given that she was an alchemist it seemed right up her alley. She read on still keeping her eye on the staring man. The quest required her to find a rare material used in potions. Little Nepents Ovule. She had read about it, and how it could be used to make cure all's. naturally she wanted to find it, or at least as many as she could.

A moment later and she had accepted the quest. Anima turned her gaze back to her spectator now, and saw that he had been joined by another male, and they were both looking at her. By this point the joke had run its course and she was not having it any more. She took a deep breath and marched towards the pair rather swiftly. "Can I help you boys with something, or were you just looking?" She said rather flatly as she neared them.

  8. Anima took a deep breath as she entered into the shop. She needed to have a coat made, and rumors indicated that this was one of the best places to go for such things. Inside the shop had several items up for sale, both functional and Vanity. Items ranging from exquisite coats to simple bandannas. Anima even spotted the  white lion known as Kimba sitting neatly by a fireplace. If anything this proved that she was in the right place.

She approached the counter and smiled politely waiting to be helped. She took her time now to fill out an order form that was sitting on the counter, as well as to produce her method of payments.

Item: Coat of the Battle Medic
    Item type: Light Armor Coat
    Quality: Perfect
    Enhancement: +1 Evasion, +2 Thorns

Description : A simple white coat that drapes down to the floor. It is accented with a deep red fur, that lines the entire inside of the coat, as well as the hood and sleeves. The coat itself is both warm and sturdy providing protection from the cold and attackers. It is also lined with several sharp pins that allow the user to hand back damage when attacked.
    Payment: 5x Mats, 400 Col

She sighed as she scooped the last of her Col, and the last of her materials onto the counter. It was ll she had left in the world, and she hoped it would be enough.

  9. Anima looked shocked as Kosan returned so quickly with her items. He presented them to her and for a moment all she could do was stare with her mouth open. He truly was an exceptional black smith to have done this so quickly. She eyed the pieces before taking them. The mace was superb, beautiful, and surprisingly light in her grasp. She swung it in her free hand back and forth admiring its sturdy feel. It was beautiful. Next came the boots. She took her time putting them on, pulling them slowly up her slender legs. They were white, and so smooth and tight one could almost not even tell that they were armor at all. They fit snugly, and with them she could feel the improvements to herself occur. It was wonderful. She put on the gloves in a similar fashion, slowly pulling them up over her once bare arms. Again, it took a trained eye to see that they were in fact armor.

"Sir, I have no doubt in my mind that you are the greatest smith in all of Aincrad." She said happily bouncing over to him. She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, before turning to leave his shop. "My name is Anima." She said turning around at the door. "I promise I will see you again when I need more work done." And with that she was gone.

  10. Now that she had earned her materials, it was time to get some gear. She had decided that getting armor was the way to go, and that weapons were going to be useless to her. Luckily there was a fantastic armorer that had come highly recommended. His name was Kosan. So far he had become one of the most successful smiths in the game, and that's what she wanted for her armor.

The Young woman stood outside his shop a moment, The Molten Blades it was called, making sure she had everything figured out. She needed gear that acted in a very specific way, and there was no room for mistakes now. Once satisfied she pushed open the door and entered the foundry. She smiled as she looked around seeing the walls covered in weapons and gear that had been crafted, all of it was exquisite. She truly had come to the right place.

"Hello?" She called out looking for the smith in question. "Mr. Kosan? I have a job for you." She said as she neared the counter placing three small item request forms on its surface. She took a moment pulling up her inventory and accessing a few items, materials in particular, pulling them out and placing them on the counter too. "I'll pay in advance for it if you'd like?" She said as a small chest with 8 crafting materials was placed on the counter next to the requests.

  11. Thank you very much for your help. I realize that I should not have said GM only as there are many people who do have the right answers. I should have simply stated that I was looking for just the actual answer and no guessing. So I thank you very much for taking the time to get me that info when you did not have to. It has been so incredibly helpful. In the future I'll make sure to choose my wordings a little better.

  13. Anima smiled as Ariel's tone suggested agitation at calling the familiar "that". To her this in itself was fairly entertaining a notion. A familiar after all was not real, they were like an NPC, consisting of nothing more than bits of code or Data. They were nothing but 1's and 0's. This made them in her eyes no different from any other item in the game. They were disposable, interchangeable, and easily replaceable. However she was aware that some player would create odd bonds with their pets. She could tell that this girl was one of those players, and given that she was not interested in getting into a fight she decided to choose her next words carefully. "I only refer to it as that as it is just code, and will simply cease to exist once we complete the game. I meant no offense, I suppose My thinking is just off center from yourself." Despite her sincerity her words still came out harsh and almost mean sounding. She had not wanted to cause further offense in this matter.

The statement that the animal did not like her was of little concern to her personally. However she was not about to allow this encounter to become unpleasant, or hostile. "I am a little rough on the edges, but once someone has taken the time to get to know me, they usually find me alot more agreeable." She smiled politely as she looked back between the pair of players and the Lion. "Perhaps I have just started out on the wrong foot." Her smile lingered as she waited for a response from the others while holding out a hand for the lion to smell.

  14. As before Anima listened to the answers the other girls gave. Like before they both had well thought out answers that she would have to work to trump. The question had been simple, what do you do for fun? Honestly Anima had not considered to much around here fun. After all she was locked in a game where she could die at any moment. That was at least her thought's on things until recently. Now, well she still hadn't managed to do much. She made potions, explored outside the city walls, but not too much else. The first girl, mentioned a guild designed to teach players. A novel concept really. In her own mind if a player hadn't figured it out by now, there was no point wasting time on them, after all, even she had managed to figure out a system after months of inactivity. There was also a mention of running a business within Aincrad. That was a better answer in her own mind, it was doing something positive that better enhanced the game for everyone.

The second woman gave a response that was similar to the first. Assisting inexperienced players learn the game. It was strange to think that so many players wanted to help one another and yet here we were still losing players everyday to ridiculous things. She gave a little sigh as her own turn came up. "To be honest, I spent alot of time tucked away in the beginning."  She looked down at her feet now as she spoke, choosing her words carefully. "It took me a while to actually get going. I've missed alot. But, The thing I like to do now is spend my time playing every aspect that this game has to offer. I love to explore the maps, to wander the cities, to fight the Mobs, and play the game for what it is." She smiled now looking back up as she finished speaking.

  15. So I was wondering. In Alchemy we have the good, uncommon, rare and perfect levels for crafted items. What are Examples of these levels in healing potions?

    For example.

    Good Potion = 5HP Potion

    Uncommon Potion= 7HP Potion

    Rare Potion= 10HP Potion

    Perfect Potion= 12HP Potion

I understand with the enchanting slots, but in an item that offers no enchanting slots, but apparently can be effected by the rolls how do we measure it's level of success? Or are all Healing potions the exact same, regardless of the dice roll?

GM's Only please, I'd like a straight answer not guesses. (I Don't mean to sound rude but I've seen how these things go off topic.)

  16. Anima had a few choice words to say to the person who had gotten in her way. It was bad enough that she had to push through these crowds, but now she had strangers standing in her paths. She looked up at the man and prepared to let him have it. She would have too, if not for the stranger speaking first. He introduced himself, rather politely, and asked her name. He also mentioned some dream about conquering this place. She almost chuckled if not for the interuption of another woman and her cat.

The new woman was confident and kind, a rare mix for this place. It took a moment but Anima quickly realized that the cat companion was a lion. Other players seemed intimidated by it butshe knew better. For starters the animal was clearly a familiar as it was in a safe zone. Secondly it was no danger because she was in a safe zone and a player couldn't die here. There was no reason to worry right now.

Anima smirked at her fortune in meeting two very colorful characters. "My name is Anima. Just Anima." She spoke pleasantly giving a little curtsy as she spoke."I'm afraid I don't know many other players."She started while flashing a grin. "But, I can assure you that I am more interesting than the one your looking for." She teased. She turned to look at Ariel now. "It's nice to meet you. You'll have to tell me how you got that." She said gesturing to the lion

  17. Anima had just finished her first quest and was taking an opportunity to relax a bit before starting up her next one. She was now an alchemist, and well on her way to being the best. Of course in a game like this she needed to make sure everyone knew she was the best, otherwise it wouldn't mean anything.

The crowds had grown thick, both NPC's and players alike swarmed the streets looking to buy and sell their respective wares. Anima wanted nothing ti do with the hustle and bustle of the crowd. This meant that rather than enjoy her accomplishment she would need to fight to get to a quieter more relaxing place. She cursed loudly as she pressed herself through a tight group of people. Without warning the entire group seemed to move apart at once and Anima fell through, stumbling into the open before crashing hard into another player.

  18. As she approached the door to the shop she heard the NPC call out to her. Anima stopped a moment and turned on the spot looking at the kindly woman.

"You have done well. Here take these to help you on your journey."

A moment later and she received a notification stating that she had gotten a new item. She clicked on the notification, and in her inventory appeared the basic supplies needed to be an alchemist. Common Mortar and pistil. Well this was a good start. Her smile grew and she bowed to the woman, thanking her for her time, and use of the shop. Yes it had been an NPC, and yes her words washed over it with no meaning, but it made Anima feel better just for saying it. The NPC gave her one last wave and Anime turned to leave the shop. Her next task was to set up one of her own, and start work on her master plan. Lord knows she would need to also start mass farming her supplies in order to gain an advantage over the existing alchemists of the game. Still it was a challenge she would gladly accept. She left the shop feeling infinity more confident, soon she would be on the front lines, and soon she would be a globally recognized player.

  19. Anima proceeded to the table again, suddenly feeling much better, as the poisons effects finally wore off. She smiled, taking a deep breath, and stretching out, something she had been too cramped to do while under the plants effects. She wanted to try one more time to make a potion, her odds were good, and she just felt like she could make something worth while, not that she could use it. She cast a wayward glance back to the NPC, knowing that it would scoop up whatever she made the moment she did. It sure would be nice when this was done so that she could make her own potions. With that thought in mind she began working again.

10078 Craft Dice 5. Loot Dice 16. Nothing made, Herb found, No Heal

The young girls smile quickly faded as the potion she was working on began to sizzle and pop loudly. Moments later the NPC swooped over and scooped the flask from her hand, examining it like she had done earlier. This time however she frowned and tossed it over her shoulder.

"No, No, No. That simply wont do. I can't sell that. Do you want to try again?"

Anima only laughed giving her head a shake as she decided maybe working here was not the best place for her. She took a step away from the table and it seemed to power down just as suddenly as it had burst to life earlier. It was funny how these things works. She smiled at the NPC and gave a little bow, before turning to leave. As she did she noticed a small potted plant growing in the corner of the room. For a moment she wondered if this was a lootable item, and approached it to see. Like several of the other Items she had found it asked if she wanted to add it to her inventory, to which she clicked yes. She made a note to change her loot settings to auto loot.

  20. Anima turned back to the crafting station and pulled up the menu again. Just like before the option to use the shop materials was there and she clicked on it, producing a single green herb. Also just like before she began work on a new potion. While she was trying to replicate her results from before, she was also looking to try something different and hopefully get a new potion all together.

9924 Loot Dice 16. Craft Dice 1. Herb found, Craft fail, No Heal

As Anima worked a loud hiss rang out from the Vial in her hand. It seemed she had mixed the wrong components and they were having a negative reaction. Before she could do anything else the Vial exploded loudly and violently sending her to the ground in a grand fashion, while shards of glass pelted the walls. Smoke filled the room, clouding her vision and staining her skin, clothes and the very room. She coughed hard, still feeling the effects of her ailment, now combined with the smoke inhalation. The NPC seemed un phased by the explosion and continued sweeping, now actually having a mess to clean up. It was then that Anima noticed something strange, under the table was a single uprooted plant. It was an odd sight but she wasted no time in snatching up the herb. Sure enough it added to her inventory. Someone must have dropped it while working here earlier, "Oh well, there loss". She thought with a smile getting back up.

  21. Anima made her way over to the crafting station located at the rear of the shop. She clutched at her stomach, like she had been stabbed, for the pain was still quite bad. Meanwhile the shop owner NPC busied herself sweeping up the already clean floor. Clearly she was just on a simple program loop. Anima ignored her however as she raised her free hand to activate the shop table. Instantly it sprang to life as nearby vials began to bubble, Burners ignited, and a flask began to smoke. Despite her discomfort this sight actually made her chuckle, as it reminded her of so many games where otherwise lifeless objects would begin to move and interact the moment a player got near. Once she had settled down a bit, Anima set to work on making her first potion.

9898 Craft Dice 9. Potion Made

Anima pulled open her menu's and noticed something was different. Where her inventory was there existed now a second option. It was Alchemist tutorial. When she clicked it a single item appeared, next to the option, Green Sword Leaf x 99. She stared at the item for a moment, marveling at the number of materials available for the tutorial. In her entire day she had only managed to find a 4 herbs, and yet here were 99. It caused her to smile with envy at the systems unlimited supply of goods. Finally once the shock settled she began her work, pulling an item from the supply, Which didn't seem to drop the number at all, and setting out putting it to use. She mixed the Herb with with the various liquids until a puff of green smoke erupted from her vial. This caused the shop keeper to end her cleaning cycle and come over to her, snatching up the potion and looking at it in the light. After several seconds of awkward waiting, the NPC smiled and the potion disappeared.

"Very good, I'll be able to sell that. Would you like to try again?"

The NPC didn't wait for a reply but rather walked off and began sweeping again. At that point an icon appeared for Anima to click on. She hesitated, before finally clicking it. A message appeared indicating that she had completed the quest. It listed her as an Alchemist, and indicated how she could go about opening a shop of her own. She smiled at the message, and closed it down noticing that a title appeared under her name. It read "Alchemist". She had done it, she had completed the task for which she set out. Still It couldn't hurt to get a little more practice, so she decided to try again at the potion station.

  22. 9874 Loot Dice 16. Craft Dice 2. Herb found, No heal

Anima still felt terrible due to the poison's effects, despite the relief she had received from the water. But it was a given that she would continue to suffer after ingesting an unknown plant. The trick now was getting back to the potion shop and finishing the quest. She had to make a potion now on top of everything else. She shook her head wondering if any body else had gone through the same thing while completing this quest. She let out another groan as she got up onto her feet. It was then she spotted something. A Plant growing next to a nearby building. It was hidden in the shadow of the house, and barely noticeable. She laughed at her luck as she struggled over to it.

As she had suspected it was a simple green leafed herb, a Green Sword Leaf. It was a common herb, that could be used in many potions, so it was nothing too special. Still, a mat was a mat and she would use all the mats she could get now. Anima scooped up the herb adding it to her inventory, before proceeding on. Luckily she wasn't far off of her quest marker and soon found herself back at the shops entry. With a great deal of effort she pulled herself through the shops door, and slumped against an inside wall. The NPC shop keeper came by and immediately started a dialogue.

"Oh, I see you have gone out and learned about the Herbs of our world. Why Don't you help me make a potion before you go? I will give you the supplies, and You can Give me the finished product."

Anima sighed as she pulled herself onto her feet. Clearly the NPC was not programmed to notice the negative effects of poison.
