Calrex had missed his shot at the boar, it's health was one attack away from being in the red zone. One big attack could end the beast and the party could get back to the city for some must needed R&R. Riksis readied his spear, leveling it on top of his shield. The aimed it at the boar's center of mass, intent on scoring another kill to add to his belt. He let the spear go, it looked to be ready to skewer the beasts hind leg but it moved at the last second. He quickly redrew his spear to it's previous position, circling the creature for another opening.

Warnik's last attack seemed to infuriate the boar to a frenzy as his squealed and wailed around. With all of it's might it stabbed at Warnik, landing a critical hit. 'He should have dodged', though Riksis. Readying his spear for another trust.

It looked like the black boar was way more agile than the normal brown boars. Only Warnik had been able to land a hit on it with his mace. Riksis seeked to even the score. The boar had Warnik in it's sights, shifting it's body weight to charge at him. Riksis positioned himself close to Warnik but at the side of the boar, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. The boar let loose a roar and charged at his companion, set on killing him. Before the boar could land the hit Riksis delivered a shield blow to the flank of the boar, driving it into the ground squirming. He followed up by stabbing it in it's underbelly, a critical hit.

It was his turn to try and damage the boar. His last attack had been a disaster, leaving his HP gauge depleted. He ran towards the boar, leading with his spear and supporting it with his shield. He planned to skewer the beast on his spear. At the last second the boar jumped away, sending him into yet another front roll. This time he was ready for it, rolling into it using his shiled, he rose up to his feet once more. "Dammit." He cursed under his breath.

Riksis aimed at the one closes to the forest clearing. Charging it with his spear. The wasp, being much faster than him, buzzed around as Riksis poked at it, aggravating it more than harming it.The wasp, fed up with him, launched an attack of his own. It flew in a arch, it's stinger poised and ready to stab into him. Riksis jumped to the side, narrowly avoiding becoming skewered on it's tip. "Yeah, you're right. Fast fuckers."

Another boar broke into millions of crystals floating into the sky above. Nothing special loot-wise this time around. It didn't discourage Riksis at all as his last drop was just a lucky find. Riksis looked at the upper left hand corner of his vision, his health bare was still green, though one more attack would put him at half health, the yellow zone. He wasn't worried. The boars around here did a max of 2 damage with a critical hit, which was rare. With Riksis's new stat change of damage mitigation, they would only be able to do a critical of one damage. He wasn't in danger of dying anytime soon, especially with two people to back him up. "No, ill be fine. Ill see how my health is after another boar."

Again Riksis lead the charge to find another boar, this time a black boar on the fringes of the spawn location. It looked to be a bit larger than the brown boars they had been fighting. It's tusks where straightened, filed to a point, instead of curled for ramming. Riksis let out a roar as he charged in to attack the boar. The boar, being deceptively fast for it's size, saw him coming. As Riksis set his spear to ram the boar, his shield's edge caught the ground making him lose his footing as the boar charged him. The boar lifted him up with his tusks, sending him up and over his back. He landed with a hard thud on his back. "Damn. i have to get used to fighting with this shield.". Riksis got back up, determined to do better.

"Oh, don't worry, we will be doing a lot more." said Riksis with a smirk. He had finally gotten a shield to pair for his fighting style. He had always liked the reach of a spear with the protection of a shield. It felt like the perfect blend of defense and offense. Riksis surveyed the field, still lush with monsters, spying a lone one to the right of his group. "Alright, lets go."  Riksis walked up the lone boar which instantly showed aggression as he drew it's aggro. He placed the shield between himself and the boar, raising his spear to the side and angling it at the boar. He intended to lure the boar in to test the waters of his new style. The boar took the bait, charging in to him with everything it had. It hit his shield, throwing it up and exposing Riksis's guard, delivering a gorge to his stomach that threw him back. Riksis looked at the two small red holes in his stomach, watching his health go down to the low green. Another attack would put him in the yellow, half health. He charged the boar, using his shield to knock it's tusks upward with a shiedl bash before delivering a stab to it's exposed throat. He withdrew away and covered up with his shield. He needed to learn the ropes of this new style.

    Loot: 20

    Gained:

    5x20= 100 col

    1 material

one uncommon item (Going to be a shield in my case)

Calrex filed to deliver the fatal blow, his sword failing to open. A boon more than a hindrance to Riksis, the player who dealt the finishing blow always got better loot. The boar tried it's hardest to charge Warnik as it's final target, intent to dish out at least some damage before it's fall. The boar missed it's mark and fell on it's side, squirming and screeching. Riksis walked up to the boar and slid his spear through the boars throat, stopping it's movements within seconds as it burst into crystals. Again the loot screen came up, offering another level up with 100 col and one material which Rikisis took. But along with the loot, something else popped up, a shield icon appeared under the 'weapons' loot tab. Clicking on it revealed the shield's name, 'Boar bone shield', an uncommon item. Clicking on it once again gave it's description, stats, and a picture of it. It contained a +1 of damage mitigation, described as: "A shield fashioned from the bones of boars. This stout shield is used by hunters of the plains to protect them from the boar's savage tusks." The picture showed multiple bones, a lot of them tusks, fused together to created an aged bone shield. The bones where a light brown, denoting their age. Riksis took the loot and equipped his new item. The shield appeared on his arm, protecting from his knees to the bottom of his chin.

The boar was still fuming from Riksis' savage attack earlier, that and still dazed. The boar charged at him, seeking to gore the player on it's horns. Riksis side stepped, unleashing a flurry of stabs and prods to the boars unprotected hide. The last attack struck it's right foreleg, sending it head over hooves to the ground. He was starting to get the hand of battle more and more as he continued to fight. The more he did it the more he liked it, the adrenaline pulsing through his virtual body. He raised his spear, leveled with his head, this battle was almost over. Almost time to pick another.

Riksis felt good hunting with his two teammates, he had grown a level and had made alot of progress to level grinding and getting better gear. Although none of the boars as of yet had dropped anything of value besides a bit of col, he had  heard they dropped equipment before. There was only one way to find out. Calrex had already made his attempt at hitting the boar which it had dodged. The boar was now facing Calrex, Riksis would try and flank it. Running to it's side he would jump and plunge the spear into the boars side. He would then kick back and send the boar reeling the opposite way. Riksis would then land, reading for another attack.

  10. Riksis gave a nod to his new partner. "Got it." He was too new to the game to have any healing items but that didn't worry him much. He had a bit of experience fighting the smaller mods. Plus, Skylar was a few levels above him, more than enough to take on anything they needed. Riksis walked over to the clearing where the forest ended. Outside was the wasp breeding ground and the sight of their battle. Riksis readied his spear, extending his free hand, pointing to the clearing. "Experience before beauty."

  11. The new player both joined his party and shared the quest he was pursuing. As he clicked the confirm button a second health bar appeared below Riksis's reading: 'Skylar Lv 6'. Riksis pulled up the qest titled: 'Secret Medicines' and read over how to complete it while Skylar introduced himself. "Well I'm Riksis, as you can see. Let's get out of here, i need to level up." ."I think the exit is just up this way", Riksis said as he pointed ahead of them.

  12. Received: 5 col

The boar went down as Calrex's axe kick had hit it's mark. The boar was sent flying before bursting into tiny slivers of crystal. This hunting thing was getting easier by the kill, the scowl that had plagued his face was instead replaced by a smirk as this marked his first monster kill that he himself helped with. The screen opened up revealing another 'congratulations', again displaying another amount of experience point's gained Riksis heald the screen to Warnik, "Let's split the col down the middle and you can have the material."

  13. Riksis had just got done propositioning an NPC blacksmith to build him new gear. He was only a measly level two but he needed stronger equipment. Although he had no col at the moment, he hoped to atleast get some hunting the boars and other creatures that plagued the beginner city. The only way he would be able to escape the lower floors was to level up and gear up, he couldn't do that skulking around this city. He left the merchant's stalls and left to the inner square where all the new players gathered. Hopefully he could find something or someone that could help him.

The boar readied itself again, getting up from Calrex's spinning kick. It turned to Warnik, poised and ready to strike. Riksis took the opportunity to deliver another stab at the boars now red hide. The spear punctured through leaving a red hole as Riksis pulled the spear out. The boar, now enranged, charged at Warnik. It's raged doubled it's speed as it flailed around. It would deliver a charge into the midsection of a waiting Warnik.

  15. Riksis spun around just in time to see Warnik's mace collide with the boars face, sending it reeling from the impact. Calrex, the veteran of the group simply walked up to the boar and punched it with a direct hit to it's face splitting it into crystals which evaporated into the sky. A screen popped up reading 'CONGRATULATIONS!' with the total experience points gained. Another screen came up after that announcing his level up to level two. At the top left of his vision his health changed from '5/5' to '7/7'. Not bad for a level up. Even leveling up could not wipe away Riksis's scowl. His first 'kill' and he didn't even land a hit, disgraceful.

Calrex approached them both, asking them how they where. Riksis simply gave him a "fine" before rushing into another fight to prove to himself he wasn't a disgrace.

The next boar was a bit larger than the one they had just killed, possibly because it was closer to the center of the spawn point. Riksis rushed behind it into it's flank, angling his spear paralleled to his shoulders. He thrust the spear into the right leg of the boar where it went through, punching a circular red hole in the target. Riksis pulled the spear out, kumping back a few feet and readying a new attack. The boar turned to him and roared, charging towards him. He moved his momentum to dodge to the left but he was too slow. The boar collided with his shoulder causing him to roll to the side. He sprang to his feet, ready for any other attack.

  16. Riksis was leading the trio to the designated grinding spot when Warnik asked how combat would be to someone who had never fought. Truth be told Rikimaru had never even thrusted his spear at anything. He was just as much a green-horn at this as he was. It was a shame to admit but he was curious as to Calrex's reply. It wasn't very helpful, a simple 'prepare for anything'. Riksis had read through the tutorial like everyone else and they where low level monsters. If the three of them couldn't take down a single boar they deserved to die. Rikimaru pushed the thought from his mind, they neared the spawn location of the boars. The trio was atop a small hill which kept them away from both the boars aggro range and their sight. The information held true, the boars where spaced out well enough for solo fighting. He looked over his shoulder to the rest of the group, "You guys ready?" When they both would give a reply he would target the nearest boar, which happened to be the one at the bottom of the hill.

The boar was a big black pig with tusk sticking out of the corner of it's mouth. Riksis held his spear by the handle in the middle of the spear, marked by red cloth. He charged down the hill keeping the boar in his sights. Hearing the end of the hill the boar noticed him, instantly facing him and letting out a ferocious roar. Riksis thrusts his spear aiming for the head of the boar when it side stepped his attack. He spun around to face the boar with a scowl on his face.

OOC: First time writing an attack post, hope i did it correctly.

  17. All three of the players where now completely filled in on the plan. It was simple level grinding, killing monsters for items and experience points. But now with a higher level player watching out for them it would be a lot easier to farm than if they both went out on their own. Both his partners where already eager and waiting to go, and so was he truth be told. With a flick of his wrist he opened his backback menu. He would equip his starter armour over his blue shirt and black pants and boots. It wasn't anything special, a simple leather chest piece. Next he equipped his one handed spear which spawned a holster on his back with the weapon already sheathed. Closing the menu, Riksis would lead the trio out of the tavern and into the streets of the starting city.

Outside it was the usual hum-drum of the city. Small roving groups of newbies walked around melded into the NPC crowd. A few loners sat on benches, browsed shops, and went about their business. It was only a five minute walk to the gates as the tavern was relatively close to the gates. As he stepped out of the gate he unsheathed his spear and slung it over his right shoulder, holding it near the end of it's shaft. He wanted to be prepared anytime death was even a remote possibility. The road from the city went on a mile or so until a fork in the road divided the road. He took the path to the right as they where heading to the north-eastern plains. It would take them a few hours to get there.

  18. The player seemed to just be relaxing while in the forest, like having a leisurely stroll through the forest.  The butterfly was obviously out of the ordinary for the forest fauna. It seemed to 'lead' him, more or less. It would slow down so he could keep pace with it but it would also speed up as to not be too close to them."Never mind there is a quest apparently! the quest is called 'Secret medicine of the forest' I guess we have to find something" Riksis smirked as he heard the words. Finally, he could level safely and get a quest done in the process. "If you want you are more then free to join me on this quest." "Well that would require this." Riksis said as he sent the player a part invite. "Like i said, i'm not helping for free."  Riksis would wait until he accepted the party invite before continuing to follow the player. He needed to know what kind of quest he was getting himself into.

  19. His new ally, who had identified himself as Warnik, accepted his part invitation. As he pressed the confirm button a small ding echoed in Rikimaru's head. At the top left corner of his vision another life bar appeared. By it's end it read: Warnik, Lv 1. His new ally was just as new to the death game as he was. As soon as Riksis was going to answer Warnik's question, an unfamiliar voice called out to him.  "Hi there, I'm guessing you're the one who put out the party request?".The player was geared, though not enough to be a clearing player, possibly a mid leveled solo or a low leveled guild player. He stood up, facing both Warnik and the new player. "Yes, i'm Riksis. This is Warnik, the other player who answered my advertisement." He would do the same thing he had done to Warnik and send him a party invitation. The player introduced himself as Calrex, Riksis gave a smirk and a nod of his head. He filled Calrex in the same way he had with Walnik. He told him about the monster spawn area outside of town and how he wanted to level grind.

  20. Rikimaru was idling in his thoughts as he waited for volunteers. He tried to figure out things ahead of time, make a plan. He had had a conversation with a low level information broker about lucrative spawn spots. The information he had told him was no longer worth anything so he simply face it out for free. In the plains north east of the starting city was a boat spawn point that spawned them each creature away from the other. While the board where a little stronger than normal, they could be fought solo without drawing agro from the rest of the heard. This made it an ideal spot for new players to level grind at. The next thing he needed to do was level grind and get better equipment. From the he could continue up to the higher floors and repeat the process.

Rikimaru was just about to give up when he heard his characters name be called from across the room. His volunteer call had worked. He waved the player over and motioned for him to sit down. "As you know I'm Riksis, and I need someone to party up with to grind levels." He would say this while setting up a party with the other player. "So, ya in?" He would say as the comand promo appeared before the player asking him to accept or refuse the party invite.

  21. Rikimaru had been in the town of beginnings for quite a while. He had already gotten over the initial shock of getting stuck in this death game. Although it was still surreal, he had to persurveer if he was going to have any chance of getting out of here alive. To do that he needed to level, and to level safely he needed allies. He was staying at one of the many taverns that dotted the city, housing SAO starter players. A few stronger players had already leveled and gotten into the upper floors. Most still had a ways to go to catch up. Walking out of his room he flicked his hand, opening the menu. He put out an advertisment in the taver which would be visible to anyone inside and out of it. It read as follows: Allies needed for level grinding. Ask for Riksis at the <Ol' starter's tavern>. He pressed the greed check mark and was met with a screen saying "request sent". He took a seat at a table facing the door and waited for any perspective allies to pop in.
