Matsuo Kaito

Matt looked around, noticing someone had started fighting the boar and decided to watch. He stood up and walked to the closest tree, which seemed to have something at the top. After looking closer, Matt realized it was a person. He shrugged and sat down under the tree, watching the fight, since he didn't have anything better to do.

Matt sighed and blinked casually as he walked around the Starting City boredly. He'd considered talking to people but they all seemed busy, or simply strange. There were some players he'd rather not associate with, like the dude who was just trying to eat his own tongue in the Spawn Zone. Matt noticed a large group of people and joined them, allowing himself to be pulled by the tide of players streaming out of the city. Everyone seemed to want to leave and start their adventure, although he was more interested in walking around aimlessly.

Matt didn't think of SAO as a death trap. He thought of it as the most immersive game in the world, something that should be savored, not breezed through the way most people were doing... Or at least trying to. Matt walked out of the city and detached himself from the group, making his way toward a field mostly populated by mobs, with the occasional lost player. Then he simply sat down in the grass. The closest boar was about 30 meters away, and it seemed more interested in the ground than him, not that it could really see Matt.

Hello there, fellow players! My name's Matt, and I've joined this site hoping for an amazing SAO roleplay, and even though I haven't started yet, I can tell it's amazing.

Matsuo grew up gaming. He has played classics from the 2000's and likes them as much as he likes modern games, even though today they're more advanced. Matsuo grew up in an okay family who wasn't very nice, but wasn't abusive either. He moved a lot, from city to city, due to his father's business and was the "new kid" at least once a year, which is what got him into gaming and the Internet. There, he knew the people on the sites he's active on and isn't judged. He was there when the Nerver Gear was released, and he was one of the first people to buy it. He did not beta test SAO simply because he'd rather experience the game without bugs or glitches, even though he could've applied and become one. Once Matsuo bought it, he sat down and began playing Sword Art Online, to the dismay of his family, whom had wanted him to eat dinner with them. 

>Personality:

In real life, Matsuo is shy and keeps to himself, but is a different person online, where he seeks friends and talks to people, something he never does outside of his room. He sometimes may come off as mean, but he doesn't mean anything in a bad way unless he hates you. Even though he does hate many people, that is beside the point. Matsuo only had one friend, whom died in a car crash before the opening, and Matsuo promised him he'll that he'll beat Sword Art in his honor, since he couldn't.

» Virtues:
↣Resourcefulness. Matt can always find a way to get something done, no matter what. He searches for solutions to all setbacks and manages to find them. He's become like that by studying how things work, and finding other purposes for objects, something he enjoys learning about.

↣Ambitious. Matt seeks to achieve what he strives for and will not let anything get in the way. He crosses any barrier to do what he needs to, and it's what powers him through the game.

↣Intelligent. Matsuo has had a thirst for learning ever since he was born, and his parents were more than happy to cater. He spent his childhood reading books, and letting his creativity out on videogames, something his parents think is a flaw, but he doesn't care. Matsuo has achieved academic greatness in elementary school, but lately, he's been using his intelligence for different things, such as creating and designing new inventions, which are preposterous and useless, but at least gives him something to do.

» Flaws:

↣Reckless. Matt charges into dangerous situations head-on. He usually does so for fun, pushing limits to see how strong he is, or what his capabilities are. He's been warned about this before. but his take on the subject is simple: If you don't do something early, you'll still have to do it later.

↣Withdrawn. Matsuo doesn't usually interact with others, and prefers leveling on his own. He acts like this to strangers, and sometimes with his friends. He does not expect to join a guild anytime soon.

↣Sarcastic. Matt doesn't understand how this is a flaw, although he is fully aware of how sarcastic he is. He has taken up the habit in school, where insulting others is frowned upon, but subtle mockery is overlooked. Normally, Matt is friendly, and may be sarcastic as a joke.
