Joy of joys. Praise be. Doug ceased to run and stumbled a few steps. The heaving beast had engaged with two approaching players. Her saviours! Doug wasn't sure if she was embarrassed or relived- but expelled a sigh, at least. After a short brunette male had lunged at the beast, weakening it, Doug unsheathed her rapier. Determined to prove herself, she lifted herself into the air!
"Huuuyyyaaaa!!!" her war cry went.
She put all her weight behind the thrust!
And missed.
As the boar lunged forward at the other girl, Doug hurtled forward, landing face-first in the grass.
"Ugghh." came a groan.

Rough, calloused ankles brushed and ticked by soft grass.
Short breaths forced out of convulsing silk lungs.
A stumble-
A fall-
Doug was on the move.
She wasn't just running- oh no. She was running for her life. The poor fool-oh, the poor inexperienced fool- tried to take on a boar. A foolish move for someone who has never faced anything more than a chicken. The sun emitted a golden glow and blanketed the plains with it's warm velvet. Doug had thought that this was a sign. A sign that this was her golden hour! Finally she would face her fears and take on a monster! And not just any monster- a boar. I've faced worse farm animals, she had thought. So why, oh why, was she running for her life with a crazed boar a few metres behind her? Face red and eyes wide?
Was she incredibly brave or unbelievably stupid?
Not even Doug knew. Hell, she hadn't even unsheathed her rapier. What she needed now was a miracle.
Suddenly, a voice caught on the summery breeze. Doug's breath hitched. Someone was calling her! A saviour had come for her!
"Help me!" she screamed, "Please, save me! I'd sell my ass to kill this thing!"

✿ Real name
Douglas Hilda Gaarder
✿ Age
Seventeen
✿ Gender
Female
✿ Height
5'3
✿ HistoryDoug was born in December on a dairy cow farm on the outskirts of Lillehammer, Norway. Despite living in a traditional
home surrounded by little more than cows (and a single goat) she had a strong interest in gaming technology. Her life at
home often consisted of balancing her time with the cows and daisies outdoors with gaming and programming indoors.
She had multi-dimensional interests, such as floral arrangements, RPGs and hip-hop music. At age 17 she discovered
Sword Art Online and has since been stuck in the game, leaving her mother, father and goat at home.
✿ Personality
Idealistic. Focussed. Flexible. All words that describe the former farm girl, Doug. She has high standards for her own performance in
combat, as well as others. Perhaps this may cause frustration with her teammates if she feels they do not reach them. This
perfectionist attitude also causes herself to self judge which in turn gives her a low self esteem. However, she can easily adapt to
new situations and likes the company of others. Doug is seen as sweet and reassuring so many use her as a confidante for their
worries. Yet she is also easily led and impressionable, leaving her open to manipulation.
✿ Virtues
✿ Doug is an exceptionally focussed girl, who always has her objective in mind. She doesn't loiter and is rather proactive, never
staying too far from the path she has set for herself. This will be useful in combat because she is not very easily distracted by
outside stimuli, and will keep on target in battle.
✿ This girl is exceptionally flexible and can adapt easily to new environments and situations. This makes her a rather emotionally
stable who isn't likely to kick off in a mood to no reason, and is open to listening to the ideas of others (although sometimes is not
up to facilitating them). This also extends to meeting to new teammates and filling in different battle positions.
✿ Doug is a very intuitive and personable girl why enjoys the company of others and has a natural affinity for back and forthconversations, often offering her own wisdom to people in a time of need. This allowed her to make new friends easily and get abetter picture of what's going on in other people's heads.✿ Flaws✿ She is extremely impressionable, quite gullible and easily led. She puts a lot of faith into people who seem to be friendlyand concerned for her welfare, and doesn't always recognise map intentions among the more sneaky. This means Doug cansometimes end up in less than savoury situations.✿ Doug's perfectionist tendencies cause her low self esteem due to the incredibly high standards that she sets for herself(which naturally she can never meet) Because of her self doubt she feels like her options are limited and doesn't have the skill andresources to fulfil her potential which isn't always true.✿ Due to being stuck in a death game she is feeling very homesick due to her sentimentality and this sometimes affects her combatperformance. Her forlorn nature can cause sullenness and low mood which can sometimes affect other party members with theamount of gloom she'd admitting.

[PP-F1] - Batting the boars

BD: 7 (2 DMG)
With her rapier held in two trembling hands and stray grass forming a scruffy beard on her face, Doug locked onto the beast. Hot blood rushed to her face, a picture of focus (and maybe slight embarrassed). Her nervous tremors racked her body as she prepared to attack. With renewed vigour, she leaped off the ground.
And tripped over a rock.
But! Lady Luck had graced her with her smile. Upon accidentally launching herself into the air, her sword was thrust into the boars flesh. The boar released a hideous cry. Surprised, Doug withdrew her blade and scurried to a safe distance.
"Haha! Are you seeing that? Not quite pathetic!" she exclaimed in broken English.
