  1. She excitedly scooted just a bit closer and smiled big and wide as he offered exactly what she'd been wanting to ask. She quickly realized that she didn't want to seem too desperate to ask for his help, so her expression evened out and she resorted to nodding instead. "I'd love your help- ...I-If it wouldn't be too much to ask of you? I would hate to occupy too much of your time...." A bit of strength had returned to her voice as a result of her excitement, and her feet had returned to swinging back and forth beneath the bench.

[Sorry my post is so short! >///<]

  2. She returned her eyes to him as he spoke his suggestion and nodded her head ever so slowly in agreement. She had considered that option, and in fact it was the only thing she could think of that she would be good at, yet she still knew so little about the system. Her lips were curled slightly downward in a frown, and she responded quickly after he'd finished speaking: "I had considered doing that - I even took on the quest - but I just can't bring myself to go outside of the safe zone. It's just so terrifying out there, but I have to gather certain materials to complete the quest, so I haven't been able to finish it..." A sigh escaped from her lips, and slowly an idea formed in her head. He seemed friendly, and perhaps even helpful, so it couldn't hurt to at least ask, could it? "Um... Do you... maybe... No, I'm sorry, nevermind." She couldn't possibly burden somebody she didn't even know the name of with such a request.

  3. She looked over at him when he started speaking and pushed her bangs aside, mentally thinking him for starting the conversation instead of her. She listened and took a moment to respond, her first reaction was to shrug slightly. It felt so out of character to have been sulking and moping about for so long, yet she just couldn't bring back her usual outlook. Everything seemed so bleak and she felt more easily frightened than ever, it was truly a terrible position to be in. "I just..." She began to speak, but her words quickly trailed off and morphed into a sigh. "I feel completely useless here... I'm too afraid to fight monsters, so I can't do anything." The defeat in her voice had returned, and her gaze fell back down to the grass.

  4. Her head slowly lifted and her eyes set upon the source of the voice that had startled her out of her mental trance. She took in his appearance for what felt longer than it was in reality, then shook her head and nodded quickly. "Oh, uhm... I don't mind." Was the response she managed to muster up, though her voice still sounded a bit weak and strained. She shuffled closer to the end opposite to him and rested her hands in her lap after averting her gaze to the side. She didn't mean to seem as unfriendly or antisocial as she did, but she just couldn't help it with where her mind was. She truly was a friendly person, and the desire to speak up and say something to him kept arising, yet her words got caught in her throat so she remained silent instead and continued to awkwardly look off in the other direction.

  5. “If my health goes down to zero, I'll die in the real world too...” Her voice was weak and her words sounded defeated as she thought out loud. The serenity of the park was just barely soothing enough to keep herself from breaking down into tears. The severity of the situation had hit her hard, and despite how she had never been an avid gamer herself, she knew how dangerous and monumental the task of clearing the game was. Her emerald eyes glanced around, silently wondering how many other players were like her: timid, cowardly, too afraid to combat even the lowest level monsters. She tried to get a hang of the combat system, tried to overcome her fears, but she fled at the first sight of a monster. All it took was one tiny misstep and... poof. She'd be gone, from this life and her real one. It terrified her into inaction, which is why she'd spent so much time in the city of beginnings.

"This is terrible... What am I going to do..?" She quietly questioned herself as her gaze fell earthward and settled to watch the grass move with the gentle winds. Her feet swung back and forth beneath the bench and she slouched forward, silently contemplating on what she could do next.

  6. Hello everybody! I almost forgot to make one of these since I got so busy, but doing it a bit late shouldn't hurt! I'm new to the site even though my character journal was completed a while ago, and I'm really looking forward to roleplaying with you all!

  7. I'd love to start up a guild like this! But I think I need to establish my character a bit before I'd be ready to take that on. It would give me plenty of time to plan it all out, though!

Oh, and I'm not entirely certain on what profession I was going to take. I was leaning toward Alchemist because I think it suits her the best, but tailoring and artisan might be good alternatives too.

    PROFILE

    Username: Kiki
    Real Name: Keiko Jikan
    Age: 17
    Gender: Female
    Height: 5'4"

    About
Keiko was the only biological child of her parents. She lived with her mother and step-father, who she believed was her biological father, as well as her adopted older brother who was five years her senior. She grew up in Yuza, a small town located in the Akumi District, Yamagata Prefecture of Japan. Her parents were constantly worried about her due to how quiet she was, and were afraid she wouldn't make many friends as she grew up. She had a very good relationship with her adopted older brother, especially since they had been raised as if they were actually related.

Just like her parents were afraid of, Keiko had a very difficult time making friends. Her shyness and timidity made her an excellent target for bullying, and because of this, she excluded herself from socializing and began her habit of reading. At some point, she also picked up the hobby of video games, though to a much lesser extent. Her older brother introduced her to the MMO and RPG genres, and she quickly took an interest to them. When her brother had learned of Sword Art Online's release, he managed to convince her that it would be a good experience, and offered to let her be the first to play it. She was never expecting to be trapped in the game shortly afterward.

    Virtues
    ((Benevolent))
Keiko has always had a very kind heart and a strong love for making smiles. She learned that one of the easiest ways to do that was through generosity and charity, and since she was already innately generous, it came naturally to her. She has virtually no problems sharing with others, and she is by no means greedy in any definition of the word. Helping others is one of the many things she enjoys in life, the list of which having grown much smaller since beginning to play Sword Art Online.

    ((Educated))
Keiko has always been a very quiet person, and despite being easily distracted, she always held a great interest in academics. Any time she needed to cheer herself up, she would dive into her books, or focus all of her attention onto her homework. Her methods of cheering herself up were incredibly productive, and over time she developed a vast knowledge of many different subjects, only some of which are ever relevant while most end up being useless information.

    ((Gentle))
Keiko is a gentle spirit. She is kind to everybody, even if they might not deserve it entirely. She believes that there is good in everybody's heart, and that sometimes it might just be a little harder to reach than others. This gentle nature of hers translates over to her mannerisms and habits as well, and is only a thin, blurred line away from her timidity. Her gentleness is a hindrance in some cases as well, such as how she refuses to delve into the combat of the game because she can't bring herself to kill the monsters.

    Flaws
    ((Absent-Minded))
Keiko is incredibly absent-minded, and a terrible daydreamer. It's not uncommon, especially nowadays, to find her drifting off from a conversation to stare at nothing in particular while her imagination runs wild. That imagination of hers is quite debilitating as well. Although it wouldn't be fair to call her a pessimist, Keiko's mind can very quickly jump to the worst case scenario when presented with a situation. She might imagine a conversation going south, and suddenly withdraw from said conversation to save herself from what she imagined would happen. Otherwise, she just has trouble focusing, unless it's on something that really captures her interest.

    ((Gullible))
Keiko is very gullible, which is a result of the mixture of her absentmindedness and her gentle, benevolent nature. Dense might be a good word to use when describing her, or perhaps even blissfully unobservant. She doesn't pick up on things like being manipulated or used, simply because she's always happy to help in any way she can. There are limits to her generosity though, of course, which is usually the only time she can stand to put her foot down.

    ((Timid))
Keiko's timidity is almost confusable, or even interchangeable with her gentleness. Because she has always been a typically quiet person, and because she strongly dislikes conflict and confrontation, it's quite easy to peg her as timid, or shy, or perhaps even fearful. As an example, she is terrified of most kinds of monsters because she can't bring herself to fight them, despite knowing exactly what is at stake.
