Samiel walked through the various streets of the Town of Beginnings until he had finally arrived in front of the blacksmith’s house that Zackariah had told him about. Overall it wasn’t that long of a journey between the two locations though it might of helped that he had learned the area. As Samiel approached the house he noticed the blacksmith NPC Lyle Tealeaf was working at the forge to which Samiel greeted him and handed him the package telling him that it was from Zackariah who had asked him to deliver it. Lyle took the package and thanked Samiel before noting that he could use some help when he had a chance. With this the first part of the quest line completed as Samiel looked over the rewards and decided that this would be it for the day as he walked off to find a place to get some food and a bed for the night.

 

Thread Summary:

 

Samiel quickly greets Zackariah and hands over the five materials he had asked for before being invited into the house so Zackariah can give him a taste at making a healing potion. Samiel already knew this was coming up and prepared himself as Zackariah proceeded to tell him how to go about making the potion and handed him some of the seeds he got given to Zackariah before. Taking the seeds Samiel was then instructed to use the nearby mortar and pestle to grind it down before adding it to a flask that was over a fire and had water boiling in it. While Samiel wasn’t quite sure how this would work out he didn’t really know much about the seeds plus this was a game after all and proceeded to add the finely crushed seeds to the water.

Samiel continued to carefully follow Zackariah’s instructions and was surprised when it ended up producing a perfect quality healing potion. Zackariah quickly took the potion and thanked Samiel for his help before telling him that the local blacksmith Lyle Tealeaf could use some help and it would help him learn more as well but before leaving he asked Samiel to deliver a package to the blacksmith regardess. Samiel agreed and quickly began to head off towards the blacksmith.

Eventually Samiel had managed to find another suitable spot to resume his search again. After Samiel had reached the spot he began to move around the tall grass and various other plants around for anything useable hoping to find something.

Quickly after he started to search Samiel was surprised to quickly find a small group of seeds like those he had found before to which he quickly put it into his inventory. Samiel smiled and let out a sigh of relief as he was finally done and as such he got up and started to make his way back into the Town of Beginnings and towards Zackariah. As Samiel made his way through the streets he took note of the sun going down and figured he was making good time as the last part of this quest wouldn’t be as bad as it was when getting the materials. After a bit Samiel arrived back to the NPC Zackariah.

Samiel had eventually once again come across another suitable spot to search however the spot seemed a bit more lacking in the various other plants he had seen before similar to how some of the spots were previously. Despite this spot being like the others as how things had gone previously with the similar spots Samiel was still determined to try and see if he could possibly find something here and kneeling down began to search around through the grass.

Not finding anything Samiel got up again to move on to another location and started to walk. The fact that Samiel had once again not managed to find anything in a spot like this wasn’t that much of a surprise due to how things had gone with the areas similar to it previously but at least he had tried since there was still the possibility of something being there. Even though this was another failed search attempt Samiel continued to move on looking for the next spot he could search for materials doing his best to try and stay positive about things as he still had made progress before.

Samiel continued stroll through the grasslands until he had managed to find another suitable spot to resume his search again. Samiel kneeling down started to look through the tall grass and various other plants around for anything useable.

While searching Samiel managed to find a small group of seeds like those he had found before to which Samiel quickly put it into his inventory. He knew that he still had one last material to gather but he still enjoyed making some more progress and was happy to almost be done. At this point Samiel proceeded to walk off in search of another suitable spot to gather materials. As he walked Samiel looked over the grasslands once again at the various boars here and there as they roamed around making sure to avoid their detection range. The whole process of gathering materials was almost over and Samiel had to only find one more however it could still take awhile.

Samiel continued to carefully step through the grasslands until he came upon another spot similar to the previous one. Upon reach the spot Samiel stopped and knelt down as he hoped it wouldn’t end up the same as the last spot had as he began to search through the grass.

While carefully looking through the grass he came across the same problem he had on a previous spot where he thought he had found something for it to turn out to be nothing. Failing to find anything again Samiel got up and began to move on yet again to a different spot to continue the search. The whole process of walking around from patch of grass to patch of grass was getting a bit tiring but Samiel didn’t want to stop and rest if he could avoid it. Samiel figured that he could rest after the quest however if things dragged on to much he would consider taking a rest at that point.

Samiel continued to march on until he once again came across another suitable spot to search however the spot seemed a bit more lacking in the various other plants he had seen before just like some of the spots were previously. However even though the spots similar to this one previously had not gone well Samiel decided to still try and see if he could possibly find something here and kneeling down began to search around through the grass.

After once again not finding anything Samiel got up again to move on to another location and started to walk. Not managing to find anything in that spot wasn’t that much of a surprise in the end to Samiel due to how things had gone with the areas similar to this one previously but he still found it was work it to search as there could still be a chance of finding something in a spot like this at some point. Samiel raising himself up continued to march on looking for the next spot he could search for materials.

As Samiel continued on a bit he kept making sure to give any and all mobs a wide enough birth to avoid detection until he found another patch of grass that seemed suitable enough continue to his search for materials. Samiel once again lowered himself down as he began to look through the grass as he had before for anything he could that might be deemed a material.

After searching and coming up with nothing Samiel decided to give up as he was not finding anything here and decided to find another suitable patch of grass to look in. As Samiel continued to walk he did his best to just and enjoy the weather while relaxing a bit. While Samiel kept an eye on his surroundings he wondered again about how long the process of gathering the materials might take. Regardless of the amount of time it took though Samiel pressed on looking for a new spot to search in.

Samiel eventually found another suitable spot to resume his search again. Taking his kneeling stance Samiel started to look through the tall grass and various other plants around for anything useable.

Not long after he started to search Samiel was surprised to quickly find a small group of seeds like those he had found before to which he quickly put it into his inventory. He knew that he still had two more materials to gather but he enjoyed making some more progress regardless. Samiel proceeded to walk off in search of another suitable spot to gather materials. As he walked Samiel made sure to keep an eye on his surroundings and avoid the detection range of the boars the continue to wander around. The process of gathering materials seemed to being going well as had a success before this one not that long ago but Samiel knew that things could change but tried to stay positive as he continued to walk.

Despite how things went with the past similar spot Samiel decided to still try and see if he could possibly find something here and kneeling down began to search around through the grass.

Samiel continued to make his way through the grasslands until he came upon another spot similar to the previous one. Stopping and lowering himself he hoped it wouldn’t end up the same as the last spot had as he began to search through the grass.

While Samiel searched through the grass he thought he had found something at one point only for it to turn out to be nothing. After this Samiel raised himself and decided to move on yet again to yet another spot to continue the search. While there were other areas besides the grasslands to search through if nothing else this area was at least safer comparatively. As Samiel began to walk he wondered if he could of made this whole process easier on himself in a way but regardless it was too late now and it wasn’t like the way he was doing things didn’t work after all.

Samiel had once again come across a suitable spot of tall grass to search or at least so it seemed to be on initial glance however the spot seemed a bit more lacking in the various other plants he had seen before. Despite how things looked Samiel decided to still try and see if he could possibly find something here and kneeling down began to search around through the grass.

After spending some time searching and not finding anything Samiel got up to move on to another location and started to walk. The fact that he had not managed to find anything in that spot wasn’t that much of a surprise in the end due to how things looked before but at least he had tried since there could of possibly of been something there. Despite at how things went Samiel continued to move on looking for the next spot he could search for materials.

Samiel finding a suitable spot like he had previously quickly approached the spot and kneeling down started to look around for anything usesable. Despite his previous success he knew that another success was not guaranteed and he should be prepared to possibly fail at finding anything in this spot. Samiel continue to search knowing that regardless of the results he would keep trying.

After some time had passed Samiel had not managed to find anything so he got up and started to walk off yet again. He had briefly thought of taking a break here and there through his attempts to potentially pace himself but did want to try and get this done as quickly as he could. Looking up briefly Samiel hoped that he could at least finish this before nightfall as he would like to avoid having to continue this process tomorrow as well but would if need be.

Samiel kept on walking while keeping an eye on his surroundings until he had managed to find another suitable spot to resume his search again. Getting down he started to look through the tall grass and various other plants around for anything useable.

Nearly looking over it Samiel managed to find a small group of seeds that registered as a material to which Samiel smiled before putting it into his inventory. He knew that he still had four more materials to gather before he could head back into the city but it was still nice to at least make some progress. Getting up Samiel began to walk off in search of another suitable spot to gather materials. As he walked Samiel looked over the grasslands at the various boars here and there making sure to avoid their detection range. While Samiel might not be as far ahead as other players at the very least he had managed to gain knowledge on various different aspects of the game which would hopefully help in catching up.

Samiel continued to walk around in the grasslands trying to take it easy on what might be a long day foraging for materials in this way until he came up another suitable spot with taller grass and some other plants growing here and there around. He knelt down and once again started to search for whatever he could find hoping that he could come across something that could work as a material other than just the grass and various other plants he had seen the other time he had searched previously.

Once again Samiel had managed to not find anything and upon such took a moment took a moment to close his eyes and prayed. The way things were going were kind of discouraging at this point but after praying Samiel found himself feeling better and proceeded to get up and head off to another spot to begin his search again. While he might fail at the next attempt as well he planned to at least keep trying.

Samiel continued walk a bit making sure to give any and all mobs a wide enough birth to avoid detection until he found another patch of grass that seemed suitable enough continue to his search for materials. As he knelt down he began to look through the grass as he had before for any plants that might be deemed a material.

After some time had ended up passing by Samiel decided to give up as he was not finding anthing here either and decided to find another suitable patch of grass to look in yet again. Thinking through things Samiel supposed that while the quest itself might not be too difficult materials gathered in this way might not be too common unless there was a way to help boost the chances. As Samiel continued to walk he thought over how it might more sense for there to be herbs potentially for the healing potion that these materials would end up being used to make but knew they were not necessary as there were different ways to go about making a healing potion.

Samiel continued to work his way through the streets of the Town of Beginnings and finally out the city’s gates finding himself in the grasslands outside the city. He continued a bit further away before he crouched down and started to look around in the grass for any possible plants that would constitute as materials.

After a bit of looking Samiel was unable to find any materials and started to walk off to find another spot while making sure to keep an eye on his surroundings to avoid any potential surprise attacks. He thought for a moment that maybe he would have a better chance of getting materials if he headed further away from the city but decided against it as it shouldn’t really improve his odds. Samiel continued on to walk wondering how long this whole process of material gathering might take but regardless of the time at least it wasn’t too difficult.

Samiel quickly approached the man and greeted him and listened as he told him how Sam looked new around these parts and if he would like some help getting adjusted to things here. After Zackariah had finished speaking Samiel noticed a notification come up for the quest to which he accepted which prompted Zackariah to continue to speak. He listened as Zackariah told him while many people could craft things from materials dropped by the various creatures that roamed outside of towns that not all materials needed to be obtained this way and if one had a keen enough eye they could forage materials without having to fight. The old man then told him that it might be best to get a feel for this himself and to bring him back five materials without fighting monsters for them. Samiel agreed and proceeded to make his way out of the town.

Samiel found himself walking around in the Town of Beginnings trying to decide what he should be doing next. He knew he was behind various others due in part to the time it took him to get readjusted to this new lifestyle everyone had been forced into but he needed to start somewhere. He thought over the various rumors and information he had managed to gather from others either directly or from just overhearing it and decided it might be best to just start simply with a quest meant for beginners that was part of a quest line known as The First Few Lessons are Free. Having made up his mind he took note of his surroundings and started to make his way to where the quest was supposed to start making his way through the various streets from where he was. Eventually he found himself in front of a building with an old male NPC nearby named Zackariah.

Strengths:

 

~ Christian- Samiel being a Christian has helped him in multiple ways and done a lot for him in his life. Some things that have come from being saved and going along his Christian walk with the Lord are his patience, honesty, selflessness and the desire to help others in addition to various other changes with himself and in his life. In addition to these things Samiel will try and spread the Gospel when he is able. Finally Samiel knows there are places to improve as well. (In terms of RP this can come up in various ways such as being caring/kind hearted, forgiving, slower to anger/patience, being able to potentially remain calmer during situation and also being less bothered by the prospect of death. However like the other Strengths/Flaws this is not something that may always come up).

 

~ Leader- In terms of leadership Samiel was in a program in high school to help develop his leadership skills and has also developed them over time on his own. When in a leadership position by his choice he has found he enjoys it. While Samiel knows he isn’t the best leader as there can always be someone better he does the best he can. (In terms of RP this can potentially come into play if he ever leads a party or starts a Guild as it can go into why he might know how to handle things to a certain degree based on past experience and training).

 

~ Determined- When Samiel wants something he finds himself more motivated and tries harder to obtain or do what that thing is. This isn’t however always helpful or work towards some things Samiel would like. (In terms of RP this can be an explanation to why he seems more driven to do certain things).

 

Flaws:

 

~ Blunt- While Samiel can be honest he sometimes puts things in the wrong wording and is unintentionally blunt. However unintentional it may be he will apologize for it if it hurt someone or Samiel thinks it might of upon realizing what was just said. Samiel works to improve on this aspect of himself and as such the instances of being blunt he thinks are decreasing. (In RP this can pop up randomly in dialogue leading to Samiel potentially trying to apologize to someone later).

 

~ Bad Conversationalist- Samiel isn’t sure if he can really hold conversations that well at times with people he doesn’t know well or doesn’t have as much in common with. In addition to this Samiel has trouble at times picking up on sarcasm, when people are joking around and body language. However despite this Samiel works to improve at such and still tries when it comes to conversing with others as well as pick up on sarcasm and joking as well as body language which is improving somewhat over time. (In RP this and his  into explaining some potential weird dialogue or ways he interacts with others and showing how he may not be the greatest Socially).

 

~ Trust Issues- Samiel is a bit weird with trusting people with various aspects of things whether it be about himself or something else. As such he has varying amounts in which trusts others. Gaining trust for others at times could take some time and potentially harder to regain if the trust is broken. (In RP this may never come up but can potentially lead to him being a bit shielded towards others until they are around enough/he gets to know them better).

 

Personality:

 

Samiel is relatively easy enough to get along with though he may not necessarily be one to start up conversations. While he can be a bit blunt at times it is something he is working on among other things but regardless people seem to be ok with him. He enjoys his free time and likes to read and come up with different creative things be it a story idea or an idea for a game even. In addition to this he also enjoys talking to his friends, playing games, listening to music and various other things on a computer. While he doesn’t seem to play too much in terms of MMO games he decided he would try out the first full dive virtual reality game for the Nervegear.

 

 

Samiel Lucien is from a middle class family in Ohio that seemed to get along okay. He has two older step-brothers who have moved out and a little half brother who lives with their Mom, Samiel’s Step Dad, and himself of which he has a decent relationship with. While he may still live at home at the age of 29 rent free he still helps out here and there with things and does what he is currently able to job wise working part time. Samiel was however in College at one point in time but due to financial problems he had to stop attending. While not currently attending College however he does want to go back at some point and has it on his sort of “To-Do” list. When not working Samiel will spend a good amount of time at a computer doing something or another whether it be playing games, listening to music, watching videos or what have you. Now that isn’t to say he doesn’t do other things or get out as he also enjoys time out with the friends he has around him, attending Church and doing various things away from a computer. In addition Samiel will at times come up with different creative ideas be it for a story, a game or something else.

 

While Samiel normally didn’t play MMOs that much when SAO came around he thought it would be interesting to try it with the Nervegear and might be an entertaining experience. At such using money from his part time job Samiel used connections he had made over the years online and managed to get the Nervegear along with SAO. However when he started playing it didn’t take all too long to find out he was trapped in the game. As bothersome as this was he did what he could to stay positive and after praying he set out on his way in an attempt to see what he could do to get out of the game. Finally he thought that if he is able it might be nice to try and help others where he can as well and possibly make a Guild based off of a group from one of his stories he had come up with in the past. While this was on his mind in addition to it he also wondered if maybe he might find the kind of girl he was looking to have a relationship with but thought it might be better to not get his hopes necessarily too high on such.
