  1. "Well Tristan, I can see how you got the Achilles unique skill," he said looking over his gear once again, "I hope there's no Patroclus though." He drew his sword and looked at Tristan. "This will be my first real experience of combat so any tips would be greatly appreciated... along with not dying," he said with a chuckle. As he tested the balance of the blade in his hand he looked at the Nepents. "As long as you keep them off me this should go smoothly I'm assuming." This guy has a lot going for him he thought. A lot to lose that's for sure, but he claims that he's invincible because of that Achilles skill although I can only assume it would be named such due to it still having a weakness. It can't be the heel could it? That would be too... obvious and cliche. "Well, I'm ready to go when you are, Commandant."

  2. Komrk continues to scan the tavern nervously and his eye catches the cloaked stranger who was approached by Macradon but seemed to ignore him. As Macradon said his farewells, Komrk turned to him, "Thank you for the offer and I'll make sure to let you know if I ever need any help. Stay alive out there." he says with a chuckle and gives a two fingered salute with his right hand as Macradon walks away. He sat there brooding for a second before turning to stranger and motioning for her to come over to the table. "You know, I'm not one to lecture, but he was trying to be friendly, the least you could do is answer him. But that's not any of my business." He leaned back in his chair and sighed. "My name's Komrk, what's yours?" he says with a slight smile trying to be sociable. Being sociable can be taxing and today has been quite a whirlwind of conversation. He rubs his eyes with his index finger and thumb before holding the bridge of his nose between them. It may only be a game but it sure as hell can still make you tired. He runs a shop eh, I'll have to check that out at some point, not that I have any clue where that is.

  3. Komrk watched as the girl and the man with the eloquence of a block of wood walked out and sat there for a moment. The man who had been eavesdropping had accused him of being rude and yet... hypocrites are everywhere. As they exited the tavern, the man who had been called Macaroon or something by the eavesdropper offered his help and Komrk looked over at Antofer. "Well it would appear that we've been cut out of the original deal. Are you still up for helping out a FNG? And if so, do you think we'll need their help as well?" He turns to the two men standing over the table. "I wouldn't want to waste your time if I don't have to. It looks as if you guys might have more important things to do than help out level ones. Either way, the hypocrite was correct, my name is Komrk by the way." He began tapping his fingers on the table in a staccato rhythm as he began trying to figure out everything that had happened so far.

  4. Komrk nodded and turned as the stranger gave his answer. Now that he was closer, he could see that the man was rather imposing given his appearance but he seemed willing to help. Maybe he could be one of those looking to get people alone to kill them, but at this point he had no choice but to trust someone, otherwise he wouldn't get anywhere in this world. As much as he would have preferred to run solo, being new and inexperienced, that would be pretty close to suicide. Eyeing the man again, his gaze lingered on the shield and he spoke up, "I've been wondering, where do you get a shield? I don't really have money at the moment so is there a different quest I should take to get one or just save up to buy one from a player shop?" Internally he kicked himself for his rudeness and turn to the man and extended his hand. "My name is Komrk by the way, what's yours? And I apologize for all the questions. Anyway, this quest wants me to find one of these Nepents with a red flower on its head. Are you doing the quest as well? It seems a bit low level for you, not that I mind the help or company." Well, let's hope this partnership goes well, a better sword can only help out.

Looking around he saw Nepents close by and his blood started flowing faster. A mixture of fear and excitement was causing his adrenaline to flow and his heart to beat faster. He momentarily closed his eyes and slowed his breathing before open his eyes again, his heartbeat slowly coming down. Soon enough he would get his first taste of combat in this world, and then he would know if he was ready for his own foreseeable future or not.

  5. Komrk sits down and leans back in the chair looking at Antofer. "You're pretty... confident aren't you?" he says as he turns to the girl, "I have no clue if everyone is this helpful, but we both need help and they're offering it. As Antofer here said, strength in numbers and it's pretty dangerous. I know I don't have a death wish and I doubt anyone here does if they're still alive." He fidgets with the sword on his back and continues eyeing the tavern nervously. "While I'm not personally looking to get a familiar, I'm more than willing to tag along to help out and I figure it could work both ways." Turning back to Antofer he smiles, "At the very least, I'm willing to party up with you, and if you think you can get us all the way to Floor 100, I figure you'll want a tank there with you." He considered getting a drink like everyone else but alcohol had never been much to his taste, it only ever gave him a headache anyway. "I'm not much one for trust, and maybe even those who warn you may be out to get you..." he declares as he raises an eyebrow at Antofer for a moment before laughing, "It's not like I have much of a choice anyway."

  6. Komrk eyes the bar as he walks in. There was the usual bustle to be expected from any tavern but two men with extraordinarily large weapons seemed to be talking to what could only be a level one. The man with the axe seemed to be acting stiffly, even from this distance, towards the man in red and white. Not a bad color scheme come to think of it, very similar to the Knights Templar of whom he had always taken a liking. Maybe they were offering her help, which is what led to him approaching where they were seated. While he didn't mind the thought of death, he didn't want to die senselessly due to overconfidence or stupidity. Either way, it couldn't hurt to check out what was going on, I guess it's time to be social he thought as he grimaced. Approaching the group, he saw the girl looking down seemingly uncomfortable.

As he reached the group, he stands next to where the group is sitting, crosses his arms and says, "What's with the party?"

Hopefully they can help him out. At the very least, he may be able to party up with the level one. Anything will help at this point.

  7. Komrk sheathed his sword before standing up to stretch. This game was so real, but did he really need to stretch, or was it just such a part of normal life that he did it without thinking? How realistic this game truly is, needing sleep, feeling like you need to eat, and so on. Even the death aspect is real he thought as he grimaced, but at least maybe I can find a purpose here that I never could in the "real world". The "real world", such an interesting idea when this game was as life and death as the so called real world. No, this was his real world now, and there could be no room for blurring the two. This world was now his home whether he liked it or not, and death is just as real according to the "opening ceremony". Maybe his death could have some value here. It's not that he wants to die, more that he never quite felt like he belonged in the old world and now he could find purpose, and maybe in getting everyone else freed from this world, he could give his life to save another. Maybe death would be better than returning to the old world, but only time will tell if this world yields new answers or some meaning to live beyond it.

"Man that's depressing," he mutters to himself taking another look around. This time he sees a figure wandering through the forest and tries to look closer at the stranger. He notices that the stranger is pretty well equipped, far beyond his own equipment to say the least. Maybe he could help me out, he looks pretty tough Komrk thinks as he starts to make his way towards him. And, well, if he tries to kill me, it's not as if I could have hidden anyway. Ok, time to be social. "Hello there! I was wondering if I could ask for your help with this quest. It seems I've gotten in over my head on this one," he says as he waves to the stranger.

  8. A village in need of medicine eh? Seems like the average quest in most MMOs, not that this really counts as "most MMOs" he thought as he grimaced. As he reached the area that the NPC had told him about, he looked out and saw a fair number of plant like creatures walking around with the name "Nepent" floating above their heads. Given their numbers, it probably wouldn't be best to go down there alone would it? Well, I may have in fact gotten myself in over my head on this one. Maybe someone else will come along doing this quest, can't hurt to wait. He sits down on the ground and runs his hand through his short brown hair. Thankfully, hair was one of the few aspects of your avatar that you could control, by the time we get out my hair will be unbearably long he thought while looking around.

As he sat waiting, he took in the view around him. This full dive technology sure was something to marvel at, the feel of the wind on your face, the grass in your hands and the rain in your hair. Maybe not quite the rain, the system doesn't seem to have perfected the feeling of water, but it was close enough. Even the weather closely matches what it should be in the real world. It's supposed to be cold right now, at least that's what everyone is saying, but I always used to live for the cold. Either way, someone better come along soon or else I'll have to go back to town and try to be sociable to find people to help me out with this quest. He drew his longsword and sat there running his palm along the flat of the blade.

"Still need to get combat down..." he says as he continues to watch for other players nearby.

  9. Komrk eyed the tavern carefully before entering. He saw no point in hanging out in taverns but he had to look somewhere for people to work with. He sighed as he pushed open the door. If only I hadn't let the depression take over, then I wouldn't be so far behind those in the front. It's not that I'm afraid of death or danger, but the lack of motivation caused by the depression was... a set back to say the least. As he entered the tavern, he looked around through the crowd looking for people who could be valuable to him. As he scanned the room, he saw someone straighten up too quickly directly into the table edge. He smiled and shook his head, these people... Oh well, as good a place to start as any. He approaches the table and folds his arms.

"Smooth one kid, so what are you people doing here?" His gaze passes between the three, and lingers for a while on the one clearly out of place in such a low level area.

  10. Profile
    Username: Komrk
    Real name: Liam
    Age: 26
    Gender: Male
    Height: 6'2

    About: History/personality

Liam grew up in the country and never particularly liked crowds. He grew up in a fairly average, upper middle class family. From a young age he enjoyed sports as well as computer games. Growing up, his mother worked a number of different jobs throughout the years and his father was in the military. He and his older brother spent a lot of time playing outside and camping both alone and with family. Liam went to a private school through 4th grade and around the time of middle school, he and his brother began to drift and become more combative in their relationship. This is around the time that he drifted more towards gaming and began to immerse himself in the games. For a long time he played entirely shooters until a couple of his friends from a clan he was in introduced him to MMOs. While he was above average intelligence, he lacked the motivation to do his schoolwork and his grades suffered despite doing well on almost every test he took. Because of this, he did not get into college and instead began working in labor jobs.

Liam had spent most of his time gaming in two guilds. While never trying to gain power, in both he ended up in fairly high positions in both. The first was a revised realism gaming clan that he spent nearly four years as part of and through his dedication and hard work, he became the only member to bypass the rule against under 18s not being allowed to become officers (being 15 at the time of that promotion). He eventually would leave the clan due to a change in the attitude of the guild, a change in the upper echelons that focused more on realism aspect than having fun, and a variety of problems that went unsolved despite multiple reports. While he did not want to leave, he could not stay while the issue went unsolved and he parted ways. The other guild was a friend of his from MMOs and crossed multiple games. While it took him a while to reach the upper ranks, his dedication and loyalty again were what eventually got him that far, and at one point was left in charge of attempting to rebuild the guild in one game during the leader's absence. Despite his failure to do so, and so exemplifying his lack of sociability required to lead a guild, he spent a long time as the second in command of that guild due to his ability to read the attitude of the guild and it's members. It was only due to a falling out between himself and the guild leader that he eventually faded from that guild as well and eventually ended up playing with a select few of his friends. That is until 2022, when the announcement of a new MMO using full dive virtual reality technology which had previously only been used for educational uses. He made sure that he was going to get his hands on that game, and when the day of the launch came, he was excited to see this new technology in action. A game where you're actually IN the game. This is what he had been waiting for all his life, and he hadn't even known it.

    Virtues:

Komrk is Loyal to a fault. He will fight and die for those he is close to, even if that death is real. Some would consider this a good thing, and others bad, but it is simply how Komrk is. When he grows close to someone, he will not leave their side unless told to, and even then he will watch over them from a distance. If someone messes with his friends, they mess with him, no matter how outnumbered or outclassed he is. He will never leave one of his friends behind, even if it costs him his life.

Komrk is a heavily Impartial person to the core. He does not believe in any set "right" and "wrong" so to speak. He is a moral nihilist, believing that some things have more negative impacts than others, but nothing is intrinsically good or bad. He prefers to listen to both sides of the story and determine for himself. He does not get caught up in mob justice and believes that every situation is different. This can often lead to him playing devil's advocate or on the wrong side of those who believe that they are the all knowing masters of morality as often happens in mob justice. This can cause problems with some of the more "holy pain"-esque people who believe that they have the moral high ground and so, he will often avoid those people.

Komrk is an Orderly individual. He likes to know that there's a place for everything and everything is in it's place. He is good at organizing large groups and keeping cool in the middle of battle. Due to this, he is often left to deal with the logistics whether it's in game or in real life. The reliability of his organization skills is what helps him advance within large groups quickly and while unsocial, this virtue is just as good when it comes to leadership positions.

    Flaws:

Komrk is a Callous person. Unless he views you as a friend or someone he can trust, he will not go out of his way to help you, and may even just ignore you. He is not necessarily heartless, if he feels that your story legitimately warrants his help, he will help you, but he has very limited and fluid reasons that might warrant his attention to your cause. He also does not visibly show emotion, because he believes that is exposes him so to speak, and he is a very private person, except around those that he is extraordinarily comfortable with.

Komrk is very Sarcastic, and uses it often with people he deems to be beneath him. Sarcasm is his go to form of mockery, and he as much enjoys those who don't see that it is sarcasm, as much as those who recognize it and get angry at him. He is a master instigator and will often use blatant sarcasm in order to frustrate and anger someone purely because they messed with him or insulted him. While this can often lead to him making enemies, he could care less because these are already people that he had no interest in befriending in the first place, or who have lost that opportunity with him.

Komrk is also very Withdrawn. He does not go out of his way to make friends and is not social in most situations. He talks to those he is friends with, and those he has to either out of necessity, boredom, or etiquette. He is not particularly friendly to strangers, but he is not outright rude either. He is to the point when making conversation with those he has no interest in. He will not speak unless he is spoken to, or has something worth saying and he often looks down on small talk with strangers as drivel.
