  1. Solaire nodded as Sir Blackwood gave him a plan that he should follow. He knew he was a bit weak so waiting behind and watching would be best, just as he had recommended. He hopped to learn a bit more from this field boss fight on how the system worked since that knowledge very well could save him in the future. Especially if he desired to reach the point to where he could be one of those players who one shot these bosses, which he most definitely did. As they walked he intentionally missed a few strides so that the two tanks were already in front of him, thinking it was best to be prepared before the battle commenced than trying to move when things started happening. When the mention of the cold was brought up Solaire couldn't help but smile. "I must agree with you Sir Blackwood, I enjoy this rather freezing weather. Reminds me of the winters from my homeland which is always comforting to be reminded of in such a situation." Solaire waited for the field boss to move as the group slowly approached, the glories of battle and the desire for victory starting to build up in him already. He would have to keep his cool so as to not get himself killed, but staying his blade from a fight was not something he was particularly fond of.

  2. Solaire nodded slightly as he was told to stay in the back once again and let the others deal with the boss. Sensible enough, though he held his doubts on whether he would wait long enough. He wanted to smite beasts with his righteous blade and it was hard to do that from afar. However, he would most definitely do his best to stay back a bit and let them take the brunt of the force. It was not an honourable tactic but probably necessary for the low health that he had. Solaire led his small party out into the ice fields and walked for a bit, wondering just what this boss would look like. He felt a slight thud and looked around and, sure enough, there was one mighty monster. It stood quite a few metres tall and was made solidly of ice. It had to be the field boss that he was searching for which meant a fight was most likely imminent. "Is that Marshmallow, as you called it?" Solaire took his two-handed weapon off his back and gripped it tightly in his strong hands, ready to approach and carve some ice.

  3. While they were walking, Solaire smiled warmly as Avilon seemed to be down and stepped forward, clapping her soundly on the shoulder and held onto her lightly. "Well, I might be weak right now and my advice may mean little, but if the real world holds any sway in this one then you have nothing to fear. As long as you keep your blade sharp and your mind sharper you will be fine. If anything, come to me and you will always have an available shield-brother by your side ready to join you where ever you go." Solaire maintained his wide smile, trying to impart some confidence into the small tank who seemed to be having a bit of a rough time. That was one thing he did not wish for within his party and if he could solve it he would. "Sir Nikodemus, do you have any advice for me on this monster? I appreciated what you said for the large wasp we took down and would appreciate any more you might have. Will there be smaller monsters such as those tiny wasps to worry about?" He looked over his shoulder at the knight who was following, a bright curiosity in his eyes at the chance for any insider information on the coming enemy.

    @Avilon

  4. Solaire watched the dispute between the three girls grow to the climax with the red-head admitting it was all a facade for the sake of infuriating everyone to make them strike harder. This sort of tactic disgusted him and in no way represented the chivalrous mentality that he held. He saw them as knights and knights should not have had to resort to such underhanded tactics to accomplish a task. As Solaire walked up to the rock, preparing a stance to throw a punch, he spoke his mind. "In my experience, an army or group of any soldiers works best when united. Give them a cause, whether it be gold, God, or glory, soldiers fight best united." Solaire through his fist forward and landed a solid punch, spreading the web of cracks even further and he backed off. "We are all soldiers here, soldiers in a perpetual war against this evil world. Disunion as you have caused, Lady Crimsa, that will only hurt in the long run, even if it gives a momentary boost." He turned to Hakai and looked her in the eyes. "If you would not mind, Lady Hakai. I believe one more punch would finish off this boulder." Solaire then took his place at the back of the group and waited for the rock to crumble beneath someone's fist.

  5. Solaire watched as the small party seemed to dissolve into chaos. The red head seemed absolutely furious over the whiskers and was belittling the group over one punch that, when inspected closer, really had not dealt too much damage at all. Her insults had been childish and held no merit, not bothering Solaire in the slightest. The party leader, Hakai, seemed to be in absolute distress over the fact such little damage had been done. And the purple-headed one seemed irritated by the red-head and slammed her fist into the rock to do some damage. Then the brunette broke up the small flare of anger and Solaire admired him for that, especially when he showed his strength and slammed his fist into the rock quickly multiple times, the boulder's health dropping significantly. Solaire nodded and stepped forward, deciding to take another attempt at hitting the rock. He seemed to not quite grasp the concept behind the rock hitting though because once again, his fist skidded across the surface of the rock and dealt no damage.

  6. Solaire sent the item to his inventory with a nod, making a silent promise to himself to do just that. He would live up to that whenever he was strong enough to help the meek. For now, though, he had to get a whole lot stronger and force himself to the front. Soon he would be the one charging in while the beginners sat behind and watched in amazement as he crushed large monsters with one or two strikes. Solaire turned and headed back towards Urbus with his party members and was shocked to see a small window pop up in front of him letting him know of a friend request. Without hesitation, Solaire hit the accept-button and he had a new addition to his social life in this world. With a sudden though he accessed his menus and headed to the social tab and sent a quick friend request over to Nikodemus, just to complete the triangle. He could easily see himself partying with one or both of them in the future, whether to help him or for frontline purposes.

  7. Solaire listened as the knight informed him of the busy shop and the various events around Aincrad. This event, though, he would have to look into this later and see if he could get involved. Solaire turned his attention to the crow as it flew in and a young woman ran in, dressed in full armor and with her shield in hand. He guessed this to be Avilon, the tank whom Nikodemus had invited along on the quest. He bowed to the knightess, "Good day to you, Lady Avilon." Standing up straight Solaire nodded as Nikodemus mentioned if everyone was ready. He could feel the weight of his large sword on his back and that was all that he had to prepare. He was as ready as he would ever be so he turned to Avilon. "Whenever you are ready to depart then, I am prepared for the coming quest as well."

  8. Solaire waited by the rock, studying the brunette beside him. He seemed perfectly capable of completing this quest on his own. No matter, though, Solaire would do his best to contribute in any way possible. Finally, he saw the three girls approaching and an old man behind him, presumably the NPC sensei. The NPC was carrying some sort of black paint in his hands which Solaire was incapable of guessing the use of. Solaire bowed to the wizened sensei and watched as the NPC approached, dipping his fingers into the paint. Without complaint he accepted the whiskers, knowing full well that complaining tended only to anger masters and result in more grueling punishments. He turned back to the rock and watched Hakai's fist not land truly on the rock and frowned slightly. This could easily take a while if they could not land damaging blows. He smiled slightly as the redhead complained at the whiskers and not bother attacking the rock. The purple-haired one struck the rock after her partner had and seemed to wince. Then she received the whiskers and started to complain, only causing Solaire to smile a bit more. Feeling that it was his turn Solaire approached the rock and sized up to it, dancing lightly on his feet as he tried to remember his real world training in unarmed combat. After he took a stance he threw his fist forward and felt the full force of his weight land behind the blow. The rock stood resilient though and Solaire realized that flimsy punches anywhere on the rock would not do. The core was probably the place to punch since blows on the edge of the boulder would do little to affect the integrity of the large rock.

  9. So, Solaire had guessed correctly in the strength of his companions. Watching the knight Nikodemus strike the insect with a godly power, which did a lot more damage than he had done, and then watching Seul finish it off as though it were nothing made Solaire realize just how much of a disparity there was in this game between the low-level players and even just mid level players. There was a really big need for him to get a whole lot stronger if he were going to make his mark on this game. The queen simply crumpled into pixels after the swift and crushing blows of his companions and Seul bent over and tossed something to him. "You two made that look way too easy, just thought I would say," he said as the item sailed towards him. Catching it in the air, Solaire realized it was the stinger of the mighty queen. "Surely one of you will accept this as a reward. I would really like to pay you two for your services to me." He looked up at the two knights before him, wondering what form of payment he could make for them having come and fought for him.

Solaire watched as Nikodemus ran in, whirling his axe around like the ancient Norse beserkers, and absolutely decimated the group of wasps. He smiled slightly, happy with the easy victory over the smaller enemies. Now onto the Queen and they would soon be done. Solaire looked up at the sky and watched as the queen descended upon their group and charged forward. He charged forward with Seul, not wanting to be behind at all even if it placed him in danger, and as soon as he saw Seul's guard slip he charged in, the large blade wielded high once more. Solaire brought the blade down in a diagonal slash, cutting across the Queen's abdomen right above the stinger which had just slightly injured Seul. After he recovered himself from the weight of his large sword he backed off slightly, not stupid enough to stick around and wait to be hit. Rather he called out to Nikodemus, "Come Sir Nikodemus, it is your turn to smite the foe!" Solaire backed off quite a bit, not really expecting there to be much enemy left for him to fight once his two comrades landed their attacks. He had watched Nikodemus absolutely decimate the smaller ones and Seul was supposed to be stronger. He would be lucky to get the chance to strike again.

  11. Solaire looked forwards, leading the party of two out of the town and onto the road towards the Forest of Wavering Mist. He nodded slightly at the man's promise to his guild about it. Of course, he had heard of the KoB and to be given rank in such a guild would be a fast track to success. Along the way, he might learn a few tips that would only augment his strength and make him all the more capable in this world. When the knight mentioned how he had yet to complete the quest Solaire nodded slightly at the mention of rewards. "Speaking of rewards, a piece of armour is promised. I doubt that it is of much use to you but I will offer it now. Would you care for that reward as compensation for helping me? I try to pay off my debts as I receive them." It was just an aspect that had been hammered into him back home. Debts could be a horrifying thing and his father had made sure his son knew how important it was not to be in debt.

  12. (OOC: I like that song xD Hit the link and greatly enjoyed it. +rep for good tastes. Thanks so much for the howl O.o)

Solaire led his small party into the fields, the buzzing of wasp's wings easily heard on the still air. Solaire went ahead and drew his two-handed sword from his back, gripping the sword in his strong hands. He watched as Seul took a few steps ahead of the group, right into the middle of a group of wasps, and began roaring. Whatever special ability that had been it greatly agitated the beasts and they immediately attack the man. Seul managed to catch all the stingers on his shield as they came in, an impressive feat with the four wasps having surrounded him. With a nod, Solaire charged forward and readied an attack. Nathan ran up to one of the wasps while it was focused on the man in the middle of the group and raised his sword into the sky. With a glitter of sunlight upon his blade and a most righteous yell he brought the blade down on the poor bug, a huge blow that sent the beast flying through the air and crashing to the ground. The wasp picked itself up off the ground with its large wings and seemed to be buzzing angrily as it tried to decide to attack Solaire or the yelling man. Obviously, the system was pulling the wasp's attention to the man because even with that mighty blow it went to go join its brothers in the attack.

  13.

Solaire watched as Xion put on a more magnificent set of armour, amazed by the make of it. He definitely trusted the man's words, that he would be able to deal with this quest easily. The man definitely seemed capable enough, especially with that new piece of armour and the dangerous looking spear. He certainly seemed much more dangerous than Solaire himself did. He listened as Xion explained the two aspects of helping lower levels that were significant enough to advocate the task. He was such a low level that the SP factor mattered little to him, it would eventually but at the moment it was insignificant compared to the SP given by quests. The recruiting made sense, though, combing through the new recruits tended to lead to pleasant surprises as one found a good soldier within them all. Solaire nodded slightly and replied, "That makes sense. I hope that I seem worthy enough to fight in the name of your guild. Brothers and sisters to fight beside would be a comfortable feeling. I am weak at the moment but I swear on the Lord, I will be strong in this game." It was most definitely a promise which he would make sure tha he kept and his resolve most likely showed in his eyes as he looked back at Xion.

  14. Solaire had been waiting eagerly for either of his companions to arrive. He did not know this Avilon person but Nikodemus trusted her so that was plenty. When he received a message to just look for some woman in heavy armour and wielding a kite shield he did indeed look for such a woman to travel past the teleport plaza but he did not see any. The first companion to arrive, as Solaire had expected, was Nikodemus. Solaire nodded slightly to the bow, "Guten abend." Solaire watched as Nikodemus spoke to his raven and sent it away after a brief search, presumably for Avilon. He could not wait to meet this woman who was apparently another tank, that would be interesting to see. "Thanks so much for rushing out here sir knight, I am glad to be in your company once more. Please tell, how are you fairing recently? All is well I would hope." Solaire looked over Nikodemus, satisfied with what he saw. Once again he would be greatly pleased to have such a fine soldier fighting by his side. This "snowcone" as he put it would stand little chance under their righteous blades. With the added help of Avilon, as long as she truly was an addition, the fight would be easy. He was always glad to have a capable troop with him, especially in this game where his strength was defined by a computer.

  15. (my lord xD Keep one of them up to date. And now that I realize it having him named after a DS character makes it an awkward RP whenever they mention the game and I wanted him to have no knowledge of it xD)

Solaire watched as the man accepted his apology and mentioned some sort of reference, obviously a reference that had flown over his head. With a shrug he accepted the man's strange mumblings, he saw nothing wrong with his name and he knew of no reference that could possibly fit it. Unless some game had used his home estate's name for something else and that was what Xion was referring to, but if that was so Solaire was clueless to it. "Then let's head out quickly and be done with this." Solaire beckoned for the blonde to follow and began heading towards the shop which harboured the quest he intended to do. "I still have to go accept the quest. I had wanted to wait until a group of companions had developed before truly starting it." They now reached the master blacksmith Griswold's shop and Solaire looked back at Xion. "I should not be terribly long if you do not mind waiting a bit. Come in if you wish but I should be in and out." Solaire walked into the shop with this said and walked up to Griswold. He quickly initiated the quest and listened as Griswold said he would make a piece of armour for Solaire as long as Solaire could bring back some materials. After being given a location and a monster to fight Solaire exited the shop, now officially on the quest <<Worn Out Welcome>>. Solaire turned to Xion, beckoning once more. "And we're off. I would like to go ahead and thank you, especially if you are bored of these types of quest. If I may ask, why do you do them if you are tired of them? Why not go seek some challenge? I know that is what I would do if I were in your shoes." Solaire saw helping beginner level players as a noble cause, sure. It just seemed like it would get tiresome quickly having to do the same thing over and over again. Maybe it was just a factor of being strong in this game, you helped the weak. It made sense and it was a kindhearted goal, Solaire just felt he was bound for better than that.

  16. (Oh, I paid no mind to your sig xD I looked over your journal and saw the spear skill so I just assumed you were using a spear. I'll edit that to sword real quick. Sorry about that. Should have read the inventory a bit more in-depth. You guessed right about the mispronunciation, though. I hope you can forgive those mistakes. By the way, not gonna be a Solaire build)

Solaire looked suitably embarrassed at being corrected on the pronunciation of the name and the embarrassment turned to confusion at the mention of incandescence. He had little desire to become so hot that he would begin to glow. "Well, my apologies Xion," he made sure to pronounce it the way the young knight had and mentally made a note to keep that in mind for future encounters. "I did not mean to mispronounce your name. Thank you for correcting me. As for incandescence, I truly have no clue what you are talking about. The sun is beautiful and all but I do not believe I will be going around praising it so much that I want to be it." Solaire turned towards the sun and inspected it, making a guess at the time. "Well, unless you desire to wait around a bit longer or ask anyone else to join our band of knights then I believe we should head out." Turning back to the blond man who would be accompaning him. "Are there any questions or shall we depart?"

  17. Solaire did not have to look around for long. A few minutes after he had received the message he saw someone teleport onto the third floor. The blonde man was considerably short but was wearing heavy armour and had a large shield equipped. It seemed that he would be able to take some damage and the spear on his back indicated he could deal it as well. Once more Solaire realised just how weak he was in this game whereas in the real world he probably would be able to have squished this man. Either way, he seemed well enough prepared for a journey that there was a good chance that he was the man. "Hail! By chance, are you Xion? My name is Giant Dad, though if you find that unsuitable I will respond to Astora. You seem like the type of man whom could take a few blows. If you happen to not be the man I am looking for I could always do with another knightly brother to fight by my side." Solaire extended his arm forward, hand open for a handshake as a greeting. Solaire's hand was worn with work, both from wielding a sword and wielding a hoe, and it was strong, providing a firm handshake when given.

  18. It was a beautiful day on the third floor and Solaire had sent out yet another call for help from the players of Aincrad for yet another quest that he thought would be enjoyable to take. A little bit of fighting and hopefully a new piece of armour, both of which were appealing to the young knight. One player had responded to him, some knight by the name Xion. Solaire could not be picky with usernames because his was by no means normal but in his opinion, that name belonged in a science fiction novel. No matter, as long as his blade was sharp and true then he was welcome to join for a man of any caliber as long as he was brave was worth spending some time with. Solaire waited on the third floor, having messaged Xion back telling him to meet Solaire by the teleportation plaza before they went out to do the quest. For the time being, while he waited, Solaire stood proudly and watched for anyone that might seem to be his next companion, wondering who exactly he would meet this time in this expansive world. On this he pondered, as well as a few minor items, while he waited for the companion to approach.

  19. Solaire had just finished preparing what little gear he had for a new quest of which he was about to partake in. The german knight, Nikodemus, had mentioned another quest which he and a friend could help with just to help him further along and Solaire did not mind the help at all. He knew he had to be prepared so he was doing his best to suppress his pride and deal with it. Solaire had looked into the quest and knew a bit about the monster which they had to defeat and honestly had no clue why he was going along with the mission. He would be lucky to leave a scratch on the thing with the toothpick of a weapon that he had but Nikodemus had said everything would be alright. Generally, Solaire would listen to those above him, especially when they had a whole lot more experience than he did. Just a part of dealing with the court life, no matter how high you were there was someone higher than you and you listened to that higher up. With a sigh, he stood up and looked around the town that he was in. Snowfrost town he believed it to be called. It was really cold here but he did not mind terribly so, it got cold in Scotland quite often and one just got used to it. Solaire brought his hand up and then swiped it down to access his menus then went to the messenger and made a quick message to his party members, letting them know where to come meet him so they could conquer this challenge.
