  1. Eventually, after about an hour and a half, I reach the cave I need to get to. I take a deep breath and enter.

The entire cave is part of one big cave system, I'll have to try not get lost. The cave lookso about 7 meters wide by 8 meters high. It's a circle with the bottom crushed into a square. That's good so I have some even ground to stand on. "So I'm looking for steel.... what the hell does steel look like?" I think to myself. Guess I'm looking for a glint of metal or something. My hand is on my rapier at all times, the sheer thought of getting found by a PKer terrifies me. This is gonna be hard.

  2. "Okay then, son. I'm going to have to ask formally. Do you want to become a blacksmith?" He asked. Suddenly a prompt came up and said "Do you accept the quest 'Making a Living'?" I smirked. This was gonna be great, I knew it. I immediately accepted the request.

"Great!" First thing you'll have to do is gather some materials and ores for a craft. You'll need a pickaxe. Here" He held out a copper pickaxe, smiling. I took the pickaxe out of his hands. "Thank you. I'll take good care of it." I smirked. Today was the start of my career. The start of my life.

"Okay. Then you'll have to go down to the cave, just outside the city. You'll need 3 steel ore to create your craft. It'll probably be a sword and so it only needs 3." He explains.

    "Happy mining! "

  3. As I stepped into the shop, I saw an old man. He sported a short beard and a largely receding hairline. He was hammering away at a glowing ingot on the anvil. The sound was deafening. I was ready. He didn't have a player tag or an icon above him so he was an NPC. "Sir! Excuse me, sir!" I shouted, trying to talk over the sound of his hammering. "He doesn't hear me at all!" I think to myself. I walk up to him and tap him on the shoulder. I accidentally startled him itseems as he jumps and doesn't look to happy.

"What the hell!?" He shouts, obviously unhappy."Damn. You made me ruin my craft." He says, a little calmer this time.

"I'm sorry!" I say quickly in defence. "I didn't mean to startle you like that." I say, hoping it'll be taken as an apology.

"It's okay, now that I know your intentions." He smiles and replies. "anyway, what brings you here? Custom weapons or armour? I'll be happy to deliver if so."

"No." I say bluntly. "I want to become a blacksmith."

"Straight forward eh? You'll be great."

  4. I stood at the foot of the entrance to the smithy's. "Today I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna become a blacksmith!" I thought to myself. "Yeah. It's gonna happen. Today." I sworn to follow my dreams. I won't break that swear. This'd help me achieve my goal. Plus, Domarus said he'd spread word of my shop if I did the same. The wind blew throughout the cobbled streets of Starting City. This was the city everyone who was too pathetic was trapped in by their own morals. Their fear. They were pathetic. But they were Human. I'd win for them. I knew I will. If I didn't? Then I'd die. Simple. This had my life on it. I went into the building in front of me. The sign with a Soviet looking anvil and hammer, swinging in the wind. This was it! It was ride or die at this point.

Let's make it a good one.

  5. I thought for a second. "Yeah,  I want to be able to get up on the frontlines soon. But I'm not an idiot. I know there'll be work involved. Not to sound offensive, well, it's gonna isn't it? But I got more a sense of this world than most guilds. I'm weak, and I know it. That makes me stronger than most anyway. Metaphorically, of course. You could mop the floor with me." I said. Well, that was a mouthful. "Besides, I know what you mean. Most players don't leave. They're idiots. I wished they'd realise that if they don't contribute they'll be here longer." I say, I decide to let go of my feelings. This guy was a great aquaintance. I smirked. "I'd be happy to share word of your shop, sir Artisan." Then our order arrives and we both thank the waitress. "Bon appetit!" I say to myself and I dig in. "I haven't had food like this in like a week!" I say with my mouth full.

  6. "Thanks, uhm. I'll have some fries and a boar burger, please." I said, a friendly smile on my face. The waitress was a NPC, a good looking one at that. Kayaba really planned out this game, and Argus delivered. Though all they delivered was a game of death. We’d get through it.  The game had only just begun. People will continue to die until the end. I wonder if every single person will die? Anyway, that’s in the future. I re-iterated what h had said about the ALA. He didn’t like them, obviously, but he spoke the truth. They were saints in the first month or so, but now…  they’re power hungry morons. I’m sure internally their motives are unchanged.  Or at least I hope. I believe firmly that the person who created that damn guild has saved their motives and their probably.. hopefully true to themselves still. Now, what’s Dom gonna order? Seems like the guy to order…..

  7. “Hmmm. A friend or two huh? I mean I’ve been going solo for a while.” I explained as they walked further into the restaurant. Domarus and I sat down at a table.

“Thank you, for the meal. “ I thanked him. Some people are just generally nice. “You seem like what the Aincrad Liberation Army was meant to be. They kind went down the toilet huh.” This person did genuinely seem to be a good guy. The game apparently had these people. I will need to become this guys…. Ally. Yes, ally seemed a good word to describe what they could become. “ Yeah, so I’m not so much a mercenary as I am a hobo “ I chuckle at my own joke but Domarus seems to be confused.

“I’m a rank 1 rapier user. I’m not really equipped to be handling monsters. Yet, anyway. My overall goal is to become a smithy and create some weapons for myself and to sell.” I say. Domarus seemed an interesting character, as he was listening intently. This would prove good.

  8. "Yeah, I am actually." Was I too rude there?  "Excuse me, Domarus, was it?, My name is Jovian Pirate. Jovian or Jove for short.  I've been solo these 3 months."  I think that was enough about me.

"Anyway, you're offering me food. I'm sorry for being so blunt about this, but you're planning something, aren't you?" I say, half rhetorically. "If you want to assimilate me in to your guild the answers no. If you want help with something then I'll need Col. If you want to employ me or something, I'm interested." I was honest enough. I mean I'm broke and weak. I need Col. This Domarus seems experianced, judging by that big sword. It glowed a dim harsh red. This guy meant business. He was the type to have The Reds do his dirty work for him. He seems physically and mentally strong. His morals could still be questioned. The air in the immedate vicinity was quite stale. It seemed to be one that could only barely hold itself together. It clearly didn't get that many friends. I guess he may want some help with that?

The general area of Floor 1 seemed great for someone like him. He seems to be after one thing or another and 60 odd percent live down here, so there's plenty of people to recruit. Perhaps I'm over analysing this, he's only giving me, or at least offering me food. No one does that. Not that I know of.

  9. Jovian walked down the cobbled street. He was broke and had nothing to eat. He had sworn to himself in the first month that he wouldn't beg and deprive others of resources. Everyone else seemed... unrealistic. Sure, clearing the game was his first priority but all these people wanted to do the impossible. They were on about clearing the game in months, at most a year. Deep down, however,he knew it'd take at least 2 or 3. Kayaba wouldn't make this easy on them, he knew it. Floor 1 killed 2, Who knows what the 100th entails? He waltzed into the shop closest to him and wondered what was there. He'd only browse for now.

    Real name: Haiden Marks
    Age: 17
    Gender: Male
    Height: 5ft 9in

    About: History/personality

Haiden's past is non-existant pretty much. He is an adopted child from an age too young to form memorable memories. He eventually found out he wasn't a part of the family went he was 15 as he learnt that blue eyes were a recessive gene and asked them. The truth was going to hidden from him for the rest of his life, and due to this he drifted away from them. The gifted him with all sorts to try and regain his trust but nothing worked for them. Two of the gifts were a NerveGear and a pre-order copy of SAO. He loved and longed for the day where he could escape into a perfect reality. A reality where he didn't have the deal with them. The traitors. He had no blood relatives anymore. He thought that he could make some in SAO. When he was due to enter the game his "mother" ran in and screamed "Wait! Don't go in!" Haiden didn't care. He uttered the words "link start". Unknown to him he had doomed himself for the SAO incident just began.
    Virtues:

Authenticity: Haiden is and always will be true to himself and any cause he might participate in. Although some may think him quite egotistical or have other untrue criticisms about him, he will forever know who he is, and if he has to let people know- even at a hefty price- he will. He cannot stand the fact of being seen wrongly and he makes this fact known.

Judicious: Haiden has a great sense of doing things right and with good judgement, he will often scan an area and assess it for any harming factors. If any thing is present he will try and let people know so they don't get harmed. Although he is hasty and tries to get things done quick, he will always have an eye for anything bad or hazardous.

Tact: Being tact is one of Haiden's most redeeming features in any scenario. He will always make sure everyone and everything is on his side and by being on good terms with everyone he can achieve any goal quicker and cleaner than he could in any other case. By not offending or owing anyone for anything he may have said, he can also extract favours or anything else he may want from anyone.

    Flaws:
    Reference: http://www.darkworldrpg.com/lore/flaws.html
Overzealous: Haiden is usually quite overzealous if he finds a cause or practise that interests him. This could lead him to extreme lengths to find out information, do a duty he has to do, or if he straight up wants something, then he will go for it with what ever he's got. This has the potential to get him into dangerous situations.

Bigot: Although he tries to hide it, Haiden is extremely bigoted. He doesn't let others know as he doesn't want to violate being tactful. He constantly thinks others are moronic and thinks his views are always correct.

Aimless: Haiden doesn't know what to do unless something or someone sets his sights on it. The only thing Haiden wants to do in SAO is clear the game. He doesn't know what'll happen after he does though, afterall, he'll just got back to being aimless. Trying to find a goal in life has been hard for him thus far, and nothing will really change that.

Profession: (Leave blank until the Earning a Living quest has been completed.)
