"Nothing." It was bound to happen, his luck was drained with a simple execution of the command of his hand. When he drew it back in there was nothing but emptiness in his hand. The expression on his face didn't show disappointment, but more so of annoyance. To have to waddle back and forth like this just to make sure nothing jumped out to get him. He relaxed his posture and closed his eyes for a brief moment to allow the annoyance to subside. He thought about ending this quest early, and just going about doing something that was no so menial to his being. These fetch quests could go to hell for all he cared for.

The wind caused his white jacket to pop as he moved away from the station and moved to the next tree. His glassy gaze was on the ground as they moved and scanned the area around him once more. A hand on the hilt of The Prestige once more, a growing habit to be sure of and a safe one at that. He would make damn certain nothing would find its way against his back.

    "And to the next one."

His voice was almost silent, only his ears could pick up the trace of his timbre voice as he moved away from the location. Eyes on the prize and rather greedy with luck, he stood at the base of another tree and reached his hand up once again. His tall frame helping with his extended hand as he clasped around another item as he pulled it with a small tug. With a minor pop he pulled the weighty item into both hands and flipped it over a few times and nodded to himself.

"That makes two. Either I am getting lucky, or I am falling into some trap." His words would reach his ears alone once more as he took the time to examine the item before it was thrown into the abyss of his inventory. This was a good start for the Material Picking Dandy as he had just stepped out here not too long ago.

Sweeping his jacket around, Alqamar moved to his next destination. It was a good idea to keep close distance between these Wild lands and the safe zone if he wanted to make the most out of his time. So he made targets out of three locations all close by that he would travel to back and forth to search for all five of these materials. It would just take a moment or two to search and then turn around and search the next area. It was one of the most boring jobs any person could possibly do in this world. The quicker, the better.

Just as his thoughts had remained clear of the trivial chore, something caught his fingers. Pulling lightly from the tree, he examined the object and flicked away the description of the item. He knew he found what he needed, he just needed to do this simple "process" four more times to make it's worth of anything.

With the sun against his back, Alqamar moved from his station into the Wilds. His eyes scanning left and right as his hand remained steady on the hilt of his curved sword. The everwatchful presence of the human would make small movements, keeping an eye on his surroundings to be sure he wouldn't be jumped by anything that would be missgiving. His digits broke free of their station as he reached for the smallest part of a massive tree. Would any of these items be pliable into an alchemist ingredient for that NPC? His thoughts were that of the quest, but his eyes looked away for the briefest of moments to consider where he was. When things appeared to be as normal as they could be, Alqamar shifted his hand higher to reach for something, but it didn't seem likely to find anything. His hand moved ever so gently away from the branch as he squared his eyes and took a step back.

"This better not take a long time. I have no desire to be out here longer than needed."

  5. The Wilds, he called it. A quaint little description of what would be known as a player's nightmare. Trekking out into the unknown lands and leaving the safeness of the city behind only to be stabbed in the back and taken for everything as your body drops into a sea of grass. The Wilds...they called it. Of course, it was wild. Anything could happen in there that would set off the balance from peaceful berry picking to your body dropping and being deleted. Emerald eyes scanned the very foot note of the boundary between this safe place of the city and the mere inches of space into such a turn about world. He sighed, swept the chocolate brown strands of hair from his eyes and curled his lips. His hand resting on the hilt of The Prestige as he took one step forward.

It was enough for the wind to crash into his body to alert him he was now in the danger zone of the world. That one step would break all peace of serenity, but as he looked there didn't seem to be any unmaking of this peace. No hostile force to come to ripped his dead body and loot it for their own. So he would stand, look and examine and then proceed once more into the grassy field.

"Five materials the old man had said. Simple enough objective."

  6. "Ah, another young adventurer seeking--

"I do not need a lecture on the reason of you being born into this world, Old Man. I'm here for the quest. Just give me the details and I'll be on my way." Cold in this voice of the player as he spoke his words towards the old man, Zackariah. The alchemist touched and smoothed the long white cotton beard of his chin, stroking it heavily as he looked at the foreigner in his shop. NPCs were all the same, mostly, those who tried to help the players of the world had a set of rules to go by the system and they would be gentle with their words. However, Alqamar was not here for a lesson. He was here for the details of the quest and he would not stand idly about waiting for a long winded explanation of this old man and what he does.

"Right. Not a fan of small talk, eh? Very well. Gather me five materials and bring them back to me. You can find them out in the Wilds. Be sure to come back for the next part--" The door slammed shut behind the sharply dressed man as he heard enough of what he needed to do. A fetch quest, so mundane as the name of it, the meat of many quests and so familiar in these types of games. It was either kill this and kill that, or pick this up and drop it off here. There was little room for originality, the maker of the game was something else. He didn't think too far outside the box. But he had the details and what he needed to do. The rest was trivial. Like those before him, the white robbed player moved with a frigidness to him as he moved like a breeze in the world. Those who were close by shuddered as they looked upon him, and he in turn would look them in the eyes, a glaring smile on his face as he walked by. The world felt cold around him and those who were in his presence, felt the chill.

  7. Smoke billowed endlessly above a rooftop of brown as Al looked up and noticed the breeze wafting an unknown scent in his direction. That had to be the place of the quest, an NPC named Zackariah would lead him to his first foothold in this world and steps to be taken that would leave him to ascending to the top. His eyes scanned the area, his feet and his movements were simple as he continued the beaten path. Crowds of people would look up at his odd style of dress, part like the sea as if Moses had been walking through them. Silence as he made his presence known, the others would gawk and whisper words to others. He did not bask in the light of a hero or a villain. He was much more complex than such simple tropes and he did not fall into the same old stereotype that others would feed to the masses. Things that were simple, things that needed to be done. All that was and all that there would be would be in the palm of his hand. Light of the sun stolen and given and shared from one person to another. A name.

His hand would touch gently upon the old wooden door, a creak of the hinges alerting the old man within. The male stopped as the door closed behind him. Where there once was sun to light the room, now came shadow and coldness. The old man looked upon this new fellow stroking his long white beard, his eyes questioning this individual. Alqamar was of the same, his eyes looked over the old man with no ill intent, but he would smile thinly and walk up to him. Like frigid coldness in cold room, the old man shuddered briefly before a warming smile showed through his sagging cheeks.

  8. So many of them walked these same streets, paved the way of their menial lives in this Prison World. The life had been drained from their eyes, their hope diminished with each passing day. It brought a smile to his mind because he knew some of these fools would eventually die from either going mad, or suicide. Alqamar was one of the few who had not succumbed to such distasteful exits. He had a plan, a path and a goal. These were important, and he would move like the ghost that he was to all the others who attempted to ride through battle, sword in hand and charge through with no tomorrow. But there would be a tomorrow, and a day after, so long as you were smart, and knew how to play with the mechanics of the game, not against them. Where idiots played with chaos, Al played the game as it was meant to be played. High stats meant higher access to power and even is he had to wretch through the mud and the scum of Aincrad, he would do it without hesitation. Time is all he needed and time was on his side.

Long digits rolled through his chocolate hair as the strands danced in front of his dark eyes. There was an aura of confidence about him, equal to man or woman who had an a plan and would soon master it with all the grace of his being. The pureness of his clothes was that of white, those his menacing eyes were a contrast to the purity of his dress. At his side hung The Prestige which dripped with a red aura when unsheathed. His eyes were the focus point of his entire being, they sang out a disturbing melody for those who looked upon him and like sheep, they parted as they bleated as he walked towards his goal; his destination.

    Real name: Victor Beck
    Age: 31
    Gender: male
    Height: 6 feet

    About: History/personality

Growing up as a child in a comfortable living, Victor used his time to study with very little room to play. He would bury himself in libraries days at a time only to come out for mandatory life needs. He had very few friends, and even considered his own family be strangers to him. While he loved and enjoyed most books, he was no fictional character from the fantasy worlds he had escaped to. With much dismay, he had to endure the trials of humanity. While some had partied and play, Victor continued his life with school and learning. Although by the time he had started, he was well advanced in his lessons compared to the other students. Many had thought him a mute a boy, but he was not pretending not to speak. He just had no care or desire to speak with such dregs of humanity.

This was a constant struggle for him even through high school. He taught himself most things through books or advanced reading in whatever class he was part of. He was intelligent but lacked basic human understanding of life and its more lively details. He grew into a handsome man as he entered his college years and worked in a scientific department to help with studies of curing diseases. Many years had been used in his efforts to grow into the studious man that he was, and that meant little social time or other gatherings. Finished with college, Victory went on to live abroad through the world. His skills in medicine created a large enough salary to venture to new and foreign lands than those he grew up in. To settle down was an oversight, but his love for fantasy had never perished. Despite the anxiety of what is known as Diving, Victor was reluctant to do so but used it as a platform to further understand the human brain.

Sword Art had promised a world of freedom and experience, and he was gonna use that as a catalyst for his own socializing dynamic. However, when he was plunged into the world without being able to log out, things had settled for him that he would have to brave this world with his sword and his brain.

    Virtues:

Confident: Victor, or Alqamar as he likes to be called in game, has established a confident aura about him. He had read enough about these fantasy worlds that his intelligence drives him to know what he is getting himself into. He knows the basics, has read how to adapt in these situations such as living off the world or being trapped on an island. Because these worlds mirror and the laws bend, Victor assures himself that he will not only live but will become a remarkable person in this game's history.

Detached: Alqamar is not to be one who is unnerved by anything. Its a game where mechanics rule everything from basic foodery, to being clumsy with a weapon to a Master Swordsman. People do not help build mechanics, only 1 man did this. And to rule the world of the mechanics, means to rule the world so to speak. Not showing emotion, being detached to survive, and to throw anyone under the bus who should get in his way or his goals.

Orderly: Organized and sure, Victor both in and out of the game keep a meticulously neat order to all things that are done. Nothing is trivial when the life is on the line and an escape needs to be hatched. Everything from his threads to his mindset is in single rhthem to everything he does. Each thing he does, he takes care of one step at a time. Nothing is unnoticed, not stone is left unturned. Everything and anything is visualized, accepted and solved through orderly conduct and efficienciency.

    Flaws:

Boredom: Alqamar finds his time being bored most of the time. Once you have done one thing here its pretty much the same with everything else. Slay a boar at level 1 is the same thing as slaying a dragon at level 50. You cut and you cut until something dies at your feet. The game world might look pretty, might be fast becoming, but once you have tasted everything in the world...it becomes like the real world. Boring. Dull. And pathetic.

Lonesome: One thing he might say and do, he'll turn around and do something else and do the opposite. He does not play along with others since he feels he is more superior than most of the people he runs into. Childish dreams of valor, or being heroic and saving. Victor is a man who is more consumed with himself than he is with establishing ties with other people who will eventually wither and die one day. It is better to just live alone and live without the weight and burden of a friend than it is to be dragged down by their lifeless sack.

Judgemental: All people are judged equally. He is law of his own world and he has the right to say and do whatever he wishes, of course, he wont blatantly threaten someone if they meant no harm. However, first impressions and everything after that he will sum up to what kind of person they are. What he finds difficult is a person who wishes to create chaos for themselves or those who cant live up to their name. Much like a jury, once he finds you guilty of something there is very little hope of reversing that plead.
