  1. Morgan let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding when they finally arrived at the safe spot. A hand went to her chest to try to calm herself, but of course it wouldn't go down that easily. She looked up and offered a smile at Ruby's words, before chuckling. "Well...I mean, you doing this is...already a reward, right?" She was breathing heavily, heart still thumping against her chest from the adrenaline of what had just transpired. "And besides, I...don't really know your boundaries and stuff to make a request anyway, so..." With that she trailed off, taking a seat on the ground so that she could collect herself.

She had just saved someone. The thought wouldn't leave Morgan's mind. She'd actually done what she was hoping to do. Hell, she hadn't even thought of doing it this way. In her mind, it had all been fighting mobs off of low-HP players and assisting them in quests. Not...protecting them from environmental hazards. She had to wonder how she was actually going to do things now, though. She wouldn't get anywhere just staying here and making sure people don't fall, so she had to do what she was originally thinking of anyway.

  2. Fortunately for Ruby, Morgan's eyes were at their feet, and she saw the woman slip. Without even needing to process it in her mind she darted forward with a solid stance and took an iron grip of the higher-levelled players elbow, and used the momentum of her fall to swing her around and back up behind herself. She simply stared for a couple moments, blue eyes boring into Ruby, before she took an almost audible gulp and released a sigh of relief. Her heart was pounding, to the point that she wondered whether she might start taking damage from it.

Once she was certain of Ruby's own footing, she released her grip and returned to a more normal, less wide stance. The black-haired girl was shaking, and started to take deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself. "Um...you okay?", she questioned slowly, head turning to look at the girl beside her. That was scary, but a small part of her was slightly happy that she got to help, even save, someone. Hell, even before she'd manage to get her weapon skill. "That was uh...a bit scary. I feel like I'm gonna start taking damage from my heartbeat..."

  3. Morgan gave Ruby a wary look as she got closer that, while she tried to hide it, she simply couldn't. The kiss came as a surprise, and she shuffled slightly and blushed at the feeling. A small, more genuine smile did come to her lips, and she glanced up to Ruby. While she knew she really was sorry, someone who was such a higher level than herself still scared her whenever they got angry with her. She gave a nod of understanding along with the smile, before turning her attention to the path that was growing increasingly treacherous ahead of them.

Once the pair reached the thin portion of the path, Morgan moved to following Ruby's steps exactly, not deviating even an inch lest it end with her falling. While she certainly wouldn't mind repaying Ruby, she didn't want to risk it in the first place, so she took her steps as carefully as possible. And she stayed quiet, too, so that she wouldn't distract Ruby. That, and she was still somewhat taken aback by her outburst from earlier, even if she had been genuinely sorry for reacting in the way that she had.

  4. "Dual Blades, huh? Doesn't sound very useful for a fist-fighter, although it does sound pretty cool. I wonder if it has an entire skillset to itself? Must be pretty good if it's unique. Have you ever seen that one in action?", Morgan questioned, still firing off the unrelenting, exhausting barrage. One that was, for but a moment, halted by the angered tone in Ruby's voice. The black-haired girl flinched, noticeably, at the sudden turn, and crossed an arm over her chest to grip her shoulder in silence. Maybe she should be careful of her, she did seem to have a short temper, and she didn't want to anger her when she could probably kill her accidentally.

Now that was strange. Such a shift in emotion in such a short time, from annoyed to giggling and flirty. Still, she decided to play along. "Well, if it ever does come to that, I guess we'll have to negotiate...I'm sure we can figure out some kind of reward I can give you for saving my life. Pretty much anything would be worth giving in exchange for that", she responded with a sly smile, though one that anybody could tell was slightly forced.

  5. "What are the ones you have seen? What do you think they do?" Morgan continued questioning Ruby, glancing down every few moments to make sure her feet were in the right place. She almost desperately wanted a unique skill, something to make her stand out from the crowd. "Do you know how to get them? Do they just appear randomly? Go to specific people? Are there a limited number and you have to beat someone to get it?" So. Many. Questions. At this rate she'd never stop.

Morgan smirked wide and placed a finger on her bottom lip. "Well, since you're taken, a lot of the stuff I would offer I can't. So I guess you'll have to settle with a healthy conscious, hm?", she responded, giving a quick wink before continuing. "Well, that's good. At least it doesn't feel like grinding, just...playing. I hate it when it does, 'cause I get bored of it really quickly and end up never progressing."

  6. A unique skill? Now that piqued Morgan's interest. She had no idea that unique skills existed, and she just had to wonder as to what exactly their effects were. They had to be really amazing if they were unique! "Unique skill? Do you know what it is? Are there more? Any that'd be useful to, y'know, a bare-handed fighter like me?", Morgan questioned fervantly. Part of her just wanted to know more, but part of her also wanted a skill for herself. Being someone powerful on the front lines would make her well known, but a unique skill besides? Now that'd make her downright famous. And make her more effective in combat, besides.

At the information on fall damage in fact existing, Morgan nodded. She definitely didn't want to die that way. "Yeah, I'll be careful. Just uh...try to catch me if I do start falling?", she stated, smiling, before following up. "48?! That's high! Does it take long to reach that level, or is the levelling in SAO really quick? And what's the level-cap, too? Around 80 like most MMOs, or is it different?" Information, information, information. She could become a broker at the rate she was picking it up.

  7. Morgan placed a finger on her bottom lip as Ruby explained who Calrex was. Damn, he sounded strong. Not a single scratch throughout an entire boss raid? "Is that because he's just that strong, or the tanks did their job? Or is he a tank? Because that would really make it impressive. Tanks must be really brave to deliberately put themselves in harms way even knowing the consequences...", she mused, lips twisting slightly in thought.

"Damn right I can dance well! Not that great at the slow ballroom-type dancing though. Anyway, I'm sure we'll be fine. Is there fall damage in SAO?", Morgan questioned, tilting her head once again, while watching her footing. Even if there wasn't fall damage, falling still wouldn't be a good idea, since it'd set them back, and she wanted to get this over and done with as soon as they possibly could so she could get to punching mobs and finishing those tutorial quests she had ignored.

"So, what level are you? And what level is Calrex?" Part of her wanted to know the level cap, but also knowing just how far ahead Ruby and Calrex were from her would be nice to know too.

  8. Morgan tilted her head at that. "Who's Calrex? I've mostly been holed up in the Town, so I don't really know any other players. Is he the highest-levelled player or something?", she questioned, stopping her prancing to return to Ruby's side. If there were 'fabled' PCs, maybe she could become one, and use that to her advantage to help people! Plus, being famous would be nice.

At the mention of being taken, Morgan snickered. "Lucky you, then. And unfortunate you too, I guess", she responded with a wink and a smirk, before continuing. "I can do normal dancing too. Anyway, I should be fine! I've done some rock-climbing before. Should be fine just heading up a mountain. Considering there's a quest up here, and probably a pretty popular one, there should be a path right?"

  9. Morgan showed teeth as her grin grew wider. "Yep! I'd solo a floor-boss, but I feel like that's something that's not really possible, y'know?", she responded, before chuckling at Ruby's question. "It did! I meant like, paying. I was smart enough to get through, of course, but it costs a lot of money, so I became a poledancer to afford it. When you're as drop-dead gorgeous as me, that earns a lot of money! I could pay my way and then some. That was the only job I really managed to keep though, the others I just got bored of. But that was always exciting, so I never really got bored of it", she explained, showing off a small bit of her normal dancing skill as they moved down the path.

"I mean, you'd get the kind of person who'd assume you were dumb and vapid for doing a job like that, but fortunately my boss was lenient enough to let me work as my own bouncer!"

  10. Morgan nodded in agreement, corners of her lips turning down for just a moment before she returned to normal. "Yeah, I've seen too many already too. I don't want to let someone else die, so I'm gonna get stronger and kick the ass of every mob that I come across. Maybe help out in the Town of Beginnings for a bit and help new players, like you're doing with me." Again, Morgan seemed to be talking more to herself than to Ruby.

"Oh? That's cool! Are you a Tailor in-game, then, or what? I'm thinking of becoming an Artisan, since I liked doing gem-cutting and jewelry-making in real life. And I know I'm cute as hell and sexy to back it up, too. It's how I got through college!", she responded, deciding not to push the point that she was way more attractive with someone much higher level than her.

  11. "Yeah, I don't...particularly want to die. Already seen too much of that, and I'll...be damned if I die before I kick the creator up and down every single floor of Aincrad for what he's done", Morgan replied with a certain bitterness to her voice, which cracked slightly partway through before she regained her composure.

Fortunately, Ruby had steered the conversation in a different direction, and Morgan's smirk returned. She raised a hand and finger again, and winked at Ruby. "Well, I didn't want to make assumptions, Ruby. Didn't know if you were the type of person to enjoy being called that", she responded with a smug grin. "Well, I guess we're both the hot types then. I knew we'd get along!"

  12. "Well, I guess. Still, I think we're done with that particular discussion for now!", Morgan stated, humming to herself just a little in the breaks in the conversation.

"Oh, well, then it'd probably be a good idea if I don't, huh? I don't think I'd stand a chance against mobs of that level, so better not to take a risk with it", she confirmed, appending her words with a decisive nod. She reckoned that once she was done with this quest, she should go and actually do that tutorial quest she'd seen. That probably had some pretty useful rewards.

At the compliment towards the black-haired girl's appearance, the smirk grew somewhat. She knew she was attractive, but hearing it was nice all the same. "Well, I'm glad you think so! Nice meeting a pretty girl like you too, Ruby!", she responded, grinning up to her. She was rather pretty, with those nice clothes, long hair that looked even messier with hers, and overall appearance that was, while not as good as Morgan's own in her eyes, still nice.

  13. Morgan shrugged at that. "Yeah, I guess. Still, not too worried about it in this town. But let's stop talking about that, it's depressing and boring!", she stated, raising a hand and a finger with it. "That should make things significantly easier. Though maybe we should find some on the way back, so I can practice under your watchful supervision!", she continued, that enormous smile returning.

"Yep! Let's get up to the second floor, find that NPC, and start the quest! Still not sure what the quest actually entails, I've just heard it can be kinda tedious...", Morgan mused, speaking more to herself than Ruby. "Oh, what's your name by the way? I'm Morgan!"

  14. Morgan shuffled like she was being scolded as Ruby spoke, one hand coming up to scratch her cheek in slight embarrassment. Well, she wasn't really wrong there. But she trusted herself to judge a person's character well enough. "Well, okay! If you say so. I'll try not to be so...forthcoming with random people, I guess? Not gonna stop me being friendly though", she responded almost stubbernly, before beaming as Ruby dd indeed decide to take her.

"Ah, that's wonderful! You must be really high level then...which is good, I guess! Won't need to worry about random mobs, though we should still keep our eyes out. Getting careless would be a...bad idea." Morgan's brow furrowed for a moment and her lips pursed, but a second later she was back to her smirk. "Anyway, thanks! Even if you don't, just getting there would be good. The weapon I got is really good, so I should be able to fight my way back here." With that, Morgan trotted along behind her, hands behind her back.

  15. Morgan placed her hands behind her back as the woman started to speak, one foot crossing behind the other as she looked up hopefully. "Well, it's not like you can do anything to me here. This is a safe zone, after all! If we were out on the floor itself I'd be more careful, but here we're all safe", she replied with certainty, the smirk turning to a huge grin. "Besides, you looked nice anyway! And I tend to be a good judge of character."

When Ruby finally questioned about the dumb thing, Morgan turned her head away as the smile shrunk, a mixture of embarrassment and guilt showing on her face. "Ah, well...I um...I always played Monks in other games so as soon as I got on here, I rushed to get a good unarmed weapon. But as it turns out from asking other players, you need to have completed a certain quest to be able to level the skill for that! But obviously I can't get there myself, so...I'm kinda stuck unless someone escorts me. Please take me? I can probably try to find some way to repay you!"

    @Ruby

  16. Morgan huffed. That was enough moping she'd done, now she needed to find someone who could actually take her to that NPC. She couldn't sit here brooding by herself with a useless weapon and no skills, she needed to get out and do something, make up for her stupidity! She'd never be able to protect people like this, not really. But on the other hand, she really didn't want to risk the life of yet another person. She was supposed to be protecting people, not endangering them even further in this twister world. She'd have to just look around and hope somebody high-level, to whom the enemies of the second floor would be like childs-play to, happened to be here. She just hoped they wouldn't be careless, too. She didn't want another death on her hands.

After a few minutes of looking, maybe 20 at most, a smirk crept to Morgan's lips. This person most certainly looked high-level, what with that clothing and all! And nice clothing it was too, the ribbons were so pretty. She hoped she'd find some fashionable armour like that later on, instead of this weird eastern-looking robe thing and puffy trousers. With that smirk still on her face, she practically bounced up to the pink-haired woman. "Hey! You look high level. Are you? It'd be uh...really nice if you were both high level and willing to help out someone low level? I kind of need some help really bad 'cause I did something dumb...", she stated, giving her what could only be described as big, blue puppy eyes. Now she just had to pray that this woman was indeed the kind type of person, instead of the more difficult type. That would make things...well, difficult. And she'd have to resume her search.

  17. Profile

    Name: Morgan Kay

    Age: 22

    Gender: Female

    Height: 5'1"

    SP Remaining/Gained: 5/5

Appearance: Morgan is, overall, fairly attractive. Her skin is a peachy, tan kind of colour, with a few smatterings of freckles over her body, which is noticeably curvy despite her height. She has a cute, heart-shaped face with large, deep blue eyes lined with long eyelashes, a small button nose, plump, pouty lips that seem to always be curled into a small smirk, and carefully-trimmed eyebrows. Her face is framed by wavy, mussed black hair that seems to curl inwards slightly at the bottom, and a messy fringe. All of this comes together to create a very tomboyish yet overtly feminine, and attractive, look. One which Morgan most certainly takes a great deal of pride, and a small amount of smugness, from.

History: For the most part, Morgan had a fairly normal life. She was the sort with that kind of uncanny charisma that kids just crowded around in search of a clique or group, and she loved being the centre of attention. Despite that, though, she wasn't self-centred for the most part, although she did have a great deal of care for her appearance. Once she discovered the concept of bullying, she took it upon herself to kick any 'bullies' up and down the playground, and she took great satisfaction from doing so, partially because she found fighting fun, and partially because protecting people was something that made her feel good.

Morgan's friend group, which only grew tighter over time, had a healthy habit of sharing their interests among themselves. Performing, creating, gaming...all of them found themselves sharing plenty of interests. Morgan, herself, found great joy in the digital world, and in dancing, and of course martial arts, with a smaller side-hobby of gem-cutting and jewelry-making developing once she got old enough to get a job, and thus afford the equipment to do so. When it came to jobs, however, Morgan found herself constantly flitting between one and another, her charisma and overwhelming personality getting her in the door, but her decreasing lack of interest in the oft-monotonous position making her move on. She did, however, manage to find some consistency in MMOs, more specifically playing them with her friends.

So of course, when SAO was announced, they pounced on the opportunity to get into this cutting-edge game with eachother. Fortunately, Morgan's own networking managed to get them all places in the game, and they dove in. She immediately rushed to get an unarmed weapon, having always played Monks in previous games of that type, and only realised after that you needed to complete a quest to find unarmed. So, the group set out to the second floor to find the NPC who would start that quest.

Unfortunately, all but Morgan ended up dying in that first outing, before even realising that you couldn't log out, from messing about instead of taking things seriously, and she fled since she couldn't fight with her presently-useless weapon. Morgan returned to the Town of Beginnings and waited for them to respawn, and after they had not, attempted to log out to see if maybe they had done the same. Of course, she couldn't, and the announcement happened just shortly after.

Instead of falling to despair over it, however, Morgan resolved to get back at the creator for doing this, and to prevent others falling to the same fate as her friends had done.

Personality: Morgan is a generally caring, if overbearing, person. At first glance she appears to be a typical tomboy, abrasive and direct without any finesse. Looking deeper, though, there is an intense care for others, and a desire to live life to the fullest. Outwardly she is confident, direct, and a typical leader, who leaves no man behind and is at the back of everyone following her. Internally, the death of her friends has made her question her ability to protect others, and made her feel inadequate to do any form of leading. She desperately wants for a new friend-group to replace her old one, for a multitude of reasons. So that she can have friends again, so that she can have others to protect again and prove to herself that she *can*, and most of all because she simply feels empty while alone.

Of course, Morgan has interests besides 'friends', too. She greatly enjoys dancing, fighting, and jewelry-making, though she has yet to find a way to do the latter in SAO. She's incredibly protective of others, whether she knows them or not, and a PKer is a surefire way to flip her switch. Morgan also has an uncanny charisma which, alongside her attractive appearance, she knows how to make use of to get what she wants from people.

    Virtues:

    • Compassionate: Morgan is incredibly compassionate, caring greatly for those around her whether she knows them or not. She's eager to jump into action for just about anybody, be it completing a simple chore or taking part in a floor boss raid team. She'd go to the ends of the earth for those she truly holds close, with no questions asked.
    • Leader: Morgan holds an almost unnatural charisma. People practically flock to her, whether because of her actions, appearance, or personality, and she knows how to lead them to victory in whatever endeavour they pursue, so long as they listen. Her charisma also tends to make close friends of those she meets in short order.
    • Willful: Morgan never backs down unless the cause is truly lost. She presses ever onward despite whatever may get in her way, and she doesn't let it bring her down, at least outwardly. This willful nature is also part of why she's such a good leader. She's like a stone for the people who follow her.

    Flaws:

    • Overprotective: Morgan's protectiveness for those she cares about can sometimes go too far, especially after the death of her former friend group. She's loath to let them put themselves into any form of danger. Any tank friends would find themselves hard-pressed to do their job.
    • Unconfident: While she has a talent for leading, the death of Morgan's friends has chipped away at her belief in that talent, and in herself in general. She's prone to wondering whether she can actually do what she's set herself out to do. After all, she can't protect everyone, and the chances of actually getting back at the creator of SAO are infinitely small.
    • Emotional: Morgan is not good at hiding her emotions. While she considers this a good thing, believing it makes her honest, it means that anything that would make her angry will make her angry, and she's a terrible liar. She simply can't hide how she feels in the moment, at least not immediately.
