  1. The young woman of tribal origins simply watched the angelic-like lady not so gracefully fall upon the ground without much change in her expression. Perhaps that unintentionally comical reaction was to be expected of someone casually sitting 50ft in the air, albeit on the gate, for no particular reason. Well, that's all Holchu could assume as not only had she not answered her question but had immediately turned to never wanting to go there again. She wasn't a complete villian though as she knew the lady wouldn't receive any pain thanks to the way the game handled damage and knew she wouldn't need her aid outside of perhaps being helped up.

Although Holchu would likely have left her to it at that point in normal circumstances, without her curiosity being sated without an answer to her question she decided to continue the conversation. "I suppose you're still not used to this world?" This question came from the fact that she was checking her knee for injury when of course in this game its unlikely to impossible to take any kind of fall damage, at least that was true to her limited knowledge. This whole time, despite not wielding a weapon, Holchu has had a rather tense stance almost like she's on edge expecting something to happen. It was both subconscious and deliberate due to her always being on guard around people she didn't trust, it was just a little pointless considering the area they were in was a no PK zone and if anything, she only needed to be alert mentally.

@WingedAngel ((My bad was a bit slow on this one))

  2. Holchu was already in the workshop sitting off to the side on a simple wooden stool, currently writing down notes about what she'd learnt so far about the game. She was in a somewhat unique position being that she'd only been 'trained' in how games worked a few months before entering SAO. The mixed-race islander had never played video games for enjoyment, so this experience was much like school education. Just far more... immersive.

Focused as she was, Holchu did hear the footsteps that were descending the stairs. Since mobs weren't known for leaving their expected area, she assumed it must be a player. She had heard about player killers and since she was tucked away behind a corner the young woman had no reason to make her position known. Therefore, patience was a virtue she employed while keeping her head down in the notes but her eyes glued to the workshop's entrance, making sure to keep as still as possible to not make a sound.

  3. Holchu, a young woman with quite the fierce looking face, wandered the streets of the city while fully equipped in her tribal armour. She was currently memorising the settlement layout and was reaching the end of her journey as she walked towards one of the exits from the beginning area. When the half Nicobarese academic came closer though Holchu couldn't help but notice a pair of legs hanging off the gate in her peripheral vision. Having been used to hunting on the island she was born on, she had grown used to noticing anything with even a slight amount of movement, especially if it's any way out of place. Therefore spotting the bunny-wielding legs was natural, although not that the girl was trying to hide.

She was not normally the type to interrupt another player in their business if she didn't have something important to gain but since she was feeling somewhat tired and having completed the day's task Holchu let her curiosity take over and called out to Yokota. "So, is there any particular reason you sit so loosely over the gates?" Her language was formal as she hadn't learnt casual language for the global language of SAO but it wasn't quite respectful, instead being simply direct while her voice was rather deep and intense.

    About:

    History

Ojasvi Gupta is half Hong Kongese and half Nicobarese, the latter being a dominant tribe of the Nicobar Islands west of India. The Nicobarese in recent years have been receiving free education since the Tsunami which in turn has made a section of its people more ‘civilised’. While this has pleased the settlers who came to their island, the natives did not see this as a benefit.

Upon wearing clothes, their bodies were more susceptible to illness and their feet incapable of traversing the Nicobar Islands, making them useless to the tribe as they could not hunt or collect important resources. To begin with the children’s lack of ambition when it came to education and learning lead to teachers giving up on helping them, leading to an even larger rift between the Nicobarese and the settlers which was already apparent due to their cultural differences.

Despite the fact Ojasvi was more along the ‘civilised’ side due to her ability to learn quicker than her peers and that her parents lived alongside the settlers instead of the natives, she sympathised far more with the Nicobarese. Her Nicobarese mother made Ojasvi spent quality time with the tribesmen, which not only meant her body was toned to the harshness of tribal living from hunting to sleeping in simple huts, she also learnt their morals and complaints of the outside world.

How dare they suggest their culture is that of savages when they came to conquer and abuse the lands which they set foot on? Their Christianity that they try to force upon their people speaks nothing for the Earth, the plants or the animals. This mindset was only made worse when she faced an amount of bullying at school due to the settler’s mentality of the Nicobarese even though plenty of their people have gone on to be doctors, teachers, clerks and other respectable government jobs.

When she spoke of this to her parents, their only response was: ‘Then use them, if you want to achieve change in this world you cannot antagonise them all, use their power and make it your own.’ These words not only referred to their education but anyone willing to promote or teach her. Her Hong Kongese father who escaped China due to actually being from Hong Kong and didn’t wish to be apart of the now merged countries used this advice himself to reach the Nicobar Islands, escaping the reach of the country he once called home. Her mother did the same to make sure her daughter got the best from the civilised world.

As years pass Ojasvi spent more time in education, learning 4 languages in order to find out all she could about the civilised world in its current state: Southern Nicobarese, Hindi, Cantonese and the latest, Japanese. Ojasvi learnt Japanese specifically as not only was it becoming a leading country in technology which paved the way the rest of the world would follow; it was also one which had fairly huge cultural change considering its war mongering background.

In order to prove their ability to bring tribal people to the civilised world and interact in an unknown environment, an Indian Government funded project were taking looking towards its local islands for the new VRMMO, Sword Art Online. Looking at the Beta though the project backers soon realised the language issue they would have to face and while finding a capable Japanese-Hindi speaking teacher was viable, the amount of time they had to do so until the game released was low.

Due to this, Ojasvi’s application made in order to use this opportunity to elevate herself in society, was seen as a God send. Her language capabilities and current education for a Nicobarese tribeswoman was perfect. Ojasvi didn’t put her Hong Kong decent on her background due to her Father’s escape and while it showed on her appearance that she was mixed; the project backers conveniently ignored it for their own agenda. Immediately they made plans to put her in SAO and shipped her off to Japan.

Her goal was to create awareness for the Nicobarese people and so used the name they refer to themselves in their own language ‘Holchu’, meaning friend. After learning about the concept of not only virtual reality for the first time but also video games, she couldn’t say she wasn’t excited. She would be inexperienced though some of the video game training they put her through beforehand was more than helpful, it was just like learning mathematics, except a lot more fun.

Being off the island for the first time left her feeling a sense of anticipation as she made her first real step in finding her purpose in life. Perhaps she would miss her family in the future, but Ojasvi knew this was what she was meant to be doing.

Whatever happens thereafter, her conviction will never falter.

    Personality

    Virtues:

Fearless – Just as Ojasvi’s name defines, by spending time with the Nicobarese she had little time to fear nature as she hunted the wild and travelled the islands. She couldn’t cower in front of the settlers, or the bullying would have escalated and they would never have taken her seriously. Her parents only solidified this mental fortitude from stories of their histories and what they taught her gave her the strength to push forwards.

Intelligent – With access to free education and true ambition to ascend her current position, she had many reasons to learn. By being willing to learn and fine with being wrong she can improve faster by taking constructive criticism to its limits. Through this she has learnt many topics and subjects from academics to languages.

Logical – If in order to reach a goal Ojasvi has to drop her personal pride temporarily she will do it. She will use any means necessary to reach her aims, as long as those means don’t collide with her ultimate goal. This trait alone has and will stop her from making enemies of many people outside of her tribal background.

    Flaws:

Untrusting – Ojasvi does not trust anyone to have her best interests to heart. In fact, she sees most people from the civilised world to be mostly selfish. To be convinced that they will help her in anyway they must have a motivation that is in their self-interest.

Prideful – While its good she is confident in herself, she has almost no modesty and when she is better than others at something, she sees little reason to hide it. This mentality allowed her to soldier through education in her younger years despite the less than supportive surroundings. Though due to being reinforced in this thinking being correct because of the result, it is unlikely this trait will ever truly disappear from her character.

Solitary – Having never truly relied on others except for when taught and when hunting, Ojasvi does not know what it’s like to work as a team. While hunting experience should help, that was with those she had the utmost faith in. She has never had to do the same with civilised people, which clashes her untrusting attitude. This is made especially so due to their lives being on the line, its not as much her fearing death as much fearing they will stay beside her when it truly counts. Her solitary mindset is likely to be very problematic in a game as party orientated as SAO, which will be pushed and pulled based on her logical vs untrusting natures.
