  1. "How could you NOT understand the severity of using our real names in a game?! People can use our real names to find out a lot of personal information like our addresses, jobs, account info and - HEY!" Kazuma exclaimed as he watched Ourian leave through the front door. Infuriated, he hastily donned his gear with the menu and headed out the door to follow him.

"Of all the disrespectful things to do! I can't believe he just walked away like that!" Kazuma raged, power walking towards the meeting place, keeping an eye out for Ourian while he did so, eventually finding him sitting on a bench in the square, apparently deep in thought. As he began to storm up to him, Kazuma stopped and took a deep breath. Once he was calmed down, he sat down next to Ourian.

"Look, dude... I'm sorry for the testiness earlier... but you do have to realize that we aren't in the real world anymore... We are in this death game together and everyone is on edge, myself included..." Kazuma admitted calmly. "I just don't want anyone to know our real names in case we make enemies later down the line in this death game and they find out who we are and use that against us in the real world if we all manage to get out of here..."

  2. "Hey, it's time to get up, bud... Sarah and Joey are gonna be pissed at us if we are late..."

Kazuma felt a slight nudge as he was awakened from his unusually restful sleep. Sitting up slowly, he stretched and yawned then rubbed his eyes as he saw Ourian next to him.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm up... and they'll be okay if we are a few minutes late..." he bit back as he turned to sit on the edge of his bed. He was not a morning person by any means and being woken up was something that he truly despised... Despite his words, however, he knew that Ourian had a point... While Zyran wouldn't mind if they were slightly tardy, Issanalyn would be furious since she was the one who asked for everyone to meet up in the first place.

Something clicked as his mind starting getting into gear: Ourain had used their real names instead of their in-game handles. "Also, why are you still using our real names? I thought we talked about this... Sarah and Joey are Issanalyn and Zyran here, I'm Kazuma, and you're Ourian... It's just not proper gaming etiquette to use our real names..."

  3. Following Zyran, it didn't take them long to catch up to Ourian, who seemed to be staring off into the distance. Curiosity getting the better of him, he looked to the horizon past the gates as well. At first, nothing really caught his interest and he couldn't understand what they were supposed to be looking at. Just as he was about to voice his opinion, Zueking walked up to them and spoke up.

"Now that's a sight to behold, don't you agree?"

Taking a second glance, he wondered what he meant. After about a minute of staring, he finally caught on to what was holding their attention.

The grass, water, sky and clouds... even the monsters and animals... they all looked so real and alive. He even felt the breeze run past his face and through his hair. He could smell the flowers and grass...

"Yeah... Yeah you're right..." Kazuma sighed in awe, captivated by the splendor before him.

    @Zyran Maclaire

  4. "HEY WHAT THE- LEMME GO!!!!" Kazuma shouted as Zyran picked him up and carried him off. This was especially infuriating to him since this always happens. "Get your hands off me, ya giant! Let me go and square up!" Squirming and kicking, he tried everything to get Zyran to let him go, but to no avail as he was carried away. After a few seconds of this pointless struggling, he relaxed, pouting and crossing his arms.

This sucks... I just wanted to show him what I can do is all... What's the harm in that?

Suddenly, he snapped out of it and realized that he was wasting everyone's time. Ourian was ready to leave and he was just trying to show off. Coming to this realization made him feel a bit guilty.

"Okay I get it... You can let me go now..." Kazuma sighed, as he tapped Zyran's hand that was holding him up.

I'll have to work double time to make sure that I don't waste any more of their time...

  5. Killjoys... Kazuma thought bitterly as everyone turned down the idea of sparring. He was also keen on figuring out if his actual skills would be of use here or if he would just have to use the system's abilities. Although... they DO have a valid point, I guess...

"Oh well... some other time, I suppose..." Kazuma sighed, turning around and walking towards the others that were getting ready to leave as he heard Zuekin apologize to everyone, which Kazuma replied with a wave. As he walked away, he heard his name called.

"So Kazuma, you said your after the unarmed skill as well right? If you don't mind me asking do you have any experience in Martial Arts?" Smirking, he turned around and crossed his arms.

"Just ask any of these guys. I've got a bit of a reputation back at our school for fighting. A good one, mind you. I  don't aimlessly look for fights, but they always look for one..." He explained, as he took up his stance. Raising both of his hands up in front of his head, elbows pointing out. He then leaned forward slightly, placing his right foot forward and his left back slightly, bending a little at the knee just to where they wouldn't lock but still keep his balance with minimum effort.

"I've studied Muay Thai since I was a kid. I also incorporate Capoeira into my moves. It looks impractical when I fight, but it really does work and throws people off. One day, when we are all a bit stronger, I'll take you up on that sparring session." He said, grinning with excitement at finding a decent rival.

  6. A fellow brawler, it seems... should be interesting... Kazuma thought as he grinned. I guess the Martial Arts skill is a lot more popular than I thought. But now I really want to see what he's got...

Walking up to Zuekin, he crosses his arms and continued to grin at him. "I guess great minds think alike. I'm also aiming to get the Martial Arts skill." He always liked finding people that like to fight with their fists. How they carry themselves, their stance, the way they punch, and the fire in their eyes in the middle of a fight... That was how you could tell a man from a kid in Kazuma's eyes. What really got his attention, however, was that he issued a challenge right off the bat, two against one at that.

"Two against one, huh... You sure about that?" He asked, his grin getting wider as his interest increased. "I would understand if you were a higher level than us, but you would be at a disadvantage if we are all equal level."

This guy is hiding something fierce, I can feel it... He doesn't seem like a newbie to MMO's to me... He's not being arrogant either, it's pure confidence... Color me interested...

  7. Seeing as how everyone was in agreement, Kazuma nodded his head and started to walk off before everyone else until he heard someone approaching them.

"Excuse me, you all wouldn't happen to be going outside of the town, would you? If so may I join you all I'm pretty experienced in fighting but this is a new experience for me and I'm not yet used to this game yet to go out by myself."

Turning around, he finds a rather muscular man wearing tight clothes that showed off his muscles. Looking him over, he could tell that the man was not lying when he said he knew how to fight.

"Hey Ourian, looks like you got another one who answered your message. We got room for one more?" He questioned, thinking about the possibilities of a sixth player involved with their training. I guess it would work out... He looks the DPS type, seeing as he isnt wearing much armor... We could break off into two teams of three, Zyran tanking for one and Issa for another... It'll help her get some experience in tanking as well... He thought as he began to map out all the possibilities in his head.

  8. As Riley spoke of support players not being necessary in this game, he was puzzled at first, but then realized that they weren't exactly being clear at first.

"Forgive us, Riley. I guess I should explain what we generally mean by support. You see, when Ourian and I mention support, it's not just about potions, buffs and healing. It's also about memorizing attack patterns, formulating strategies, keeping track of information, keeping note of all items other players in the party have and when someone will eventually need assistance, and calling shots to the others to make sure things run as smoothly as possible." Kazuma explained, although not in his usual cold tone, but more of a gentler one. He was determined to get the idea across, so he thought of another term he could use to better describe their idea of a support role. Finally, one came to mind.

"I suppose that Support is a rather poor term for what we are describing... I believe the better term for it would be Tactician or Strategist.." Kazuma continued, smiling as he did so. "It helps a lot when someone calls the shots for the group rather than everyone trying to figure it out all at once and causing chaos and disruption with everyone trying to talk over each other. Keeps everyone focused and organized, allowing them to also keep their minds on the one task that they are assigned."

As he finished up, he walked past Riley, patting her on the shoulder as he did so. "I'm nothing like our friend, Kikuro, but I'll do my best to deliver... Now then, if I recall correctly, there is a small town to the northwest that some of the other players have been mentioning. They called it a hunting base of sorts. Could be a good place to start training, if you ask me."

  9. "Not my fault your sister has a bad habit of annoying people..." Kazuma snapped harshly, glaring at Zyran as he was told to be kinder to people. As he was about to say something more, Ourian told everyone to relax and start discussing strategy. Sighing, he listens as the others beat him to the menu.

Just as I thought... Ourian is going for full DPS. Granted, filling roles we are familiar with is definitely a good idea... Though I am concerned with Issa aiming for off-tank... She's never filled a tank role in any of the games we have played together so that might cause issues later down the line... Zyran, with his gear, is perfect for tanking, as he had already mentioned, so that is two roles guaranteed, three if you count Riley, who seems to be aiming for full DPS as well... He thought, calculating their possible party compositions in his head as he pulled up his menu to display his stats as well.

"I'm going to be going after this Martial Arts skill I've heard about, so I think DPS will also suit me pretty well... Though I am concerned about the lack of Support... So I guess I will fill that role too... So I guess consider me offhand DPS Support." He announced, thinking of ways he could benefit the team as a support in a game that didn't seem to have any means of ranged offense. He was determined to find out if there was a way to do so, however.

  10. Damn it, Issa... Kazuma thought angrily. They were in a serious situation and here she was playing, as well as being rude. It was obvious that her messing with the girl's tail was a problem.

"Will you stop that?!" Kazuma demanded harshly, shaking his head and crossing his arms. "This isn't the time to be playing around! We need to figure out how we are going to survive from here on out... and I'm sure I don't have to explain that staying here in the Town of Beginnings isn't going to solve a damned thing... We need a plan... and fast..." Kazuma explained. While he was a little upset that Issa wasn't taking things seriously, it was good to see her at least returning to normal. Sighing, he walks toward the girls.

"Although I have to admit... It's nice to see you back to your usual self, I suppose... You took the news about the death game pretty hard..." He said as he walked over to her and gently grabbed her arm to prevent her from pestering Riley, who had just introduced herself.

"As Ourian had just said, my name is Kazuma. Please forgive my friend's rudeness... She can be a bit of a ditz..." He said, smirking before turning back to Ourian. "So, mister fearless leader... You gonna explain why you made a mass post rather than just contact us?"

  11. "Kazuma! Over here!"

Who's making all that noise? Nevermind... I need to think... I've heard that there is some sort of Martial Arts skill, which would be perfect for me, rather than this pig sticker I have right now... So Support and off-DPS would probably be my speed... Kazuma thought as he continued to wander around, his thoughts running a mile a second. He had to think of some sort of party composition. As he continued to think about possible combinations, a bright light kept shining in his face. Annoyed, he turned away from it and continued to think about what to do.

"I know Ourian will want to play full DPS. That's how he's always been... Which leaves Issa and Zyran... Those two are the wild cards here... Honestly we need a-" he carried on, but his attention was drawn to a character with a tail and what appeared to be cat ears, who seemed to be approaching him, though she seemed to be looking past him.

"Hey! What'cha two kitty cats doing? This doesn't really seem like the best place for a duel."

Turning to face who she was talking to, Kazuma notices Ourian, who had his weapon drawn. As he looked at the weapon, he saw that light was reflecting off of it directly at him, making him laugh.

"Well that explains the bright light... What's up, Ourian?" Greeting Ourian, he turns his attention back to the girl playing cat. "Also, who's this? You know her?"

  12. "Damn it... This whole death game deal has everyone in a panic... It will be a while before people calm down to where we can all start working together to get the floors cleared..." Kazuma muttered to himself, trying to think about how they could all, as a team, try and help to clear the game. Now that it's known that a player dying here in the virtual world meant dying in the real world too, people have been afraid to leave the Town of Beginnings. "Can't say I blame them, though... Death has always been a scary concept... Now then, where is he at?"

His friend, Ourian, had sent him a message earlier that day to gather up with the others near the clock tower. Slowly, he scanned the crowd for any signs of a player with long black hair. "Damn it... there are like fifty people here with long black hair! This is bull..." he muttered furiously as he continued to walk around, coming up with strategies for their group all the while based on the gear they chose on the first day.

  13. Kazuma Mikhos

    Kazuma.thumb.jpg.d2daf1b19673bb3e117241e15b6087b8.jpg

    Username: Kazuma Mikhos
    Real Name: Christopher Duhlmaes
    Gender: Male
    Age: 21
    Height: 5' 11

"Hey, Chris! They called your name!" A girl called out as Chris was deep in thought. So deep, in fact, that his focus was 100% on the task at hand and he had completely lost track of what was going on around him. He was trying to figure out what kind of character he would build once he started playing Sword Art Online.

"Hello? Earth to Chris!" A boy shouted, his voice also falling on deaf ears.

"No... no that would be stupid... Everyone will be wielding swords... I don't want to be like everyone else..." The boy who called out to him got irritated and walked up to him, slamming his book on the desk, snapping Chris back to reality. Looking up, he noticed Zach was standing right next to him. "The hell?"

"Both of our names were called, dude! We won!" Zach cheered as he tried to pull Chris out of his seat. Gathering up all of his things, he walked up to the teacher with Zach and asked to be dismissed. With permission granted, they both walked down the hall to the office.

"I can't believe both of us won!" Chris said excitedly.

"Actually, turns out all four of us did. So we ALL got copies. We were the last 2 names called out."

    "No way!"

"Yep!" Zach said with a smile as they approached the office door, where two people were already about to open the door. a girl with long brown hair and a guy that seemed paler than most and had white hair with a couple strands of black and looked a little serious.

"Guess you two are the other winners? Congrats! Maybe we can all meet up in-game later." Zach offered, walking up to them. The girl smiled, but the guy ignored him.

"Don't mind him, he's never been much of a talker... I'll take you up on that offer though. I'm sure he will too." She said as the guy opened the door.

       ---
"Oh man! I can't believe we all won!!! This is gonna be EPIC!!!" Zachary exclaimed as he walked back to his college dorm with his friends Joey, Chris and Sarah, each of them grinning from ear to ear as they each waved around their own game cases. Of the thousands of students to attend their college, only 6 lucky people were able to win the contest and earn their own copies of Sword Art Online, and they were 4 of those lucky players.

"For real!!! I can't wait to get to the dorm and boot it up!" Sarah cheered, skipping a little as she started to move a little ahead of everyone. "We should all meet up in-game and form a party, and eventually a Guild! It's gonna be so much fun!"

"True... but I think we should wait on the guild until we learn the game a little better, my goofy little sister." Joey teased, sneaking up on Sarah and snatching her case away playfully. Obviously annoyed, she gives chase, making everyone laugh.

"Damn it, Joey! Give it back!" She shouted, slightly annoyed while still laughing as she chased him around, trying to jump up and grab the game from him. Chris paid them no mind, however... His mind was racing. He couldn't wait to get started. Wait... who all is gonna do what in the game?

"So, Zach. What's the plan, anyway?" Chris asked expectantly. Sure they knew that they were going to form a party and everything, but nobody really had a role to fill in the party.

"Yeah we should meet up and learn the game together. It will make things easier in the long run. Anyway, My room is this way. I'll meet you guys online in an hour." Zach replied, not really answering his question but it probably would be better once they were in the game where they would be able to see all the things that were possible to do.

    "Bet!"
    ---
Back at his dorm, Chris ate a sandwich and chips while setting up the Nerve Gear and SAO. Took a lot less time than he thought, though. He wasn't even half-way finished with his sandwich yet. Quickly devouring the rest of his food, he hops onto his bed and gets ready to dive.

    "Link START!!!"

    Personality
Serious and calculating to a fault, he has a tendency to space out and lose track of what is going on around him. His friends usually have to reel him back to reality when he gets lost in thought. Other than that, he is a kind and caring friend and love to play strategic games like chess and go. In most online games, he has played as the strategic tactician in guilds he's been a part of and has helped win quite a few raids and PVP team matches. Despite all of that, however, he has a known reputation throughout the college for being a bit of a brawler. He actually loves to fight and the thrill he gets in the heat of a brawl helps clear his head of all but one thing: Winning. But all in all, he cherishes his friends and will do anything to be with them. Fiercely loyal and strong, he will do whatever it takes to keep his friends safe.

    Virtues/Flaws

    • Serious - (Virtue/Flaw) Calm under pressure, Chris can keep a clear head in most circumstances. He's always been no-nonsense when it comes to important matters and sees to it that the task at hand is his main priority. This can also be considered a flaw, however, in the sense that he will develop tunnel-vision until the task is completed.
    • Coldly Silent - (Flaw) as a result of his serious nature, Chris has a tendency to be short and quick with his responses to focus on the task at hand. This usually comes across as rude and cold to many. He also tends to snap back at people with a harsh comment if they continue to annoy him.
    • Cunning - (Virtue/Flaw) Always able to see things through to the end, Chris is a very reliable person and sees things through to the end. Some of his methods of completing the task at hand may seem deceitful, but he always has the best intentions for those around him at heart. However, not all people see this cunning demeanor and talent as virtuous and believe that he is, instead, trying to manipulate others to benefit him at their expense.
    • Intelligent - (Virtue/Flaw) Creative and smart, Chris has the answer to just about any situation. As a result, he is usually seen as the top student of his classes. To some people, however, people consider it arrogance since he always seems to have an answer for everything and they feel that he is gloating on being smarter than they are, even though that is far from the truth when it comes to Chris.
    • Overthinker - (Flaw) Like his friend, Zachary, he tends to overthink things when faced with a decision. Where ha and Zach differ, however, is that he can still function to a point while his brain processes the information and rules out what options are no longer valid. While this is slightly better than just pausing to think, he has a tendency to choose the wrong path and make the wrong decision due to not wanting to slow down, making him a liability in a fight if facing multiple obstacles at once.
    • Natural Strategist - (Virtue) Always thinking outside the box and plans things far in advance before making his move. He always stays one step ahead of everyone, whether it be a game of chess or a fight. Not many have beaten him when it comes to a game of strategy, but any that have always know that all it would have taken was one mistake and they would have lost.
