HISTORY

Sying Clair Tao Arseneau was born to Chinese American and French Canadian couple. Her childhood tended toward average, being raised in central Maryland until she was 14. She thrived there, but her parents had decided to send her to live with her great aunt in Wuhan while she attended secondary schooling. While she did miss her friends and parents, she came to enjoy her aunt's company (and the company of her cat) and find value in her new life. The intent was for her to finish her schooling there, but her aunt passed when she was 17, causing her to return to the States.

It was around this time when Sying first became a public figure, after one of her videos on the popular app ClikClok went viral. She amassed millions of views and thousands of followers within a week. And it didn't stop there. Over the next several years she cultivated a large social media following across many platforms, launched a successful YouView channel, formed a punk band called Androids!!, and even co-created a podcast network. As she branched into different ventures and expanded her viewership, her popularity grew.

This is what made Sying a popular candidate to receive a copy of the new VRMMMO, Sword Art Online. She advocated for it before it's release, though her content generally wasn't video game related aside from the odd exception. She can't help but feel responsible, in some way, knowing full well someone may have entered the game because of her.

And she fears this may come back to haunt her.

VIRTUES

Energetic. Beetle possesses an abundance of energy. Vigorous, spirited, and lively, she is the first to act and the last to rest. At times, this can be overwhelming for others as she pushes them to match her pace. Her energy fuels an adventurousness and curiosity that drives her.

Friendly. Beetle has a way with people. Charismatic, compassionate, and sympathetic, she makes for a good companion and always does her best to support those around her. With this disposition, she rarely has a hard time connecting with others and makes friends easily. As long as she's around companions with a similar caring for others, she feels at home.

Influencer. Beetle has been in the public eye for some time, due to her professions. Her steady growth of followers, on many platforms, means that she could be recognized in the game for any number of things. Often, though not always, this leads to positive interactions and can even result in extra help from fans. She refuses to take advantage of any of these potential benefactor, though.

FLAWS

Hotheaded. Beetle's emotions are, at times, fierce. Even with all her friendly nature, the energy and intense nature she possesses can push her to anger easily. Though this isn't generally directed at an individual, particularly one close to her, they are often caught in the crossfire. This can feed her more reckless side, impacting what might be an important decision.

Audacious. Beetle can be quite foolhardy. With all that energy, she doesn't always think, and can be recklessly bold. Coupled with her adventurous nature and boundless energy, she occasionally takes unnecessary risks. At the worst of times, it can be consequential when working with others, with her being defiant when her cooperation matters most.

Influencer. Beetle's popularity isn't  always a boon. Leave it to the internet; where there's fans there's adversarial followers. At times, like many other internet personalities, she has received all the vitriol people have to offer, even receiving death threats and a stalker scare. She hopes this has not followed her into the game.
