  1. Knight walked through the tavern, his armor clinking along with every step. The man would continue behind every player trying to drink away their sorrows, however fruitlessly. The giant wall of steel would walk up to his old friend, grabbing her by the ear. "Hey! I think it's time we do something other than drink. We at least need to get a bunch of gear." The man would nod, poking his head towards the door. The massive sword on his back would drag on the ground as he continued onwards. The man would duck out from under the door and continue onwards through the town of beginnings. Many players remained on this floor for some reason, perhaps they didn't know there were more.

As for Knight, he didn't really care. The others could have their floors, all he wanted to do was become unkillable. With the help of his friend, he very well could. Or at least that was his plan. He wound up drinking pretty much everyday and sleeping it off the days he didn't. Despite the complete lack of effect alcohol has in this game, Damien had tricked himself into thinking it did.

Not that it was challenging to do so.

    Real name: Damien Sato
    Age: 19-21
    Gender: Male
    Height: 6'2"

    Background:

Never being all that good with books, Damien found his talent in gaming. He was always a bit of a dork, but in a game a mistake didn't mean you had to correct it. They allowed him to be free of all expectations and short comings so he played them non stop. A text book shut in by any definition, the boy's day consisted of Work, Games, then sleep, and if he didn't have time for games, he would cut back on his sleep. Countless days playing non stop, because he was the goofiest of goofballs and talking to people was something he just never really did. Unless it was from behind a screen.

While in high school, the kid formed a guild with a few friends in a niche little game, and after they spent almost a year playing non stop, the boys managed to become the top guild. They would power through raids and give all of the credit to their leader. The mighty knight in blue, Damien. They were number one so naturally a few players found their way into the guild that had little to no experience playing games, and to try and keep raid parties balanced, each leading member of a certain class would take a few at a time and teach them the intricacies of raid tactics. With Damien being a bit of a doofus, his guild only gave him one student, someone who they had tried to teach but had no way of explaining the mechanics to someone so fresh to mmos.

But Damien had never really learned mmos, so his way of viewing the game was all too simple. They would become a rag tag power pair of airheads, fumbling their way through most boss fights only for the game to slow down. It had all but died by the time SAO was announced. Not long after, his student would recommend a new game to the guild, as they had done pretty much everything there was to do in the old one. Immediately, Damien would buy the newest system and wait for launch, spending almost every day planning out his build with his group, but their interest in the boy would fizzle down as the release got closer and closer. The only person who really seemed interested in how he was going to play was the girl he had played alongside almost non stop for the past year.

Once the game was released, Knight would step down into the town of beginnings and meet up with his guild, his old friends looking at him like he was weird for designing his character as close as he could to the old game, but that was just the way he looked, although he had longer hair in real life. They would make the rounds in the first few hours, trying to level up as best as they could, but the other players hardly let Damien and the girl get any kills. So by the time the announcement was called, the pair was still level one. Immediately after the announcement, Damien lost all contact with his friends, they had cut him off completely. His friends list had almost disappeared too, other than the one person who stuck by his side through all of it.

Were they dead? Did they abandon the pair? The boy couldn't quite figure it out, so he did what he does best. He moved on, after all, he still had one friend and now she was all that mattered.

    Virtues

    1. Brave- Call it stupidity, or a lack of a grasp on the depth of his situation, but the threat of a monster or any other enemy will not stop the Knight from doing something great. His dream is to be the strongest player in sword art online and a little danger is what he needs to get there. Nothing to take the edge off like a little bit of danger and a whole lot of strength.
    2. Simple- Having never really understood the deeper undertones of conversation or situations, Damien will get straight to the point. Getting distracted by the deeper meaning of an action or saying is something he just doesn’t do. He prefers to keep his time spent doing something he does understand, not waiting for something to make sense.
    3. Protective- Being the best tank in his old guild really gave Damien a protective itch, never wanting to let his DPS players get hurt. He can’t really fight, but if someone he cares for needs him to, he absolutely will. If nothing else, he’ll act as a wall between his friends and his enemies.

    Flaws

    1. A little too simple- Something his friends like to point out was that the tower of power was empty up top, because he couldn’t quite grasp most situations. Surface level stuff was easy for him, but reading between the lines or connecting bits of information without a helping hand just never comes naturally to the guy. In the brains vs brawn debate, Damien put all of his points into brawn, because if it can’t be solved with his hands, then what’s the point?
    2. Protective- If his friend is in danger, Damien will drop everything to get to her and protect her. Even if she doesn’t need his help, the guy will always try, because that’s what friends do. Often he can end up making a situation worse by ignoring his duties just to keep his student from getting hurt.
    3. Indecisive- Something his partner in crime would always pick on him for, Damien has very little way in confidence when it comes to deciding to do something. He gets so tripped up in weighing the options, he has learned it’s often better to let someone else pick. That’s also an issue when he can’t quite think of a problem all of the way through.
