[PP-F4] Looking For Warmth (Erin)

Recommended Posts

Emerath sat outside of his shop, wrapped up in a jacket, a scarf and his normal dapper attire, watching the small little town on the Fourth Floor hustle and bustle. Today was a bit of a lazy day for the man, and since he hadn't been crafting recently he thought he might do a bit of people watching for the afternoon. And so, he had grabbed a chair and decided to sit out in the cold to do just that. Normally the cold would have bothered him, sitting in it for long periods of time, but that's why he had covered himself practically from head to toe. As he sat, he popped open a thermos with some warm tea in it and took a drink, before placing it back in his inventory and continuing to watch the world go by.

Erin had been out and about this level, her new armor being anything less than warm as she huddled up wearing a rather light cloak as the only means to keep the wind and snow of. At best it blocked the win but now it was basically being blow off as she strolled through the streets of the snow city. Shivering out in the cold she decided that their was no reason to stay out long and freeze on her way back to her inn. She quickly ran up to the door and knocked loudly begging to be let in, "P-please let me in!" She wasn't sure whether anyone was in the shop but she had to get in before she caught hypothermia if that was at all possible.

Emerath had been watching the girl struggling with the light cloak and even lighter armor as she made her way through the streets, before she finally broke off towards Emerath's shop in a run. He could see the girl shivering as she pounded on his door and he looked at her a bit quizzically. She might not know its my shop, he thought to himself as he stood from his chair and walked over next to her, saying, "Hello, miss. If you give me just a moment I would be happy to unlock the door and let you warm up inside."

She stopped knocking as she heard a voice from behind her as she began to grab at the cloak between her legs holding it shut hoping that her armor hand't already been seen as the other held the top shut. She shivered on his door step till she now would let him in beside her biting her lip to not let anymore cold get about her as she was already trembling, "S-s-sorry I just thought someone was home I-I wouldn't normally do this as the inn I'm s-staying at is b-bit-t farther down." She began to move her arms up and down herself in attempts to warm up.

Emerath could tell that the girl was desperately cold, and from what little glimpses he had seen of her light, light armor before she ran up, he wasn't surprised. Before unlocking the door, Emerath unbuttoned and removed his coat, before placing it around the shoulders of the woman. She was roughly the same height as Emerath, and he was a thinner built man, so the coat most likely fit her just the same as it would him. He then moved to unlock the door, pulling out his keys and sliding the correct one into the lock and turning it with a soft click. He then pushed the door open and stepped aside to let the woman inside, hoping that in her rush she wouldn't break any of his potions. He smiled and said, "After you, madam," with a light bow. A shiver of his own caught him as the wind passed by, now that he wasn't wearing his coat, and Emerath figured the first thing that would need to be done is lighting up the fire in the hearth.

Erin' began to bounce in place as her teeth noticeably chattered, she sounded like an old wagon with pieces coming loose till the door opened. Shooting in as soon as it was opened she would hardly realize that he had placed another coat over her shoulders as she then lied down on the floor and shivered. Curling up like a rolly-polly bug as she now lied there on the ground tightly gripping both coats. Each of her limbs tucked in as if they were no within the warm tortoise shell that was the coats. "T-thank you." She murmured while fidgeting underneath the coat now. as she squeak slipping past the potions that she managed to avoid knocking over. "S-so cold."

Emerath walked in behind the girl after she rushed in, and closed the door behind him with his foot. Poor girl must have been wandering around for hours or something. He looked down at her, grabbing a match from the hearth and lighting it, before throwing it into the fireplace. The fire roared to life immediately and Emerath smiled as he turned back to the shivering girl on the floor. "So, admittedly I'm curious. Why are you wandering around what is currently the coldest floor in Aincrad dressed in what appeared to be your skivvies?" he asked, looking down with a bit of a frown. Nonetheless, Emerath was one to help, as he grabbed a nearby potion from a shelf and knelt down beside the girl, offering it to her. It was a dark red potion which bubbled furiously. "Here, drink this, it'll warm you up. It's a heating potion. It tastes like cinnamon, so... I'm sorry if you don't like cinnamon. But it'll help."

As she lied their on the floor she looked up toward the man who had invited her basically for the first time and gave him a happy smile. As the fire started she began to huddle about it opening both of the coats a bit as she felt the open flame's kiss their loving warmth over her bare belly and thighs. Sighing with relief as she basically was looming over the fire now she then blinked seeing a potion given to her by the stranger. "I-I uhh?" Inspecting the potion she was careful as she had heard of stories of people and slipping things to knock pretty girls out. Deep down though she believed him more than she normally would let on and took the potion and gulped it down as it began to take it's affect on her. The taste of cinnamon being a wonderful after thought as she then hiccuped and shook her head. "H-how much do I owe you?" She said now thinking about it and pulling up her menu to look at her funds.

Emerath waved a hand at the girl's offer of money, "No, no. I'm simply happy to help. Turns out you just so happened to wander into the right shop of a kindly alchemist." He smiled and then shook his head as he took a step back and leaned against a nearby shelf. "Now, I still can't help but wonder what someone would be doing dressed as lightly as you are on the Fourth Floor. You look like you're dressed like you belong on Floor Five. Perhaps, did you get lost?" he said giving the girl a quizzical look. About that time, small hoots could be heard from a nearby perch, as Emerath's owl Mist seemed to recognize that there was a guest in the shop. Emerath chuckled and pointed to the barn owl, "Also, that's my pet owl, Mist."

Nodding she realized that she failed to comment about her outfit as she was  hoping that maybe he would forget about it. Sighing she murmured softly, "It isn't entirely by choice, as it is the best set ... well only set of armor that I own so far. I actually had them custom made by a friend who was kind enough to pay for them. Obviously he had a rather particular sense of fashion and what he thought I would look cute in." The tint of cherry now in her cheeks being neither an affect of the potion or the fire warming her up, her own embarrassment was all that was needed for that. "I was out wandering and I had to slip into my combat gear." Standing up now she would place his coat on a rack and cling to the edges of the cloak but what caught her attention was the hooting. "You have an owl for a pet?" She began to look toward the noise.

Emerath watched the girl place the coat on the rack as he listened to her explanation for her rather odd armor. He cocked his head a bit, before saying, "You're welcome to keep the coat. If it'll mean you stay warm in what you're wearing. I have plenty of coats lying around and I can always get another. Others might not be so fortunate or have time for such things." He looked over at his potion shelves again before saying, "Either that or I'll give you another warming potion when you leave, the choice is yours. If you have to be dressed like that, at least stay warm somehow." He smiled at the girl and then looked over to Mist and walked over to the owl. He put out a hand and the owl hopped onto it and Emerath brought Mist back to the girl. "She's a sweet thing. I found her out in the fields of this very floor. She even assists me in combat." Emerath kept his smile as he finished off with, "Now then, since you've warmed up a bit, perhaps I might get your name?"

"N-no I couldn't do that you have already done so much for me," she was quite a flustered girl as she now bowed down before shivering once again and curling up again by the fire. As the boy walked off she noticed him bring back the bird, it was a gorgeous owl, she was quite jealous of him, she loved the idea of such creatures helping and assisting her in the combat. Lord knew that she needed someone with her practically twenty four seven. "D-does it like to be pet on the head?" She asked shaking her head no to the remark on whether or not she wanted another warming potion. "You are quite kind but I already feel like I have asked to much of you." As ht then questioned her name she felt like a dunce, "Sorry, here you were doing all these things for me and I didn't even think to introduce myself. I'm ErinVyce, but you can just call me Erin ... or Vyce though no one has called me that."
