[SP-F1] Under a Violet Moon - Lap 2 [Complete]

Recommended Posts

Loreley yawned and scratched her head and sleepily rubbed an eye as she looked out at the rolling fields outside the Town of Beginnings. She had gotten a good day's rest, but after all the running and jumping she had been doing the night before, felt that she might have overdone it a little. But, to become a great player in Sword Art Online, one must always be ever vigilant, and ever grinding. She giggled to herself as she pulled out her dagger and tossed it a couple of times in the air, catching it perfectly each time without cutting herself. I have a new toy now, in the form of a Sword Art that I actually have the energy to use. Time to go murder some groups of boars for loot.

Loreley had decided that taking a lap around the Town of Beginnings each night would act as a good training regimen to keep herself not only in shape, but to gather materials. And so, she began her run, despite how fatigued she already was. Ever watchful for the glimmers, Loreley would also be on the lookout for ideal groups of boars as she gripped her dagger firmly in her hands and weaved her way in and out of groups of boars, looking for that ideal set to hop in the middle of and AoE to death. She giggled at the thought. Tonight was going to be fun.

Loreley had decided not to jump around too much tonight. She got enough of a workout running by itself, and the acrobatics were something that could be practiced when she wasn't toting a dagger and deciding on which boars to kill. And so she just weaved in and out. One boar alone... two boars sniffing each other... three boars fighting over a mushroom... no, none of these numbers worked out. Loreley kept searching for the perfect group.

And then there it was. The jackpot. There were four boars just sitting around, all milling about but close enough that Loreley was convinced that she could hit all four of them at once with her Sword Art. Her mouth twisted into a wicked grin as she leapt forward with a flip into the middle of the four boars. All four of them gave her a confused squeal, but by then it was too late. Loreley's dagger glowed a bright purple as she spun around in a circular motion, slicing all four creatures and causing all of them to explode into a flurry of pixels.

Loreley giggled as she watched the loot window pop up, delighted at the fruits of her labor. Already she had made nearly as many materials as last night, and her night had only just begun. Now all she had to do was wait for her energy and find the next mother lode, and she would be set.

Loreley knew she'd have to rest after expending all of her energy, and so she went back to making her lap around the Town of Beginnings, ever watchful for the occasional glimmer on the landscape. She had managed to make it a quarter of her lap around the Town of Beginnings, and right as she hit the gate was when she managed to spot a glimmer out of the corner of her eye. She quickly ran over to it and scooped it up, jogging in place for a moment as she considered just how much more successful this night had been so far.

Loreley continued to make her way around the landscape, dodging and weaving, taking note of if she saw anymore boar packs, even though her energy hadn't quite reached the point of reactivating her jackpot Sword Art. Working in her favor, she hadn't seen any, but unfortunately she wasn't seeing any glimmers on the landscape indicating crafting materials hidden away either. She was a bit miffed at this being the case, but she continued to press on. It would be only one more tick before she would be on the hunt again for yet another jackpot.

Loreley had spent enough time mindlessly running around the grassy hills, weaving through boars that she saw her EN bar fill up an extra point, indicating that it was now full. She smiled, and pulled out her dagger again, elated at the thought of turning more of the silly little creatures into pretty blue pixels. She sped along, now on the hunt again for that perfect pack of boars, hopeful that one would make itself clear to her quickly.

Given the sheer amount of boars littering the landscape, Loreley was utterly disappointed that there were just so few that refused to cluster together. Loreley almost wondered if it would be possible to push them together, but thought against it as doing so might initiate combat. Loreley sighed, between the lack of boar packs and lack of glimmers on the landscape, the past ten or so minutes had ended up being incredibly dull, with her simply feeling fatigued from running and staring at the landscape.

Loreley continued to weave in and out of boars, the never changing landscape beginning to make the girl a bit sleepy as she ran along. Wouldn't that have been a sight? A girl just running along sleeping as she did so? Though she supposed as she fell asleep she'd end up just falling face first in the dirt, and that wasn't a pleasant thought. Thankfully, as her eyelids began to droop, she managed to almost run into a pack of boars. She skidded to a stop, her brain too foggy to think to jump over them, and she managed to get all of their attentions with her dust cloud she created. They all squealed at her a bit in confusion, as Loreley took a mental count. One... two... three... jackpot. She smiled, and her dagger began to glow purple, and before the boars could even squeal again, she had spun around in a flash, slicing all four of them open.

A wicked grin crossed her face a they all exploded into a flurry of pixels and she began to run again, dismissing the loot window with her present for her efforts as she ran.

Loreley continued on her merry way, noting that she was about halfway around the Town of Beginnings as the next gate came into view. It was a rather enjoyable thought to think that she had almost nearly doubled her output from the night before thanks to the use of Sword Arts and wondered what the output potential was when she was able to kill bigger and better monsters for real loot. She could only dream, as she ran along, smiling at herself as she waited for her EN bar to tick along.

Despite how frustrating it would normally be that Loreley couldn't find any materials, Loreley was too excited about having already increased her output to really think too much about the fact that the landscape offered little in the way of glimmers. She was fine with these periods of downtime in between killing boar packs, not that she would complain if she found more materials in between them. But given how much more she had already gotten, she was satisfied. Even if it did annoy her that she couldn't just murder ever boar she saw. Well, she could, but it wasn't as efficient. She sighed and waited for the final tick of her EN bar.

As it turned out, her mental complaining had paid off. Shortly after she had just been thinking about how she wouldn't mind finding extra materials in her downtime, she noticed a glimmer out of the corner of her eye. She smiled and made her way over, actually taking a moment to stop running and catch her breath. She was a runner, that was for certain, but she wasn't immune to fatigue. But the good thing about SAO, was that it thankfully didn't punish players as badly for it. She smiled and scooped up the material, and once her breath had settled down a bit, she was on her way again.

With her energy full again, she pulled out her dagger, and was on the hunt for boars once again. She scanned the landscape, taking note of what she saw in the animals, and really wished that her luck was better in terms of actually finding good boar packs. Or that the NPC pathing was better. Or whatever excuse she wished to make to say that the boars were not where she needed them to be. She was almost double her output. She had to at least reach that to be fully satisfied with how the night was going, and then push to triple it just to say she had.

Loreley needed to tell herself to complain less and to be more patient. As she ran along, she had been figuring that she just wouldn't find another boar pack, but she hadn't given herself enough credit. There was one boar standing alone, but as she ran by, she watched three more wander up and begin to look around and sniff the air like dumb animals. Loreley quickly swung around, a smile on her face, as she readied her Sword Art quickly before they could move again.

Leaping into the fray, Loreley did her thing, spinning around and slicing open the boars, with each giving a loud squeal into a very horrifying chorus that rang out through the fields. Loreley idly wondered if she had woken anyone up with that odd chorus of boar deaths as she dismissed a loot window rewarding even more materials. She shrugged, and was on her way again.

More downtime meant more bored Loreley, as she continued to make her way through the fields, watching her EN bar tick upwards like a hawk. She was about three quarters of the way through tonight's lap, and was a bit interested to see that she seemed to be making better time tonight than she previously had. Idly, Loreley wondered if it was actually possible to strengthen oneself body wise inside the game. She supposed her mind wasn't actually stimulating her muscles, so it wasn't working outside of the game, but in Aincrad, was it possible to be more athletic? Loreley made a mental note to check later.

Loreley yawned a bit as she ran, the fatigue of running what was probably at least a few miles taking its toll on her body. But she wouldn't stop. She had almost managed to triple her output from the night before, and would be doing everything in her power to make it so. She had considered beginning to hop over boars again to try to stay awake, but she had gone this long without doing it, that it just wouldn't even seem as much fun as it had the night before. The night before she had nothing better to do, but tonight, tonight she was slaying.

The night was winding down and as expected from her not killing monsters downtime, Loreley hadn't managed to find much. She sighed a bit to herself as she ran along, almost at this point wishing she could end the night, even if she didn't triple her output. She was exhausted from the run, and thought that maybe she should give herself an extra day of rest before heading back out again. However, her EN bar ticked to full again, and she pulled out her dagger. C'mon boars, momma needs one more jackpot.

Loreley could feel a pattern forming, and she wondered if it would work the same way as it had previously to end off the night, as she mentally complained to herself about how the boars just never seemed to line up properly in time with her actually regaining her energy. She held her dagger in front of her, ready to jump in the next pack of boars she saw and get that sweet, sweet loot... but there was nothing. As usual. She growled a bit in frustration as she ran, as she began to see the Town of Beginning's North Gate, indicating that her lap was almost over.

Unfortunately for Loreley, the boars just didn't want to group up properly, as she ran along searching for the perfect set. Nothing made itself clear, but Loreley did manage to spot herself a glimmer on the landscape. Haven't seen one of those in a while... she thought to herself as she made her way over. She shrugged and scooped it up into her inventory, thinking, Well, could've been worse. At least I ended off the night on a high note.

Loreley left the fields around the Town of Beginnings, her breath ragged and her body aching. She had run far too much in the past couple days, and she desperately needed to give herself a break. But, it had all been worth it. She looked at her inventory totals and was delighted at the results. Over double what it had been the night before, and well earned. She'd push to triple next time, and as she gained more energy, that would make these runs even easier and more profitable. All in all, everything was looking up for Loreley, as she stretched and yawned, making her way to the nearest inn for some well earned sleep.
