About: His family originally coming from a war torn country, Nathan has seen quite a bit of the inhumanities that man can inflict upon each other from an early age. His father, ever resourceful, was able to get a well paying job in engineering and support his family in this new country. His father's job gave the family access to rather new technologies, which would eventually lead to the NerveGear. Before the NerverGear came out there was getting used to this new life Nathan found himself in. He was in a new country, learning a new language and culture, and dealing with the horrors he'd witnessed in his homeland. And so, Nathan turned to gaming. It wasn't a terribly difficult transition for him. He didn't have friends at school and didn't trust anyone enough to become friends. He wasn't terribly interested in school, barely doing well enough to get adequate grades just so his parent's wouldn't harp on him. And, thanks to his dad's job, the technology to begin gaming was readily available.

He began with basic games that didn't require much skill. As he found more and more joy in the distraction from life he began to take gaming more seriously. He played a little bit of everything; puzzles, FPS, MMO's, RPG's, etc. until he'd played almost every genre. His wide variety in gaming made him become a sort of connoisseur in games, watching as the industry developed and grew. Then came out this wonderful technology, the NerveGear. Something that could completely render a 3D world for someone to get immersed in. The best chance for him to find the ultimate distraction from life. He followed the development of the technology, watching as the game SAO became a thing and eagerly awaited its release. On the day of release he was one of the eager 10,000 people that logged in, looking for a world he could get lost in. An entire new life without the unnecessary pain the real world brought,

  Virtues:

Nathan has a very strong will. Once he's set his mind to a task he will pursue the completion of this goal to the end. He doesn't enjoy seeing a job left half done, almost to the point where he could be considered a perfectionist. If one were able to convince him to help then Nathan will complete the task that is set before him, and usually to an extent that a taskmaster would like.

Even if Nathan isn't a big fan of people he was raised better than being outright rude to them. He is extremely courteous when interacting with others and tries not to offend others with his words or actions. This can result in him appearing to act a little cold when talking to others, but he never says anything offensive (or at least what he considers offensive).

There is no point in causing excessive pain. He is by no means a sadist, in fact possibly the opposite. He isn't restrained by his desire to not cause pain, thus not making him a pacifist, but by all means he will try and avoid causing it.

Nathan is very thorough in his thinking. Deliberate and careful, he thinks out every issue in a logical manner before acting. He is able to solve problems that he encounters in any scenario which makes him resourceful in plan or decision making, usually able to facilitate either process.

  Flaws:

Nathan has never really been an emotional guy. He didn't tend to shed a tear at sad moments or laugh when things were bright. Rather he would use the ever persistent blank look that betrayed little to no emotion. However, he isn't completely emotionless and there are times, especially those of extreme stress or emotion, that he will show some emotion. These moments are precious rare though.

Once he has an idea in his head then he can't let it go. Nathan has to pursue it to the end and this sometimes has negative effects on his life. Sometimes he can become too single-minded and will only approach the task from the way he thought it.  This tends to get balanced out with his logical side, his mind deciding running into the same wall over and over again not to be that wise, but there are times when even logic won't convince him to change his ways.

Definitely not a people person by any means. Nathan has never really been all that comfortable with being close to people. He tends to be really quiet, the larger the group the less he talks. This makes him hard to work with if one could get him to work with others at all in the first place.

Most of his issues stem from the fact that he has a pretty negative outlook on humanity. He finds it hard to believe that there is any good that could possibly reside in man and this makes him very distrusting of others. In a world where death is a constant worry now that only amplifies his distrust. Most people, in his eyes, could easily resort to PKing and this thought makes him all the less likely to work with others.
